Can I stop the puppy eating cat poo???????

Puppy has decided her fave delicacy is the poo done by the cats right at the back behind the trampoline. I can't get to it to clean it up first and frankly her breath just reeks plus she likes to lick faces Confused. Is there anything I can do?

Our puppy did this for a while but grew out of it. We don't have cats, I presume the poos were left by our neighbours' cats, but they stopped coming in the back garden once pups got to about a year old. I guess he was leaving his scent everywhere? This probably won't help if the cats are yours though!

We used some green gel crystals from pets at home to discourage cats from coming in the front garden at all, because the puppy would find poos there too, but I wouldn't use the crystals anywhere he couldn't be supervised. I wouldn't trust him not to eat those too!

Sorry, not much actual help there, but much sympathy!

I think most dogs will eat cat poo if given the chance because they like the taste. Something to do with the protein in it I think.
Best check for cat poo before letting dog into the garden, or keep her on a lead.

Sorry no advice just sympathy. Luckily the cats don't come in now but my boy will yum up cat poo at any opportunity.

Most dogs seem to think cat poo is wonderful, sorry!

cat poo is the best thing ever for dogs...you will have to watch her like a hawk and really practise "LEAVE IT!" ...good luck with that!

One of my previous dogs loved cat poo. Even now, cat poo in our house is known as Cat Fruit (ie fruit of the cat).

My current dog wont eat cat poo, but loves horse muck. Nice.

I sympathise, I have a very old cat who doesn't bury her poo properly and my dog loves it - it is a totally disgusting smell and he loves to come and lick faces! It's DH's job to clear it up regularly but you can't always catch it - if I know my old girl has been out I put him on a lead in the garden! He is 15 months so hope he does grow out of it doubt it
