Why my dog is brilliant

I had to rehome some of my chickens yesterday due to us moving, and I'm miserable about it. I also have horrific period pains. Jasper has decided I need cheering up, so he has taken to bringing me all of his 'treasures' (think: destuffed meerkat, skanky old shoe lace, a yoghurt pot and a bit of ripped towel). When that didn't immediately make me feel better (I know! What's wrong with me, eh?!), he got up on the sofa and is now laid across my lap like a living, breathing hot water bottle. I am rubbing his floppy spaniel ears and you know what? It does make me feel better. He keeps looking at me with a world weary expressiona s if to say 'This is a chore for me, you know. I'd much rather be charging about like a nutjob and trying to eat bees. But if you need me '.

Aw, what a wonderful dog.

My husky cross is wonderful because he looks just like a wolf and when he 'woo-woos' because he is happy, you can't help but smile too. The smile on his face when he comes running towards me makes my day every day. Also, he is very dignified and sensible and knows that he is a superior being.

Our other dog is a scamp and makes me laugh with his undignifed antics.

mine are both gorgeous, my Zac baby is on the sofa across the room watching me with his beady eyes and Keller has just got fed up with lying on my feet!

This makes me sob a little bit. My lovely GSd was pts last week.
Sob.
But your dogs sounds wonderful.
My old boy used to nuzzle his head into my lap when I was upset. About anything. I miss him.

my dog is brilliant because I can talk to him in whole sentences "Chief, why don't you go round the stile instead of under it" and he does! That kind of thing + he looks permanently worried and I love his silly face.

Sad Stringcheese, sorry for your loss.

My dog is brilliant because he convinced us all he was stupid, when actually he just CBA Grin

Plus he just slotted in to our family as if he had always been there, and helped us get over the loss of our previous dog.

My dog is brilliant because she loves a good cwtch. even though she weighs about 6 stone she loves nothing better than climbing on to your lap and giving you dead legs.

if you look at my profile you will see a pic of her sitting in her favorite position. Always makes me laugh.

Cos he is a raving loony of a springer but so brilliant and a complete softie with DS. Apart from being too happy and hitting him with his very waggy, but hard, tail.

DS lolls all over him, using him as something for his toys to climb up, can take any dog toys off him and the dog just loves the attention.

Like your spaniel OP he also brings us he random precious things to make us happy - my particular favourite is a slimy hide chew.

LOL, mumatron!

I have three dogs right now and they are all brilliant. Dog number three only arrived last Sunday, she is a foster puppy, and her arrival has somewhat annoyed my other two. BUT, this morning we were at the dog park and a husky decided to terrorize the foster puppy and she was running away and obviously scared, I couldn't get across to her fast enough but dog number 1 charged in and had a good go at the husky on her behalf. Once you're in our pack, we stick together!

Dog number 2 has bad hip dysplasia and has been on metacam since she was 3, she's now 9. At the dog park this morning she joyfully played fetch with the ball and even out-ran some much younger dogs to get there first. When we got home she couldn't walk up the stairs and I carried all 80lb of her. She suffers, but she loves to run and I'm not about to take that away from her.

Dog number 3 is a 4 month old newf cross, how could she not be brilliant?! Pic on profile of her. :)

Oldie is brilliant because she knows us better than we know ourselves, will always be in the right place at the right time and is great with the foster pups and really keeps order in my house. She is certainly the organiser in our household.

No 2 dog is the peace maker of the dogs and the dc's. He will go and sit between them if a disagreement takes place and wiggle his ears and tilt his head until they all start to laugh. He is also pretty good at competition obedience.

No 3 dog is brilliant as he is my DD eyes - she is blind and although not trained officially as a guide dog will guide her everywhere safely - I mean everywhere, they went to Glastonbury last year.

No 4 dog is brilliant because he is a loon and wins big agility competitions and makes me feel like a fab trainer (although it is just because he is sooooo clever and really does not need any training at all)

No 5 dog is brilliant because he is a very very nervous little lad but has worked so hard and everyday shows me how hard he is working to get more confident and how willling he is to trust me and he has the silkiest ears and smells divine.

No 6 dog is brilliant because he is my stooge dog and will spend hours with me helping to build other dogs confidence and train those playful puppies on polite dog manners

No 7 (well officially a foster dog) is brilliant because he has just fitted in and can already empty my tumble drier for me whilst wagging his tail non stop.

Dogs 8, 9, 10, 11,12 - dumped litter of staffies found on my doorstep on Monday night are brilliant because they are little gems who just love playing around at midnight but then sleep all morning Smile

Mumatron - I love that picture!

My dog has got his best mate here this evening. He's being a very nice playmate and has got all of his toys/bones/half eaten rawhide chews out of his basket to share with her. Right now he's still mooching with his head in the basket to see what else he can tempt her with.

My dog is brilliant because she knows when the postman drops the mail and fetches it for me. She loves to cuddle and has been my hot water bottle many a times in winter Smile

She is most brilliant of all for being an amazing mum. She is calm and caring and the puppies are as happy as can be. Photos on my profile, if anyone wants to look. I am a sucker for cute puppy antics, although ours just eat and sleep at the moment Grin

My dog is like Bitter&twisteds. Plus he's a dachshund and kids just love a sausage Smile. And he's perfect for draping across a lap (or two)
