sorry just thought I would update on how the fear aggression training is going a couple of weeks on.
We have been trying to ensure that only positive experiences are had, but obviously this is out of my control a lot of the time, been using clicker training to distract, keep her attention on me, and reward for good interactions with other dogs.
we have been to the park today and she was approached by puppies off lead when she was on lead, she initially looked a bit tense so I used clicker to get her attention to me then let her start the interaction again, she did great, also a german shepherd off lead greeted her and she again had no reaction, in fact went back to her usual stanse of complete submission, which she was rewarded for.
My reactions are definatly improving to other dogs approaching.
yesterday she was approached by 2 border collies off lead when she was on, they appeared ffrom round a fence and I will confess I was terrified as I couldnt see the farmer, she had absolutly no reaction, just greeted and carried on walking, one of them even followed us up the road to sy hello again.
I definatly still would not trust her off lead in the park (which is where all the aggresion has been) yet, but am going to take her to the woods tommorow so she can have a good run.
Her obediance in general has improved as well, I think because we are focusing on her so much when on walks she is walking perfectly to heel most of the time and certainly not pulling.
I am so pleased that we got help when we did and am hoping we can get through this completly and return to my lovely friendly dog soon.

Thanks for posting this. I have just booked my 2 year old dobie onto some one to one training to tackle fear aggression due to lack of socialisation (by her previous owner). Its great to read that with proper help the problem can be overcome and am very much look forward to a time when I can walk my dog without any fear of her reacting badly to another dog.
