I don't know why I'm posting really, I'm just so sad I don't know what to do.

We took our beloved dog to the vets this morning after an awful night where he couldn't get up and had a fit, he was almost lifeless and could barely move his head this morning, we sat up with him all night.

he'd been suffering from a heart condition for the last few years and was on a variety of medication. Yesterday he didn't eat at all, that was completely out of character for him, last month he'd spent a vast amount of time at the vets having treatment- this was very stressful for him, he hated to be away from us.

I knew what was coming, but I just feel so guilty. We stayed with him and stroked him whilst the vet gave him the meds, it was heartbreaking. I am devastated- I'm going to miss him so much. We brought him home so the children could say goodbyeSad

At the moment I can't see how we will get through this, I think I needed to share what's happened because I still can't believe he has gone.

X

So sorry for you. It's absolutely heart breaking but you have done a very kind thing. We had our old dog pts five years ago and I still think of her every day.

Focus on his long happy life.

This is the hardest part of being a dog-owner. You absolutely did the best thing for him but it's heartbreaking isn't it? So sorry for your loss x

I am so very sorry for your loss Flowers What you did was 100% the right thing to do. You put his wellbeing and happiness ahead of your own need to keep him with you. Please don't feel guilty.

Thanks for all of the supportive messages, I really appreciate the kind words.

Today has been so hard, we are all randomly crying, I can't stop thinking of ddog, I already miss him so much.

We've been looking at photos of him but I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not Sad

I do appreciate how lucky we were to have him for so long X

I'm so sorry.
Cry, look at photos, talk about him. All of that. Eventually you will mention him and look at photos without the tears choking you. But not tonight.
Flowers
You have done the kindest thing. You are suffering but your loved boy is not.
Run free Camden doggy. Xx

I'm so sorry for your loss Camden. We were in the same position a few weeks ago and even though I know we made the right decision it's still such a tough thing to do and a tremendous loss.

You absolutely did do the best and kindest thing for him, and more than that you gave him a long, loving and happy life.

Take good care of yourselves xx
