After numerous skin boipsies, scrapes etc on our Lhasa Apso the results have come back inclusive and a diagnosis of dermatitis. However i've been doing tons of internet research on what could be causing his skin problem and i'm now convinced it's Sebaceous adenitis which Lhasas can be prone to. The images and symptoms i've seen match completely.
Has anybody got a dog that has this condition or can offer any advice regarding treatment? I see that oil baths are supposed to be very effective.
At the minute he's on antibiotics for a secondary bacterial infection and steroids for inflammation and i'm bathing him once or twice a week in malaseb. He is however getting no better and now the hair on his back is starting to fall out and become rather bald.
The good thing is that he has no idea he has it as it's not itchy and it is purely a cosmetic disease that has to be very carefully managed by the owner.
Anyone offer any words of wisdom?
