When I first got my dog I got a really nice dog bed from PAH with a removeable cover. So I could wash the cover but the stuff inside was some sort of funny fleecy stuff that can't be washed. At least I assume it can't as it looks like it would fall to bits in the machine. Dog loved it but even with regular cover washing it was a bit smelly.

So I then got her a single duvet and cover and can wash all of it. So no smell but I don't think its as comfy for the dog.

She's making her displeasure known by sneaking on the sofa at every opportunity much to DH's displeasure. Last night took the biscuit when I found her in bed with DD. Which DD thought was great but I'm not very impressed by.

So are there any comfy beds where the whole thing can be washed?

Our old doggie has two single duvets stuffed inside a bean bag cover. I fold them up for him so, in effect, he has a quadruple layer to sleep on. Not to say though that he doesn't prefer a sofa - just that he doesn't get a chance to use the sofa when we're in bed.

'Dd1's' dog sleeps in what looks like a hareem, she has filled it with that many pillows, blankets and cushions. She still gets on the sofa at every given opprtunity.

Pillows are v good at being washable though.

My two have a double duvet smooshed into their crate. They love it. Especially my Staff who loves to rearrange everything when I've just tided up in there!Grin

I wonder if anyone has ever bought their dog his/her own sofa? I'm sure you can get a cheap one from ikea that wouldn't be too big but I'll bet the dog still jumps onto the human couch.

What about a cot bed mattress? I won't be as big as a regular one and would have washable covers

We use two single duvets, with covers folded in two but doglet will always choose a sofa given half the chance!! Grin he just doesn't get a choice at night and is only allowed downstairs anyway.

Thanks, sounds like another duvet to make it a bit more confy is the way to go. Smile I haven't got space for a dog sofa or I'd get her one!
