I am in the early stages of researching for a family pet and this breed so far seems the most suitable. Does anyone here have any first hand experience? Many thanks

Met one in the park for the first time the other day. It was very nice and calm, also patient with my wee Shih Tzu pup. I had thought it a Tibetan terrier until its owner informed me otherwise, so this could be another breed for your list!!

Nice; uncommon in the UK though so you'll probably pay more than for the more common little white fluffy dogs - Maltese, Bichon and anything-a-chons. The cynic in me wonders how tiny the gene pool is and suspects that if their popularity mushrooms, so will the incidence of atopy and other immune mediated disease in the breed, as has happened with French bulldogs, for example.
