Help! My 6 months working cocker was spayed on friday. she was very sleepy that night but the next morning she seemed back to normal. We have been trying really hard to keep her calm and resting but it is proving impossible. She is tring to jump on the sofa and going up and down stairs all of which the vet advised against. We are taking her on very short lead walks. Apart from putting her in her crate for long periods i dont know how to stop her bouncing around. If left in her crate she tries to lick her wound despite wearing a tshirt as advised by vet.

Should i be overly worried by her level of exercise? I am worried she is doing damage to herself.

we had a similar situation. I used the crate a lot for 3 or 4 days.
Is she wearing a collar so she can't lick herself ? After then I took it to mean that if she felt able to jump up and around then she was ok.

I have taken the week off work so i can keep an eye on her. We didnt get a collar , the vet recommended we put one of the childrens tshirts on her which seems to largely doing the job. My DH thinks she is probably fine or she wouldnt be tearing around but i am worried about whats going on imternally.
