Reverse Sneezing in a Golden Retreiver

Morning guys
Our golden has had reverse sneezing and regular snotty ( sorry) sneezing now for 6 weeks. Vet a bit bemused and prescribed her a special worm treatment which needed to be ordered in from abroad ( I'm in Ireland). She still has it ( and the house/ car destroyed from the sneezing) and the dogs getting really upset now as she hates it. Anyone had any experience of it? Apparently it's a new thing only really seen in the last 6 months. May be caused by nose mites ( hence anti worm medication) thanks 🤗

  • when my dog had hacking cough and 'reverse sneezing' that kept me awake at night (he was well all the time and eating and walking as normal) I googled kennel cough and talking to other dog owners in my neighbourhood it was confirmed that there was a bit of an epidemic of this non-serious but annoying illness. (this was last year)

if he has been innoculated against KCough - it may be nose mites but it sounds like Kcough and it does take a while to clear up.

Thanks for your reply- she hadn't had that vaccine this year but I googled kennel cough and it really doesn't sound like that. I will try and put up a video and see what you think

Sorry not to be any help - if there is no hacking cough (but just a wheezy chest) it is probably not Kennel cough - the videos of KC affecting a dog are quite accurate.
Sounds more like some kind of allergy/mites - good luck and others may be more help.

Poor thing.

How has the sneezing ruined the car?
