Can anyone recommend a seller of martingale collars?

We have rehomed a gorgeous 3 year old lurcher but she needs a proper collar. I'd like to get a wide martingale for her but would rather buy from someone that is recommended. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Our lurcher has just got two new ones from Slouching Hound, and they are lovely. He also has one from Kitsch which is v pretty, but you do see a lot of them

Go to one of the greyhound rescue sites - they all sell the wide leather collars as well as martingale types and the proceeds help rescue more sight hounds. Here is the link to the Retired Greyhound Trust shop (the collars bit, they sell other stuff too): RTG

She's sort of large whippet size. Will a 2 inch width be too big? I was going to get a 1 1/2 inch width.

4 greys here, and a dedicated buyer of collar porn. Best quality we've found is 2 Hounds here - both their collars and their leads are superb quality, washable and still going strong, after many years hard work. The velvet leads in particular are supremely comfortable on the hand, look smart and wash beautifully - they go in the washing machine and come out like new.

Our biggest male grey has a 2" collar - all the others have 1.5". 2" will be too big for a whippetty girl.

Pop over to the 'Pointy hounds cushion', in the OP there are links to a few online shops that sell martingales :)

I second Silver Peacock, otherwise Collars R Us www.collarsrus.co.uk/ make some lovely ones, which they will also make to measure if your lurcher is not a standard whippy or grund size.

She will of course need I new coat at some point, personally I'd recommend these people [bsmile]

I can vouch for the amazing quality of these:

Each one is made to measure and I guarantee you'll have many people commenting on how fab your lurcher looks. Plus, for every collar sold, a contribution is made to Lurcher SOS, //www.lurchersos.org.uk a fantastic rescue that deserves all the cash you can spare to continue its vital work.
