Any recommendations for dog friendly beaches, South Coast?

Late in the day I know, but we'd love to take our dog to a beach tomorrow (she's a rescue, who joined our family in October and we haven't had the opportunity to take her to the beach until now), I've been looking at dog-friendly beaches on the Interweb and am struggling to find anywhere suitable. We're in Berkshire, so heading for the south coast ideally. Oh, and will be taking DH and DS1 and DS2 too!

Didn't want to leave you unanswered, but would steer away from the beach for two reasons at the moment.
Firstly I am also in Berkshire and can't think of anywhere nice that allows dogs at this time of year. Mobile mop goes to the beach October to April.
Secondly the heat that is expected today combined with travelling then good chance of drinking sea water as a vet I have seen lots of dogs with these combinations that end up with profuse vomiting and diarrhoea (symptom of mild heat stroke). At the moment mobile mop is walked before 8am and after 8pm too hot any other time.

Thanks both for your replies; we decided it was way too hot to go anywhere today so hid at home! Thanks for the advice Lonecat - to be honest I was concerned about Poochie being in the car for so long, especially if the sun had been shining straight into the boot as we don't have a back windscreen sunshield (although from my experience with the DCs those things arent that effective anyway). Think perhaps we'll stick with our local woodland pond until summer's over!
