We often talk about being careful about adverts on webistes for pups and also dogs on preloved here.
I just wanted to draw to everyones attention that the 6month period for the trial of blocking certain ads as champion by the Pet Advertising Advisory Group (PAAG) is coming to an end.
Certain websites including Gumtree, Pets4homes, preloved and Epupz put in filter that blocked amoung others underage pups for sale, illegal breeds for sale and puppies and kittens being swapped for games and watches.
An unbelievable 100,000 such ads were blocked in a 6 month period.
Now just opening it up for disscussion.

I think it is great that the PAAG got as far as undertaking this trial. I am not at all surprised that 100,000 adverts were blocked during the 8 month trial and I would be delighted if a decision was made by the PAAG and it's members to continue with the block.

That's the good stuff I've got to say! Smile At the end of the day, however, the PAAG is an advisory body and organisations follow it's regulation on a voluntary business.

Until bodies regulating the breeding and sale of animals (or indeed regulating any part of that sale chain) are given (or are subject to) real teeth, then I think we are not going to see a huge amount of change.

Meantime, I hope the block continues (but roll on the 'teeth' Grin ).
