Broken glass - picked it up and put it in bin.

'Silent' cyclists racing up behind me

Deer - not a problem , dog on lead and she didn't notice them.

People having picnics - not a problem , distracted lab with treats as we walked past - all good , got her on lead . Let her off lead about 100 yards past them and what does she do ? Runs back to where the picnickers were Blush, luckily the people were dog friendly Ok and quite glad she hoovered up the crumbs and introduced their young children to her .

Horses - not a problem too busy with her nose in a picnic !

And the best - 'They're playing ' response Angry !
when I tell a Jack Russell owner to call her dog off when it is chasing my lab , barking , growling , jumping at my dogs neck , and my dog yelping ! First time I have ever challenged , or have had to , another dog owner !

Other than that a lovely day !

I encountered several walkers. The usual dog walker lady with loads of dogs who went the other way, luckily as it's a bit of a melee when we meet Grin

And two stupid pheasants who flew out making an awful racket in front of my spaniel. He almost caught the first one.

Pretty normal really

My old dog once devoured a whole baguette from someones picnic whilst in Hatfield Forest Blush she was so naughty, I blame it on her being a stray for quite a while, so she would snatch whatever she could.

I hate JR's (sorry to anyone that has one), when Lily was a pup we went to a puppy party where a JR attacked Lily, the vet kept saying 'she will stick up for herself in a bit' (she's a srtaffy and may look hard but is a wimp).

Anyway, we have been unable to go for our walk today as dh is working and dd2 is too poorly to go for a walk, so the dog is sat infront of me whining with that look on her face 'walk please', we are lucky to live in the middle of nowhere and rarely see anyone when we go out appart from a few people on horse back (Lily is fine with horses).

Glad you enjoyed your walk x

We had a lovely walk this morning. It was really warm and gorgeous. One of our greyhounds practically exploded with excitement as he encountered a super ninja Special Forces squirrel. First it went up the tree, as per normal. Greyhound did normal ineffectual but amusing bouncing action while uttering pathetic squeaks of excitement. Squirrel then kept coming back down the tree almost as if to taunt the greyhound, driving him in to a frenzy of delight. Eventually the super ninja squirrel decided to jump off the tree, land in front of the greyhound, bounce cutely over the grass and then climb another tree in a leisurely fashion, pausing only to look nonchalant and casual, and make minor adjustments to his balaclava. Greyhound, who was on lead at the time, was so excited he actually forgot to go forwards and went backwards (he has very little brain Grin). All the excitement wore him out and after returning home, he ate his breakfast and has been asleep for most of the day.

Scratch the tawny owls, they were short eared owls.

1st walk was very early and foggy! Pup found a long dead bird and tried to entice me into a game of tuggy with it. Lovely.

This afternoon met a lovely lab puppy who I could have smuggled home inu pocket.... And a silly cow lady with a collie who tried to herd me and DTs up. Her response was "ah, well, hes a border collie, and y'know..."
WTF??! I drive an big car, doesn't mean I randomly run people over for a laugh!

We had a lovely walk in the sunshine too, with some friends and their dogs. Unusually, we didn't meet anyone else or any other dogs! But the birds were singing and it was gorgeous.

We went to the beach today Smile Beautiful weather and pup chased tennis balls in the sea.

We walk on the sand most days but it is usually just dog walkers there. The sun was out today so it was full of people and litter Sad

Dogs and friends I only see at weekends because I usually walk at 5am. Lovely to catch up - dog2 excelled herself and came straight back every time I whistled. Especially good as she was scoffing god knows what on the beach!
