Hi
Just got an 8 week old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy and can't decide on a name for her. Alreday have a 20 month old RR called Mia and had decided on Lila but this little pup is very chunky, very fiesty and doesn't really suit it. I like Pip but no-one else does so please help!

Thank you

i really like pip too.
do you like to give nicknames as well? we do Blush. so for pip you can say pippa, pippy, toodly (pip), pip the pip etc. i mean when she is older and used to her name of course

It's not a bad plan to have a two-syllable name (easier for them to recognize).

think about when they are both older off lead and you call 'mia, come' and '?, come'

i have 3 dogs and have chosen very different names as after looking after friends dogs over the years i realised that it was easier for me to say multiple names if they didnt start with the same letter or end with the same sound

Thanks for all suggestions so far, am drawing up a list: I love lola and ruby and yes I am terrible for giving nicknames. Keep them coming lol!

ooo ruby is lovely
re the multiple names, ours spend a lot of time off lead and i might be giving a few commands eg telling one to come back, another one to fetch something, another one to go and look for ds, etc so important to me to say their name and then command.

Rhoda?

They're chunky buggers aren't they? Someone in mum & dad's village has a pair - one ran out into the road and hit/got hit by a car. He had a small cut to his leg, the car was written off!
