earlier this year when My husband brought home a 10wk Staffordshire pup as a birthday present for me, I thought I would go insane, I had no idea what to do and was very stressed. Thanks to all of you on here with your words of wisdom and help I now have a beautifully well behaved, loving and well fed 6mo dog who is the light of my life, my house has survived (mostly) and so has my sanity. I finally realiesed we made it when walking her the other day I stopped to chat to friends and they commented how well behaved and happy she looked, and these were the people who thought I was bonkers for having a so called devil dog in my house. Am feeling very smug now, and although I know we have some fun and games to come (she has started the adolescent phase this last couple of weeks) I know I can cope with whatever she does, and that if I'm at the end of my rope I can always come on here for help and advice. Long live mumsnet and the doghouse!

Glad things have worked out well for you. It makes me all gooey inside when non doggy people comment on how well behaved my hooligans angel dogs are. Grin So can imagine how good you felt.

The Doghouse is taking a bashing at the moment, so it is nice to read that it has helped some people.

Keep socialising the puppy, keep up the daily training and things will settle down again in a few months. The 'teenage' years are indeed trying times.

My 'puppy' turned 1 yesterday and I have really noticed how much she has calmed down to a frenzy over the past few months.
