The doghouse

dog friendly beaches in Essex

We have had our boy for a year now and still haven't had the opportunity to take him to a beach. We think he will love playing in the water as he spends ages in the stream over our local park. The Essex/south Suffolk or possibly Kent coastline would be closest to us so wondered if anyone can recommend a good dog friendly beach we could visit over the bank holiday weekend?
Thanks

Some parts of the beach in Frinton on Sea/Walton are dog friendly, not sure where you are but Frinton is near Colchester.

Yes I know Frinton/Clacton and Little Holland, but wasn't sure if dogs are allowed on all beaches or if their were specific ones that are dog friendly?

I know that some of the Essex beaches don't allow dogs on them from May to September.

Mersea Island (few miles from Colchester) is dog friendly, especially Cudmore Grove. Check tides before you go as a long way to the water at low tide, although there are plenty of large drainage areas with clean water to swim in as well.
