Here.

Those who know what one of my three dogs is will especially see why I'm posting this.

We were at the vets with our moggie and a man came in and said his dog young (female) had been "got at". I thought he meant attacked but he meant mated. He asked how much for the injection to stop her getting pg. £30.

Then asked how much for a life termination ie PTS. £30.
He went out. The receptionist was Shock.

Don't know what happened next, he didn't have dog with him, but Sad he was considering PTS as an option. Neutering would've been a better option.

Didn't know what you meant. But have been thinking - need up to date photos of Dogsy in case he goes missing.

Whatever, but I'm not sure I know what YOU mean! :o

The photo is a reminder to do as the wording says, my comment above is because I have a long haired white German Shepherd... just like the dog in the photo. :(

What I mean - is - if my much wanted dog is lost (he is microchipped) an up to date photo could help him be re-unified with us and not PTS because he is "lost".

How heartbreaking :(

It really ought to be compulsory to neuter an animal if its not a health checked breeding animal.

And you ought to be licenced by the government to breed in the first place.

Which wont happen because it costs money.

My pupstar is going to be neutured soon. Just had her second season, not going to breed - not 'show standard' although she is a v pretty girl.

DBF that photo made me gulp. I know many white shepherds and it breaks my heart to see one pts for nothing. Sad

Remember it is not just the white shepherds - that could be any dog and is everyday. There needs to be more hard hitting advertisements like this to show people the facts of life in this country regarding dog welfare Sad

Excellent post DBF

Absolutely notmeagain - in fact, white Sheps are the lucky ones, their colour making them far more desirable to potential adopters than the poor, ignored brindle Staffie or black Greyhound.

Hey, we just adopted a black Greyhound. I had no idea they weren't completely beautiful!

Sad at your OP.

oh I know it isnt just white sheps. Sad

I love Brindle staffies, those are my favourite coloured ones. And I said to DH that if when we have more dogs it will be a rescue grey.

I have a brindle staff, :0) she has just had her first season, is on the vets list to be spayed asap and we are hoping to get her a friend next year. This time it will be a rescue staff not a pet shop puppy. Thanks to mn for educating me.......
