This is a follow up question to my thread

"To crate train a puppy or not."

Where I wrote

"We are due to welcome in to our home a male King Charles puppy at the end of May. The dog will be our grown up daughters but for the next few years will be I imagine "our" family (three adults) pet.
We are all excited about this new addition to our family but we are little light on puppy (and dog) experience so are gathering as much information as we can before he arrives.
As my heading suggests we have no idea wether a crate is a good thing or not. My daughter I think is a little anti crate but the rest of us have not formed an opinion.
Advise and help please, thank you"

The overwhelming responce was YES CRATE TRAIN YOUR PUPPY.
So we would like your opinion on what type of crate, plastic or wire.
Thank you once again.

Wire. Do not underestimate the sharpness of a puppy's teeth! My JRT as a little pup managed to chew a chunk off his wire crate overnight, so would have completely trashed a plastic one!

The small size Argos is a very good cage. For house training you need one the right size for pup and move up as the dog grows. Apparently the dog is less likely to soil it's bed, so if there is spare space that will be the 'other' where he soils. Seems to be true tbh.

I believe you have to make the crate just large enough for the puppy to enter, turn around and sleep. If you allow extra space this becomes a toilet!!!
I wonder what to use to reduce the space inside the crate. Nothing chewable I imagine.
