Hi all I'm after a bit of advice please. Ive got a littler of 6 week old border collies, They have been crate trained from the day they were born. They are quite happily eating puppy food and drinking water from a bowl, and if they can sneaking a quick feed from mum when she lets them which isn't that often now.

The last week one of the puppies will not settle in the crate though if we put them in there he cries he cries at night any ideas as to what we can do as i don't want him to go to his new home like this and pass the problem on thanks.

It's not a problem I've come across but our most recent pup hate, hate, hated the crate from the minute we got her and so we just didn't use it. I suppose there will always be someone who doesn't get on with it.

Still. You've got 2 weeks to sort the problem out I suppose. It's a tough one. What has changed over the past week? Daylight? Temperature in the whelping box? Space? Is it a different vet bed or washing powder?

I assume he's already had a once over by the vet since he has had this change in behaviour? If he hasn't that would be my first priority.

Is he in the crate with all his siblings? Is he getting on with them all out of the crate? Is he eating enough or is he getting pushed aside by the others?

I'll keep thinking. There has to be a reason for such a sudden change in behaviour.
