Ive no before pictures on my iPad because ddog hasn't been allowed to have more than 5 weeks of hair growth for the last 4 yrs . Does your poodle bark a lot at the groomers OP ,as when I picked mine up from his bath on Tuesday it was really busy and much noisier than normal and when I said that to one of the groomers her response was ' we've got poodles in ' .

No Floral my poodle rarely barks at all she whines

I groom her myself, which is why shes not looking her best at the moment, I experimented with poodle feet and scissoring. Scissoring is really hard!

Aww look at her little poodly face!

Impressed you can do your own grooming - we have a 18 week old labradoodle with a curly coat who had his face trimmed at the weekend and I've no idea how she did it! Maybe never once he's calmed down a bit!

No longer with us but before as an 8 week old puppy

We tried to keep her knot free but considering her fondness for puddles it wasn't happening

Had to get her clipped and this was the end result. Bye bye dark owl eyes

Slimbob that after photo is amazing!

Soubriquet my poodle has a fondness for muddy puddles too. She ends up having to have a bath each time because the mud doesn't brush out. The blaster/dryer thingy I bought is the best thing ever.

Oh, I wasn't clear in my op. The only difference between the before pic and the after pic is that I put two hair bobbles in her topknot so that she could see.

Before and after being hand stripped. The photos don't really do it justice but there is a big difference.

allfurcoat I like your dogs jumper!

Snoopy I'm always amazed at how different border terriers look after handstripping.

Waitrose Monty's ears are impressive!

deadnettle Thank you! Ddog loves it, it's very soft and keeps her bald tummy war in the depths of winter.

They are bigger than his head Grin

He's only 9 months though so maybe he will grow into them..

Allfurcoat my dog gets cold in the winter and I am always tempted to get her a jumper but I think it would just cause her to get matted Sad She does have a coat but thats more because it takes so long for her to dry than because its cold.

Waitrose is it wrong for me to hope he never grows into his ears?

I'm lurking to coo at gratuitous photos of poodles Blush Eric is clipped every six weeks so I'll get a photo and post again in a week or so after his clip. He's got a dodgy moustache just now and anything more than six weeks means his hair covers his eyes, he is clipped close mostly because of his delight at getting wet, dirty and smelly though as it cuts down on the drying time.

insan1tyscartching · 07/10/2016 21:23

"Floral" the groomers say Eric is very vocal Blush he doesn't bark as such but he whines, yips, growls, purrs, snuffs and snorts and sneezes, all day to me in response to me speaking to him so think he does the same there. He does a fantastic miaow which has the groomers in stitches too. Of course when he hears our car pull up he squeals as well.

Insan1ty was it you who loves shaved poodle feet? When I last groomed the dog I shaved her feet and they are so tiny and cute.

I really love poodles and yes I love their tippy toes. If I has one it would have to have the works with a big top knot, tippy toes and a pompom tail Blush which is probably the reason we have a poodle cross at dh's insistence although it doesn't stop me looking for a female miniature rescue poodle most weeks.

Please excuse the badly shaved feet, it was the first time I had ever done them!

See just so lovely and really cute. I love how they are really clever dogs too and really hardy. As a child our neighbour had a poodle and every Sunday he'd jump the fence at 1pm on the dot and scratch at our door so that dm would give him a slice off of the roast. He never did it on any other day though. Eric's pretty hardy too he's happiest out in the peaks getting filthy whatever the weather not at all prissy like I think dh probably imagines a poodle would be.
