We are adopting a dog from a rescue in Cyprus and her name is currently something fairly hard for the DC to pronounce - any suggestions as to a new one? She's a scruffy-looking golden creature but very cute.

all of my dogs (and my mums) have always had names ending in y or ie!

think

Polly
Molly
Dolly
Holly
Poppy
Daisy
Katy
Tilly
Milly
Penny
Gilly
Ginny
Rosie
Susie
Nelly

etc

but you may not be as mad as we are

I like Boris but she's a girl! And I never object to bit of bitchiness...

I also like a few in the first list - some are the names of cousins or friends' children so should probably avoid those.

Nico
Mable

Do you want a "human" name or a "dog" name?

probably not Mabel then, if even adults can't spell it Blush

Either human or dog - not bothered really. Just want something the DCs can pronounce, although not necessarily spell Wink

how old are your children? you may find they have their own ideas on what the dog is called anyway :o

We have recently had a rescue pup, she was called something else we decided she looked like a Molly, so chose Molly. My daughter has decided her name is Mo Hmm

My grandma had a scruffy blonde dog when I was growing up. Apparently my teenage hormonal mum (had just had me!) burst into tears at rescue centre declaring her so scruffy she was sure to be pts if they didn't have her.

She was called Sparky and was the worlds most patient lovely dog.

Penny (fan of that character in Big Bang Theory!), also like Lola, Ruby, Cally (?), Tally (?), Annie, Estie, Carly, Jazzy, lol to Fire Mable/Mabel!! Which rescue is she coming from in Cyprus - I follow some on Facebook and they have some lovely dogs. Interested to know how much it cost you for adoption/transport (if you don't mind me asking...). How's it going OwlLady?

yes links to rescue charity please , we're looking for one

Lovely suggestions, thank you. We are getting her from a charity which rehomes specifically to forces families but I'll get a link to the main charity and post it here asap. It's going to cost us 300 euro but she's chipped and snipped and has a pet passport.

how is it going with my dogs ladyturmoil or in general? :) The dogs are fine. Older dog got over her gastritis and hasn't had any more problems. Little dog is fine, a bit barky at anything remotely different, like balloons for example :o but all is fine. She has grown loads but that means she is still skinny as all the food must be making grow in height rather than weight!

DD has suggested Gypsy because she's travelled a long way. What do people think of that?
