Done. Wish I could help more but in rented accommodation with 2 of my own recues already. Glad to help raise awareness though.

Where are they based Doin? I'd love a greyhound (have talked to you before) but it needs to be a cat friendly one and not had any luck so far.

YourHand, Shadow (cat friendly) is awesome I had him with me a while back, although he is has resource guarding issues so is only recommended to be with older children, who will know not to snatch anything from him and the lovely Sasha is cat friendly, she is due to turn up here soon.

We are based in the NE but can rehome all around the north and Scotland and could possibly travel further afield for the right home.

I will look into Greyhound Gap and going to share the dogs on Lurcher Link soon.

have liked and shared most of my friends though are cat people, four cats and a rescue hound here already so much as i love greyhounds i cant take one on but hopefully some more publicity will help

Shadow is lush, isn't he? I really miss him here. He moved up to Scotland because he just wasn't get any interest up here and a new fosterer needed a cat friendly, so it opened up an extra place, since my cat has about 8 homes and has mainly moved himself to the dc's room where he gets hand fed, so having cat friendlies is not so important to us because we can keep them separate.

We may be looking for a friend for pimmsdog in May when DH is back from abroad and we know where we will be living next, if the whole family is going abroad we will hold off as it is expensive to ship 1 dog let alone 2 and I think DH would say no, because he's mean

Would so so love a greyhound but no one will rehome to us as we live in a flat with no garden even though I work from home all day and there are miles and miles of wood walks down the side of our house.

Happy, GRACE will consider all circumstances. A flat will not be an issue if you can show that you are willing and able to give regular toilet breaks. A puppy wouldn't be suitable for a flat but one of the older dogs would be fine.

Doin I am in love, she is gorgeous. DH isn't home until the end of April but if either of them are still with you then I will be making sure he is looking. Blue does look like scooby doo

If we get settled in a place with a garden one day I'll be heading for a pointy before we're even unpacked.

We had to put down my mums 17 year old lurcher right before christmas. I still expect him to be there when we visit. He was the best dog ever amd just so friendly

We have a rescue greyhound already, our ex racer is such a beautiful daft softie, I do think as a breed they are very misunderstood, he's the most brilliant dog and I'd recommend a Greyhound to anyone, you can't not love them

I am a bit in love with Warren, I am particulary loving the 101 ways to lay full length spread on the floor, typical hound!

Flint and Pippa are both gorgeous.

Dooin, can you tell me a bit about how much exercise GHs need? I've only ever heard crap-disguised-as-fact so not entirely clear in my mind.

A greyhound will manage very well on two twenty minute walks per day (unless it's raining or snowing, in which case they will look at you like you are some kind of murderer if you try and make them go outside) with 2-3 off lead runs in a secure area if you have one close, if not, then on lead is fine, they're very adaptable. They'll walk for longer if you want them to, but 2 x 20 mins is fine, they're very lazy, laid back dogs, really all they need is a sofa, food and cuddles, anything else is a bonus in their minds

Lurchers depends on what they're crossed with a full sightound mix (e.g Greyhound x whippet) will be the same as a greyhound but a collie x might need more depending on how much collie is in them.

All of GRACE's dogs are fostered in a home, so the foster carer will be able to give details on specific dogs as to what routine they're in and how we feel they'd cope with less/more exercise etc.

Our greyhound doesn't need a huge amount of exercise and he's an ex racer

He goes out for 20mins in the morning, just round the block, sleeps all day (whether we're in or not), a neighbour goes in during the day to let him in the garden for a wee, and then he goes out again at night for a longer walk

He does love a run, but does 2 laps and is worn out and literally can't be bothered to run anymore. We only let him off if it's totally deserted as he's not great with other dogs coming up to him - if he doesn't get a run he's still quite happy with a 30min wander about the park.

Laziest dog I've ever known Loves a fuss though and very friendly and biggest softie ever
