Anyone watching this tonight?

It's a guilty pleasure of mine blush

beingagoodmumishard Wed 02-Oct-13 22:01:39

Mine too grin

smugmumofboys Wed 02-Oct-13 22:13:31

Watching it for the first time tonight.

Loving it.

Dumpylump Wed 02-Oct-13 22:16:39

I love it...especially the two half-pissed posh sounding ones. He is particularly hilarious. Last week when he was going on about Lady Mary from Downtons unfeasibly short arms I was in hysterics grin

Amandine29 Wed 02-Oct-13 22:24:12

Yes I love the posh couple too! I think everyone does grin

What do you think about the new families? I'm not too keen on any of them really. My favourites are the posh couple and the families with kids, especially the dad with his sons.

smugmumofboys Wed 02-Oct-13 22:28:26

The posh couple are hilarious.

Dumpylump Wed 02-Oct-13 22:30:21

I like them all, but the poshos are the best! I really enjoy watching Sandy and Sandra's faces too...they're very expressive when they don't like something!

SoleSource Wed 02-Oct-13 22:34:24

I love this prog. Thirteen episodes smile

tammytwigg Wed 02-Oct-13 22:37:01

Love love it am in hysterics

MunchkinsMumof2 Wed 02-Oct-13 22:43:30

Love love love this grin Was feeling really sad last week before watching it and it genuinely cheered me up.

SoleSource Wed 02-Oct-13 22:44:15

Where are my arms grin

Tailz Wed 02-Oct-13 22:44:30

It is the best program on tv at the moment.

NoelHeadbandz Wed 02-Oct-13 23:26:36

I was absolutely CRYING at the lost my arms thing, literally weeping with laughter

Dammit I missed tonight's though- will have to catch up

TheCrackFox Wed 02-Oct-13 23:41:17

I love this programme.

The posh couple are very entertaining.

Vivacia Thu 03-Oct-13 10:51:30

I love this too (oh the shame) but I can't believe you all like the posh couple!

SoleSource Thu 03-Oct-13 15:35:05

The posh couple laugh at the poshness of the posh people on the telly. Ironic that grin

SoupDragon Thu 03-Oct-13 15:39:12

I only saw a small chunk of this week's episode - I"v never seen it before. I loved the segment where they showed the viewers watching Suzannah Reid on Strictly and they were all singing and dancing or tapping their feet apart from one family who were sitting in stony silence

smallandimperfectlyformed Thu 03-Oct-13 15:42:17

I think the family who were sitting in stony silence are one of the few families I don't like but admittedly I don't respond well to change. The posh family mentioned the short arms again yesterday!!

clangermum Thu 03-Oct-13 17:38:27

The Kevin McCloud stuff was hilarious

fussychica Thu 03-Oct-13 18:10:19

Not seen this weeks episode yet but was crying with laughter at the short arms last week. It's actually waaaaaay funnier than most programmes billed as comedies grin
Miss the family of grown lads & their dad though.

I've just found this programme on catch up and love the pissed posh couple.

"My arms are getting shorter" grin

Love this!!

The posh couple are hilarious but I do wonder if they know that they too are 'utter arses' grin

I love this and am so glad its back. I love the posh couple, I always think of LaQueen when I watch them.

The family with the son and daughter are good, so are the two women with the Jesus sticker on their tv. I quite like the new family with the grown up son, from Essex although already irritated by that german guy.

DH and I were in hysterics watching Downton after Gogglebox.

I've found another episode!

Love Sandy and Sandra.

2children2cats Thu 03-Oct-13 20:36:08

I love it! Watching with my dad who would be a perfect candidate for the next series!!

nocarsgo Thu 03-Oct-13 20:42:48

I love Sandy and Sandra too! Noticed one of them using a Pot Noodle pot as a drinks receptacle last week grin

Somethingpink Thu 03-Oct-13 20:47:18

The posh couple were on four in a bed a few weeks back..they are the best grin

Davros Thu 03-Oct-13 20:58:31

Just watching. Loved the reaction to Kevin McLeod in the shower "that's not one for the wank bank". Priceless!

FrillyMillylovesPollosHermanos Thu 03-Oct-13 21:14:37

I love this show! When I grow up I want to get pissed with DH and watch tv like the posho couple. It made me laugh when his Halloween straw made a noise. I quite like the new family with grown up son but not sure about the rocker family yet.

clangermum Fri 04-Oct-13 09:21:52

Nice editing when everyone was jiggling around to Strictly - cut to the rock family....nothing

clangermum Fri 04-Oct-13 09:25:21

Top half of Ed's face - 'could definitely do'

Bottom half - 'no fucking way'

DH actually sat there doing the blocking off with hands thing when she said that

PeanutPatty Fri 04-Oct-13 19:15:56

Love love love Gogglebox! I'm still wetting myself thinking of the posh couple at the end of the last series when their sofa flipped over with them sat on it!!!

Ellenora5 Fri 04-Oct-13 20:16:35

Glad I saw this thread, I love most of them but the posh couple are brill, they are permanently pissed grin the last one when they broke the chair was hilarious and now the short arms, I laugh everytime I think of it, I would love to go and stay in their bed and breakfast smile

I love Leon aswell, he is starving with his new diet and the poor man has to watch cooking programmes, I want to give him a dinner grin

Amandine29 Fri 04-Oct-13 20:33:25

I love Leon too but I do think he would be a nightmare to live with (feel sorry for his wife, thinks her name's June?)!

daftwit Fri 04-Oct-13 21:52:48

The "posh couple " were on four on a bed with their B&B a while ago, they were fab then too.....

Ellenora5 Sat 05-Oct-13 01:15:27

I would love to see that daftwit, would anyone know where I could watch it

Amandine, ye I think her name is June, but she is great at ignoring him and when she rolls her eyes it's like "ye whatever Leon" grin

waikikamookau Sat 05-Oct-13 08:51:18

what does the short arms mean?

Amandine29 Sat 05-Oct-13 09:36:43

Lady Mary had long black gloves (?) on and when stood against a dark background her arms looked like they stopped just above her elbows.

waikikamookau Sat 05-Oct-13 10:44:48

oh thanks for the explanation grin
very funny tv.

Ellenora5 Fri 11-Oct-13 00:19:39

Oh dear, Craig Cash narrating, no no no, but now I get it, Caroline Quentin narrating first and now him, I suppose it's because of the Royal Family and the whole telly thing, I'm quite put off now sad

Wingedharpy Fri 11-Oct-13 02:10:16

I love Craig Cash Ellenora.
He sounds like what my Mother would call "a right gormless article" but he is sharp, clever and very funny IMHO.

Why are the 2 permanently in bed?! What time do they go to bed in an evening?!

Vivacia Fri 11-Oct-13 07:37:30

Craig Cash's exaggerated narration was very, very grating.

I enjoyed this episode and even the drunk couple got a laugh out of me. (They were noticeably absent from the Daily Hate lampooning though).

WhisperMen Fri 11-Oct-13 18:10:45

I couldn't stop laughing at the short arms comment. I gave myself hiccups!

Sandy and sandra are hilarious. She uses a pot noodle pot as a cup. Love it!

it is my favourite thing on tv at the moment. Always cheers me up grin

expatinscotland Fri 11-Oct-13 18:13:50

Love Dominic and his wife. Line of the night, 'Oh, he'd go about the unemployed. C'mon, David, have a gin.'

usualsuspect Fri 11-Oct-13 18:19:38

Love gogglebox, loved the sex box comments.

'It must stink in that box'

timidviper Fri 11-Oct-13 18:27:05

I too love the posh couple although DH finds them irritating. I love to chap with his 2 grown up sons too, they seem to have a lovely relationship and I loved that one son said, of Sex Box, "I have to watch all of this without making eye contact with Dad" !

YoureBeingADick Fri 11-Oct-13 18:27:53

I dip in and out of this show. I also love the posh couple too. I used to like sandy and sandra but they irritate me with really dumb comments. Like rome being where Cleopatra and the bible are from hmm

usualsuspect Fri 11-Oct-13 18:28:37

Yes I love the Dad and sons and the sarky gay couple.

YoureBeingADick Fri 11-Oct-13 18:28:55

And i agreed with them ALL about that sexbox show! What on earth is the point of it? Its so awful.

YoureBeingADick Fri 11-Oct-13 18:32:18

Are josef and (is it ralph?) a gay couple aswell or friends?

Ellenora5 Fri 11-Oct-13 19:04:01

I think they are "flatmates" YBAD, though maybe more smile

Ah I do like Craig Cash but his voice really annoyed me last night

YoureBeingADick Fri 11-Oct-13 19:05:19

Do you know- i didnt notice a new narrator- who is craig cash?

Hassled Fri 11-Oct-13 19:09:53

Posh drunk couple crack me right up - you'd have a fun night out with them, I reckon.

AaDB Fri 11-Oct-13 19:22:44

Love this.

I think the posh couple were on Four in a Bed too.

I like the gay couple.

clangermum Fri 11-Oct-13 20:26:13

Craig Cash and Caroline Ahern play Dave and Denise in The Royle Family, where they do a lot of sitting around the telly commenting on what's on

Amandine29 Wed 16-Oct-13 23:34:42

Anyone watched tonight? As much as I love dogs, I did not need to see that close up! Also wondering how June has put up with Leon for so long!

Amandine29 Wed 16-Oct-13 23:35:53

Did anyone see it last week where he told her she was 'a bit bipolar'? confused

Love love love the posh couple, but I think your right AaDB they seem familiar, but I wish they'd take their shoes off and slip on some slippers.

Listmaker Thu 17-Oct-13 09:54:21

Hi all

My dd and I love this too. That posh couple are hilarious - we love them. Love how she is always dolled up to the nines and he looks completely pissed!

We love the ladies with the Pot Noodle cups and how they are always eating! And the Asian guys and their Dad are great.

The last series passed me by sadly and I missed the first episode of this series but may treat myself to it later on today (I am laid up with a broken foot so plenty of TV time!)

Vivacia Thu 17-Oct-13 10:10:11

I love watching the households that share a quick sense of humour - the father with two grown up boys, the drunk sots and the gay couple for example.

One of the family of four really shout a lot - they screech at each other and they screech to themselves.

I'm not keen on the family with the corner sofa and the grown-up son who has moved back in. I find the son annoying with all of his attention-seeking.

Vivacia Thu 17-Oct-13 10:10:33

The two female friends shout a lot too. A lot of shouting and not much listening.

Amandine29 Thu 17-Oct-13 10:21:04

I think both of the families of four shout a lot. But my family is probably guilty of this as well, it's just how some people get on I suppose.

Vivacia Thu 17-Oct-13 10:22:36

I couldn't stand it, but you're right they all seem very happy.

waikikamookau Sat 19-Oct-13 08:14:31

posh couple so funny this week, taking the piss out of Made in Chelsea grin

fussychica Sat 19-Oct-13 10:28:09

Still one of the funniest things on TV - forget "comedy" programmesgrin

Cherrypi Sat 19-Oct-13 16:39:01

Love this show. Warming to the older son family after the dad cried at the Stephen Fry documentary. Love Louie and the posh couple.

clangermum Sat 19-Oct-13 19:21:15

The father with two grown up boys - think they have changed house this series (father goes round to a son's house now or something like that) but in previous episodes there was a great moment (think it was at father's house) where someone said - will you let the cat in? And one of the sons pulled back a picture frame on the wall which was hinged at the side, and the cat jumped through the hole. Like it was the most normal thing.

clangermum Sat 19-Oct-13 19:22:00

Yes Cherry I thought the tears were quite moving too

I was surprised by his tears, but I really like that family anyway.

I haven't noticed much shouting but it may depend on how your family is, mine are probably quite shouty and so I don't notice it with the others. I'm more likely to think some of them are very quiet.

this is easily the funniest thing on tv at the moment - pot noodle lady and posh pissed lady are my favourites

pot noodle lady has been married 4 times!

LittleTulip Wed 23-Oct-13 22:18:30

First time watching it tonight - it's hilarious!

rollermydisco Wed 23-Oct-13 22:35:53

Tonight's is really funny, "Cilla in the Chiller" grin

LOLisNOTaPunctuationMark Wed 23-Oct-13 22:41:05

I love it! That drunk, posh couple are hilarious. I would love to sit my big arse right in the middle of them on that couch grin

rollermydisco Wed 23-Oct-13 22:48:04

A really touching ending as well, aw.

ThePuffyShirt Wed 23-Oct-13 22:54:20

It was superb tonight. Our favourite TV show.

LOLisNOTaPunctuationMark Wed 23-Oct-13 22:54:23

Indeed it was. I actually cried blush overtired But then i remembered the walrus being 'pleasured' grin

Amandine29 Wed 23-Oct-13 23:04:37

I'm starting to have a bit of a crush on the posh guy blush

Tonight's episode was a funny one although the walrus bit was pretty grim.

Did anyone spot the Allen sisters? They were in the first series but hadn't been in this series til now. I thought they'd got rid of them...they don't really add a lot.

Listmaker Wed 23-Oct-13 23:05:00

Genius TV. Leon was sweet bless but I did think yeah you'd be lost without June (?) because you'd have to get your own crackers!

Sandra (or Sandy) with the whip grin.

Posh woman and her scarves, full on makeup and boots - hilarious!

Amandine29 Wed 23-Oct-13 23:08:08

Listmaker I thought the same about Leon. He'd be lost without June because he would have to get out of his chair for once!

Theimpossiblegirl Wed 23-Oct-13 23:46:54

I'm watching this on C4+1 now. It was recommended by a friend. I love it! Not only do I get a round up of the week's TV but I get to look at people in their living rooms.

I loved watching the teenage boy squirm during the wanking walrus bit.

Cremolafoam Wed 23-Oct-13 23:58:33

Pmsl at this programme.
When the whole family did Alan Carrs hand.
The sozzled Sloane couple every night with the champagne / scotch

All of them crying at Hayley Cropper!!!grin

mrsjay Thu 24-Oct-13 10:35:05

oh god I love this it makes my wednesday night it is so funny , the couple who own the B n B are always hammered how do they manage to get up to make the fried eggs in the morning grin and why does sandra or sandy drink out of a pot noddle pot or is she drinking pot noddle confused

Kaluki Thu 24-Oct-13 12:04:05

How hilarious was last night?
When Sandra (or Sandy) flicked herself in the eye with the whip I actually cried laughing.
June and Leon remind me if my late nan and grandad - he used to ask her for food all the time and she'd say no!!!
The walrus bit was rank but the two gay blokes had me in stitches!

mrsjay Thu 24-Oct-13 12:08:12

I wish the gay bloke with the beard would stop picking his toes gives me the boak ,

LittleTulip Thu 24-Oct-13 12:12:04

Ok after watching last nights episode for the first time I've just watched the first episode on 4OD - and I still can not stop laughing at the Downton short arms comment!! Haha grin

PinkBerryGuy Thu 24-Oct-13 12:30:35

"Madonna is the queen of pop, Kylie is the princess and Britney.... well shes the crackwhore isn't she?"

LMAO for a good 5 minutes at that..... ; )

mrsjay Thu 24-Oct-13 12:37:02

ordinary people are hilarious eh

Cremolafoam Thu 24-Oct-13 16:35:28

gringringrin @ crackwhore

Ellenora5 Thu 24-Oct-13 20:55:35

Loved it last night, very funny, it was real laugh out loud stuff, the couple with the young lad talking about foreplay, and the wife "oh ye we never do foreplay" grin the young lads face was hilarious

I like Leon and think he is mad about June, I had a little tear in my eye when he was talking

SinisterBuggyMonth Fri 25-Oct-13 09:31:01

Love this, loved the posh couple, especially his dancing. I bet they end up on celeb Big Brother soon.

Britney is the crack whore of pop is inspired.

mrsjay Fri 25-Oct-13 09:32:37

I like Leon and think he is mad about June, I had a little tear in my eye when he was talking

yes he adores her I loved it last week when he made June watch Made in chelsea and her face was amazing he obviously is a real MIC fan

cjbk1 Fri 25-Oct-13 09:51:28

some of you will hate me for saying this but I just want to retweet or favourite a lot of these comments! I loved the cat/picture frame thing too last series wink

Amandine29 Fri 25-Oct-13 16:13:22

I loved the cat/picture frame thing too. I want one for my house! Love that family too.

SoleSorceress Wed 30-Oct-13 22:15:10

Posh couple make me lol

BloodiedGhouloshes Wed 30-Oct-13 23:56:24

Based on this thread I watched it for the first time, and it was fabulous.

Love the posh couple. 'No I don't envy Nigella, not for her face or her marriage or her.... um....hair'.

Ellenora5 Thu 31-Oct-13 00:19:22

Just watched tonights, brilliant as usual, when they were watching educating Yorkshire the emotions from them all was exactly the way I would be watching it, never knew Leon and June were teachers, love them even more now smile

The only ones I am not warming to are the rock family, don't know why because the husband makes a lot of sense.

Screechy family make me laugh they make so much noise telling each other to shut up they can't hear the telly, I'm surprised they hear anything at all grin

KathrynKampbell Thu 31-Oct-13 00:59:34

I love this programme. I'm a lone parent so literally never have anyone to sit and watch TV with and laugh and joke about all the funny bits so watching Gogglebox gives me a taste of what that's like. It cheers me up every week! The posh couple are my fave but I was wetting myself at the Jesus sticker ladies with the mouse tonight haha!

Ellenora5 Thu 31-Oct-13 01:10:06

KathrynKampbell, I'm the same as you, single mum, so I just talk to the telly and shout at it sometimes grin

KathrynKampbell Thu 31-Oct-13 01:26:49

I shout at mine sometimes too grin I try to get toddler dd to join in too but she just looks at me like I'm stupid when I'm OH MY GOD-ing at the soaps haha!

Ellenora5 Thu 31-Oct-13 01:44:07

Are you on the soap threads Kathryn, it's great fun, I love them, it's kind of like watching tv with someone smile

bettterandnow Thu 31-Oct-13 10:16:47

Starting to wonder if they play up to the camera now as I can't believe people talk over the tv so much and join in so much! Having said that I love to see what they think of the programmes I have watched and last night's was really good at times - again.

KathrynKampbell Thu 31-Oct-13 11:24:36

Ill have to have a nosy elle because I do miss dissecting soaps haha! grin

RoxanneReidsChafingFishnets Mon 04-Nov-13 10:01:51

I'm watching this now. Laughing at the gay couple twerking to Barbara grin

Loving Leon. Hes so nice but funny and obviously loves his wife.

PublicEnemyNumeroUno Tue 05-Nov-13 11:56:33

This is me and DHs favourite thing on tv. The drunk couple are hilarious, especially the man

Was in stitches when that guy said celine dion wasnt alive to defend herself grin

I always laugh at the "rocker" family aswell, mainly because the daughters boyfriend never speaks and never takes his eyes off the telly lol

chelseablue Tue 05-Nov-13 13:52:22

Love this show, has to be one of the best things on at the minute.

Did the drunk guy hug his wife in one episode and say 'Ding Dong' or did I just dream that?!

I could watch this show every day.
its so funny , my favourites are the gays with ginger minge the cat and the two coloured ladies who always eat takeawaygrin
oh and the posh couple who are a match made in heaven

Amandine29 Wed 06-Nov-13 22:36:22

'First time you shit yourself, you're out' - love the posh couple. Although I was crying at that poor old man sad

Amandine29 Wed 06-Nov-13 22:45:40

First time I've seen Leon out his chair shock grin

LittleTulip Wed 06-Nov-13 22:46:21

Retarded Nicole grin

Sparklingbrook Wed 06-Nov-13 22:47:49

How do the older couple know who the people on X Factor even are? Wouldn't SCD be more up their street with Bruce?

YoureBeingASillyBilly Wed 06-Nov-13 22:48:56

did leon just say Nicole shirzinger was retarded?!

TheBuskersDog Wed 06-Nov-13 22:49:39

My mum's 78 and she watches X Factor and knows who they are, although she does prefer SCD.

Sparklingbrook Wed 06-Nov-13 22:50:12

Sparklingbrook Wed 06-Nov-13 22:51:25

My parents are in their 70s and wouldn't watch X Factor ever Buskers. sad

KerwhizzedMyself Wed 06-Nov-13 22:54:32

They'll ask them to watch certain programmes. I was tickled by the posh couple tonight! grin

moondog Wed 06-Nov-13 23:08:46

So great.
Is he ever sober? grin
I love those two Asian brothers from Derby.
Love 'em all.

We watched it for the first time tonight. Who's the narrator? Couldn't make my mind up whether I liked it or not TBH. DH though it was crap, but we never seem to like the same things.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Wed 06-Nov-13 23:30:41

'Tis Craig Cash (Dave from The Royle Family), WhoKnows.

Listmaker Thu 07-Nov-13 07:03:05

Leon got up....it's a miracle!

The last couple of weeks haven't been as laugh out loud funny as previous weeks but still love it.

Do they ever watch BBC shows? Always seems to be ITV or C4? And lately more obscure stuff that I don't watch. Wish they'd do Strictly!

smallandimperfectlyformed Thu 07-Nov-13 07:40:17

wonderingwendy I know you don't mean it in a rude way but the term coloured is quite offensive, black is the preferred term.
I love the Asian family, especially when one of the sons said that he couldn't be a paramedic as he couldn't take directions!

Sparklingbrook Thu 07-Nov-13 07:42:07

That was brilliant small, I thought he was going to say he was squeamish or something. grin

Comfysoft Thu 07-Nov-13 07:50:45

I just love the posh couple and the family with son and daughter, Mum has curly hair ( Can't think of their names). The older couple are ace too.
The couple that watch tb in bef make me smile very brave going on tv in bed.grin
The posh woman has an amazing boot collection. She wears a different pair for every tv program they watch about 4 pairs per episode and I have never seen the same pair twice.

Tiredemma Thu 07-Nov-13 15:04:25

I love this programme.

My favourites are the posh piss heads (absolutely hilarious on the last one where he said she spent the first four years of their relationship "smashed")

Thanks Shotgun - of course, just couldn't quite place the voice.

FrillyMilly Thu 07-Nov-13 21:20:51

They may not be allowed to show clips from bbc shows and that's why they don't watch them. If I recall correctly bbc wouldn't allow Harry hills tv burp to show any bbc shows for ages until the show became really popular.

My nan knows who everyone is and watches X factor. She does prefer strictly though.

Ruprekt Thu 07-Nov-13 22:48:12

I love this......discovered it through Mumsnet......who knew watching people watching tv would be so entertaining! gringringrin

smallandimperfectlyformed Fri 08-Nov-13 10:25:41

They have shown some BBC programmes though - the Stephen Fry documentary on homophobia and the Richard Hammond space programme.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Fri 08-Nov-13 15:09:44

Posh woman to husband: 'Tit' grin.

Dillydollydaydream Fri 08-Nov-13 17:10:06

I really love the posh B&B owners having their tipples!
I want to find the episode of 4 in a bed they're on to watch that now!

YoureBeingASillyBilly Fri 08-Nov-13 17:15:04

ooh were they on four in a bed? that would be hilarious i'll bet! grin I love them too.

I particularly loved the episode where nigella was on and the wife started saying "what is there to be jealous of?" and then the husband started listing things! grin

YoureBeingASillyBilly Fri 08-Nov-13 17:15:37

she said something like "that's just thin hair made to look fluffy" grin

SlicedLemon Fri 08-Nov-13 20:31:43

Ooooh really. Dillydollydaydream How did you find out the posh couple are in an episode of 4 in a bed???

I need more info to find it. grin

Tiredemma Fri 08-Nov-13 20:37:08
Tiredemma Fri 08-Nov-13 20:39:02
Dillydollydaydream Fri 08-Nov-13 21:19:25

Ooh Tiredemma thanks for that. I'll be watching that when I do the night feed smile

Tiredemma Fri 08-Nov-13 21:26:02

Ellenora5 Fri 08-Nov-13 22:55:22

Tiredemma, thanks a mill for posting the link, I was trying to find how to watch it for ages smile will look forward to seeing it thanks

wintera Thu 14-Nov-13 08:11:14

I found the match of the day bit weird last night. Didn't quite gel with the rest of it.

Ruprekt Thu 14-Nov-13 22:01:16

Just watched this again and howled at the John Lewis advert section....with tears and laughter!!gringringrin

cantheyseeme Thu 14-Nov-13 22:03:37

June and leon are my faves, the crazy lady who drinks out of a pot noodle pot.... waaat is that about?

abi2790 Thu 14-Nov-13 22:10:35

I love this programme! I can no longer watch downtown without laughing due to the posh couple's armless lady Mary impression

Vivacia Sat 16-Nov-13 14:51:31

I don't like the family with the son with the ankle in plaster. There's something a bit contrived about them, and the son always seems a bit needy and to be looking for approval. E.g. trying to catch dad's eye when he's laughing at mum.

The others, even the posh couple, I really like.

wintera Sun 17-Nov-13 07:09:46

Vivacia. - I agree with you about that family. The son has a voice nearly as bad as Joe pasquale as well!

Alexandrite Wed 20-Nov-13 23:51:08

Just discovered this loved it! My parents have got the same sofa as the MI5 interview couple. grin

Alexandrite Wed 20-Nov-13 23:51:39

and loved it.

YoureBeingASillyBilly Thu 21-Nov-13 00:13:26

Aww i just love leon and june. Junes reactions to leon are so funny, shes always shaking her head and hiding her face behind her hand in embarrassment grin

Amandine29 Thu 21-Nov-13 07:24:12

I love watching Leon and June as well.

wintera Thu 21-Nov-13 08:10:43

I must admit, my favourite is the very bitchy fella and his partner. The things they come out with make me laugh the most.

YoureBeingASillyBilly Thu 21-Nov-13 09:10:57

Wintera is that the guy with the handle bar mustache thingy? He is funny. One week they were discussing IQ and his partner was a bit stumped for a few minutes about the whole topic grin

Did anyone else find it a bit distasteful that they used the programme about the spy found dead in the bag? Yes, bizarre and I'm sure many of us were having similar conversations at home, but a bit insensitive for the family really.

Listmaker Thu 21-Nov-13 10:23:08

Good episode last night. Why was Sandy (or Sandra) wearing wellies?! Hilarious.

Loved June and Leon and the Asian chaps and their dad. They are so funny - especially all the BGT and X Factor rejects comment.

The family with the lad who just turned 17 make me feel better because they seem nice and normal and their son talks to them in such an aggressive manner which is just like my daughter! I'm not alone grin.

I also find the grown up son with the broken leg a bit creepy.

OpalTourmaline Wed 27-Nov-13 23:33:43

I was wondering after today's episode if June from the June and Leon couple is going to see herself on TV constantly rolling her eyes at Leon and end up leaving him because she realises just how much he annoys her! Probably not though. It's probably just the sort of relationship they have and she loves him really!

Ellenora5 Thu 28-Nov-13 02:16:33

I want to know what is being Knitted, it's brown and she never puts it down, is it a scarf, is it a hat, what is it!! and why has she turned into "I haven't a clue what's going on" type of person.

I can't stand the lad that sits in between his mum and dad, or the family that are so loud, why do they have to keep shouting at each other.

I still love June and Leon grin they are my favourites

Drinky couple haven't been shown so much the last couple of episodes, they are usually so funny, could be editing of course hmm

Why has no one mentioned the two clever types who sit in front of the painting of the boobs!? The way his head is always placed in between them cracks me up.

Still18atheart Thu 28-Nov-13 15:55:51

Paula - I thimk that couple is the most intriging why do they sit so close together there's stacks of room but they are so squashed together and that picture words fail me and and cracks me u pp everytime theyre on

DH wants one for our front room!

Vivacia Thu 28-Nov-13 21:05:10

That's a very good point about the boob pair. Until you pointed it out to me, I'd never realised how strange it is that they both sit squashed together in front of that painting despite the tonnes of room.

Davros Thu 28-Nov-13 23:36:03

I assume that some if them sit squished together for the camera angle, e.g. The hairdressers and Sandy and Sandra

The pissed posh man (Dominic?) reminds me of that character in the Fast Show - "I was, completely and utterly, drunk".

They all made me laugh this week making rude words for Countdown.

I think June still has a twinkle in her eyes when she is rolling them at Leon's comments.

LionessOfThePride Fri 29-Nov-13 10:43:45

Just discovered this program and am absolutely HOOKED!! How did I miss this for long? They're all fabulous to watch (except for the boardgame 'friends' and the elderly couple. Booooooring).

And best of all - it's on after the kids are in bed! WINNER!

MissusL Fri 29-Nov-13 13:14:40

I would love to see all the people on Gogglebox having one big party and meeting each other, just to see how they all get along! Think Louis should just have a show of his own, his expressions when his parents are talking are fantastic.

Tiredemma Fri 29-Nov-13 14:59:46

june and leon were on bbc breakfast the other morning- leon is so funny, june was even rolling her eyes at him on there.

boschy Fri 29-Nov-13 23:49:56

we only just caught up with this the other night - dont know how we missed it! love it. the posh drinky pair were previously on 4 in a Bed.
think they are all wonderful, except for the ones with the boob painting, who seem to be acting

123rd Fri 29-Nov-13 23:55:08

Love love love it!! But no one I knows watches ithmm

SinisterBuggyMonth Sun 01-Dec-13 00:36:31

There's a thread on AIBU in which the silent boyfriend has been renamed Dandelion due to his hair.

OpalTourmaline Sun 01-Dec-13 08:24:13

I like the teenage girl with the long blonde fringe. The one who said she didn't go on a killing spree after being rejected by John Moores Uni when they were watching the programme about Hitler being rejected by art school being one of the things that led to him becoming the fuhrer. She makes me laugh. The teenage boy in the other family is a bit shouty

Oblomov Sun 01-Dec-13 08:54:07

Cheers me up. I just love it.

Ellenora5 Mon 02-Dec-13 19:46:55

One half of the two older gentlemen popped up on heir hunters this morning, something to do with knowing someone who died and he was a playwright, I was only half listening so not sure what it was and I think it's a couple of years old anyway

Now hows that for a useless bit of information wink

runes Wed 04-Dec-13 22:34:08

Love June and Leon smile

SinisterBuggyMonth Wed 04-Dec-13 22:36:31

I want Leon and June to be my grandparents!

Kithulu Wed 04-Dec-13 22:37:22

I am watching this for the first time tonight. Its making me feel lonely. I want someone to watch TV with. DH is always on his computer at the other end of the room, and makes me feel stupid hassling him to watch TV with me. But now I see other people doing it I really realise why I want some company so much. sigh.

runes Wed 04-Dec-13 22:48:27

Pissed up posh couple are funny though grin

OpalTourmaline Wed 04-Dec-13 23:15:51

I like June and Leon more now after seeing them commenting on David Cameron and immigration, but the posh couple's comments on the same subject have put me off them.

Rollergirl1 Thu 05-Dec-13 19:27:19

How much booze do you reckon posh couple put away? They have always got a glass of something on the go. Was amused by Stephanie's request for a vodka red-bull if they were going to have sex or a baileys if not.

OpalTourmaline Wed 11-Dec-13 22:41:22

"Jesus wasn't a chicken!" grin

moondog Wed 11-Dec-13 23:37:59

Why are the two black women always drinking out of Pot Noodle containers? Is it Pot Noodle juice or something else?

Is the lad in the household with German Goth dad a brother or a boyfriend (if latter, why always there?) I would love to know how German met his wife.

What happened to the couple who used to watch in bed?

Brenda and her friend are growing on me. The discussion about Michael Jackson's 'paediatric' tendencies was superb tonight.

Lighthousekeeping Thu 12-Dec-13 02:14:23

I love it but does anyone think it's getting more staged?

OpalTourmaline Thu 12-Dec-13 11:19:00

I think the posh couple are totally putting on an act for the cameras which involves dressing up, full make up, glass in hand and saying things they think will be funny. It's like watching a performance. The others not quite to that extent.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Thu 12-Dec-13 11:33:41

Stephanie's posh accent slips sometimes, I think it's put on.

OpalTourmaline Thu 12-Dec-13 11:43:31

Yes I think she hams up her poshness

fairisleknitter Thu 12-Dec-13 11:52:56

She's not as posh as he is.

My DH insists one of the two older gents is known for something else. I'll tell him it was Heir Hunters!

moondog Thu 12-Dec-13 16:45:53

Yes Opal.
Who sits like that watching tv? [hmmm]
That's the trouble with stuff like this. Once the magic is captured and noted, it begins to slip.
The gay guys and black women are starting to ham it up too.
Not so the German/Scousers I feel.

OpalTourmaline Thu 12-Dec-13 16:48:28

Agree re the gay guys.

moondog Thu 12-Dec-13 16:50:08

They don't live together do they?
They are always in lounge waer type clothing but beardy said to the other, when offered a drink 'I can't I'm driving'.
That seems weird. Woudn't he know he w2as driving?

Lighthousekeeping Thu 12-Dec-13 17:00:38

Also how do they do it exactly? No one could've predicted what night Nelson Mandela died. I don't honestly think they would all be watching the news every night at that time. Especially the children.

OpalTourmaline Fri 13-Dec-13 10:57:03

Maybe they just have the cameras rolling any time they watch TV and then caught people seeing the announcement on TV

wintera Fri 13-Dec-13 16:24:34

I did really like the gay guys but one of them said a couple of things last week that went too far I thought. It was when Nicole S was on and he said 'looks like someone has come all over her' cos she had too much baby oil on. Then to hammer it home he said 'she looks all jizzed up'. Just thought that was too crass for my liking.

moondog Fri 13-Dec-13 19:34:13

I read an article about it recently in the Saturday Telegraph. They have camera crew in the homes who then go through all the footage. They claim to filter out obvious showing off, but I am less and less convinced about that.

smallandimperfectlyformed Thu 19-Dec-13 08:38:01

I loved last night's Christmas episode and I'm going against the grain here but I really like the geeky guys. I also love the Jewish family, especially last night when the little one directioner revealed she'd eaten bacon! (In a moment of teen rebellion, not because I wanted to see her go against her religion. I hope you know what I mean there!!)

Shortbutsosweet Fri 20-Dec-13 16:05:43

Posh guy looks like Kate Middletons dad

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Fri 20-Dec-13 16:27:10

One of the gay guys referred to "being able to see her beef curtains" while watching Rebecca Adlington on I'm a Celeb the other week, thought that was pretty crass too.

girliefriend Fri 20-Dec-13 16:46:38

watched it last night and laughed a lot. The posh couple are clearly shit faced - esp the bloke grin that in itself is enough to make me laugh.

Also laughed everytime the black ladies said that Susan Boyle was Irish grin grin

WildThong Fri 20-Dec-13 16:50:38

I love the old couple too. "Show us your nicks, go on" !

Vivacia Sat 21-Dec-13 15:10:51

I'm watching the Susan Boyle one. Adult-son-living-at-home is a little shit laughing at her get nervous and not handling it in the way he thinks she should.

wintera Sat 21-Dec-13 15:50:56

Yes the beef curtains line made me wince as well. He seems to be just out to shock in the more recent eps. They all seem to be playing up to the cameras a bit too much now which kind of makes sense as it has become a big hit now. They obviously know that so they are no longer as natural as they once were which is a shame.

wintera Sat 21-Dec-13 15:52:16

My sister saw June on a train to Liverpool the other week and was quite made up to see her in the flesh!

Vivacia Sat 21-Dec-13 18:13:14

June is a good spot wintera's sister!

I don't like the boyfriend who sits on the left. The guy on the right seems so nice and the one on the left is getting nastier with his comments.

The mum from the Tapper family was in my year at school. <pointless piece of information>

Lighthousekeeping Mon 23-Dec-13 20:11:08

Are the actually in a relationship or just mates? They don't seem together to me. Sometimes I feel the dark haired one is just there because he feels he has to be.

Amandine29 Thu 27-Feb-14 10:09:05

New series starts Friday 7th March!

Dillydollydaydream Thu 27-Feb-14 10:49:47

Ooh would it be very sad to make a note?! smile

Amandine29 Thu 27-Feb-14 12:48:43

No! I've already done it!

Ellenora5 Thu 27-Feb-14 14:44:56

Brill I can't wait, love gogglebox grin

HighBrows Thu 27-Feb-14 22:15:19

I put a reminder in my phone last night blush

I think this is one of the best shows made ever....

Felix90 Thu 27-Feb-14 22:17:40

I can't freakin' wait!

caramelwaffle Thu 27-Feb-14 22:27:52

"Amandine29 Thu 27-Feb-14 10:09:05
New series starts Friday 7th March!"

Oblomov Sat 01-Mar-14 17:57:20

I too can't wait.
Have REALLY missed it.
Dh has already set the sky+ planner on series link. Good man.

Amandine29 Fri 07-Mar-14 13:48:33

Excited for tonight! So glad all the old ones are coming back, I don't know if it would be so good if they got new people.

Amandine29 Fri 07-Mar-14 21:06:30

It's on!

squoosh Fri 07-Mar-14 21:08:33

I can't believe Dom is only 49!

Jellykat Fri 07-Mar-14 21:13:13

New couple from Warwickshire? Haven't seen them before..

I'm a Gogglebox virgin but have tuned in for the first time tonight "she dances like she's gor fucking rickets" had me in fits of giggles. Not sure why it tickled me. I'm staying tuned!

Amandine29 Fri 07-Mar-14 21:22:21

Why did the mum who usually doesn't understand anything just give a decent explanation of Crimea situation? My world has been turned upside down! shock

squoosh Fri 07-Mar-14 21:23:59

She must have decided to give herself a new 'knowledgeable' image. She's been hitting wikipedia!

StepfauxWife Fri 07-Mar-14 21:25:33

Not sure about that new couple... But I bloody love Gogglebox!

Nerfmother Fri 07-Mar-14 21:25:52

That horrible boob picture behind the two blokes. Yuk.
And new post couple are not doing it for me.

StepfauxWife Fri 07-Mar-14 21:26:04

The Steve McQueen comment made me weep grin

whohasnickedmyvodka Fri 07-Mar-14 21:26:05

Why aren't the pissed posh couple passed yet they are my favourites

FiaGrace Fri 07-Mar-14 21:26:10

I love Googlebox BUT how come so many of them have their outdoor shoes on inside??!!

and the posho couple have cream carpets, I mean really!

FiaGrace Fri 07-Mar-14 21:26:47

Amandine29 Fri 07-Mar-14 21:30:07

Loving the sandwich arguments! 'I used to do buffys!'

squoosh Fri 07-Mar-14 21:31:15

Let's not start the shoes on/shoes off debate! It always gets brutal.

I was cackling at the Steve McQueen thing too, those three are my fave. I think the son is really funny.

Nerfmother Fri 07-Mar-14 21:34:41

New posh couple are like actors or something.

colleysmill Fri 07-Mar-14 21:41:27

I love this show!! Although it's no good for my insides all this laughing - it's making my c section scar hurt

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 07-Mar-14 21:52:25

Don't like new high brow couple

NoelOfLorst Fri 07-Mar-14 21:58:47

Howling at the Grease bit

Nerfmother Fri 07-Mar-14 21:59:12

They've all piled weight on. Time to get off the sofa grin

threepiecesuite Fri 07-Mar-14 22:00:00

Loved it tonight!

squoosh Fri 07-Mar-14 22:00:59

Yes, they have got fat.

Jellykat Fri 07-Mar-14 22:01:04

PMSL at the Grease bit grin

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 07-Mar-14 22:02:05

Grease bit brilliant !

SinisterBuggyMonth Fri 07-Mar-14 23:17:19

They seem to be over doing the thick comments a bit sad

Knitting lady coming out as a UKIP supporter was disappointing too.

I quite fancy Dom

Amandine29 Fri 07-Mar-14 23:46:06

Knitting lady has the same piece of knitting that she had last series! It doesn't look much bigger either.

Dom looks too much like my dad for me to consider him like that.

ghostinthecanvas Fri 07-Mar-14 23:53:51

I didn't like the new couple either. He seemed controlling, didn't like him dissing her son. .The Grease bit was hilarious . As for the lady not putting on weight because of all the sex she'd been having! Funny.

Catsmamma Sat 08-Mar-14 00:07:11

I roared laughing at the whole Steve McQueen thing.

Also quite liked the new couple. I do think the two hair dresser guys are overly crass sometimes.

Leon and June are just so very sweet!

caramelwaffle Sat 08-Mar-14 01:21:30

Yes, yes to the "Steve McQueen..."

Ellenora5 Sat 08-Mar-14 03:34:01

Amandine I have serious issues with the knitting, it's still yukky brown and hasn't really moved on at all, now compare that with the sons hair shock it has grown a small pony tail right out the back of his head grin

Still loving June and Leon, where were they on hols, lovely tan, as Leon showed off with his exposed legs smile

Sandy and Sandra are brill, Sandras nails were something else, they needed a show all of their own, and no pot noodle cup in sight

Ellenora5 Sat 08-Mar-14 03:37:10

Oops forgot about the Grease bit, bloody brill and I remember it having that beginning grin it was great then and it still is

Oblomov Sat 08-Mar-14 07:17:31

"I have just read red wine us bad for you. I must stop reading."

Ha ha. I love her.

Like all the other posters here, I don't like new couple.

Agreed. What is that awful tufty pony-tail thing on the back of his head?

Oblomov Sat 08-Mar-14 07:25:53

Who are new couple replacing?
Why do we need new ones. I just like the old line up. No one has left, have they?

KenDoddsDadsDog Sat 08-Mar-14 07:47:40

Not keen on UKIP lady at all.
I loved the match of the day bit where they were on about Mourinho. Get to bed now . Funny.

bigTillyMint Sat 08-Mar-14 07:52:08

That boyfriend still hasn't said a word, although he did do a "Jeez!hmm" look at the endsmile

Amandine29 Sat 08-Mar-14 09:12:53

I seem to have totally missed the ponytail!

I agree the colour of that knitting is not good...it looks like she only brings it out for the show.

SinisterBuggyMonth Sat 08-Mar-14 09:22:52

I think she is knitting a poo coloured onesie for Nigel Farrage

Logg1e Sat 08-Mar-14 09:37:23

I don't mind the new families, they just need to settle in. I think I'm going off the male couple, especially the one on the left - I just think his comments are unkind. My favourites are now the father and two sons. I think they have a lovely dynamic going on.

I'm struck by how many of the families have people from different generations swearing in front of the other.

bigTillyMint Sat 08-Mar-14 09:55:55

The ponytail just looked like another clump of hair TBH!

I love that the families watch together. It would be catsbum faces for at least 2 out of four in our house if we had to watch all those programmes together!

fussychica Sat 08-Mar-14 15:51:24

Sooooooooo disappointed - used to love this programme. Too rehearsed, too much false swearing from the gay pair and everyone in general, agree with Logge1e. Time for me to bow out me thinks.

silvermantella Sat 08-Mar-14 17:17:00

wasn't impressed by new highbrow (to differentiate them from posh couple!) couple at the start but the reptile thing got me giggling. The woman (Anne?) looks terrified all the time!

I read an article on how they do it too - apparently they have to watch so many hours per week, and they have a specific list of things to chose from. I suppose for Nelson Mandela/other 'newsworthy' things they can be contacted at short notice and asked to watch that if at all possible. What shocked me was that it said the film crew are usually hiding in the kitchen or nearby while filming - I assumed that there would just be a camera strategically placed, and then the footage collected the next day or something. Can't see how you can switch off and be authentic if there are 3 strangers, cameras, mikes etc, a few feet away from you!

silvermantella Sat 08-Mar-14 17:19:18

also, are the older two men together or just friends? The one on the left (I think Chess grandmaster?) always sits sooo close to the other one, right up in his personal space, but then they don't hold hands, or cuddle, or flirt or anything. And the giant boobs behind them are very distracting!

Amandine29 Sat 08-Mar-14 18:56:18

I think they are a couple but they're always described as friends so I could be wrong.

I read the article about how they film it and thought the same. I also notice that they wear mics which must be a reminder that they're being filmed.

Logg1e Sat 08-Mar-14 19:01:48

I think they're friends rather than a romantic couple.

Lighthousekeeping Sun 09-Mar-14 23:22:50

The hairdressers with the glasses needs to wash his mouth out.

Lottapianos Mon 10-Mar-14 14:54:58

Absolutely LOVED Dom doing the Blurred Lines bit at the beginning! One of the funniest Gogglebox moments ever. And the confusion about the cartoon titles at the start of Grease! I am starting to understand all the interest in Dom - he's a bit of a silver fox and very funny and always up for a tipple or 5

squoosh Mon 10-Mar-14 14:56:53

But only 49!!

I thought he was early 60's.

Lottapianos Mon 10-Mar-14 15:29:41

Yes squoosh, I would have said late 50s at least

angelos02 Mon 10-Mar-14 16:01:31

Who is 49? Dom? No way. I would've said late 50's/early 60's. Alcohol must be aging. Who knew?!

Amandine29 Fri 14-Mar-14 21:51:42

Anyone watching tonight? Shouty mum's son just asked her why she was shouting grin

Lighthousekeeping Fri 14-Mar-14 22:29:15

I do worry about their weights.

mrsjay Sat 15-Mar-14 13:41:05

I love shouty mum she is hilarious her dd needs to wash her mouth out though aww bless leon watching titanic i had a little tear with him holding junes hand <wail> I know posh drunk couple are funny but i do worry about Doms drinking he is always pissed even steph had cola after lunch he was sozzled shock

ppeatfruit Sat 15-Mar-14 14:02:52

I LOVE this and only came across it last night (there's alot of other acceptable stuff on at the same time grin).

mrsjay The poshpissheads are called Leon and June? I'm confused. I was really lol right through (esp. the son of the German dad's face) soo embarrassed typical teenager. grin

Zingy123 Sat 15-Mar-14 14:27:29

Poshpissheads are Dom and Steph

Older couple are Leon and June

Can't bear shoutymum

Amandine29 Sat 15-Mar-14 15:00:45

Agree that shouty mum's daughter is very rude. I think it's just immaturity and trying to be funny.

Leon and June are very sweet and the posh pissheads are always hilarious.

What does everyone think of the 3 (?) new families?

I don't like the older couple or the family, they don't seem to add anything new. I'm undecided on the vicar. She looks like she could be funny but she's quite similar to the knitting mum with her stupid questions.

Ellenora5 Sat 15-Mar-14 15:21:21

You know the family with the grown up son who sits in the middle, well I can't stand him, he is always putting his mother down.

The brown knitting that Mrs Michael has, has got considerably longer this week, she must have been knitting like a demon all week and thankfully her son put his cap back on and we don't have to see his ponytail

The new family with the daughter who applied for lunch supervisor job is ok, but they haven't been on a lot

The reverend and husband might be ok, but he has nothing to say for himself, he can bang out a tune on the piano though, and I loved their teacosys haven't seen anyone use them in years

What happened to the couple who were always in bed and eating

June and Leon are still my favourites, love them, and what he said at the end was lovely

mrsjay Sat 15-Mar-14 16:54:07

no the piss heads are dom and steph the older couple are leon and june

mrsjay Sat 15-Mar-14 16:55:13

I liked REv Kate i think she is going to be good , the german man was getting on my wick though and the son has he ever spoken

IHaveSeenMyHat Sat 15-Mar-14 16:58:31

He isn't their son, he's the daughter's boyfriend.

I'm not sure why he's there, since he doesn't speak. Unless it's a running joke?

mrsjay Sat 15-Mar-14 17:02:20

that is not their daughter I will google

Logg1e Sat 15-Mar-14 17:04:57

The young woman on the left is the woman on the right's daughter. The german man is her step father. The young man on the left is the daughter's boyfriend. They tell us this every episode.

mrsjay Sat 15-Mar-14 17:06:16

oh right we he is a bundle of laughs anyway

Logg1e Sat 15-Mar-14 18:29:41

I think that he's great, so, so expressionless. At first I thought he must be nervous in front of the "in-laws" but actually he seems very comfortable around them. I love how none of the others ask him anything. Perhaps he's quite shy and they just accept it? (Mind you, he'd be lucky to get a word in edgeways).

Amandine29 Sat 15-Mar-14 18:32:07

I've always thought the same. They seem to just accept him being there but not saying anything. But then maybe he just doesn't get chance!

Pobblewhohasnotoes Sat 15-Mar-14 21:11:35

The one that doesn't speak (is he really her boyfriend?), is he growing his hair so it covers his entire face?

mrsjay Sat 15-Mar-14 21:12:48

he is turning into a LION before our eyes grin

ppeatfruit Sun 16-Mar-14 09:39:31

Thanks mrsjay and Loggie sorry to be dense but I literally just rediscovered it so know no one on it. I'll google it later if i can be bothered.

The boyf who's so embarrassed (maybe it's because he's aware of the camera and the others don't care or have forgotten).

I was watching TV yesterday and became horrribly aware of what i was saying to DH !! Anyone else get this reaction? grin

SinisterBuggyMonth Sun 16-Mar-14 10:36:05

Silent boyfriend was nicknamed Dandelion in another thread

fussychica Sun 16-Mar-14 10:46:58

I'm sure boyfriend has been told not to talk to make it a running gag. He probably didn't say anything the first time and the crew thought it would be funny to keep it like that.

Anyone watching this week?

sydenhamhiller Fri 21-Mar-14 21:14:55

I think the Siddiqi family in Derby are lovely. And wept at Leon with June watching the Titanic.<wells up at the memory>

Amandine29 Fri 21-Mar-14 21:23:02

I'm watching!

There was a piece about Rev Kate in the local paper this week where she said she thought the cameras were turned off when she started singing last week grin Oh dear!

guineapig2014 Fri 21-Mar-14 21:26:07

Not watching today, watching sport relief! Will be watching it on catchup tomorrow! It great. Happy Friday everyone! winesmile

Jellykat Fri 21-Mar-14 21:41:54

Dom and Steph (is that her name?) are just sooo funny!

immortalwife Fri 21-Mar-14 21:49:10

Gogglebox is so funny!!

Lighthousekeeping Fri 21-Mar-14 21:50:58

Love the vicar

Jellykat Fri 21-Mar-14 21:54:35

I didn't know Tony Benn had said that, what a brilliant quote!

Lighthousekeeping Fri 21-Mar-14 21:55:57

Yes he did. He was a one off.

Jellykat Fri 21-Mar-14 21:57:22

Abso bloody lutely Lighthouse

Trojanhouse Fri 21-Mar-14 22:02:58

Love Sandy and Sandra
They are hilarious

colleysmill Fri 21-Mar-14 22:06:30

We laughed a lot this week

Shenanagins Fri 21-Mar-14 22:10:00

COs it ain't raining! The quote of the week.

Its0kToBeMe Fri 21-Mar-14 22:29:23

The posh couple are the stars of the show definitely.
The Siddiqui (sp?) are my favourite, one of the sons is a micro biologist or something? One of them had a tear in their eye watching OBEM. Which made me love them more!

Sandy and her friend make quite racist comments sometimes. Though I bet they'd be great fun to have as mates.

I adore the cat which is normally sleeping somewhere in between the german guy and his wife!

The son who lives at home does pick on his mum a bit but they do seem very close. She accepts he's a bit jack-the-lad.

colleysmill Sat 22-Mar-14 06:34:40

Channel 4 have nailed Friday nights for me over the last fortnight - agents of SHIELD, gogglebox followed by Last leg - it's been bliss.

StepfauxWife Sat 22-Mar-14 21:05:25

Just catching up on this week's episode, loving it!

Not so keen on the County Durham family, that little girl is a little grating.

Anyone notice the abundance of strawberries in the episode?! And they always seem to have Celebrations.

Trojanhouse Sun 23-Mar-14 09:21:23

Don't think that Sandy and Sandra are racist at all.

Logg1e Sun 23-Mar-14 10:14:28

I've really gone off them.

Lighthousekeeping Sun 23-Mar-14 11:27:32

I just wished they'd lose weight. Those parents are so young really to be that big and stuffing your face in front of the telly. Sometimes it puts me off watching it.

Amandine29 Tue 25-Mar-14 21:00:04

Has anyone seen the ad for Sam Bailey's album? It's made up of clips of goggleboxers reacting to her winning grin Can't believe how overexcited some of them got!

Amandine29 Fri 28-Mar-14 20:47:12

15 minutes! grin

StepfauxWife Fri 28-Mar-14 21:07:02

Love this! Leon is my hero.

Amandine29 Fri 28-Mar-14 21:13:10

I love Leon as well. I'm also starting to love Ralph (German guy). His delivery and way of speaking are brilliant.

Amandine29 Fri 28-Mar-14 21:13:45

Actually Leon just excelled himself in that last clip grin

2BFree Fri 28-Mar-14 21:15:57

Leon is wonderful - so blunt but the way he tells his wife how much he loves her is so touching.

Jellykat Fri 28-Mar-14 21:17:29

God, i just blubbed again with that Sports Relief clip.. interesting to see who else did out of the Gogglebox crew.

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 28-Mar-14 21:34:29

Aaa I wish I had taken Leon's call last week.

Lighthousekeeping Fri 28-Mar-14 21:35:59

I'm blubbing like mad. I turned it over the first time.

Jellykat Fri 28-Mar-14 21:44:24

grin at the penis bone conversations!

NoelOfLorst Fri 28-Mar-14 21:52:12

Leon is fabulous. I love how he's so Victor Meldrew-ish, but at the same time so liberal

KenDoddsDadsDog Sat 29-Mar-14 08:49:21

Yes , I love him for that too. He's so kind. Bet he was a fab teacher.
The silent boyfriend with the chips in his mouth was funny.

wintera Mon 31-Mar-14 14:45:36

I agreed with them all about that guy being really patronising to Bez. Leon and June were fabulous on Friday 'oh you're a martyr to the cause'.

Jellykat Mon 31-Mar-14 18:22:27

Very true wintera.. Also agree that Bez held his own, i'd vote for him!
As Dom (posh bloke, thats his name isn't it?) said, he can't do any worse then what we've currently got (plus i agree totally with Bezs' rant about fracking)..

Amandine29 Mon 31-Mar-14 19:08:29

Bez held his own? No way. He looked like he was on drugs!

Though I don't like Andrew Neil either.

Logg1e Mon 31-Mar-14 19:15:02

When Neil was trying to humiliate him, Bez seemed pretty sober in his responses...

KenDoddsDadsDog Mon 31-Mar-14 19:22:56

Bez is not that eloquent on drugs <rewinds to 90s nostalgia>

Jellykat Mon 31-Mar-14 20:22:00

Agree, that wasn't Bez on drugs <also rewinds to 90s nostalga>

I've read some rather good articles written by him lately, agree with a lot of what he's written.

Amandine29 Mon 31-Mar-14 20:25:07

I feel like I've stepped into another world... Bez and eloquent in the same sentence! grin

Jellykat Mon 31-Mar-14 21:05:20

Curaaaazy times Amandine grin

KenDoddsDadsDog Mon 31-Mar-14 21:24:11

Hey , eloquent is Bez minus maracas !

Coumarin Tue 01-Apr-14 02:26:27

Woah! Back up a minute...DOM IS 49? shock What the...

I mean, yes he has a touch of the silver fox about him and by no means looks old but forty nine ? confused

Sparklysilversequins Tue 01-Apr-14 06:52:12

Scarlett - the Geordie girl was on an MTV reality show about becoming a beauty therapist. She was equally annoying on that.

Logg1e Tue 01-Apr-14 07:56:35

I've just remembered that "Food vs Man" programme they showed. I couldn't believe that, I've never seen anything like it. I felt dirty just watching it, what a fucked up world we live in.

awaynboilyurheid Wed 02-Apr-14 21:27:00

Why does brown knitting mum have to swear so much it doesn't suit her children and husband doesn't so it seems she does it for effect its not nice, love Sandra and Sandy their expressions are hilarious Leon is so kind when he said he would have helped the people in Calais hiding on the lorries, he is a character with June but has a big heart, agree not sure new ones add anything but still love gogglebox

Logg1e Thu 03-Apr-14 07:19:53

That really needed some full stops.

breward Fri 04-Apr-14 20:57:08

I reckon we will tune in one week and the knitting woman will have finished her jumpers. The entire family will be sitting wearing matching poo coloured garments... Maybe she'll have knitted one for Leon and June and Sandra and Sandy too!!

StepfauxWife Fri 04-Apr-14 21:18:16

The family from Essex have me in stitches! The lady is hilarious.

StepfauxWife Fri 04-Apr-14 21:18:55

Leon's posture is awful!

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 04-Apr-14 21:24:14

Hate knitting mum.

Me too, she's doing my head in.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor Fri 04-Apr-14 21:34:04

Loved the lady vicar's comment about Farage..I'm adlibbing but the bit when she said the person representing change should be at least 'vaguely sane' pmsl

BTW has her husband ever been known to speak?

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord Fri 04-Apr-14 22:05:25

The german man is really awful. I don't think he actually like England.

I June and Leon. There wasn't enough Sandy and Sandra this week

Pobblewhohasnotoes Fri 04-Apr-14 22:13:25

I'm a nurse. God help that woman if she ever goes into hospital. Stupid thick bint.

NoelOfLorst Fri 04-Apr-14 22:33:34

Watching this weeks on 4+1

Howled at the dummy stuff in part one, but the Nigel Farage stuff went on way too long. I used to just dislike thicko knitting woman, but now I despise her, and her thicko husband and her foul mouthed thicko kids

NoelOfLorst Fri 04-Apr-14 22:45:00

And she's piling on the pounds

Yeah. Damn right I said it.

I'm on +1 as well. Haven't seen much this series, but I like June and Leon more and more. Knitting family are horrible.

GobbySadcase Fri 04-Apr-14 23:12:58

Wouldn't Farage deport knitting mum's husband anyway?

SinisterBuggyMonth Fri 04-Apr-14 23:16:48

Recorded it. The more I utterly hate knitting woman and her stupid wingey voice, the more I love Leon and June. They are just brilliant.

Ellenora5 Sat 05-Apr-14 01:48:37

"Nurses are not academic, if they were they would be doctors", I hope that comes back to bite her in the arse, mind you at least the brown knitting wasn't in evidence tonight, as for her husbands comments about Farage, well that just beggars believe.

The teacosy vicar is alright isn't she, and her hubby said something tonight smile

Still loving June and Leon, I bet he was a brill teacher, and had to laugh at him about Nigellas bust, and June just throws her eyes up, aww they are mad about each other

KenDoddsDadsDog Sat 05-Apr-14 06:40:36

I was waiting to see what stupid UKIP family would say about Hillsbrough. Utter twats.
Love the dad with two sons as well , he's so canny .

EYPEdinburgh Sat 05-Apr-14 15:13:04

Me and my Dad are always watching (only because i got him into it, which he doesnt admit to!).

The mum that knits is probably my worst nightmare! June and Leon crack me up. The two gay guys and the posh couple are my favs though. Their impresions are absoulutly brilliant.

I think everyone in Parliament should be made to watch Gogglebox, then they would see what people are actually like and realise what utter prats most of them are!!!!

NorbertDentressangle Sat 05-Apr-14 15:19:20

Teenage DD saw a bit of this with me the other week so when she saw it was on last night she was straight in there.

Her favourite participants are the vicars dog who is always next to the husband but all you see are it's legs akimbo, airing it's bits (the dog, not the husband ;-) ) and the posh, pissed couple (although last week DD was concerned as Mrs Posh & Pissed nearly sat on their tiny dog!).

She also laughs at the silent emo-kid as he says nothing and his expression never changes.

BananaBumps Sat 05-Apr-14 17:39:53

the silent emo-kid as he says nothing and his expression never changes.

we love him too.

LadyFlorenceCraye Sat 05-Apr-14 21:57:29

I loved the impression one of the gay guys did of the dummy used in the nursing show. He looked exactly like it grin

LadyFlorenceCraye Sat 05-Apr-14 21:57:59

Also a massive Leon and June fan (who isn't?).

wintera Sun 06-Apr-14 08:34:40

Leon and June are fab. My sister once saw June travelling on a train to Liverpool and she texted me all excited cos she'd seen her in the flesh. Made me laugh. I don't watch The voice but the clips they showed were awful of that. Is it really that bad? The singing was awful!

I also really like The Reverend, she seems lovely and I usually agree with what she's saying too.

Logg1e Sun 06-Apr-14 10:51:16

I love the Siddiqui family, the reverend and (obviously) June and Leon. I know I say this every week, but I can't stand/believe how shouty some families are.

Lighthousekeeping Sun 06-Apr-14 22:19:55

I'm watching it now. It's my guilty pleasure. I do wish they'd tone the swearing down a notch though.

I love the Siddiqui family too, they always seem so comfortable together.

WallyBantersJunkBox Mon 07-Apr-14 02:13:02

I had a chat and a boogie with the two Brighton hairdressers tonight!

They are so petite.

Logg1e Mon 07-Apr-14 05:45:40

What's the one on the left like in real life?

KenDoddsDadsDog Mon 07-Apr-14 06:53:53

It said in the paper that they are no longer together , just best mates . Not that I'm obsessed with gogglebox or anything .....

NoelOfLorst Mon 07-Apr-14 07:58:12

If you look on the sideboard thing behind the sofa, there are photos displayed of the one without specs, cuddling a different bloke

StepfauxWife Mon 07-Apr-14 09:52:15

The bit where he was impersonating the dummy had me in stitches!

Ooh they should do a Come Dine With Me Gogglebox special. I would LOVE that.

WallyBantersJunkBox Mon 07-Apr-14 10:11:05

The guy with the beard was really chatty about the program and his job etc. The guy with the glasses not so much. But to be fair they were on a night out with friends and he was trying to get a big round of drinks at the bar which was really busy.

He did stay for a quick photo but he was gritting his teeth a bit. grin After the concert there was a DJ and everyone was up on the floor going wild (Abbaversary celebration) - the guy with glasses wasn't there, but the other one was really getting down with everyone.

He is very handsome but tiny and tantastic!

Davros Mon 07-Apr-14 23:47:02

I don't mind the shouting and swearing at all but it is fun when they copy what is on like the medical dummies and singing Match of the Day etc. I'm not in love with June and Leon. They are a pair of leftie stereotypes, you know what they're going to think about everything before they open their mouths, too predictable. I like the Siddiqis, hairdressers, Step and Dom and Sandy and Sandra. That new young Geordie girl is dreadful

hickorychicken Wed 09-Apr-14 22:48:39

Im just catching up on 4od and the nurses dummy thing was hilarious, the comment about nurses not being accademic pissed me right off though, wd her dc's putting her right!
Dislike the shouty one direction spoilt girl, whinging because her Iphone 4 is too slow hmm

StepfauxWife Fri 11-Apr-14 21:32:17

Anyone watching this week? Dom of Steph and Dom seems particularly drunk this time!

Crazdsky Fri 11-Apr-14 21:34:09

I loved how Steph put down his attempts at being frisky

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 11-Apr-14 21:44:18

How funny they are talking about your Abba night wallybanters

Lurleene Fri 11-Apr-14 21:44:32

"Eve's boyfriend Jay is studying for an NVQ - in customer service". shock smile

LadyFlorenceCraye Fri 11-Apr-14 21:48:31

Customer service nvq!!! shock

That has to be the quote of the series grin

Ellenora5 Fri 11-Apr-14 23:31:48

I cracked up laughing at the german man watching silent boyfriend taking the fig rolls grin

Anotheronebitthedust Sat 12-Apr-14 21:39:36

stepfauxwife - yep Dom was utterly wasted! His attempts at throwing the popcorn were woeful.

I have tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I really don't like grown up son with squeaky voice (Craig). I'm sure they said he was 30-odd but he acts more immaturely than most of the teenagers. Mocking his parents for showing emotion about the deaths in WWI this episode was a particular low.

Anotheronebitthedust Sat 12-Apr-14 21:40:38

oh and boyfriend is listed as 'silent Jay' in the IMDB for the series! There was a post about him on buzzfeed too recently, he will be a pop culture icon soon I think!

breward Sun 13-Apr-14 08:28:00

Can't wait to see everyone watching the dancing granny on BGT! Was it ballroom or hip-op dancing?!

Lighthousekeeping Sun 13-Apr-14 22:20:08

That girl in the photo at Leon and Junes is beautiful. I wonder if it's their daughter?

foofooyeah Mon 14-Apr-14 05:49:54

How funny that we are checking out the photos on the sideboards!

I am worried about getting slightly obsessed with the vicars dogs privates ... But they are always on show. But DP and me cheered when vicars husband finally spoke.

Defenbaker Tue 15-Apr-14 00:06:12

I love this programme but am puzzled by the silent boyfriend (Jay?)... he contributes nothing in any way, and is not exactly eye candy, so really what's the point of him being there?

I love Posh n' Wrecked, and the gay hairdressers (though sometimes the constant swearing gets a bit tiresome). Also love the Asian family, esp. the father, who has a lovely manner about him - he's a quiet charmer, I think.

Not keen on the large lady, Sandy/Sandra (can't remember which is which), but she is quite a colourful character, so that's probably why they chose her.

ggirl Tue 15-Apr-14 00:24:00

are the couple who used to be in bed all the time the rev and hubbie but in daytime clothes???

GallstoneCowboy Tue 15-Apr-14 01:11:33

Just starting to get into this.

Love love LOVE Steph and Dom. Hilarious.

Can't stand Sandra and Sandy. Too thick to be that loud. Irritating.

Love both gay(?) couples.

Love Leon and June.

Can't remember the names of the fat family with the mouthy daughter with glasses? She thinks she's being clever and funny. She isn't. I bet she goes round saying "Yeah I'm terrible me - I don't care what I say!" hmm

Clacton couple quite nice. Son a twerp.

Listmaker Tue 15-Apr-14 14:31:27

I love Gogglebox too. I tweeted Siddiqui dad as he had just joined Twitter and was inordinately pleased to get a response...sad!

Love Leon too and how soppy he is about June! Although he said something this week that put me off him a bit but can't remember what now!

Steph and Dom can be great - so sweet how they hold hands although can't believe he's my age - must be the alcohol aging him!

Not so keen on knitting family or the other family with the two kids - the daughter is VERY loud and quite annoying.

The vicar's dog makes me laugh and weird silent Jay!

NorbertDentressangle Tue 15-Apr-14 15:33:21

The ones with the 2 teenage children (very loud gobby daughter) annoy me but I can't help but be fascinated by the shape of the Dads head - he looks like a cartoon character that would be known as 'Meathead' or similar.

NorbertDentressangle Tue 15-Apr-14 15:36:35

This family ...although you don't get the full affect of his funny shaped head until he starts moving it around a bit.

The Tappers (I think).

ggirl Tue 15-Apr-14 16:26:30

agree NorbertDentressangle the father's sheer size mesmerizes me!!
same with the other essex dad..the one with the annoying adult sone with squeeky voice..the dad is enormous!

VeraClaythorne Tue 15-Apr-14 20:18:21

Have had to namechange (it's the op).

I know she's a child but I have to agree with what people have said about Amy. She's so rude and she comes out with the silliest things. I can't help but cringe as soon as she opens her mouth.

Lighthousekeeping Tue 15-Apr-14 22:47:36

Isn't she only 11? They are all so loud in that house!

VeraClaythorne Wed 16-Apr-14 09:53:42

No way she's got to be more than 11?! The brother is 16 I think so I always thought she was a precocious 13/14 year old?

Lighthousekeeping Wed 16-Apr-14 17:35:09

Yes you are right she's 13 www.thejc.com/arts/film/113025/were-watching-them-watching-telly I can't remember the mum in that jewish mother of the year show. I really do need to stop watching crap tv!

VeraClaythorne Wed 16-Apr-14 20:34:15

I never saw that but I've heard it mentioned before. I wonder what the criteria for Jewish Mother of the Year was...

When I was reading that article I saw this one - very interesting story of how Leon and June got together.

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen Fri 18-Apr-14 21:06:49

"He's got his head in her fanny!"

CecEasterHall Fri 18-Apr-14 21:14:44

The more I see of Leon and June, the more I dislike them- he is getting more and more sleezy and creepy as time goes on, it's nasty.

Not keen on the posh ones or the Brighton family either but like all the others.

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 18-Apr-14 21:16:41

I love Leon and June , my faves

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 18-Apr-14 21:18:09

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen Fri 18-Apr-14 21:22:22

I think Jay just said something!!

Ellenora5 Fri 18-Apr-14 21:23:43

Oh thank god, the Tappers, I thought their surname was Yappers and used to think how appropriate shock

I still love June and Leon, would crack up laughing if he turned up on BGT grin

No sign of the knitting tonight in the Michaels household

Wonder has the baby been born yet

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen Fri 18-Apr-14 21:24:49

Did Kate's husband really just refuse to buy her an Easter egg and then say "You'll thank me for it"? shock

Ellenora5 Fri 18-Apr-14 21:36:28

Yep he did, I'd have thumped him grin

Ellenora5 Fri 18-Apr-14 21:38:33

LOVING this already.

"OMG - He's Jesus!"

ThursdayConsuelaLast Fri 25-Apr-14 21:09:53

I love that vicar lady.
I think she is hilarious

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 25-Apr-14 21:14:04

I'm going to start a campaign for removal of the UKIP high pitched woman

Retropear Fri 25-Apr-14 21:16:12

I'm not keen on vicar lady.Too fond of her own voice.Does her husband ever get to speak?

Trojanhouse Fri 25-Apr-14 21:16:15

Ken- she is awful

qazxc Fri 25-Apr-14 21:16:42

Did the long haired mute guy just mouth the word "Ed" to his girlfriend while the mother kept referring to him as "David"?

phalanges Fri 25-Apr-14 21:19:06

DH said vicar looks like a potato (hope she doesn't MN).

Retropear Fri 25-Apr-14 21:20:39

The Tappers must buy their white socks in bulk.

MamaPain Fri 25-Apr-14 21:22:01

I think the Tapper mum does quite a bit of shopping at next. She has lots of the same things as my SIL who gets everything from there.

headlesslambrini Fri 25-Apr-14 21:24:30

I luffs steph

Lighthousekeeping Fri 25-Apr-14 21:27:49

Mrs Tapper probably goes to Next Choice we have one in our area. It's fab.

Retropear Fri 25-Apr-14 21:31:26

Yes I love Steph and the Saddiquis. The dad comes across as a really nice chap.

MamaPain Fri 25-Apr-14 21:48:41

Mrs Tapper probably spends a lot of time in Brent Cross also like my SIL.

I'm watching this on delay, Christ the knitting family are right little englanders aren't they?!

Lighthousekeeping Fri 25-Apr-14 21:59:03

I'm just about to watch it if I manage to open this fizz

SirNoel Fri 25-Apr-14 22:01:55

I'm on 4+1 now

SirNoel Fri 25-Apr-14 22:05:26

God I wish they'd sack off the Thicko-Knitters

piscivorous Fri 25-Apr-14 22:10:31

I can't bear the screechiness of the Tappers and the daughter is extremely irritating. I'm sure when she is older she will look at this and cringe. Was she really on the Jewish mother thing? I don't remember her on that

I love Steph and Dom and love the Siddiquis. Most of the others I like some things about and dislike others. Leon and June are mostly likeable but then he'll say something really daft and make me cringe, same with Sandy & Sandra.

MamaPain Fri 25-Apr-14 22:15:05

I'm sure she wasn't in the Jewish mother thing. My Jewish mother watched that so I shall have to ask her, I only managed one episode.

This rabbit thing is making me cry. Thank god I didn't watch it.

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen Fri 25-Apr-14 22:20:39

Afaik there isn't a Next in Brent X. It's across the Nirth Circular in a separate pocket of shops, or maybe it moved? I don't go there unless it's absolutely unavoidable

SirNoel Fri 25-Apr-14 22:34:27

The Knitters are the Michaels I think?

Been irritating me since the Farage episode, and the mums stupid, ignorant and downright disrespectful comments about nurses.

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen Fri 25-Apr-14 22:37:19

Have I mentioned yet on this thread that Nikki Tapper was in my year at school? smile

Lighthousekeeping Fri 25-Apr-14 22:40:29

It said in the Jewish paper that the children go to an orthodox school and they are observant. Does that mean they don't watch telly on a Friday night? Just wondering as I don't know what night most of these shows are on.

I avoid the Brent Cross next as that bridge to get to the shopping centre gives me palpitations!

SirNoel Fri 25-Apr-14 22:41:35

Claim to fame there Three grin

Oh god the poor testicle man

ThreeLannistersOneTargaryen Fri 25-Apr-14 22:44:59

How to embarrass your teenage son on national television! grin

headlesslambrini Fri 25-Apr-14 22:47:49

Does anyone have a link to the infamous steph and dom falling off the sofa. I've heard about this but cant find the right episode.

MamaPain Fri 25-Apr-14 22:51:40

I think the Next in Brent X is in the retail park bit. I never go there anymore tbh. I always lose my car, it's like the Mini Cooper Bermuda Triangle.

I don't think their that frum but don't they do all the filming on one or two nights so am sure they could just arrange it to suit. Can't imagine it's an orthodox school either although I suspect I could guess the school.

Lighthousekeeping Fri 25-Apr-14 22:54:05

It's in that article I linked to. Not JFS.

I bloody hate Brent Cross but it's just so convenient.

MamaPain Fri 25-Apr-14 23:02:09

Sorry am on my phone so I couldn't see your link although I suspect it's the Jewish Chronicle one I just read. I was right about the school and ironically has her mentioning being in Brent X!

I might have to watch the Jewish mother comp and see if I can see her.

Lighthousekeeping Fri 25-Apr-14 23:07:39

I sadly watched it and can't remember her at all!

That poor man with the testicles.

breward Sat 26-Apr-14 07:43:38

Did anyone spot the vicar's skirt? It had images of the Virgin Mary and Jesus on it!

Was Steph feeding her dog posh chocolates last week? I thought human chocolate could be fatal for dogs... Glad to still see alive and well this week!

Poor Louis, I bet he can't wait for school on Monday with his mum telling the nation about his big balls as a baby!

the michaels family were really annoying me last night, the dad is loud, the mum is loud, and they are so bloody opinionated!
hey even the gay blokes were annoying me with their voices!

lets just stick with the siddiques, the chess/scrabble players, the one with germany family, june and leon, vicar and Steph and Dom and their so cute dog

Davros Sat 26-Apr-14 09:24:15

I suspected JFS but there are plenty of others. I don't remember Mrs Tapper from the Jewish mum of the year. I watched all of it and loved it but I am not Jewish, DH is and his sisters hated it!

NorbertDentressangle Sat 26-Apr-14 09:38:15

What's all this about Steph and Dom falling off the sofa??

I would also love to see a clip of this!

Deathraystare Sat 26-Apr-14 10:53:09

Keep missing it, forget it is on sad

Loved the bit with big testicle man. The comments were sympathetic and respectful, they seemed so sorry for him and then when it said at the end that he had died - the posh lady was horrified.

I like the two posh ones, the Siddiques and the man and woman who sit side by side in chairs - their comments to each other make me laugh (could not live with that guy though. I think I would kill him!). The one looking for a piece of paper who asked his wife what 'she' had done with it. I quite like the gays as well, though sometimes they do get on my nerves.

It is a bit like being a voyuer I suppose but it is nice to see how others watch as a couple/family. When I am round my friend's house even if she is wanting to see something she will talk all the way through it. They would never pick her!!!!Besides she seems only to watch what is on ITV. I checked, her tv does have other working channels and her remote works....

MamaPain Sat 26-Apr-14 11:01:44

Because I am a sad cow, and my mother is useless and couldn't remember even watching it when I asked her, I went on 4OD and found Jewish Mum of The Year, you can see here the women who were on it, and Nikki isn't there.

I suspect maybe she got into the final of being chosen for the show, or I think as the competition was run by The Jewish News, maybe she featured in that until the point where it became televised.

MrsWickens Sat 26-Apr-14 12:16:00

dailymail link and dailystar link

apparently Nikki Tapper was nominated (or auditioned according to daily star) for Jewish Mum of the Year and was spotted by researchers for Gogglebox.

qazxc Sat 26-Apr-14 20:26:04

I think you can go and stay with the posh ones. Weren't they on 4 in a bed, their B&B was lovely and the room came with a stocked free drinks cabinet as I recall.

qazxc Sat 26-Apr-14 20:28:00
awaynboilyurheid Sat 26-Apr-14 20:55:35

Oh we love Amy think she is hilarious , but her mother has a very screechy voice, when she said (about Oscar Pistoriuos trial) "why didn't she just say Oscar it's me calm your tits" my daughter and I laughed and still laugh about it, no one else in her family batted an eyelid tho!

awaynboilyurheid Sat 26-Apr-14 20:57:22

I should add not that the trial was anything to laugh about, have been watching it unfold, it was simply Amy and her expression that we like

Davros Sat 26-Apr-14 21:29:16

We lived that too. I think Amy is alright

Davros Sat 26-Apr-14 21:30:29

Argh! Loved. My phone always puts I instead of O

Anotheronebitthedust Sat 26-Apr-14 23:08:35

WRT to the 'little englanders' (Michaels) who are so pro-UKIP, surely only the mum is actually white British? This has been confusing me for some time, of course from the dad's accent etc I assume he was born here and is as British as anyone else, but it does make the fact they blatantly hold these views even more surprising.

Also - a question that's been bugging me - do you think they are told to sit in the same seats every day to make it easier for viewers to identify them? In my house it's a fight for the best chair, and then everyone else squishes in wherever!

qazxc Tue 29-Apr-14 00:05:30

I am so sick of seeing that dogs genitals.

Ellenora5 Tue 29-Apr-14 12:53:41

Me too qazxc, I posted about it the other day, I didn't see last fridays episode but I presume he was on display again, I just got tv on demand so I must look for the episode actually

NorbertDentressangle Tue 29-Apr-14 16:40:25

We're starting to wonder if the dog has a top half/head as I don't think I've ever seen it.

Maybe it's just half a stuffed dog, preserved by taxidermy due to it's impressive genitalia confused

VeraClaythorne Tue 29-Apr-14 19:23:59

The dog was caught drinking out of the milk jug one episode so it definitely does have a head grin

NorbertDentressangle Tue 29-Apr-14 21:04:35

oh I missed that! grin

DD loves Gogglebox but particularly the legs akimbo dog and silent Jay.

foofooyeah Fri 02-May-14 21:08:26

Haha great juxtaposition between drinking too much causing men to have long hair .... And quick cut ti silent jay.

VeraClaythorne Fri 02-May-14 21:21:00

His girlfriend asked him a direct question just then and he still didn't talk! At first I thought he just couldn't get a word in but it must be a gimmick?!

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 02-May-14 21:29:12

That dog !

Retropear Fri 02-May-14 21:29:29

Love Steph.grin

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis Fri 02-May-14 21:45:09

I am pmsl. Even dh who goes, it's a programme about watching TV, giggled at the X factor comments. The. Poshos, as dd calls them are fab.

smugmumofboys Fri 02-May-14 21:49:58

'Well I'm sold.' I love the Siddiquis.

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 02-May-14 22:00:05

I think June is going to smother Leon one day.

Mrsjayy Sat 03-May-14 10:37:54

the dog is my favourite he is the laziest dog ever i have never seen so many dog bits ever grin I think his name is buster btw, the trapper family were very loud last night i wish they would shush , I feel sorry for Jay i am sure he answered her and they are now editing him out poor lad

DillydollyRIP Sat 03-May-14 10:55:26

The Trapper family are so loud, they're starting to irritate me now. The drinking couple are my favourite and Leon & his wife(can't remember her name) Joan?

Mrsjayy Sat 03-May-14 10:56:36

her name is June I love them they are hilarious he is so inappropriate and june just cringes

Davros Sat 03-May-14 10:56:37

Leon is horrid. Always smutty "jokes" and he doesn't like ANYONE

Onesleeptillwembley Sat 03-May-14 11:00:32

We said last night the dog should be called willy - it's all you ever see of him!

DillydollyRIP Sat 03-May-14 11:03:28

I'd like to go & stay at Steph & Dom's B&B, it looks very nice.

Onesleeptillwembley Sat 03-May-14 11:04:04

Oh, and had a great (wineinduced) idea - a gogglebox roundup of people watching gogglebox! Genius or what?

Mrsjayy Sat 03-May-14 11:05:53

willy the dog grin the B n B is really posh you wouldn't want them making the full ENglish though they would be either still pissed or hungover

Mrsjayy Sat 03-May-14 11:06:48

oh why dont they ever watch googlebox on google box that is a genuis idea, I laughed when DOm got excited when Steph wanted a vodka red bull

I wonder if any of them have ever met the others? Can you imagine them all in a pub together? I can't see Leon and Steph hitting it off.

DillydollyRIP Sat 03-May-14 13:00:24

She'd provably slap him
And call him a perve!

TheHistoryGeek Sat 03-May-14 16:53:44

I loved the bit when they was watching the effects of alcohol on men and it then switched straight to the silent boyfriend stroking his hair grin

Vivacia Sat 03-May-14 16:54:56

I wonder if the adult son living with his parents is going to have any more luck with the ladies after this week's episode hmm

Mrsjayy Sat 03-May-14 17:06:10

that was the bit that he nearly said something i was holding my breath then he just stroked his hair

TheHistoryGeek Sat 03-May-14 19:25:53
awaynboilyurheid Sat 03-May-14 20:47:47

smug we loved that line too , ( "well I'm sold" from Mr siddique on the National front political broadcast) genius .

WildThong Sat 03-May-14 20:58:25

Steph and Dom are selling their B&B, I hope they don't leave Gogglebox.

StepfauxWife Sun 04-May-14 11:27:07

I think there should be a Come Dine With Me Gogglebox special!

Crackers for Leon, a Pot Noodle for Brixton Sandy and a vat of vodka for Steph and Dom.

I would love to see that!

Mrsjayy Sun 04-May-14 11:29:57

8we loved that line too , ( "well I'm sold" from Mr siddique on the National front political broadcast) genius .*

Or Wife Swap. Leon has to go and stay with Mrs Knitting. One of the two quiet, well spoken men on the sofa swap with Mr and Mrs Tapper.

Mrsjayy Sun 04-May-14 11:37:23

leons chair would need to go with him I think he has in beded in it

Mrsjayy Sun 04-May-14 11:38:17

oh talking of the nice quiet gentlemen I love how one of them always sits in front of the booby painting with his head in the middle

Vivacia Sun 04-May-14 15:08:41

I enjoyed the mastermind bit the other day with about three families asking, "who sets these questions??", cut to the two quiet men, "I once set the questions for a chess round". Brilliant editing.

VeraClaythorne Fri 09-May-14 21:40:56

Anyone watching tonight?

dannydyerismydad Fri 09-May-14 21:42:42
