He scratching his ears (which I clean regularly, have checked and aren't smelly) and scratching and chewing elsewhere too.
I can't see anything. He's quite his usual self in all other ways.

He's raw fed but I do use shop bough cereal based training treats sometimes. I am going to cut these out completely and just feed meat and veg to see if it's an allergy to a food ingredient.
Any other suggestions please for things to check/look for?
TIA

Hmm if he's upto date with flea treatments that shouldn't be the problem but you could try running a flea/nit comb down his back if he has a dark coat to see if you can find any evidence of fleas?
If not I'd probably say allergies if he doesn't have smelly ears. Cut out the cereal treats and see if it improves. Smile

My old boy had hayfever, around this time of year he used to go mad scratching, especially his ears and chewing his feet. My vet advised giving two Piriton tablets (he was a big mastiff x ridgeback). I also used to take him swimming in the river to wash all the dust off him. Could be worth asking your vet about?

Thanks very much. Now you mention it, I seem to remember this happened last year. I might try half a piriton tomorrow.

Could be hayfever - my dog's allergies are bloody awful at the moment and he's scratching like hell.

Mine is also allergic to chicken and beef, so I have to avoid those in all forms. I mainly go for lamb or pork.
