We're picking up a puppy tomorrow (so excited!) and my son was sick at school , there's a bug going round. Can dogs get our viruses?

I don't think that there are many diseases we share.

I was most insulted when someone once suggested my kids had caught worms from the dogs, a) dogs don't get thread worms and b) all my dogs are regularly dosed with wormer - wish I could do the same to the kids! Grin

pretty certain the puppy won't get it but do watch for him eating anything that comes out of your son (it adds a whole new meaning to the grossness of children and sick bugs) Grin

Thanks, thought it was OK but getting pre-puppy nerves!

Have had a (grown-up) dog before so I know the foul things they'll eat though Grin

Only if it is salmonella or campylobacter can the puppy catch. I have known this to happen once in 14 years and actually the child was immunocompromised due to leukaemia treatment so was actual very I'll when pup arrive. So highly unlikely.
