You could do something about stupid idiots who don't look after their dogs? Angry

My DH just came home and found two dogs at our front door. A black lab/x and a dacshund pup. They turned out to belong to someone a few doors down and apparently they have two puppies, plus the 6 month ish old lab x. They hardly never walk the lab x and it is very overweight, my DH had to hod the lead while we took it home as it nearly pulled me over. The puppy was also fat.

These people frequently leave them in their garden for hours on end barking/crying, even though it is freezing cold. A while ago the lab x was left with my friends next door neighbour and they left it in the garden until gone midnight. When my friend mentioned it the next day they said the owners told them just to leave it outside all the time. Sad

Both dogs were lovely, especially the lab x, which was beyond excited to find some human who'd give it some attention.

I have spoken to the lady owner before and she seems nice, but I can't abide people who don't look after their dogs. She didn't know they were missing. I jokingly said 'he's going mad, you want to get him out for a walk' to which she replied 'yes, he's mental, we've just had im done as well to try and calm him down, but it didn't work'. This annoyed me so I said 'it won't calm him down, a good walk will' and she replied 'yeah, but you can't see him on the beach'. WTF!!!

I just wish there was some way of stopping numpties like this own pets. If the dog was as underweight as he is over, the RSPCA would intervene, but there's no-one that will do anything about these poor dogs and it's such a shame.

Sorry, pointless really, but I needed to rant.

You can't see him on the beach???? Confused

There are a few dogs in my neighbourhood I'd like to rehome myself. Since when does letting your dog wander unsupervised on the front street/in the alley count as either a) safe or b) exercise?
