New puppy not sure of age (very angry with breeder tbh but long story) anyway..... She's sometimes good on puppy pads, sometimes not.... The not however is always on the carpet not on the tiled kitchen floor!! Any hits tips how to make carpet less smelly and clean until she's properly toilet trained when I will get carpet professionaly cleaned (I mean get a rug doctor lol) thanks in advance xx

Simple Solution Urine Destroyer is great stuff for cleaning up accidents.

Bear in mind it's not uncommon for puppies taken away from their mum and litter mates too early to struggle with house training. I'd still treat her like a normal puppy (ditch the pads, take her out often, ignore accidents inside and praise like mad when she goes outside) but remember it might take her longer than your would expect to really catch on.

We reckon DDog2 was about five weeks when we adopted her and house training is one of the things she really struggled with. She's also had problems with attachment (mostly to OH), obsessive behaviours and bite inhibition which are all issues that have been linked to leaving mum/siblings too young.

It's worth reading up on the issues that may arise. She may well be absolutely fine (and if she's seven weeks plus I wouldn't worry at all) but forewarned is forearmed as they say.

Never heard of that, where can I get it from?? I'm in the UK if that's any help??
I've had puppies before (2 other dogs) but she's worse, like you say it's probably because she's been taken away too soon! Lots of things don't add up but taking her the vets soon for first injections (after being told she'd have them-she hasn't) so I'll get a full health check done then. Thanks for your advice Tronic xx

You can get it from Pets At Home (I'd presume most reasonably sized pet shops would stock it, or something similar) and you can order it from Amazon as well.

You can also use diluted bio wash liquid, It does the same thing as Simple Solution.

I use bio washing powder with a bit of water and it works just as well as the more expensive stuff. My new pup came home on Thursday so I seem to spend hours out in the garden at the minute.
