How can I find a reputable breeder?

My dp has wanted an English bull terrier since he was a young lad, and now that our youngest it about to turn two, I think later this year or next year would be a good time to get one so it's used to small children as well as the older ones.

I'm wary about breeders, I know alot who seem good just churn out puppies every year or so with the same bitch. I really want someone who breeds for the love of the breed and not the profit and who has had the parents health checked etc but not sure where to find someone like that in the NW.

I guess the 1st thing you should do is contact the breed club. They can give you details of members that breed.

They may also have details of resue Bullies that need rehoming that you could look into?

Be prepared to wait a long time. Decent breeders will have a lot of questions and will normally have a long waiting list.

What Misery said...also

check yourself which health tests are normal for the breed, so you know what they are, ask them why they breed (really the right answer should be that they want one of the puppies and the rest of the litter would be what they would be selling)

Be very very wary of anyone who has puppies they can sell you immediately and anyone who owns both parents.
