The doghouse

What does your dog do that gives you cute rage?

You know when your mutt does something so cute that you find yourself gritting your teeth and balling your fists with how fucking cute they are...

I have three;

(1) When my dog gets herself all excited she stamps her front paws and sort of goose steps around the house rather than walking like a sensible dog.

(2) When she wants some love but everyone's ignoring her, she lies on her side in the middle of the room thumping her tail on the floor until someone gives her some attention no matter how long it takes. Her record is 20 minutes of just lying there waiting for love.

(3) When she wakes up after a big sleep, she propels herself around her bed making all manner of weird growling and yawning noises. It makes me think she's properly contented with life.

Yours...

Bahaha Grin at your description in the first paragraph. Love it!

My dog sleeps on my bed. When the alarm goes off, she walks to the top of the duvet, uses her snout to create an entry point, and runs down under the covers.

She then curls up against me, on the inside curve of my body, and does a deeply-contented throat grumble.

I love her so hard I want to bite her.

StationaryShop · 28/04/2016 16:01

Koala Grin I love those satisfied grumbles they do.

When my little dog is happy to see me, he simultaneously tries to lay on his back with his front half, while sticking his bum in the air and wagging like a loon. I have no idea what he is trying to achieve but it's ridiculously cute.

Hoppinggreen · 28/04/2016 17:07

When we are out for a walk and dpup picks up a stick.
He does a little "very proud of myself" jog instead of his usual walk. His whole gait changes.
Also he puts his head on my knee and gazes at me like I'm the centre of hs universe sometimes..

Grin Love these.

When she can't contain her love for her doggy friends. She is so sweet & gentle.

She's the big Dobie.

KinkyAfro · 28/04/2016 20:57

My lab presses her snout against my nose and mouth and makes pleased noises. If I move slightly she'll twist her head so she's staring tight into my eyes, still making the noises

KinkyAfro · 28/04/2016 20:57

*right

LilCamper · 29/04/2016 09:14

My mini EBT is so proud of himself when he gets on his Lab brother's big boy bed. He gleefully flops around and rubs his shoulders all over it.

Aww, these are lovely. Our old dog does a happy bottom wiggle and our young dog lies down and refuses to move if he wants love!

twocultures · 29/04/2016 21:29

Mines a cockapoo.
Everything you say to her in an 'excited voice' makes her jump like 2 feet into the air ... Sometimes she does it when no ones paying her any attention e.g. As we are eating dinner she suddenly jumps up behind DPs chair (and I do mean she jumps high! You can see over half of her) and then if that doesn't do anything she switches to my chair.

If she's in trouble and I say "what did you do?" She lays down on her back with her paws all cute in front of her like a t-Rex and furiously wags her tail as if she's saying "I know I messed up but I'm so cute!" .

She usually keeps her distance a little through the day as DS loves pulling her fur but as soon as he's tucked in and I'm sat on the sofa she jumps up for cuddles, and I don't mean she sits on my lap she actually puts her head on my chest and just closes her eyes and I have to give her a proper cuddle.

I love it when DP comes back from work and the dog dashes down the steps and the driveway with her tail rotating like a helicopter blade.

And when she spies a rabbit on the common and sets off at a sedate pace while the rabbit races away at 100 x her speed. She trundles back with a pleased expression on her face that says "I nearly got him this time".

mercifulTehlu · 29/04/2016 21:53

When my German Shorthaired Pointer does a kind of groany pleased growl when you pretend to grab his favourite toys from him.

And when he nibbles at toys with his front teeth, making his nose squish and wrinkle up.

Gide · 30/04/2016 21:37

Mine are sent to get me out of bed: one puts his chin on my collar bone so he's as close as possible. Another lies on my chest. He's 25 kilos! He sulks if he can't get on my knee when we're downstairs and goes off into the kitchen til the knee is free. One steals shoes purely for the reaction. There are at least six toys but he takes shoes instead.

HoppingForward · 30/04/2016 21:42

Mine is a new rescue and she has just started smiling at me and when she gets excited her whole back end wags with her tail and she does a mad dash around with funny talking noises.

I'm so pleased we found each other.

BastardGoDarkly · 30/04/2016 21:50

My ridgeback cups his ears round in the strangest way, when we come back from somewhere, he doesn't do it any other time.

When he's about to go on a walk, he does this wag that travels all the way up his body, finishing in a bounce around.

I'm so in love with him :)

justdontevenfuckingstart · 30/04/2016 21:55

Our two hurtle around like fucking lunatics knocking everything and everyone over constantly Barking and drive us all crazy and then do this.

Wonderfulworcestershirelady · 30/04/2016 22:43

My new lab pup already does Labrador version of purring just like my previous labs did. It's a sort of growl but very different from a proper growl.

Fpmd1710 · 02/05/2016 00:32

Twocultures I also have a Cockapoo and everything you described is the same with my boy. My boy gets so excited when I come back, it's like he's not seen me for years, running in circles whilst trying to jump at the same time so he ends up tripping over himself (this happens even if I've just stepped out for 2 minutes to take the bins out Grin).

Abecedario · 02/05/2016 00:53

When he does his cute little stretch and yawn thing when he's just woken up, keeps his bum in the air but dips his body down and stretches out his front legs.

When he's not getting his own way he does these funny little sneezes, DP and I call it the sneeze of disapproval.

When he chases some pigeons or seagulls and they fly off and he comes strutting back like a big man all pleased with himself.

Occasionally he is given a sausage/part of a sausage and he'll be so delighted with it he has to take it out into the garden for a run round with it before eating it.

When he lies with his head on his front paws and looks all sulky but ridiculously cute at the same time.

Also when he sleeps upside down with his ears dangling off the sofa.

My lab sings (& dances) when she gets fed, but the cute rage factor is that she carries on giving excited little yips throughout her dinner, with her head still in the bowl. I just melt...

insan1tyscartching · 02/05/2016 15:36

When I take Eric on a walk that is new to him or one he really enjoys he does a little skip with his back leg every now and again just to let me know how happy he is.
When, before bed, he waits until I yawn and then jumps on my knee so that I rub behind his ears,he then collapses against me so that I can rub his tum and kiss his head to say goodnight.
When he cries because I've confiscated his toy because he's stolen something and won't give it back. He will drop it for ham but that just meant he was getting rewarded for stealing and he'd steal just to get ham so now if he doesn't drop it I take his toy and put it just out of reach. He immediately drops it now and sits crying for his toy instead Grin

BestIsWest · 02/05/2016 18:06

When he gets so tired he doesn't know what to do with himself he will scratch furiously at the floor for about five minutes then wander over to a different part of the room and collapse.

When he's really happy he curls his tail right over so its tip touches his back. You can gauge how happy he is by the curl of his tail.
