Wee recently rescued a staffie who suffers when there is high pollen or warm weather. His skin gets itchy. ( i suffer fron being allergic to him too which is a nightmare. Hope it passes)

The kennel we got him from said piratin and a bath will help. Is it ok to give dogs human hayfever pills? he is going to the vet tomorrow but um worried as he is scratching and nawing his legs. its been quite warm here the last 2 days and pollen is med/high so i def think he is suffering a wee bit. I work in a chemist and we sell lots of Piriton and also goldeneye too. For dogs and horses!

Chlorphrniramine (Piriton) is used to help manage allergies in dogs, but your vet will be able to advise you if its appropriate for him, on dosage and also very importantly assess for other underlying or secondary associated skin problems and plan a long term strategy for managing the issue.
