im so upset and angry

Did any of the dogs suffer injuries that need to be treated? Get them to the vet if you're worried.
Then report the incident to the Dog Warden, with all the details you can give.
Best to do this rather than worry that she is reporting. You need to give your version.

none of them need to be treated

what can she do though

mine were on leads
her dog was off its lead vicous and came after my three

Glad none of them need treatment.
You should report it because it was an uncontrolled dog who attacked another dog(s). Also if she then tries to report your dogs, the warden already has your version of events.

It's always so scary when something like this happens, even if there is no physical damage. Make sure your dogs are OK then call or visit your vet if you need to. Next have a cuppa and keep calm.

Her dog was out of control so you have every right to report it to the dog warden and even the police if you believe it was dangerously out of control.

I think perhaps she was frightened by her dogs behaviour and that's why she acted like she did, I don't believe she will report you. I mean, what would she say? That your dogs were leashed while hers was not under her control? I wouldn't worry about that really.

This site is full of good information about reporting an attack.

It is not your fault if an off lead dog approached your on lead dogs. Doesn't matter if she does report you (although, what can she report you for?!) her dog will be deemed to be out of control.
Same thing happened to me, off lead dog approached my on lead dog and my dog went for the dog.
The owner was threatening me with all sorts. Police said their dog was out of control, not mine.

So scary for you. I agree with impossible She was probably angry with herself for not being more aware and watching her dog and took it out on you.

Report
ImpossibleDog · 20/05/2016 16:59

You've absolutely done nothing wrong and neither have your dogs. Don't worry. I'm glad they don't need a visit to the vets!

thank you

she was so angry with me screamed in my face

if my dog was vicous a. it would be on a lead and b. if in a park with no lead then i would carefully watch it

Chances are she has no intentions of reporting it but, in your shoes, I would be reporting the attack. Hope you are all OK.

Well for starters it's exceptionally poor etiquette to allow your off-lead dog to approach others on a lead (and ideally you should put yours on a lead of approaching on-lead dogs). The dogs may be on a lead because they are ill, injured, in training or nervous.
I echo what others have said - report it. She is in the wrong, not you and if she doesn't realise that she shouldn't have a dog

You'll all be OK. I'm sure your dogs have already forgotten it. Don't worry about taking them out again or anything. You haven't done anything wrong and it wasn't your fault. Just ignore that woman and don't take to heart what she said.

I hope she has too. How are you and your dogs doing today?

I would definitely report the incident. As everyone has said, she was totally in the wrong. Her dog invaded your dogs' space and she wasn't even paying attention as she was on the phone.
Very upsetting for you but not in any way your fault - or your dogs'!

dont miss out on walking your dogs. these things happen. she handled it badly. dog fights mostly sound worse than they are but it is scary.

true

great advice guys
I just started to think maybe she had a point :/

I know I did nothing wrong she needs to be really careful from now on and watch him instead of ignoring him
