I know it's been shit for ages but its just dire atm. I'm a bit behind and stopped watching when bunhead Lauren was getting drunk. Switched back on and she's back from rehab. Was her rehab in the Maldives? I'm sick to the back teeth of her and joey. What a mockery they've made of teen drinking showing her recovered. She's a terrible actress.

Lucy is weird and for an eastender she's got a v posh accent. As has bobby. And Dennis. And Sharon.

And I really don't like how every victim of sexual abuse is portrayed as promiscuous. In one episode we see Kat dragging a guy into an alley for a quickie and Whitney getting into a car with strange men. Not every child victim is like kat and bloody Whitney. Utter tosh. I need another long break from it. I only came back to it cos corrie is terrible these days.

cheerfulweather Sun 25-Aug-13 13:33:06

We needed a new Eastenders thread, the old one being full!

The last time I saw Corrie (never watched it) it was a bit like a pantomime. Guessing it hasn't changed much. EE is admittedly rubbish too, though grin

You're absolutely right. It's an insult, in a way, Lauren's miraculous, speedy, and downright unrealistic, recovery from alcohol. She's a dreadful actress. And the Joey love triangle (s) are tedious, with Lauren unhealthily obsessed attached to him.

I don't get the vast difference in accents between some of the siblings. confused

NotInTheMood Sun 25-Aug-13 21:02:34

I've stopped watching it. It is so boring compared to Hollyoaks. It's the same storey line, badly written and acted.

Figgygal Sun 25-Aug-13 21:05:47

I know it's utterly tedious at the moment if I didn't love Alfie so much and wasnt habituated would have given up ages ago.

Really love Michael these days read they killing him off when he leaves hmm

Bakingnovice Sun 25-Aug-13 21:44:22

Michaels leaving?! He's the only watchable person. Although I can't stand Janine any more. I used to love her but she's gone all up market and with a ridiculously posh accent. I liked her when she was poor and evil.

MrsSJG Mon 26-Aug-13 11:13:13

Where did janine get all that money? She was always skint? Eastenders is also annoying me at the moment

yellowballoons Mon 26-Aug-13 11:24:31

Corrie is annoying me the most.
In what planet are Sally and who ever he is called, an item. Though I do feel sorry for corrie, having to do hasty re scripting.

Now, Eastenders.
Agree, that is in a stoopid phase too!

Bakingnovice Mon 26-Aug-13 12:04:55

Janine inherited money from her gran. Am sure it was about 1million at the time but its now about 100 million. She's bought half the square, been around the world twice, buying half of canary wharf and employs half the cast. I just think its really silly. The other day she was turning her nose up at a shop sarnie. I don't think you'd change that dramatically after being poor all your life. Oh and I just cannot bear to watch Danny and his poofy hair.

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 18:55:37

I stopped watching it ages ago i was sick of watching Lauren gulping vodka down, I think i saw the one where she was in hospital though where has tanya gone ( i know the actress left) but why did tanya leave her daughters where did she go, DD had it on the other night whats herface had failed her exams so she wasn't going to be a vet hmm

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 18:55:52

ABBEY* i forgot her name

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 26-Aug-13 19:00:28

Tanya sold the salon and moved down to live near to where lauren was in rehab even though lauren only stayed for what seemed like 20 minutes (under a sunbed?) Tanya is staying wherever it is she moved with oscaaar.

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 26-Aug-13 19:02:04

all the soaps are really boring me atm. part of me is hoping that the police will charge Declan with murder just so i have something to be outraged about. i might even make a placard 'free the emmerdale one' grin

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 26-Aug-13 19:03:29

hang on-i think ive missed an ep of emmerdale- do they know it's alex now?

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:05:20

oh i love how they recover so quickly it is like phils 5 minute crack addiction, does she not know Laurens out of rehab and poor Abs all alone

cocolepew Mon 26-Aug-13 19:06:10

Who on earth is Cindy? DD watches it and I argued with her that Cindy was dead. I didn't realise there was another one confused

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:07:43

Oh i know i know grin cindy is cindys daughter by some dude then she died , ( i saw it on the front of the tv magazine)

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 26-Aug-13 19:10:35

yes i was trying to google who cindy was but all i got was stuff about the blonde cindy who i knew had died and wasn't 15 hmm it's all very odd.

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:11:49

maybe her gran has died she went to live with her gran after mum cindy died and lucy and peter are her next of kin ?

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:12:01

dont even get me started on new peter

Fairy130389 Mon 26-Aug-13 19:12:47

I'm just thankful the 'Lola gets baby removed due to lack of nappies' storyline is over!

Also, you would think that Ian would realise that all of his children are now imposters. Perhaps he's too busy recovering from his 5 minute nervous breakdown.

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 26-Aug-13 19:14:36

imposters? are they not his children?

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:14:54

oh yes I saw that when lola got the baby back that was sweet and i did awwy cos that was just the worst child neglect storyline ever

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:15:46

Oh isnt ronnie coming back now surely in real life a baby snatcher would have some sort of bail conditions not to come anywhere near the family of the baby she snatched hmm

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:16:15

different actors stephen

MyBoysAreFab Mon 26-Aug-13 19:17:04

I had no idea who Cindy was either.

It is shit now and the only reason I watch it now occasionally is because I think Michael is brilliant.

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 26-Aug-13 19:17:53

oops!! blush grin completely missed your point there!

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:19:37

why is him from Hollyoaks in enders now

cocolepew Mon 26-Aug-13 19:22:43

So Cindy isn't Ians daughter but she's gone to live with him?

Peter is very posh.

I'll start watching it when Michael French is back in it wink

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:24:20

I think he is probably the only living adult who can look after her <dunno> no he isnt the dad ,

ooo Michael French sigh

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 26-Aug-13 19:25:02

mrsjay do you mean Jamie lomas? or gary lucy?

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 26-Aug-13 19:25:51

who was Michael French in it?

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:25:53

Gary lucy
, isnt Jamie Lomas in corrie or is that somebody different

mrsjay Mon 26-Aug-13 19:26:18

who was Michael French in it?

David wicks

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 26-Aug-13 19:27:56

Jamie lomas is in EE- he is the guy that is always at the counsellor's when lauren arrives. cant remember his name in hollyoks- warren maybe?

ah david wicks- i vaguely remember him. when was he last in it?

NachoAddict Mon 26-Aug-13 19:50:07

I thought that about Ronnie too Mrsjay

MyBoysAreFab Tue 27-Aug-13 09:40:26

I watched last night's episode, and - WTF was it all about? It was truly dreadful, what on earth are the scriptwriters on?

cheerfulweather Tue 27-Aug-13 10:05:00

It's not good at the moment. I don't know how true it is, but I was reading that Emmerdale (which I imagine to be truly dire) has overtaken EE in the ratings...

I liked the part about the exam results. Abbey [sic] doesn't get the results she needs to become a vet, blames Lauren. Lauren comes into the Vic with Kirsty (who has been helping hmm) and tells Abbey that she can still become a vet if she does a different degree and an extra year. Abbey is handed a printout, looks at it for all of two seconds, then starts shouting "Yeah!" "Hooray!" Dreadful, dumbed down script and acting.

I think it will be interesting (if typically unrealistic grin) when Ronnie returns

Shortbutsosweet Tue 27-Aug-13 10:13:19

Disappointed with last nights episode also.
Eastenders does not do teenagers well at all.
Can't really see the point of having Cindys daughter Cindy on the programme at all. She hasn't been mentioned since she was a baby and surprise surprise she's back.
Yawn Abby is pregnant! hmm
Carl the comic book gangster is tedious
Tanya has left her daughters with their dodgy stepmother, surely they could have written her out better than that, or just got another person to play her.
Gutted my favourite character Micheal Moon wasn't in it yesterday, still getting the best lines and with irony.

mrsjay Tue 27-Aug-13 10:49:17

Yawn Abby is pregnant

is she shock

monikar Tue 27-Aug-13 14:38:50

It's all so simple in the world of EE. I also thought the episode where Lauren sorts everything out for Abi by finding out that she can do a different degree and an extra year was rather far-fetched. I checked with DD who said that this is a possibility - Abi could do Zoology and then transfer to Vet Science after a year BUT she would need the minimum entry requirement for Vet Science in the first place, and even though they haven't revealed her results, as she is so glum, I have a feeling it is not that good.

I read that Peggy is coming back briefly to visit Phil when he has a car accident in a couple of weeks.

cheerfulweather Tue 27-Aug-13 17:37:45

Yes. I wanted to know her grades. If she'd just missed out...maybe, but it didn't sound like that at all.

Agree also about the accents from Ian's children. They must be sojourning at finishing school during their disappearances from the square.

monikar Tue 27-Aug-13 18:03:10

Abi made it sound like her exams were a disaster and for Vet Science you need something like AAA...

TwllBach Tue 27-Aug-13 18:07:59

Yawn Abby is pregnant

Is she???

May I take this opportunity to point out that I predicted this at the beginning of the first Enders thread....

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 27-Aug-13 18:18:20

I think it was only a matter of time before abby became pregnant- or at least had a scare. ever since jay first looked at her.

SilveryMoon Tue 27-Aug-13 18:24:51

Agree, EE is utter shite at the moment. I think Tamwar should get his own spin-off, he is my utter favourite!
Can't stand Whitney, Kat, Roxy, jack, Max, Carol, Alice (although I will if she gets with Tam), Joey and the rest of the prattish cast.
I do like Alfie, Bianca, Janine (although agree about her being annoying since the money) and I'm sure a few others.
For me, Janine was at her best when she was with Ryan, they were great together but he hadto then go all soppy for Stacey. I was pleased when Michael came in and she could still be evil with someone, but she's now not great.
Michael's growing on me as is Kirsty, but Carl, his face is the biggest over-actor they've had on here in a long time. Can't wait for him to do one.
Dexter/Ava/Sam are a bit pointless I feel. They could have done loads witht he Ava/Cora storyline, but that seems to hve been forgotten so that Lauren can turn into a half a bottle of wine drinking alcoholic. Laughable (not alcoholism but EE attempts at covering it) and yes, Ronnie. I like Ronnie (until she snatched the baby) but really? Would she really be abkle to just walk back onto the square and live (most likely) in the home she stole the baby from???????? (where will she go but move in with Roxy??????)

SilveryMoon Tue 27-Aug-13 19:32:42

Also itching to know what's going on with Peter and Cindy........

Blondeshavemorefun Tue 27-Aug-13 19:35:52

sadly ee is shit - but i still watch it grin

havnt a clue how ian is now looking after cindy junior, as no relation to him tho ov half sister to peter and lucy

wonder why italian stallion hasnt been contacted?

SilveryMoon Tue 27-Aug-13 19:42:45

Who is Cindy's dad, do we know?

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 27-Aug-13 19:46:30

I am so confused by this whole cindy#2, peter business.

does anyone know what it's all about. who is cindy's dad? why is she not living with him? what does she know about peter? where was peter living before he came back to the square?

Blondeshavemorefun Tue 27-Aug-13 19:48:51

cindys dad is an italian

Tiredemma Tue 27-Aug-13 19:48:54

what is the shit with this at the moment.

This whole New Forest set up is a complete non-story.

cocolepew Tue 27-Aug-13 19:49:15

Blondeshavemorefun Tue 27-Aug-13 19:53:28

catsoup Tue 27-Aug-13 20:41:18

I reckon Peter's slept with Cindy when he was staying with her family in Devon. The way he acts all shifty and constantly wants to get away from her makes me think that. Plus it's the kind of unimaginative shite that the EE scriptwriters come up with.

SilveryMoon Tue 27-Aug-13 20:46:58

That's what my dp reckons cats! Surely they wouldn't do another incest-y storyline when we're still kind of in the Lauren/Joey crap, would they?
But, not sure what else it could be? "Do you think they'll like you as much if they knew what I know?" or something like that, Cindy said to him.....

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 27-Aug-13 20:51:23

I was thinking it was something to do with a girlfriend in devon or something- I've realised now that he was staying with her in devon- I suppose because her dad was married to cindy#1? and he was his stepdad? when did cindy#1 die?

SilveryMoon Tue 27-Aug-13 20:58:27

Don't think it's got anything to do with a gf, why would that be an issue, e wasn't/isn't seeing anyone in Walford.
When he was getting the nfunny alls and when he smashed up his phone, I thought he must have been on the rob over there and some heavy Carl style gangster was after him, not a 14 year old girl.
Cindy Jr lives with her maternal grandma in Devon, who would also be Peter and Lucy's nan and that's who they went to stay with when the visited Devon.
Cindy Sn died not long after Cindy Jr was born i think

Peter and his friend swam in a river drunk and his friend died. so he came back to Walford

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 27-Aug-13 21:08:31

ahh thank you- that makes a lot more sense. I have no idea why a girlfriend would be a problem- I have zero imagination grin I was thinking maybe he'd gotten her pregnant and then legged it out of there leaving her alone to cope with it.

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 27-Aug-13 21:11:32

is that true hashtag?

SilveryMoon Tue 27-Aug-13 21:12:10

Is that true hash? And what, he's living with the guilt of not being able to save him and all that shit? Edge-off-my-seat-stuff wink

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 27-Aug-13 21:16:11

or maybe he's done something to his nan? stolen her savings to pay his gym membership? grin

SilveryMoon Tue 27-Aug-13 21:20:10

Peter is looking quite hot isn't he?! blush
Ian has spoken to the gran, so think we can rule that out. I can see the story that hash has said coming to light

LillianGish Tue 27-Aug-13 21:30:49

Stopped watching while on holiday for three weeks and haven't been back since - seven weeks in total now - and I used to be addicted. Just complete tosh as my skim read of this thread confirms. Feel so much better for it. Just thought I'd share that!

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 27-Aug-13 21:32:21

yes I quite enjoyed yesterdays episode when he stripped off- even if he is about 10 years younger than me grin what age is he supposed to be? 18?

ok so granny's ok and not fending off the balliffs. it has to be something that will throw a spanner in the works for him and Lola which appears to be just on the horizon. I really hope they don't drag the arse out of it and just bloody tell us what it is that cindy knows.

SilveryMoon Tue 27-Aug-13 22:15:05

I was hopeful for Lola and Dexter

monikar Tue 27-Aug-13 22:16:25

I thought Cindy Sn died in childbirth while she was in prison. The father of Cindy Jn was not revealed in the story I don't think, I think we are supposed to presume it was her boyfriend at the time - I remember Ian opening a letter/telegram telling him she had died.

cocolepew Tue 27-Aug-13 22:16:55

Thanks, StephenFry grin

yes its true. or so I've heard.

he blames himself as he was the one encouraging said friend to swim further out.

looked a bit freaked by the water too didn't he?.

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 27-Aug-13 23:34:10

ooh well spotted hashtag- he did try and put the others off canoeing, saying it was too expensive.

who are we all blaming for taking phils money?

wouldn't fancy being in dexters shoes.

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 27-Aug-13 23:51:20

I don't think it's gone- I think it's in abby's bag. but I reckon cindy had a good look for it. she was the one alone in the caravan wasn;t she?

Exactly what I had said at home put it in the bag and keep the bag on your person.

yes I guess cindy takes the blame. or maybe the girl in the pub with dexter took it? she left before him??

StephenFrySaidSo Wed 28-Aug-13 00:40:02

ooh! I didn't realise that about the girl from the pub. I was MNing at the time grin her dad did seem a bit dodgy didn't he? maybe she was a set-up to distract dexter while he ransacked the caravan and then he called her (didn't he?) to let her know the coast was clear?

yes. that was my thinking. if its not that I think the eastenders script writer's need sacking off. you and I can take their place we have a good story going here. ha

StephenFrySaidSo Wed 28-Aug-13 00:45:46

grin

I think they need sacking off anyway! it's awful atm.

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 28-Aug-13 10:23:44

Death of friend is better plot then shagging half sister

So they all complain about lack of luggage space in car yet no one thought of moving parcel shelf and would have found cindy there?

NachoAddict Wed 28-Aug-13 20:47:31

Where did you hear about the friend hastag?

Ohhh I suspected Cindy first for the money but it would make sense that abbey kept it in the bag.

I read it in a magazine nacho

NachoAddict Thu 29-Aug-13 22:01:42

Well done hashtag you were right! Glad they didn't drag it out.

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 30-Aug-13 08:01:11

Felt sorry for Peter when he told his sad tale and I wanted to hug him or get lexi to - and she said nothing and walked away with Abbie

And ffs Abbie - take a test before worrying /telling jay - also she's looking really chunky sad esp her legs - didnt used to look like that sad

Leaving £10k under the sink - obv girl stole it back

Tut tut jay for kissing her

SilveryMoon Fri 30-Aug-13 09:40:44

Abby's always been on the chunky side. I think they did the casting well there because she does remind me of Tanya (although Abby annoys the f out of me)
Didn't really watch last nights, will give it a look later.

StephenFrySaidSo Fri 30-Aug-13 09:47:03

same here silver WRT abby/Tanya. I think soaps need to have more 'chunky' young actors tbh. they all seem to be stick thin at the moment. i'm thinking of poppy/lauren/lucy. even dexter and jay are very thin. Tanya and abby although both heavier, dress really well and don't appear overweight to me.

Kaluki Fri 30-Aug-13 12:53:04

Did we see Abby with the money in her bag at the beginning of last nights or did I imagine that?
I find it hard to concentrate on EE lately - its such a lot of bollocks.
As if Phil would trust a bunch of teenagers with a deal like that.

SilveryMoon Fri 30-Aug-13 20:25:00

Yes, I love Tanya's style. I want it, but am a frump
Kaluki that was the pregnancy test, I'm sure.

Kaluki Fri 30-Aug-13 20:30:56

Yes you are right!
I should concentrate more!!! smile

SilveryMoon Fri 30-Aug-13 20:33:47

So, it was Cindy. What a surprise. That scene with Phil and Dexter was shit

Kaluki Fri 30-Aug-13 20:35:49

What a shit plan!!
Of course phil wouldn't believe it!!
Numptys!

cleoowen Fri 30-Aug-13 20:52:31

I thought how stupid it is when Lauren is an alcoholic that as soon as she gets back her family have a party with alcohol, they have it in the house, max is constantly drinking,in front of her and she goes on a night out with her 'friends' to a club. Surely if your dd was an alcoholic you wouldn't do this.

I am bored of all the Lucy,Whitney,Joey,Lauren thing. How,many times can he be with one and chest with another. Plus Lucy is meant to be her best friend and spikes her drink, tries to steal her boyfriend. Who needs friends like, that.

StephenFrySaidSo Fri 30-Aug-13 21:00:16

did they just leave all their bags in the caravan park?

SilveryMoon Fri 30-Aug-13 21:13:09

cleo I know, right! My best friend is a recovering alcoholic. She has been sober for 11 years, she still goes to meeting 3 times a week at least, and although she now goes to pubs bars etc and has people dinking around her, it took years to get to that stage.

SoleSource Sat 31-Aug-13 16:32:46

The Easties is utter rubbish, my brain cell almost died last night sad

Bakingnovice Sun 01-Sep-13 21:04:32

Utter crap.

Are Carl and the northern guy from Lauren's counselling brothers? Can't tell them apart. I've decided to switch off until Carl fucks off. I can't watch his Carl comedy villain routine. He makes me throw things at the tv.

Goodbye EE. And you used to be good viewing.

Blondeshavemorefun Sun 01-Sep-13 22:30:07

just catching up

so cindy stole the money - that will REALLY make the rest of the teenagers in ee like her - not!!!!

and yes the lauren/booze story is stupid - her family/friends would try the best to avoid booze if for the first 6mths around her

and if that addicted and shakes etc, she wouldnt be ok in 2 weeks and back to normal life

ChocsAwayInMyGob Mon 02-Sep-13 12:17:21

Bakingnovice, you are so right. I have watched EE on and off since it began (old gimmer) Lately we have loads of eps stacked up on SkyPlus and I'm just not interested in watching them..

I hate Carl, I hate how they have to have a nasty baddie in at all times they are always unrealistically evil with no good points. Cindy Jr was so obviously the thief she may as well have worn an "I stole it" T shirt.

Janine is just frustrating to watch. she can only do bitch these days.

I might watch again when Ronnie comes out and the cast are all over the age of 19 again. I do like NewPeter though.

Tiredemma Mon 02-Sep-13 12:23:35

I've deduced that its all utter shite.

I cannot bear Dexter and all his 'ghetto' chat shit and Abby makes me feel depressed

ChocsAwayInMyGob Mon 02-Sep-13 13:51:46

I know it's a cliche but it really is too depressing for words. Its misery heaped upon misery. There is no light relief. I just don't want to watch it right now.

It seems to be:

Carl being menacing and scaring people.
Phil being menacing and scaring people.
Cindy Jnr being panto style sly and crafty.
Janine making Michael's life a misery.
Billy getting fired and rehired all the time.

The message ends up being: nothing good ever happens and if it does it soon goes wrong. You may as will give up now. Life is all grey and misery.

Where Corrie gets it right is where they do a little comedy scene or a one liner when things get too dark.

Bakingnovice Mon 02-Sep-13 16:41:20

Chocs you are spot on. Why is Ian always being blackmailed? It's the same story he's had for 20 years. And how can Carl turn up and demand Derek's money? I never thought if say this but after seeing Carl I want Derek back. Carl is too tiny to be scary and his face makes my eyeballs itch.

ChocsAwayInMyGob Tue 03-Sep-13 13:11:14

Baking- that's right, I remember now that Phil was blackmailing him for ages, then Lucy, then Janine, and now Carl. the writers must sit there saying "Hmm, Ian has been blackmailed by anyone recently, we'd better introduce another thuggish character!"

ChocsAwayInMyGob Tue 03-Sep-13 13:11:25

*hasn't

Kaluki Wed 04-Sep-13 12:50:47

Carl has a face like a foot and Phil has a face like a tomato.
Neither of them are scary at all.
What was that car crash about yesterday? Was it deliberate??

StephenFrySaidSo Wed 04-Sep-13 13:02:12

That crash was a bit unexpected wasnt it! I couldnt work out if carl had that planned or was an accident- not sure where its leading to storyline wise.

ChocsAwayInMyGob Wed 04-Sep-13 13:04:55

I thought the car crash was a bit of an anti climax. Neither DH nor I really understood what was going on. There was very little build up, it just seemed tacked on to the rest of the episode. If you're going to spend a million on a stunt, you need good writing to build up to it.

StephenFrySaidSo Wed 04-Sep-13 15:12:56

Yes anti climax is right. No build up at all and tbh we all know phil isnt dead- phil never dies- and carl hasnt been in long enough for a dramatic death to bother anyone.

HotDogHotDogHotDiggityDog Wed 04-Sep-13 15:56:19

I haven't watched EE for years because of it's shitness.

I caught the end of it last night.

Why the fuck is Phil still alive? How many accidents/murder attempts has he had? Surely he should be dead by now?

Who is he, Voldermort?

And don't get me started on Ian....

testedpatience Wed 04-Sep-13 16:11:43

Did Carl (i've smoked too many fags voice) crash the car on purpose and if he did, why? Was he trying to kill himself and Phil and what was the relevance with the locked glovebox in the car?

Have i missed something leading up to this 'oh so dramatic' storylinehmm

I'm also thinking of writing in to tell them to get Doe eyed Abby to stop doing that stupid giggle, nervous chuckle thing she does everytime anyone speaks to her. It makes me cringe on her behalf!

I'm turning into an Emmerdale fan and ditching EE.

StephenFrySaidSo Wed 04-Sep-13 17:18:47

Tested if you missed something then so did i and ive seen every episode. The story was that carl and phil were doing a deal on dodgy cars, they were on their way to meet a guy ( i think) havent a clue what the glove box was about except that it seemed to be the distraction that caused carl to crash.

ChocsAwayInMyGob Wed 04-Sep-13 18:14:39

I just think EE has totally gone off the boil lately and blowing a million on the stunt didn't stop me leafing through a magazine. No build up, no tensions, and Carl is just a one dimensional villain from central casting.

Its a sha-aa-ame!

I stopped watching EE about 2 months ago, but glad to hear I haven't missed anything grin. Also annoyed with Dexter's ghetto voice and scowl. And Abby pregnant? Pleeeaaase not another teenage pregnancy on EE!! Who is Carl? I don't care.

But I will tune in before Xmas when the scriptwriters get in gear and hopefully it gets good again grin.

Tiredemma Thu 05-Sep-13 10:51:08

Im not going to watch it anymore.

its beyond shit.

Blondeshavemorefun Thu 05-Sep-13 14:40:22

CARL crashed on purpose as is going to blame max for tampering with brakes

Everyone heard max yell at Carl I'm
Gonna kill you

So Carl has made it look like max did the brakes and phil is meant to be in a coma and apparently manslaughter - tho that would mean phil dies .......

Havnt seen tue so havnt seen crash yet

Know Peggy was meant to come back in autumn as phil in a coma ......

ChocsAwayInMyGob Thu 05-Sep-13 16:33:25

Thanks for explaining that Blondes, I was none the wiser actually watching the episode.

I thought Carl un did phils seat belt as he leaned over it was defo on at the start of the car scene, but when they crashed he didnt have it.just read the spoilers and a can't believe eastenders glorifies criminals like this I hate carl

AmandinePoulain Thu 05-Sep-13 20:42:11

Carl lied about the vehicle documents being in the glovebox (I guess the cars dodgy so he doesn't have any), we saw it empty earlier. Then he locked it. In the car he told Phil that he would find them in the glovebox, so Phil tried to open it but couldn't because it was locked. Giving Carl a chance to lean over and undo the seatbelt I guess? confused

Verycarefullythinking Thu 05-Sep-13 23:15:52

Tonight's episode isn't available on iplayer (greyed out, so you can't click on it). Does anyone know why that might be?

WhatDoesTheDogSay Fri 06-Sep-13 06:45:03

Carl is almost unbearably annoying. As if phil would have gone anywhere with him in the first place! And would max really be almost instantly arrested, and in such a public way?

Actually, I don't know why I'm even questioning it - there is no logic whatsoever. Oh, as for the Sharon/Ava thing, where has that come from?!

WhatDoesTheDogSay Fri 06-Sep-13 06:46:50

Verycarefullythinking - don't know why that would be. But, if you've not already seen it, rest assured that you haven't missed much wink!

SoupDragon Fri 06-Sep-13 07:03:21

Max is a prat to have risen to his baiting so many times, though.

I didn't bother to watch the crash episode. It's not like it's difficult to catch up if you miss a few episodes, I find.

DownstairsMixUp Fri 06-Sep-13 22:22:53

WTAF is carl about? I've seen better acting off them donkeys laughing like humans on youtube!!

On and i thought this months ago, why the hell would alfie get with the sister of the nutter that stole his CHILD! Seriously its london, there's plenty of other fish in the sea. hmm Roxy is just a terrible character to, pretty much diving on alfie as soon as him and kat split up and being so needy and desperate. Just no. She needs to go. Same with them hideous hair extensions, she looked so much better when she had a bob!

Alfie and Kat just get back together.

It's just shit at the moment isnt it? Why do i insist on watching it?!

StephenFrySaidSo Fri 06-Sep-13 22:34:40

is it just me or is that copper carl's identical twin?

Sleepyfergus Sat 07-Sep-13 11:28:50

Catching ip on episodes and don't really know why's going on with Phil/Carl/Kirsty/Max. And furthermore, I don't really care.

WTF is going in with Lola's tan? Just watched her storming out of the Arches and she is ridiculously tanned. I know she works in the salon but even with staff rates, how does she afford it???

WhatDoesTheDogSay Sat 07-Sep-13 11:41:48

Lola is such a pretty girl! The tan doesn't do anything for her. Not sure whether it's meant to be the character's tan or if that's how the actor likes to roll. not that it matters in the grand scheme of things!

SoupDragon Sat 07-Sep-13 11:50:44

Why is she so tanned?! I agree!

Blondeshavemorefun Sat 07-Sep-13 18:30:24

she seems to get spray tanned every few weeks or so,looks very tanned prob needs to wash it off after filming and then fades over time

tho sure i saw a cock up the other day, she came back from car/money trip and so so colour, next shot she was very tanned going somewhere in the square, then next shot think in the salon she was palleish - ie they record inside bits then outside bits and put together - tut tut

god i am so sad to notice this

Where has Bianca gone please? Thanks.

StephenFrySaidSo Sun 08-Sep-13 14:33:50

Bianca has gone to college/ some course to learn how to be a clothes designer. Apparently shes always wanted to be one confused

Kaluki Sun 08-Sep-13 22:30:52

She will be there for 6 weeks and then come back fully qualified!!

DTisMYdoctor Sun 08-Sep-13 22:33:27

I have no idea why I clicked on this as I gave up EE a few years ago, but didn't Bianca go off to do fashion at college back in the day when she first left?

Sleepyfergus Sun 08-Sep-13 22:43:47

Yeah she did. Did she finish it though? Anyway, it's the same college apparent, same course etc. and just so happened to have spaces available to start the very next day. How convenient!

Is Bianca in RL (can't recall her name) off screen for a reason. It seemed very sudden and she's not preggers this time!

cheerfulweather Sun 08-Sep-13 22:52:41

Residential course, in clothes design, for six weeks hmm She'll be qualified then? Hmm

< Though I do know you have to suspend disbelief a fair bit to watch EE nowadays>

Sleepyfergus Sun 08-Sep-13 22:58:46

Ha ha, yes, she'll be uber qualified and will be knocking out amazing designs for t'market stall. How she'll manage that when running the stall, and bringing up her 257 children, god only knows. But in soapland, ANYTHING is possible! wink

JRmumma Sun 08-Sep-13 23:08:28

Has anyone noticed that Sam cant look down? He always bends at the knees rather than tilt his head forwards. Really annoys me but not as much as Sharon's wide eyes every second sentence or Lucy's flared nostril angry face!

Sleepyfergus Sun 08-Sep-13 23:11:14

Is Sam the teachers ex? He gives me the creeps. Dunno why, I just feel he's a bad'un.

Blondeshavemorefun Sun 08-Sep-13 23:17:06

Sam is Ava's ex - dexters dad who left him
As a baby

But now wants to play happy families and Ava just forgave him - like they do in soaps !!!!

She left her plummy headmistress job miles away - tho lives in a shitty area to move to Albert square and work in a play scheme in holidays

StephenFrySaidSo Sun 08-Sep-13 23:32:59

yes he gives me the creeps too! I think there'll be something dodgy about why he suddenly turned up again.

Kaluki Mon 09-Sep-13 11:52:37

I wonder how Sam found them after 20 years and joe come Ava ended up living in the neighbouring council estate to her mum and tanya?? Such coincidences!!!
The return of Ronnie storyline is beyond ridiculous too - as if she would be released to live in the same place as the baby she stole!!!!

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 09-Sep-13 12:32:10

I agree kaluki. I wonder how a soap would run if it were committed to sticking to current legislation, incomes etc. I bet they could still make it more exciting than this bollocks that's on EE at the minute.

Kaluki Mon 09-Sep-13 12:44:20

Don't get me started!!!
I'd love to know how Max and Tanya could afford that great big house by running a poxy car lot and a salon. They were almost bancrupt a while back and then suddenly they were loaded again. Then Tanya buggers off and sells Booty in no time at all leaving Max and Kirsty to pay for the house from just the income from the car lot (which never seems to sell any cars) and Kirsty's bar job.
And where on earth does all Phil Mitchell's money come from - its like a never ending supply!
I'd love to live on Albert Square - have a shitty little market stall and be able to live in a great big town house and drink in the pub everyday and night.

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 09-Sep-13 12:47:41

yes!! phil who never sets foot in the garage other than to empty the cash box always has massive wads of cash and can pay shirleys rent for months on end! how?

Kaluki Mon 09-Sep-13 13:01:38

And why is R&R only open in the daylight hours?
They go in, have a good old dance, get pissed and stumble out and its still afternoon outside?
grin

StephenFrySaidSo Mon 09-Sep-13 13:40:30

grin

the only time it's open at night is when kat or whitney have to stumble out drunk into a dangerous situation.

monikar Mon 09-Sep-13 16:02:22

It's very true that Phil is also loaded - I have watched EE for years blush and as long as I can remember he has always had wads of cash. He has a safe in his house behind a picture frame which is permanently bulging with money. His wallet is always stuffed with notes too.

How?

TrueStory Tue 10-Sep-13 12:04:41

I'd love to live on Albert Square - have a shitty little market stall and be able to live in a great big town house and drink in the pub everyday and night Kaluki grin.

More unrealism : what I have thought is how few families live in actual houses in inner London any more - certainly not people like Bianca in the East End anyhow - they would be living on a housing estate.

Bakingnovice Wed 11-Sep-13 18:09:23

I just switched on randomly to see if it had improved. Who the fuck is cindy? Don't we have enough new teens (dexter, Lola, Peter, Lucy, poppyetc) without another bore? What's the point of Carl? Why is Ian doing that grovelling face again? Ffs. I can't watch. Flouncing off again to watch junior master chef.

1944girl Wed 11-Sep-13 18:20:12

So now that Ronnie is back Kat becomes paranoid about Tommy. She has hardly mentioned him for months, just works on the stall then goes out getting drunk every night. She has suddenly remembered she has a child because the woman who stole him is allowed to live on the square again.
More madness by the scriptwriters.

I know it's just a soap (I really really do) and I know she was ill at the time of the kidnap but that behaviour last night kind of struck me as a bit icky- like an abuser coming back to where they committed a crime. and there was a very telling scene with Michael where she reminded him that he didn't have scarlett or Janine anymore but the way she said it was sinister.

And it appears I missed nothing....will plod on though but they are risking losing loyal fans with this shite.....

LynetteScavo Thu 12-Sep-13 20:07:02

In yesterdays EE, Shirley put some coins in the duke box then said..."This one's for you 'Ev" or something similar.....I eagerly waited to see which Wham! song it would be, but no music played!!!

I seriously feel like complaining to the BBC. This shoddyness is just not on. DH thinks Shirley pressed the button for Club Tropicana, as she was off to Greece to live in the sun for forever (on the £2K she nicked from Phil hmm)

have i missed a sneaky episode?

last I saw of Shirley she was in the garage and carl shut the dorr with a filthy look on his face.

but she's not in it now. has he killed her??

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this, but how many times has some random 'ard man turned up in The Square and tried to take over Phil's businesses when he's in hospital/in Portugal/in prison? It's ridiculous. Plus the fact Phil's businesses must make bugger all money.

I don't know why I watch this crap. hmm

burberryqueen Fri 13-Sep-13 21:11:15

YoureBeingADick Fri 13-Sep-13 21:20:20

no Chinese people either, the masoods are the only Asian people and until a few years ago Winston and carol's husband (cant remember his name) were the only black people. hardly representative of east London is it? don't get me started on the absence of any kind of disability!

youbethemummylion Fri 13-Sep-13 21:22:06

I dont get how one goes about taking over someones business when they are away. If they enter premises without permission take stock or money etc have them arrested. If they start working there let them then dont pay them when you return. I mean without lots of paperwork and solicitors etc how can they take the business over?

givemeaboost Fri 13-Sep-13 21:26:33

billys daughter janet has downs and jean has mental health issues, both disabilities!

YoureBeingADick Fri 13-Sep-13 21:37:24

"billys daughter janet has downs"

when was the last time she was even referred to in the show never mind seen? they whisked her away as soon as they thought they'd ticked the 'disability' box. it's a joke.

burberryqueen Fri 13-Sep-13 21:38:50

have never seen any child with Downs in 'stenders, ever....mind u i only watch it now and again - it is just too depressing.

Bakingnovice Fri 13-Sep-13 22:18:15

And the masoods are hardly representative. I have lots of Muslim mates and none of them go to the pub every night for a juice. And although I quite like jean her character is unrealistic. She's more bonkers than she is bipolar.

YoureBeingADick Fri 13-Sep-13 22:49:57

I agree- that's why I said "hardly representative of east London" although I was actually talking about the fact they are Asian rather than their religion. but I still agree- not representative. I agree about jean too- not a good or accurate IME representation of someone with bi polar.

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Sat 14-Sep-13 01:07:54

I don't think Jean's portrayal of bi polar is great.

I've enjoyed the couple of episodes I've watched this week (haven't been able to say that for a while), I think Ronnie's a decent actress, by EE standards. I noticed Carl said "Game on, Ronnie!" I wondered if that was deliberate (That's the only programme I remember her from).

I wonder if Shirley's dead? It looks likely, which would be a shame.

burberryqueen Sat 14-Sep-13 07:24:34

I guess we are supposed to think that Shirl is dead, in which case she probably is not - in true Eastenders style....

I've just started watching again after the baby swap boycott. Who the hell is Carl? Who is Kirsty? Why is that horrible Michael still in it?

oinktopus Sat 14-Sep-13 10:55:33

It's a bit ropey and there are some awful stereotypes that Eastenders seem to have invented. Such as bad guys all speak with a gruff whisper and do a lot of smiling when they're being threatening. I can barely look at Lucy. She is weird. I don't like the rent-a-goons either. Joey, Jack, Tyler. They're like a different species (that perhaps once occupied Easter Island) and just bumble around occasionally breaking into "Woss a matter? You want some?" and pushing someone back a step.

There are high points, though. Kim is extremely believable and generally hilarious. The whole pseudo-family with Patrick and Denise works really well. I like Bianca too. She's not a caricature and she can also be really funny. Lola is believable too, as are the remaining three members of the Masoud family. Pessimist Tamwar is so funny in his misery. And Nitin Ganatra is by far the best actor in any British soap. Eastenders is lucky to have him. The Fats/Dot relationship is kind of sweet too.

I love Jean. Sometimes her pain and confusion is heartbreaking (especially during the Stacey era. I miss Stacey) but I wish they hadn't explained her behaviour as bipolar. That's not what bipolar generally looks like. I've got a sneaking love of Michael as well. He's weird, but he's weird in a very watchable way. The delicacy of the acting (or sometimes the lack of acting) is really refreshing.

What Eastenders does well now is what Coronation Street used to be wonderful at (but now fails entirely): the little observations and tribulations of daily life. Not the big stories, so much, but the seemingly insignificant ones. I think there might be a lot of Beale/Truman humour to come.

TrueStory Sun 15-Sep-13 00:14:56

Agree with everything you say Oinktopus <strange>.

I also find Lucy weird, and hard to watch. Kim a joy to watch, a naturelle comedienne. Bianca good too. Michael interesting (that kiss actually seemed quite real <wow>, a rarity on any TV programme let a soap).

But all let down by other factors.

"Ronnie" just seems like another blank, blonde soapstar to me, not convincing.

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Sun 15-Sep-13 00:26:05

I didn't like how Ronnie fell into Jack's arms immediately, how predictable (how like Frankenstein's monster he looks, remembering others mentioning this on the old thread).

" I don't like the rent-a-goons either. Joey, Jack, Tyler. They're like a different species (that perhaps once occupied Easter Island) and just bumble around occasionally breaking into "Woss a matter? You want some?" and pushing someone back a step."

Wonderful! Agree. grin

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Sun 15-Sep-13 00:28:01

I think Joey has overdone the body building a bit. He cannot walk properly, he ambles along, with apparent difficulty, like a great bear.

oinktopus Sun 15-Sep-13 04:01:22

TrueStory Hard to watch. Those were the three little words evading me and what I dearly wanted to say. That's exactly it! Hard to watch.

oinktopus Sun 15-Sep-13 04:16:24

cheerfulweatherforthewedding I love the confused look on their faces when they have to do such incredibly difficult brainwork such as speaking... some... words... and... having... feelings.

BlatantRedhead Mon 16-Sep-13 20:33:14

I know most of you hate EastEnders, even though you're still watching it, but this really made me laugh out loud in tonight's episode:

Random dude Jean's known 5 minutes: "When I've had a few glasses at Christmas I like a crafty fag." To which Kat acidly replied, "And that's very similar to living with a mental health issue."

Might be morbidly amused, since my mum has bipolar and schizo-affective disorder. Still, genuine LOL from me, well done EE writers for once.

oinktopus Mon 16-Sep-13 20:38:39

BlatantRedhead I criticise but I watch it (and like it) despite being from Manchester and having watched Corrie since the age of three (it was like a religion near me). If I made the switch to Eastenders, it must have something good going for it.

Kat's line made me laugh too as did Billy's mobile (that looked like farting in the bath). Although I don't understand why everyone is trying to control Jean's love life for her. Let the poor woman get on with it!

TwllBach Mon 16-Sep-13 20:47:28

I quite liked Abbey's rant about her dad today. Only bit of logical, honest script for a long time. It was quite painful...--because my dad is a twat--

oinktopus Mon 16-Sep-13 20:50:20

TwllBach She's turning into a really good actress and they seem to be allowing her more range. It breaks my heart when her face is trying to be happy but you can see the truth in her eyes. She's getting very good at being cross, too. Little wonder in that family!

TwllBach Mon 16-Sep-13 21:13:00

And her and Jay are unbelievably adorable. I hope they let cheating Jay fade into the background and bring back sweet, kind, loyal Jay.

I think it's quite clever how every time Abbey mentions uni, he looks a little bit sad because he knows she will leave him behind.

oinktopus Tue 17-Sep-13 03:10:36

TwllBach Aww, they really are. I like how he both has a plan to stick with his clever future wife and also how he's slightly resigned to losing her. I've no idea why they inserted cheating Jay in there (seems a bit incongruous) or why Dexter was unpeturbed about it. Either way, she seems like she deserves only good things and I hope they don't test that too much.

YoureBeingADick Tue 17-Sep-13 09:35:29

I have no idea why they put the whole 'taking a car to be sold' story in- nor why sindy is in it.

Fakebook Tue 17-Sep-13 12:50:49

This has been annoying me for weeks now but I absolutely hate the way Abbey is always saying UZZ, instead of US.

"No one cares about UZZ"...."it's UZZ that are left alone"...

I'm catching myself waiting for her to say it in every episode now and cringe when I hear it.

oinktopus Tue 17-Sep-13 19:58:04

BlatantRedhead, she said it again yesterday... <cringe>!!

oinktopus Wed 18-Sep-13 11:56:48

Ujjayi Wed 18-Sep-13 18:56:13

Just jumping in to ask quick question: is Roxy pregnant?

Oh and another one....why was Abbie so upset that Lauren decided to let Kirstie stay?

oinktopus Thu 19-Sep-13 16:01:17

I don't think Roxy is pregnant but I think they talked about it. As for Abbie, I didn't understand it either. She's been un-Abbielike ever since that daft car delivery storyline.

Bakingnovice Thu 19-Sep-13 18:52:18

Can someone tell me if Shirley is dead? Read it on another thread. Is it true? I liked shirl.

Is that Alfie and his super rejuvenating sperm? The Alfie who couldn't possibly be Tommy's father but who Roxy thinks can hit the back of the net without blinking?

I doubt Shirl is dead as they've just announced the signing of her sister and there are publicity photos with the two of them...

oinktopus Thu 19-Sep-13 19:07:56

I'm with Gwendoline on that. In Easties, if they only imply the death (rather than you see it), they're never dead. Even if you see the death (Dirty Den), sometimes they're not dead.

YoureBeingADick Thu 19-Sep-13 19:43:15

Bakingnovice Thu 19-Sep-13 21:33:58

oinktopus Thu 19-Sep-13 21:49:55

Bakingnovice It is a bit Sylvia Young. But then it used to be a Grange Hill finishing school back in the day. There have always been the younger element, learning their trade. I might be biased but they did seem better back then, though.

I prefer the older actors in any soap. That's where the comedy and pathos come from.

Obv Sam knew he was ill and that's why he suddenly appeared in their lives again as needs a kidney and sure amazingly dexter will be a match

Fakebook Fri 20-Sep-13 15:34:06

Blondes, I thought the same thing yesterday! Also, the man Lauren is seeing is obviously working for Carl. Too predictable.

lottieandmia Fri 20-Sep-13 20:16:28

I was wondering if rather than killing Shirley, Carl has just paid her a lot of money to disappear somewhere.

MrsSJG Fri 20-Sep-13 20:22:36

I hate what they have done to Alice but loved seeing Peggy back in it

MrsSJG Fri 20-Sep-13 20:33:11

Awe peggy with her bottle for pat sad sad

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Fri 20-Sep-13 20:44:07

I wonder if Sam will take the kidney then disappear, having achieved his aim.

Why do you think Jake is working for Carl, Fakebook?

What horrible shirts Jake wears, by the way!

YoureBeingADick Fri 20-Sep-13 20:47:32

I thought jake was dodgy from the start but couldnt work out how but carl makes sense. He did tell max it would be when he least expected didnt he? They wouldnt expect someone she met at counseeling to be a danger in the carl sense of things

LynetteScavo Fri 20-Sep-13 20:51:09

Aww Peggy with her bottle of Gin for Pat...those were the days.

Is Shirley actually dead? shock

BlatantRedhead Fri 20-Sep-13 20:52:48

Used to love Peggy and Pat bitching at each other. Their slanging matches were hilarious. Almost welled up, almost.

Fakebook Fri 20-Sep-13 20:58:26

Cheerfulweather, because of all the reasons YoureBeingADick has mentioned grin. Also, didn't he hire someone to pretend to buy loads of cars from Max and then pull out? So he must know a lot of people who can do jobs like this for him.

YoureBeingADick Fri 20-Sep-13 21:24:58

Also agree that i think sam knew he was ill and will disappear once he has his kidney from. Ddexter, possibly leaving dexter ill?

oinktopus Fri 20-Sep-13 21:48:03

Fakebook I think you might be onto something there, although how are they going to explain away how Jake was already well-established at the same counsellor that Lauren chose and how he somehow always manages to get the appointment right before hers? Now you've said it, I think you're right, and they'll just ignore the plot holes. But it's a bit implausible. They're making Carl out to be Derren Brown or something.

Also, a general question: do we think the actor playing Sam is just atrocious or rather excellent for consistently portraying him with some odd mannerisms?

MrsMinkBernardLundy Fri 20-Sep-13 23:46:00

When is ronnie going to brush her hair?she ain't in prison now.

MrsMinkBernardLundy Sat 21-Sep-13 00:02:47

But I actually thought that look suited Alice much better. (and her tan is better than Whitney's)

The transformation is like plain Jane in neighbours. hope she stays like that.

MrsMinkBernardLundy Sat 21-Sep-13 00:03:39

And Tamwar goes more Danny from Grease grin

YoureBeingADick Sat 21-Sep-13 00:10:32

ronnies hair is awful.

i think alice's look was too kat slater (why do they all have a pair of those hoop earrings?) although I really dislike her ordinary librarian look so it was nice to see her looking her age! she cant play drunk though grin

sam is an appallingly dull actor. hateful from the moment he arrived.

MrsMinkBernardLundy Sat 21-Sep-13 00:21:23

I dunno Kat Slater's make up makes her look full on scary. To the point of freakishness. did not like Alice'skirt but the make up actually looked about right/contemporary.

Would be nice to see her and Tamwar being more fun. she makes Dot look loose!

YoureBeingADick Sat 21-Sep-13 00:28:44

yes that's true- kats make-up is very 'scary clown' these days.

Blondeshavemorefun Sat 21-Sep-13 09:41:17

Did wonder if they all share the one pair of big ear rings - but then saw 2 females in same scene and both had huge hoops grin

The fake tans some females have are amazing - esp lexi - she looks towied smile

When I did counselling I went in one door and out another the other side of the room so you wouldn't see the next/last patient and therefore was confidential

oinktopus Sat 21-Sep-13 09:47:42

Lexi's tan is way too much. It doesn't look like she's been on holiday, but rather that she's been witness to a nuclear test.

YoureBeingADick Sat 21-Sep-13 10:10:23

Lola! grin Lexi is the baby.

oinktopus Sat 21-Sep-13 10:18:48

Doh! I'm blaming the hangover for that one! grin It'll be at least lunchtime before I can be relied on to get anything right.

YoureBeingADick Sat 21-Sep-13 10:46:56

grin

tallulah Sat 21-Sep-13 11:11:04

Amy should have started school this term but nobody has mentioned it. When Ronnie asked where she was she was on a play date - on her own?!

Blondeshavemorefun Sat 21-Sep-13 15:56:21

Whoops Lola - and yes a certain little girl should be at school and when she isn't she is at the cm

Wonder if that's the same cm that lexi goes to and who drops off children willy nilly to strangers

LynetteScavo Sun 22-Sep-13 16:57:22

There is something wrong with the DcC in Albert Square. They sleep loads, and I mean loads. They don't take their first step until they are at least two. I could understand if it were just one child, but it's all of them. And they only speak when spoken to. confused

LynetteScavo Sun 22-Sep-13 17:02:04

Apart from Bianca's children, of course, who are all live wires.

Who would guess Tiffany in now in Y6?! Where does the time go?

LineRunner Sun 22-Sep-13 17:13:20

The actress who plays Lucy Beale has only two poses - arms crossed and arms uncrossed.

Her lippy looks like a leaking spleen.

oinktopus Mon 23-Sep-13 10:56:41

LineRunner She reminds me of a moody hatstand. She seems to be permanently fed up with absolutely everyone.

Oooohhh Alice turned into Stacey Slaytar with all that slap on!!

I hate Babs Windsor - thank god she not in it anymore and it was just a flying visit.

oinktopus Mon 23-Sep-13 11:52:28

Madamecastafiore I can't bear her, either. I have no idea why a good friend of mine chose to give me her autobiography.

Also, is Alice some kind of "project"? They seem to be glamming her up bit by bit. Why didn't they stop when they got to pretty? They've gone over the top.

TwllBach Mon 23-Sep-13 21:34:42

I say this sporadically, but I love Michael grin

I would die a thousand happy deaths if he called me 'girlie' grin He's just wonderful.

Fakebook Mon 23-Sep-13 22:16:58

I thought Alice looked like Martinez McCucheon when she was all dressed up.

Oinktopus, I think Jake may be a genuine alcoholic, but has been "bought" by Carl and is being paid to snare Lauren.

This Kidney storyline is so unbelievable... But then so is every other storyline recently.

Fakebook Mon 23-Sep-13 22:17:57

I have no idea why that came out as Martinez. confused. Martine.

oinktopus Tue 24-Sep-13 07:35:32

Fakebook Yeah, I think so too. Especially as they did the thing about "good" Joey being cold-shouldered in favour of an "evil" absent party while watching the video. They do this so often, it's become a bit formulaic.

Shortbutsosweet Tue 24-Sep-13 16:30:02

Twll I also love Micheal but what's going on with him and Alice? Poor old Tanwar.
Sam is a terrible actor, lol I did see him on Lorraine and he is the voice of Wensleydale on Rasta mouse! grin
Story wise, he came back into Ava's life because he needed a transplant, knowing he had a son as a potential match. [hmmm].

Blondeshavemorefun Tue 24-Sep-13 18:04:47

considering a few months ago alice was a virgin and wary/scared/shy of men, shes now a total slut - well is throwing herself and hinting demanding sex from masoods son timwar (sp) grin

TwllBach Tue 24-Sep-13 21:51:55

"Sometimes I want a womans touch but I don't want to touch a woman."

Fucking love him. Unbelievable.

oinktopus Tue 24-Sep-13 22:35:20

Eastenders would be much less without Michael. He steals every scene he's in. The writers seem to know how to use the character for best effect without going too far and ruining it.

1944girl Wed 25-Sep-13 23:23:38

Alice irritates me.Why does she stay on the ''square''?.

Shortbutsosweet Thu 26-Sep-13 07:11:13

Twll that was my Facebook status as soon as he said it!
Did you watch this life? He was great in that too!

PaintedBottom Mon 30-Sep-13 12:54:22

shock I've just read a spoiler in the TV mag.... I'm desperate to share.... It's something that a lot of you, me included would be devastated about and would probably make us stop watching shock

Fakebook Mon 30-Sep-13 12:59:08

Is it about Michael Moon, PaintedBottom?

PaintedBottom Tue 01-Oct-13 00:20:04

Yes, Fakebook wink

wakemeupnow Tue 01-Oct-13 15:42:11

he'll probably get Alice pregnant and then fuck off !

PaintedBottom Tue 01-Oct-13 18:18:51

Ooo you'll have to wait a few weeks to find out... wish I hadn't read the stupid spoiler now...

Vajazzler Tue 01-Oct-13 21:24:14

I saw funeral pics in a paper the other day. Who are they killing off? Then in the sun today Danny Dyer is joining and will be the new Vic landlord and Shirley's brother. Are they killing off Alfie?

PaintedBottom Tue 01-Oct-13 22:40:30

Am I allowed to say? Or is this a spoiler free zone? I can hide it in crossed out writing and put it way down on the bottom of my next message so you have to scroll to read it.... if enough people want me to share? Up to you guys smile

Vajazzler Tue 01-Oct-13 23:34:08

Tell me! I'll still watch anyway!

PaintedBottom Tue 01-Oct-13 23:58:07

Ok! Scroll to the bottom and I'll give you the initials of the character (hopefully will make it harder to read if people don't want to see it).....I don't think there is another character with these initials. They are killing off....

Why???? He's fab!

PaintedBottom Wed 02-Oct-13 10:35:15

I don't know... according to the magazine, it's something to do with Janine or Alice (I didn't read too closely) and it's a murder.... sad

Kaluki Wed 02-Oct-13 11:53:32

Michael cracks me up. I love his one liners and put downs and that 'evil smile'.
Vajazzler - is that true about Danny Dyer? If it is you have just made my day ... I love him!

Vajazzler Wed 02-Oct-13 12:30:01

kaluki yes it is!!

Ooh a murder? Interesting.... Maybe Tamwar does is out if jealousy?

Kaluki Wed 02-Oct-13 12:41:49

Wow...
Not impressed with him having a wife though envy!!!

Vajazzler Wed 02-Oct-13 12:57:29

crikeybill Wed 02-Oct-13 13:04:12

I'm beyond fucked off they are killing Michael off. I am actually a little bit obsessed with him. He is bloody amazing. The little grins, the quirky shrugs and movements he makes, oh and the one liners. I love him.

I think Alice will kill him. She's been written out too according to her twitter.

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 02-Oct-13 16:00:41

What makes Alice such an expert on men?

She's had one shag possibly two from MICHEAL and now hints to poppy that tamwar is a crap in bed

Or is mm so fantastic in the sack grin

Is it me or do Alice, Lauren and Poppy all have the same shade of brown hair?

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 03-Oct-13 19:56:00

Haven't watched this in ages - why is Phil annoyed with Jay and telling him to break up with Abby??

SoleSource Fri 04-Oct-13 13:31:04

I had no idea that Sophie Thompson was Emma Thompson's Sister and that Sophie played Stella Crawford in Eastenders!

Thank Christ for that. I cannot abide that man and have been waiting for him to kick the bucket since he first came into it.

YoureBeingADick Fri 04-Oct-13 20:17:48

Not reading posts about michael. Fingers in ears. LALALALALALA

I love michael- he cracks me up. That exchange with roxy just now was hilarious. "I saw a 3 legged kitten this morning" grin

Dillydollydaydream Sat 05-Oct-13 16:53:56

Ooh. Kellie Bright, was she the girl from the Upper Hand? I used to love that show.

Dh doesn't get why I watch EE as I always read all the spoilers anyway! smile

cheerfulweather Sat 05-Oct-13 19:10:00

I remember Kellie Bright from T-Bag! More recently from The Archers. But I think she was in Upper Hand too.

MissBattleaxe Mon 07-Oct-13 22:20:14

Steve John Shepherd is a superb actor. He plays that twitchy sociopath to perfection. You can see that so much more goes on under the surface than what he actually says. He's brilliant and often hilariously dry.

crikeybill Tue 08-Oct-13 09:26:07

Yes ! I couldn't agree more. It's what he shows is goingon uunder the surface without saying a word that makes him a bloody amazing actor. Oh god im going to weep when he goes !!!!!!

sincitylover Tue 08-Oct-13 14:46:01

I have always like Steve John Shepherd from way back when he was in This Life (anyone remember that series).

He is very clever and gifted actor grin

zower Tue 08-Oct-13 21:19:33

Yes, he was the young barrister's clerk in This Life, played the part really well. I remember the weird thing he had going on with whatshername. Loved that programme ...

MissBattleaxe Tue 08-Oct-13 22:06:00

Yes I remember him as Jo in This Life. Funnily enough, he had a thing with Kira, who will shortly be in Eastenders, but sadly after Michael Moon has left! Such a shame, I'd love them to have had a scene together just for us This Life fans.

CMP69 Thu 10-Oct-13 20:36:48

Oh beginning of the end for MM O suspect. Janine wont take that! angry

MissBattleaxe Thu 10-Oct-13 22:14:14

Janine was toxic and evil tonight. I hope she suffers.

Fakebook Fri 11-Oct-13 09:40:20

Michael moon always reminds me of Henry Kane in Poltergeist part 2. It's the evil smile and the teeth and nose.

Henry Kane pics

Tiredemma Fri 11-Oct-13 09:43:29

I only watch this to see MM.

I am beyond bored shitless of watching the Kidney Donor Kid talk utter shite. What purpose is he in the show?

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Fri 11-Oct-13 09:59:56

MM always looks so cynical and knowing. I think he could join in the discussion about EE here quite well. He will be a loss to the programme.

Also bored of the kidney storyline, but will be waiting and interested to see if guesses about Sam disappearing with said kidney are correct.

Have been wondering who Lauren's mannerisms and jerky way of talking (if that makes sense) remind me of. Captain Jack Sparrow blush

Lucy looks like she's lost weight, either that or it's some poor styling with her wardrobe.

MissBattleaxe Fri 11-Oct-13 11:23:15

Lucy is painfully thin.

Yes the problem with EE is that it is creating a so called major story line around characters who have barely been in it five minutes so the viewer has not yet emotionally invested in them.

At the moment,I like any scene with Ronnie in, or MM, or Cora, but otherwise I start reading magazines. It's a real snorefest right now.

I also think the endings of episodes are really kind of clunky and Crossroads-like. They seem to end an episode almost in the middle of a conversation. No decent duffs duffs for ages.

OliverBoliverButt33 Fri 11-Oct-13 19:57:48

The blokes playing Sam and Dexter cannot act to save their lives - wish they'd both just sod off.

Like Ava though. She could get into some good storylines without these two hanging around.

Michael was scary last night shock

YoureBeingADick Fri 11-Oct-13 20:03:50

Michael was seriously scary last night! Although completely in keeping with his character i thought. He really took the wind from janine's sails didnt he.

Btw- i still dont get what happened with scarlett since janine came back. Why did MM hand scarlett back to J? She was a stranger to S. he was doing a brilliant job with her why did he give in? And also janine seems to have suddenly turned nasty again on MM when she seemed to have settled with the idea of him seeing scarlett now and again. What triggered the change?

MrsTomHardy Fri 11-Oct-13 20:28:14

Just watching EE now for the first time in weeks and wondered who CINDY is, is Ian her dad, and where did she spring up from??
I'm confused shock

YoureBeingADick Fri 11-Oct-13 20:33:45

Some italian man is cindy's dad. She is the original cindy's daughter and was living with her gran in devon.

I bet MM (the character) would be awful in bed. Far too selfish grin

Dillydollydaydream Fri 11-Oct-13 20:51:48

Oh dear. Silly Alice sad

OliverBoliverButt33 Fri 11-Oct-13 22:17:26

Yes. Oh dear, lucky silly Alice wink

Man, he is an expert manipulator, isn't he?

YoureBeingADick Fri 11-Oct-13 23:20:34

I thought he was very obvious this evening though- is alice really that stupid that she didnt know what he was doing? Or do you think she did know but is playing the game of getting what she wants but letting him think he has 'won' by 'tricking' her into it?

SamInSouthWales Sat 12-Oct-13 08:20:21

Cindy stole 10 grand a few months back and apart from Lucy and Peter asking where she got a necklace from, it was never referred to again. I hate it when the writers do that.

SoleSource Mon 14-Oct-13 20:14:13

Carol Jackson is looking more glam each episode.

SoleSource Mon 14-Oct-13 20:29:10

Fick & fin says Flll lol

MissBattleaxe Fri 18-Oct-13 17:17:54

Can I just say that Jack and Ronnie's break up was the crappiest I have ever seen?

Jack- I love you more than anything ever
Ronnie- I don't want kids
Jack- I will pack a tiny bag and leave behind everything I hold dear within the next five minutes. Goodbye.

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Fri 18-Oct-13 19:14:35

I also found it improbable that Jack would leave when his brother and brother's family were in such a sorry situation. What will happen to the car lot? He's just disappeared!

SoleSorceress Fri 18-Oct-13 20:28:57

Totally agree MissBatt and cheerful

rubbish

MissBattleaxe Sat 19-Oct-13 00:55:18

It was just so quick. As if he'd never considered that his wife that was raped by her father, found and lost her teenage daughter on the same day, then suffered a miscarriage, then lost a baby to cot death, then served a prison sentence for stealing a baby...

And Jack is so surprised she doesn't want to try again that he just buggers off immediately?

MissBattleaxe Sat 19-Oct-13 10:27:22

And don't get me started on the lame Miss Teen Vic shambles.

TwllBach Sat 19-Oct-13 15:42:20

"You look fit today, by the way. Just an observation."

I luffs him so very much grin

Fakebook Sat 19-Oct-13 17:31:16

Jack- I will pack a tiny bag and leave behind everything I hold dear within the next five minutes. Goodbye.

And without the piano outro too! I thought he might have deserved a bit of a piano theme seeing as he's been in it for so long.

MissBattleaxe Sat 19-Oct-13 22:38:44

I know! Jean got Julia's Theme and she hasn't been in it half as long.

YoureBeingADick Tue 22-Oct-13 22:14:18

How are Ian and david wickes brothers? confused

BlatantRedhead Tue 22-Oct-13 22:52:40

Why is David Wicks trying so hard to get in Whitney's good books? And why isn't Eva the head teacher any more? I'm certain she was the head when Tanya found her.. And why was Sindy serving behind the bar in the restaurant, isn't she about 14?

YoureBeingADick I think they're step-brothers or something confused

BlatantRedhead Tue 22-Oct-13 22:55:55

Also Ian keeps referring to Sindy as his 'family' but Lucy - who's actually related to her - says she isn't. WTF?

GobbySadcase Tue 22-Oct-13 22:56:05

Half brothers.
Ian's dad Pete was married to David's mum Pat.
It was originally believed Pete was Simon (wicksy) and David's father only it was Pete's brother.

So not even half brothers, really. Step cousins ish.

YoureBeingADick Tue 22-Oct-13 23:28:55

Ah thanks gobby. Its a bit confusing.

Cindy is cindy#1's daughter with some other man but Ian is pretending she is his dd for the purposes of winning the family run business competition. Lucy is saying she is t family, which is true in that she isnt Ians family but is Lucy's half sister.

Blondeshavemorefun Tue 22-Oct-13 23:39:00

Thank god Max's new missus have finally frown her hair out /gone dark

Her roots drove me insane !!!!

Silly jack leaving like that

YoureBeingADick Tue 22-Oct-13 23:50:56

oh her hair was hideous at the start!

MissBattleaxe Wed 23-Oct-13 10:43:35

Why does Whitney dress like a dominatrix at school? and when will Sharon have her eyes opened about Her Little Denny?

Shortbutsosweet Wed 23-Oct-13 11:21:06

lol miss battleaxe!
Ava was head teacher at another school when Tanya found her.
Sharon was very much like Denny when she was younger, Den and Angie treated her like a princess and she never supposedly did anything wrong.
I'm wondering if David is gonna have a fling with Denise?

YoureBeingADick Wed 23-Oct-13 11:23:15

Yes i was wondering about whitneys. Outfits. She is a classroom assistant isnt she? confused

MissBattleaxe Wed 23-Oct-13 16:02:25

Yes she's a classroom assistant but dresses like she's a very expensive "escort".

MissBattleaxe Wed 23-Oct-13 16:03:27

I always thought Ava was Deputy Head when Tanya found her as my bro was one and I remember thinking "Oh, same job!".

Bakingnovice Wed 23-Oct-13 16:14:21

Ava's character was good until dex and smiling giant Sam arrived. I cannot stand Janice at the moment. She's just vile. And I hate all the kids. They're everywhere. And boring. I thought I'd give it a try to see if its any better but it's worse!

And bloody David strutting round the square in his smelly suit and clicky heels. Urghh.

MissBattleaxe Wed 23-Oct-13 16:37:36

Janine is just a total control freak bitch.

What is the point of Cindy v2.0? Will anyone ever find out that she took that ten grand?

I am actually interested in how Whitneygate is going to pan out. I haven't been very interested in EE for a while, just watching out of habit, but I'd quite like to see Sharon eat humble pie.

YoureBeingADick Wed 23-Oct-13 17:58:17

Yes im looking forward to sharons realisation. That should be fun.

Im also enjoying david wickes ruffling a few feathers grin. Didnt like him at first when he was winding masood up and staking some sort of claim on carol. But the Ian goading is funny.

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 25-Oct-13 17:41:57

sharon drives me mad with her fluffing on denny and refuses to think her angel can do no wrong hmm

hope she gets her comeuppance asap

YoureBeingAnAnyFuckerFan Fri 25-Oct-13 20:22:15

ooh that Michael is so creepy! grin

YoureBeingAnAnyFuckerFan Fri 25-Oct-13 20:28:20

oh and btw- did anyone else hear Michael calling tamwar "monkey boy" earlier? shock why did he call him that? please tell me there is a joke I missed and it's not a racist comment.

TwllBach Fri 25-Oct-13 20:47:42

Michael does use an awful lot of monkey related insults. I'm sure he says that Joey is a chimp/monkey...

1944girl Fri 25-Oct-13 20:51:09

Whitney's instant qualifications amaze me.
A few weeks ago she read out a letter which informed her she was now a fully qualified nursery nurse.
Now all of a sudden she is a classroom assistant.

Both without any apparent training, and both in the vicinity of the ''square''.

Kat's usual scowling face is back behind the bar of the Vic

TwllBach Fri 25-Oct-13 21:15:15

Oh Lordy I have just watched tonights episode.

His psycho face is quite terrifying. He is terrifying!

YoureBeingAnAnyFuckerFan Fri 25-Oct-13 23:55:38

oh that's good twl. I didn't think they would be so stupid as to let him be racist (without being challenged)

yes his face is scary when he's on stare out mode.

garlicfucker Sat 26-Oct-13 00:36:29

Just caught up on tonight! That was FANTASTIC!! Michael did a full narcissistic rage grin He went from telling Alice how rare and special she is to be loved by Him, to screaming that she is his acolyte & exists to serve him, to spewing hatred at her, in less than two minutes.

Alice is turning out to be a cool-headed conniving strategic genius smile She could have run rings round her father. Can't wait to see what's next!

If you've not seen it yet, MAKE SURE you're watching right at the very end. No words, one swift action, and it's ace!

TwllBach Sat 26-Oct-13 06:52:02

You could see it coming from Michael though. Obviously we knew anyway that he was a bit... Calculating (understatement of the year) but it was very well done I think, with the "now say yes Michael" and "you can kiss me now" that Alice thought was sweet and quirky to begin with, but was actually a bit of a portent of things to come.

And again, EE proves I have far too much time on my hands.

youarewinning Sat 26-Oct-13 07:13:11

I'm very excited for the Halloween episode - who will be murdered? Both Alice and Michael are reported to be leaving the show so by bet is Janine and the other 2 run off with scarlet!

Blondeshavemorefun Sat 26-Oct-13 07:46:15

Alive is meant to have killed Janine. MICHEAL goes to check and Janine's alive so the fight is then against Janine and Michael

Janine won't die. Never does lol. So think Michael dies and possibly alice as well

Agree about Witney. She was doing play schemes as suddenly a trained nursery nurse - which btw I am and took me 2 years of college and blood sweat and tears

Not what seems a month over summer hols and then is now a teachers assistant /classroom Assistant in the local school

Just LOVE how everyone finds local jobs - no commute at all grin

And why why why did Ava leave her well paid with lots of holiday private headmistress job in a private school to work on a low paid state school!

CalmaLlamaDown Sat 26-Oct-13 08:33:54

Do Alice and Janine team up to kill psycho Michael?

YoureBeingAnAnyFuckerFan Sat 26-Oct-13 12:00:20

michale knows alice didn't drug Janine now though so I think he'll go t o try and do it himself or something but where has alice gone? to warn Janine?

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 01-Nov-13 22:21:46

What an episode !!!!!

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Fri 01-Nov-13 22:32:39

Indeed it was!

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Fri 01-Nov-13 22:37:27

I have a feeling they (Alice and Janine) will manage to escape any charges; connected to the false story about the supposed initial attack on Janine with the knife. Yet doesn't Janine have a chequered past, being involved in (engineering, in fact) the death of her first husband, Barry?

TwllBach Fri 01-Nov-13 22:51:17

Brilliant!!

I foresee Janine blamign it all on Alice and Alice goin daaaaaahn for it. Alice will say she stabbed in because she can't lie and then, when it comes out that he was stabbed twice, Janine will make out that Alice did it twice and just can't remember because of how crazy angry she was with Michael.

RedPencils Fri 01-Nov-13 23:41:00

Ooopo Good episode, I haven't read any spoilers so had no idea that was going to happen. Is he really dead then?

Although, I noticed Janin was holding the knife with a tea towel. I hope they aren't going to make Alice think she killed him and have janine say she didnt do anything. They already did that with Dirty Den and Zoe/his wife who's name I can't remember but is now River In Dr Who.

wakemeupnow Sat 02-Nov-13 08:19:52

Well that was spectacularly overacted and unconvincing.. hopefully Alice will go down for it as She annoys the fuck out of me... will miss Michaels quips though.

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Sat 02-Nov-13 10:57:08

Spectacularly silly storyline.
All I keep thinking is it could have all been avoided, and that Michael had the absolute advantage when he was in possession of the house and Scarlett, he gave them up needlessly then immediately spent all his time and energy in trying to get access to her.

I didn't see Janine hold the knife with tea towel! Agree it's recycling of the Zoe storyline.

RedPencils Sat 02-Nov-13 17:12:23

I was getting really bored with the storyline so I'm glad there's quite a dramatic conclusion.
Although agree that Michael leaving the house and Scarlett and taking absolutely no legal advice about contact, ridiculous. Surely you would go and see a solicitor at least once before trying to kill the mother of your child.

BlatantRedhead Sun 03-Nov-13 13:37:39

So Janine is going to get away with murder - again. What a change of pace for eastenders.. lol

TwllBach Sun 03-Nov-13 13:52:50

Surely you would go and see a solicitor at least once before trying to kill the mother of your child.

He did though, and the solicitor basically said he had no chance.

qazxc Sun 03-Nov-13 14:48:13

Joey "i'm going clubbing.
Michael -Seals?"
I loved his quips and the fact that they clearly seem to go over the others heads?

TwllBach Sun 03-Nov-13 14:59:17

YES! I meant to come on and mention the seals thing grin he was too good for Stenders, too good...

Blondeshavemorefun Sun 03-Nov-13 20:53:53

Micheal manages to play a total pyscho and will be missed

Not sure why took so long for police to arrive and then dopey policeman to knock on the door

Lola is going more orange

Why was tommy up after 8pm and eating sweets - should be in bed asleep grin

Did think the acting was a tad wooden and Alice totally changed sides

Wonder why she told Janine - was it as she isn't a killer and worked out that MICHEAL was using her?

What's happening about the £10k that Cindy stole?

Kaluki Mon 04-Nov-13 16:06:02

I'll be glad to see the back of Alice and her strange jaw and whiny voice!
I'll miss MM though - I loved his put downs and one liners!
Counting down the days till Christmas when the lovely Danny Dyer arrives. EE needs sine fresh blood - its getting dull with the same old characters

1944girl Mon 04-Nov-13 23:32:05

I will not be sad to see the back of Alice either. It's the stupid grin and little girl voice.
I'll miss Micheal though.

WhatDoesTheDogSay Tue 05-Nov-13 07:20:56

I know this is irrelevant, but why did the actor who plays Alice have veneers done? They look ridiculous! Huge, square and white, and make it look like her teeth stick out confused.

Bakingnovice Tue 05-Nov-13 07:24:39

Loved it when mm said 'do I look like I eat chips?' And 'sports wear is worn by fat people. Who hate sport'. He was brilliant.

Yes Alice's teeth are far to big for her mouth. Poor girl.

Fakebook Tue 05-Nov-13 08:51:20

I think this whole storyline is crap. Michael wouldn't be that stupid to get killed off.

I also loved that comment about sports wear grin. He seemed to be the only well written character in the programme.

Now I'm waiting for the next Moon addition. They're all a bit dark aren't they? They also seem to come in pairs of male brothers. I remember the two earlier brothers from years ago, one of them killed the other.

YoureBeingASillyBilly Tue 05-Nov-13 09:19:19

Yes i'll really miss michael too- why couldnt they have had alice kill janine instead? No-one would have missed either of them.

angelos02 Tue 05-Nov-13 12:06:36

Why did the policeman say 'Is everything alright?' when Alice answered the door. They must have heard all the commotion going on!

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Tue 05-Nov-13 12:51:34

I'm not affronted or anything..but Janine can't really get away with it can she. E.g. she cut herself, wouldn't they check the way the cut and been made and the angle (or whatever they do)? And version of events not matching up. Alice's would make more sense from forensic point of view? And Janine, who might appear respectable now, has dreadful past on paper. Ex prostitute, questioned over husband Barry's death... Though it is the EE police after all.

I think Alice had her teeth done at one point (mentioned in first, now full, thread) we thought the teeth were rather too big for her mouth.

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Tue 05-Nov-13 12:53:17

Also interestedly waiting to see if Sam does a runner with his newly acquired kidney, as predicted up thread!

bleedingheart Tue 05-Nov-13 13:02:13

Will Janine never get her comeuppance? She could have backed up Alice to a certain degree rather than an out and out lie. No wonder she couldn't look at Scarlett.

I SO think Sam came back for the kidney and will pop off now he's got it. I'm sure there was a real life story where a long lost dad got in touch for the same reason and then disappeared again, new kidney in place.

I thought Michael might commit suicide as he said he thought he would 'end up like his mum' or some such. Realise how much not having his mother had damaged him and felt he couldn't kill Janine after all. I would rather he had just left. His story is pretty sad and perpetuates what appears to be the Eastenders theory that if you have an unhappy childhood or childhood trauma-you are doomed for life!

YoureBeingASillyBilly Tue 05-Nov-13 13:12:30

I think Janine got alice to cut her. didn't alice have her blood on her hands and top? I wonder if that will be the clue the police need to see Janine is lying? michael binned the top but Janine has said Michael cut her so why would her blood be on alice's top?

Fakebook Tue 05-Nov-13 13:25:40

A picture and caption has come up of Sam on my Facebook feed today. It would seem the prediction is correct!

Also re: Janine, didn't she stab herself when she had that fight with Stacey? That's why Stacey left. It seems she has had loads of people stabbing her about, surely the police would find this a bit strange?

Shropshiremummy2B Tue 05-Nov-13 13:25:47

I REALLY hope Sam does do a runner with Dexters kidney, I have had it with his jaw/nostril flare combination.

Bakingnovice Tue 05-Nov-13 15:08:50

Oh yes, please run away Sam. Very very fast and very far.

Perhaps you could take cindy, Ian, dex, roxy, Amy, Alfie, Danny, etc with you.

Why did they repeat the money stolen story again? First cindy steals and gets away with it and then someone steals the church money at football. I'm going to have to stop watching again. Cindy and Danny are too unlikeable.

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Tue 05-Nov-13 15:39:42

Didn't somebody mention Joey leaving? I'm hoping not, though I've decided he really isn't a great actor in EE, but would like to see him in period drama or something different <fans self>
Perhaps he turns sleuth (unlikely) and is despatched by Janine!

YoureBeingASillyBilly Tue 05-Nov-13 17:07:54

joey is a terrible actor! although I do like seeing him strutting around in his 2 sizes too small t-shirts grin

TwllBach Tue 05-Nov-13 18:11:06

Baking I think Cindy stole the church money too... remember she made such a fuss about wanting to go and Danny wouldn't let her? I reckon she went anyway and stole it.

Bakingnovice Tue 05-Nov-13 20:57:01

Why? Why the hell do script writers do this. They bring in new characters who are intensely dislikeable, loathsome in fact. Like cindy. Like Carl. Like Derek. Like Sam. Then they wonder why people have switched off and ratings are down.

Cindy isn't even related to Ian ffs.
Why should I care if Sam or dexter live or die?

RedPencils Tue 05-Nov-13 22:57:40

I thought that billy took the money so that he could 'find' it later and be the hero.

Kaluki Wed 06-Nov-13 10:44:02

See I don't get why Janine didn't just go with Alice's story about her stabbing Michael because he was attacking Janine. All she had to lie about was the number of stabs. As it is she has told such a whopper it is bound to come out in the end as she has previous for a husband dying in dodgy circumstances (Barry) and the prostitution, etc where Alice is squeaky clean so far.

bleedingheart Wed 06-Nov-13 11:05:21

Billy hid the money in order to show Danny up.

Janine would be torn apart by a good lawyer but we rarely see the trials.
I didn't think she'd be allowed to visit Alice.

Alfie/Kat storyline SO dull. She's selfless and 'together' all of a sudden and he's more oafish than ever. Boring.
Also-Sharon? What is the point of her being in it now? What happened to her addiction?

Shropshiremummy2B Wed 06-Nov-13 11:59:23

Don't get me started on Sharon and Denny. The only thing that intregues me about those two is where they buy their conditioner.

I already miss Micheal and his teeeeeeny weeeeny button down collars.

wakemeupnow Wed 06-Nov-13 16:11:09

Has Kat had botox ? she seems to have lost the ability to move her face !

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 06-Nov-13 21:27:03

Silly storyline and no doubt Janine will walk free - yet again hmm

Too many money stealing stories

Not sure how Sharon got off her addiction for pills

Kat/Alfie/roxy is boring

What's the Xmas day plot? Any more deaths?

RedPencils Wed 06-Nov-13 21:57:24

I find Sharon the Pfb-zilla hysterical, I'm not sure that's what the writers are going for though. They have ruined her with Denny. I liked her when she first came back.

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Wed 06-Nov-13 22:15:33

Kat and Alfie will get back together... very dull and predictable. Alfie is beyond awful. I think he's supposed to be endearing but in reality quite the opposite

Yes agree! Janine's story would be torn apart by good lawyer/police, it's so infuriating. Also hmm at Janine being allowed to visit Alice. Janine isn't due to leave EE is she? So will get away with it, if so.

TwllBach Thu 07-Nov-13 21:11:06

Who the actual fuck is Tel? and what is Bianca doing??

SinisterBuggyMonth Thu 07-Nov-13 22:37:13

Tel is what would happen if Grant Mitchell had shagged Minty and had a baby. His kids are beyond irritating.

YoureBeingASillyBilly Thu 07-Nov-13 23:05:08

'tel' is a stand up comedian in RL. ive seen him on a few different shows.

Fakebook Thu 07-Nov-13 23:46:13

Another unbelievable episode. Women apparently don't know where the fuse box is in a house confused...fake fireworks...Bianca moving a strange man into her house after all that trouble with Tony hmm... And his children are like cartoon twins of Liam and Tiffany. It was like an episode of The Simpsons where they meet long lost cousins and they all have a similar looking relative. Bizarre.

YoureBeingASillyBilly Thu 07-Nov-13 23:50:34

and is Bianca intending to build a multi-storey extension to accommodate all these people?

carol
david
Bianca
tel
whitney
Tiff
rosie
liam
morgan
mini tel

have I missed anyone? that's 10 people in a what 3 bedroom house?

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 08-Nov-13 00:07:10

They made the dining room into a bed room - pat used to sleep there but yes it's a tardis

Silly really

Same as in brannings house. That's 3 bedroom but later on girls had a room to their self as did oscar as did Tanya and max

So Bianca falls in love within 2 months and uproots his kids - she might get preg again - co we know she's fertile !!

YoureBeingASillyBilly Fri 08-Nov-13 00:12:31

well at least Janine's gone back home so they can have the sofa back for someone (david?) to sleep on.

Carol did say where are they going to sleep? The only time in soapland that anyone has vocalised what we've all thought!
I agree about the similarities of the children and also wondered why a family can never arrive in a soap quietly and with no fuss or shouting.

TwllBach Fri 08-Nov-13 07:02:35

There's a dining room in biancas house? Where?? Under the stairs?

wakemeupnow Fri 08-Nov-13 07:30:21

Tel is what would happen if Grant Mitchell had shagged Minty and had a baby grin

Fakebook Fri 08-Nov-13 08:30:34

I think the dining room must be a second reception room like in Dot's and Ian's homes, that appeared out of no where grin.

Also, did anyone find it annoying how when Joey came back from clubbing or wherever no one would tell him what had happened? I mean how many times did he have to ask? If that was me I would have been screaming at the end! They did it to Bianca too!

Dillydollydaydream Fri 08-Nov-13 17:12:04

I laughed when carol asked where they're all going to sleep.
I'd love a deceptively spacious house like that one!

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 08-Nov-13 17:19:56

some of ee houses have a long living/dining room like brannings/janines/masoods and now ians (after knocking down wall)

others are small living room and dining room behind, next to kitchen - ie slaters, biancas, pats and once ians

can you tell i spend too much time thinking/watching ee grin

YoureBeingASillyBilly Fri 08-Nov-13 17:19:59

yes fakebook! they all wouldn't answer him when he kept asking about alice! I thought that was really cruel. obviously his mind will think the worst case scenario. I didn't get the point of it though because the idea of suspense/mystery is to keep the audience in suspense. you don't tell the audience what happens and then keep the characters in suspense. it's silly! that scene would have had a point if we didn't already know who was dead.

campervan I must have missed that bit. where did carol say they were all sleeping? (I need to know grin)

wakemeupnow Fri 08-Nov-13 19:12:18

Tel (aka MintyMitchell) will no doubt have an ex wife who will soon appear on the scene and will probably move into the equally overcrowded Kims Palace

BringBackBod Fri 08-Nov-13 19:16:44

Yes, I can tell Blonde grin

YoureBeingASillyBilly Fri 08-Nov-13 19:51:05

'minty mitchell'

grin grin grin

Thisvehicleisreversing Fri 08-Nov-13 20:31:22

Couldn't they find anyone better to play the part of Tel? His acting is atrocious.

The EE casting peeps need to find somewhere better to find their actors, just this year alone we've had to put up with Dexter's mum, Dexter's dad, gravelly voice bloke and now this bloody Tel. It's putting me right off I tell you.

YoureBeingASillyBilly Fri 08-Nov-13 20:42:56

me too.

did he say his name was terry spraggan? like lucy spraggan?

GW297 Fri 08-Nov-13 20:47:07

I thought exactly that YoureASillyBilly!

alemci Fri 08-Nov-13 22:07:39

also aren't there bathroom issues with so many people in one house such as carol's.

Charlie Slater's bedroom was the dining room in the Slater house so I've always assumed that everyone in EE does that grin

RedPencils Fri 08-Nov-13 22:10:47

I hate Tel already. Why's he wandering around bring everyone's best mate? We had a bloke move in to our street last Christmas and I think I've only said hello once.

I'm very confused about Carl? Why is he blackmailing Ian?

YoureBeingASillyBilly Fri 08-Nov-13 22:11:10

ooh good point alemci

10 people in the house, none of them can share baths so i'd say half an hour each per day to get washed, teeth, toilet etc. that's 5 hours a day for everyone to get washed. i imagine they'd have to have a rota as they only have one bathroom. I only have one too and even with just 3 of us there are call of nature clashes grin usually after dinner.

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 08-Nov-13 22:11:31

excaltly glw - all the small living roomed houses have another dining/bedroom

but one toilet and bathroom

also ages ago someone said why doesnt bianca claim benifits

i assume as so many people live with her that she cant grin

YoureBeingASillyBilly Fri 08-Nov-13 22:12:26

because he wants max branning out of the picture so he can have kirsty back all to himself.

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 08-Nov-13 22:13:13

carl is bm ian as ian stole the money from the tin that was for derick, and carl came looking for it

so he is bm ian, and hence why he said for ian to say that max yampered with phils brakes even tho he didnt

or something like that smile

SoupDragon Fri 08-Nov-13 22:13:54

Ian found a cash box with money it when setting up the restaurant. The box belonged to Derek but the money was Carl's.

wakemeupnow Fri 08-Nov-13 22:16:39

I think Kirsty is gonna rob Carl and give the money to Max's girlz..

RedPencils Fri 08-Nov-13 22:21:58

Even more confused. Derek died before Carl arrived so how did Derek come to have his money?
Why didn't Ian just tell him to nob off? Carl's hardly going to go to the police.

YoureBeingASillyBilly Fri 08-Nov-13 22:28:24

oh yeah! forgot about the money box!

Bakingnovice Fri 08-Nov-13 22:32:14

Red I asked this on the last thread. Why would Ian believe Carl when he said the money was his? It's a plot line hanging from the finest thread. Totally unbelievable. In fact EE has become almost Shakespearean in terms of how much it expects viewers to suspend disbelief.

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 08-Nov-13 22:40:22

baking

to believe or not to believe

that is the question grin

SoupDragon Fri 08-Nov-13 22:52:12

I thought Derek was looking after the money whilst Carl was in prison.

RedPencils Fri 08-Nov-13 22:55:42

But how did Carl know Derek? Carl wasn't in it when Derek was. confused

Kaluki Fri 08-Nov-13 22:58:50

Derek and Carl were in prison together and Derek was 'looking after' the money for Carl.
Apparently hmm

RedPencils Fri 08-Nov-13 23:03:34

Ah, I didn't know that, that'll teach me to skip through the boring bits. Makes a bit more sense now.

Fakebook Fri 08-Nov-13 23:42:30

I hate Tel already. Why's he wandering around bring everyone's best mate?

Yes, it's weird! He hasn't moved from Outer Mongolia, he's a black cab driver from London...doesn't he have friends in the other London borough he lived in previously? How come Walford is so small? confused.

Dillydollydaydream Sat 09-Nov-13 08:57:11

Does anyone know what Jakes story is? Is he a friend of Carl's to get at Max via Lauren or something completely different?

Dillydollydaydream Sat 09-Nov-13 08:58:55

Does anyone know what Jakes story is? Is he a friend of Carl's to get at Max via Lauren or something completely different?

alemci Sat 09-Nov-13 09:34:38

Perhaps they have an outside loo in the yard or use old fashioned chamber pots. As someone commented earlier about it becoming Shakespearian, perhaps they have a prithee on the landing.smile

could you imagine in the morning when everyone needs the loo or someone is having a bath etc and you are desperate. Perhaps they all use the caf or the Queen Vic.

RedPencils Sat 09-Nov-13 10:30:12

Is Jake the alcoholic friend of Lauren's? Not sure what his story is. But as yet aren't shoving him down our throats I'm guessing he's not here to stay, so probably a wrong'un. Plus he's a northerner and they never do well on EE.

Dillydollydaydream Sat 09-Nov-13 11:49:31

Yes Jake is the rather fit bloke Lauren met at counselling.
Just wondered if he was planted there by Carl, seems rather coincidental.

Bakingnovice Sat 09-Nov-13 15:59:24

So angry that janine gets away with it again. It's a repeat of the Barry storyline. She's a grotesque character and I'm
Sick of EE repeating story lines.

Dillydollydaydream Sat 09-Nov-13 16:20:19

Ah does she definitely get away with it then?
If this murder was on CSI they'd be able to tell there were different people involved in stabbing because one of them would be left-handed or some such evidence!

RedPencils Sat 09-Nov-13 21:04:20

Janine even did the fake stabbing herself thing with Stacey and the fit bloke she was married to (can't remember his name).

Dillydollydaydream Sat 09-Nov-13 21:25:14

Ryan!! Mmm

YoureBeingASillyBilly Mon 11-Nov-13 21:24:55

What colour are david wickes' eyes?

qazxc Mon 11-Nov-13 21:40:20

My mind is still boggling at the amount of bedrooms in Bianca's house.
David in pat's old room
Carol
Bianca and Terry
Whitney and tiff
Liam
I know that there prob is one downstairs but 4 upstairs, that can't be right surely.

Lucyadams184 Tue 12-Nov-13 13:44:24

I was thinking that about Bianca's house, maybe somebody sleeps in the bath???? I'm not surprised that Carol has moved in with Masod.

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 13-Nov-13 03:48:38

Least they mentioned it at long last with Whitney complaining !!

Finally max is free via phil an kidnapping Ian

Did we see Ian get bundled into a van?

Dexters dad is a smarmy git and I don't like him !!!

Did we actually see male twin of Ian's get hit? If so why is he protecting Carl - or coz of his dad

Still swooning over David wicks grin

YoureBeingASillyBilly Wed 13-Nov-13 09:43:54

Also swooning over DW! grin I dont really remember when he used to be in it before. Was he a baddy or just a heartbreaker?

Also, i saw sam's evil grin last night just Before the end, do we know what he us up to yet or was that the first sign that he was up to something?

wakemeupnow Wed 13-Nov-13 10:37:10

Sam will hopefully fuck off now he's got his kidney.

Fakebook Wed 13-Nov-13 12:22:05

So where in England do we have this barren desert land which is completely empty with no other cars or people around? confused. A little bit too GTA for my liking!

YoureBeingASillyBilly Wed 13-Nov-13 12:24:46

it reminded me of one of those gangster films fakebook. It looked like a quarry or something?

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 13-Nov-13 14:07:46

DW was always jack the lad but cute. Loved him in casualty

Waste land can't be in London - tho obv local enough for max to jump into can with phil

mrsWast Wed 13-Nov-13 14:23:13

i think the wasteland is between Furrock services and getting back on the M25 towards chelmo. <shameless Essex>

ian's surely overdue for a bogwash by now.

YoureBeingASillyBilly Wed 13-Nov-13 14:29:47

Slight tangent but being from NI (loads of green space and wasteland) i find it very funny that you are actually able to pin point where a bit of wasteland must be in london as there is so little. I visited my cousin in blackburn a few years ago and after 3 days i begged him to take me somewhere i could see some green as everywhere we went was just roads as buildings. He drove me up into some big hill where we could see trees and a field in the distance grin

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 15-Nov-13 16:56:46

phil and max yelling for help really made me pmsl

MissBattleaxe Sun 17-Nov-13 09:58:29

What I couldn't understand about the Janine/Michael murder was that the police kept Alice in but let Janine go just because Janine said she didn't do it. Apparently it's really that simple to get away with murder if you lie to the police and say you didn't do it.

Also can we PLEASE talk about Carl running? It was hilarious. Me and DH burst out laughing at the scary gangster running like a small girl who doesn't want to come last on Sports Day.

MissWimpyDimple Sun 17-Nov-13 10:22:39

Hahahaha. I thought the same about Carls running. He runs like my 6yo DD. VERY amusing.

I can't stand the Dexter family, I don't mind Ava, though I'm struggling to work out her career path, but Dexter is a joke. He talks so fast in faux-gangstaaaa that it's impossible to follow and as for his daddy. Jeez. Just sod off will ya?

YoureBeingASillyBilly Sun 17-Nov-13 12:36:10

Oh yes! Forgot to post at the time. His running was hilarious. Ian didnt look much better but it still wasnt as funny as carls. I bet he was dreading that bit coming up because he knew how crap he looks when he runs grin

YoureBeingASillyBilly Sun 17-Nov-13 12:37:07

And that but where dexter was whingeing about needing real soap and not body wash was just ridiculous.

alemci Sun 17-Nov-13 14:05:40

yes in teaching you can't just take a day off in term time, please get real writers. She doesn't seem to be snowed under with planning or marking etc.

Yes Dexter buy your own soap, how old are you?

Blondeshavemorefun Sun 17-Nov-13 19:10:16

i still want to know why ava left her posh private school - where we met her via tanya stalking her

and now works in the local state walford primary school hmm

MissBattleaxe Sun 17-Nov-13 22:53:33

When DH saw Carl running he said "I wish Harry Hill was still on"

MissBattleaxe Wed 20-Nov-13 09:46:51

I just want to say that if Janine gets away with it I will stop watching.

And I! Much of EE is not realistic, but that would just be absolutely ludicrous, we can only suspend disbelief so far after all.

I spose max will have to beat up Jake now .. oh and probably shag Jake"s wife too just to really mess with Lauren's head.

Joey is definitely playing Janine.. tho he seems a bit thick so maybe not confused

I've just tuned back in after almost a year away (we stopped watching after the whole Tanya and Max wedding day/Kirsty reveal bollocks last Christmas) and I am quite lost about a lot of the characters. I'm really only persisting for David Wicks who has got very dishy with age. Dingdong! grin

Oh yes and meant to add- pretty sure that waste land was round Thurrock/Lakeside/M25 by IKEA way being as I'm an Essex gel born and bred gringringrin

cheerfulweatherforthewedding Wed 20-Nov-13 17:39:33

hmm at the idea of Joey playing Janine, but he is isn't he! What's his plan? Hope that she talks in her sleep? Because she's certainly not likely to confess all to him!

Jake doesn't know where Lauren lives? Guessing not because that would be really stupid.

"I spose max will have to beat up Jake now .. oh and probably shag Jake"s wife too just to really mess with Lauren's head."

don't you just know it. grin

yes lauren mentioned being from albert Sq yesterday and jake came over all "I need to fart but think I might follow through" worried expression grin

2 people attend micheals funeral - out of the whole square

Who paid for it? Funerals aren't cheap ESP church services.

Amazing how new family members just appear - never rem Shirley having a sister

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 20-Nov-13 19:40:03

Whoops posted too quick

Thought jack brannings was a good friend of micheals - he missed the funeral

YoureBeingASillyBilly Wed 20-Nov-13 19:43:39

were Janine and Michael divorced? or would she have been liable for funeral expenses?

AmandinePoulain Wed 20-Nov-13 19:46:51

Blondes do you remember Zsa Zsa, Shirley's niece from a few years ago? (She had BIG hair grin). That's her Mum.

MissBattleaxe Wed 20-Nov-13 19:55:55

The so called Sadie/Jake reveal was done a few years back when Dawn was seeing Rob and confided in Dr May about her secret boyfriend, only for Dr May to be married to Rob.

It was so predictable about Sadie and Jake.

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 20-Nov-13 20:22:33

Don't rem the big haired neice grin

And I didn't see the jake storyline blonde here so why did he charm Lauren - was it to get back at max via Carl?

And semi spoiler alert

Dexter came back for Ava just so he could get dexters kidney

Tho we kinda guessed that - it's been confirmed !!!

YoureBeingASillyBilly Wed 20-Nov-13 20:54:46

yep i saw the epidose where sam put his passport in his pocket and emptied his pill box in an attempt to leave but then (frustratingly) changed his mind. he still will leave though. you can just tell.

they still haven't revealed any connection between carl and jake but that's the only theory I have come up with so far.

MissBattleaxe Thu 21-Nov-13 09:28:28

I don't think there's a connection between Jake and Carl, I think Jake's character is just there for the love triangle.

Blondeshavemorefun Thu 21-Nov-13 10:46:16

Another love triangle. As someone said earlier was done with the doctor and dawn

Surely jake must be a bit thick he must know Lauren lives in the square?

Is he not worried Lauren will tell Sadie?

Whose house has she brought?

Fakebook Thu 21-Nov-13 20:45:47

grin...what a stupid episode today! I burst out laughing at sadie and jake's bad over acting scene:

"WE KILLED A CHILD"!!!...hmm confused

Then the way Kirsty was cowering in the dark doorway and stepped back when max told her he could handle it. grin.

Did ZsaZsa have long black and bright blue hair? And was a complete pain in the bum?
