We ended up with a gorgeous 9yr old recue Lab last year, at the time. DH was working from home.

In December his work stopped that and he now has an hours commute. The dog was going to be alone from 08:30 to 15:30 so we sorted to use a dog waler fr an hour midday.
We stopped her over the Christmas holidays, she seemed fine with that, she left a note saying shed made a note in her diary to start back on the 7th of Jan though DH phoned the day before to confirm the arrangement.

She used to leave a note every day telling us where he'd been,we've had no notes this week though. The dog is calm and happy when DS gets home and not desperate to get out.

DH is going to text the dog walker and check that all is ok. A dog couldn't be happy and calm being left that long, could they?

Our boy's daycare forgot to pick him up once and I knew the minute I got in from work. Even the way he was standing oozed hyper! Only you know your dog though, so if you're at all concerned give her a call. Or if you aren't keen, can you do something tomorrow that would make it obvious if she's been or not? Maybe leave his lead with something small on top of it so she has to move it.

DH was at home today, he was on the phone when the dog jumped up and left the room, when he finished the call he realised he was gone - with the dog walker. Grin
We'd worried for nothing though if they'd never left notes before we'd never have questioned it.
I'm just glad he's happy.
