Walking on the beach yesterday and he decided the best way to get into the water was over some lovely big slippery rocks Hmm. He slipped and fell. He was fine for the rest of the walk/day.

This morning he woke up completely lame..back paw/leg off the ground. That lasted about an hr then he was putting it down and walking ok but with his leg slightly twisted out. I felt all around his leg and he's not crying out or showing pain. Just went out for a few hrs and he's been lying down, now completely lame again! Didn't run to the door when we came in.

He's also licking/chewing at his paw a lot?

Vets? ££££££?

The only reason I'm reluctant to take him is that he may of just pulled something? He was fine on the rest of the walk...he still jumped the five bar gate to get home!

I know what you mean though. £££ for a nothing injury, or wait and see and then feel extra bad when it is something.

Maybe rest tomorrow and wait and see?

It's all well and good saying sod the ££££.

I have pet insurance, but have to pay up front and claim it back at our vets. I'm not lucky enough to have ££££ just hanging around, hence why I have insurance.

I know. Been there recently. But if he needs to be seen then the money is irrelevent.

But if you aren't certain it needs to be seen now then you could wait and see.

My friends just come round and we managed to pin him down and have a good look

He's got an almighty gash in his paw between his toes Sad

Not bleeding but open. Do vets stitch or is it a leave it job? It's right between his toes?

Oh poor boy.

No idea about toe stitching.

Poor love, I'd give it a good clean, maybe trim the hair away so it doesn't stop the wound healing (if he'll let you!)

I'd get him checked out at the vets, just to be sure, but I guess unless its very deep they may leave it.

Poor boy, can you phone the vet for advice, ours gives advice over the phone at the weekend to see if it can wait till Monday. they may just tell you to keep it clean, he may need an antibiotic.
