The doghouse

Can anyone recommend waterproof shoes for dog walking please?

I have spent so much money on supposedly "water proof" walking boots and shoes since we got our dog.

I like to walk her though woods and across fields where there are shallow puddles and longer wet/dewy grass. Every water proof hiking shoe I see on amazon seems to have a review saying that peoples feet got wet from from wet/dewy grass while walking the dog.

I don't want boots as I already have a lovely pair which are waterproof and should last this winter and I find wellies really uncomfortable.

What I would really like is a pair of trainer/hiking type shoes for the next couple of months (as boots will be too hot) which are actually waterproof! Has anyone actually found any?

I have a pair of Berghaus walking shoes which are brilliant. Still get damp feet though as I find the bottom of my trousers soak up dew which then wets my socks!

mrsmiles can I totally miss the point and ask which boots you have? I had a pair of timberland earthkeepers for years, they were fab soft nubuck but waterproof, fell apart over the summer... they now don't seem to make them in the style I like.
Can't help with shoes, sorry Blush wear my wellies at the mo but they get a bit hot!

I think it's more the grass soaking socks and trouser bottoms than the shoes themselves not being waterproof. What about water proof socks like seal skinz?

Sadly in my case it's the shoes, I know because I've tried them with trousers rolled up and with no socks.

I wear Asics trainers lined with Gortex for my exercise sessions on grass, they work just fine but they won't last forever.

I've got cheapish karrimor walking shoes with goretex lining which do the job.

Prior to those I had a nice Salomon pair which were fab until the dog ate them.

Lol, at the dog eating them!

I've seen some karrimor shoes on amazon might take a second look. And at the Asics ones.

Thanks ladies
