Experiences in changing insurance?

But of background, we've been with Argos insurance for 5 years since we got our GSD as a pup, she has a lifetime condition called Pannus and a urinary tract medication that she will always have to take, over the life of the policy we have made a couple of other claims for emergency treatment.

The policy premium has steadily increased over the years as to be expected from £23p/m in the first year to £40p/m last year (I know it's a lot but as we continually claim we were happy to pay this) however just had renewal through and it has now jumped to £65p/m (!) which we can absolutely not afford.

I was wondering of anyone can give us some experiences/guidance on switching insurance companies with a pre-existing condition and whether it is doable and who you have used?

TIA :)

A new company will not cover pre-existing conditions and while likely exclude all urinary disorders and some of the shadier ones would exclude bone conditions even though pan us typically is grown out of by the time they are two.

Can you get advice from your vet? How much are her meds/exams each month - are you claiming for those? Subtract that, then how much over the odds are you paying each month? Maybe worth it?
