A couple of puppy questions from a novice!

Sorry, I keep posting asking for advice but this forum is so good for information and advice so I keep coming back!

Our pup (11 weeks) has been wormed using Advocate and the vet has given me some more for when the next lot is due. I know he has to have it monthly but should it be 4 weeks to the day or date? (Prob a stupid question I know Blush

Also, pup keeps messing in his crate overnight. :( I take him out at about half 11 and again at 2am then up about 6 am but he keeps doing it and I don't know why. He loves his crate and goes in it throughout the day when he pleases (door only closed at night). I make a big fuss of him if he does go to the toilet outside too but I'm wondering if his mealtimes are all wrong. He has breakfast at 7 am, lunch at 1pm and dinner at 7pm, the same as when he was with the breeder but I'm wondering if I should give him lunch at 12 and dinner at 6pm instead. Do you think that would help? I can't keep up with all the bloody washing of his towels and blankets!

Thanks in advance.

I use advocate 4 weekly.

I would move his teatime earlier to 5 or 6 pm. I know everyone has a different opinion but I didn't get up with mine in the night as to me the whole point is to teach them to go all night. Obviously I would have if he had woken but I didn't automatically set the alarm. I was very lucky though as he got it very quickly but others do take longer.

Try vet bed in his crate. It is cheap enough on ebay and washes and drys really easily.

Thank you, I'll move his dinner forward to give him more time to do the deed then. What's vet bed?

It's a bedding material that is warm and cosy enough to use on its own but drys quickly. When my pup used a crate I got a piece big enough to cover a medium crate twice for about £12.
