The doghouse

my dog thinks she can't walk in her car harness

I have no idea why as she used to wear a harness as a pup anyway. I am taking her to a new training class today half an hour away in the car and my son has generally come with us in the past and he secures her into the back and sits by her, but today as I am alone I thought I would use the car harness.

She is wearing it now and is sitting bolt upright next to me and wont move and then if I move into the kitchen or elsewhere she follows me along on her belly! Shock It's not hurting her or too tight. Is it just another mad collie way?

If i leave it on they will think she is the most docile collie EVER at dog training! (don't worry i will take it off :))

My dog walks sideways, like a crab, if I put anything on him Grin

normally loop her lead through a c bracket (are they called that?) in the rear of the car - it's a people carrier so he sits next to her. I thought as I was on my own it would be safer to harness her on the back seat or even the front with her car harness Confused

She gets too distressed in her crate, absolutely hates it and she loves her crate when in the house

My friend has a whippet who is mostly fine with coats or harnesses, but she has one coat -a fluorescent yellow number- that must irritate her in someway as she rubs herself on anything if she's wearing it, sofas, legs, even my dog :o
