Hi,
My special girl is a 16 year old BC who has been my shadow and constant companion through so much since she was teeny 7 week old puppy.
Recently the mammary lump started to bother her, and she went onto antibiotics and anti inflammatories which haven't really helped. Yesterday we had a discussion at the vets at the 2 options- the best of which was surgery today to remove the lump, though this depended on the outcome of chest X-ray once she was anaesthetised to make sure there were no secondaries. She became quite agitated overnight and went into the out of hours vet hospital for a drip as she was dehydrated. She isn't fit for surgery today and I'm just waiting for the results of the biopsy (will say if it's aggressive) and blood tests to consider next steps. If it's aggressive it will have spread and this is the most likely outcome.
I'm pretending I'm prepared but scared witless of what's coming. Home feels empty and lonely without my little shadow this morning.
