Why on earth would the makers of the Harvester advert think it would improve it by adding in another dreadful child ?

Same as Ikea and creepy dolls and Muller yogurts getting Nicole Shitsinger to use the world Mullerlicious

Because they are obviously high

Futterby Tue 23-Jul-13 00:16:53

I have to mute the Go Compare advert. They've gone from annoying, to shit, to annoying and shit.

I also have to mute that advert about shoes (can't remember specifically what it's for) where it's the two women looking at the computer screen saying shit like "do it again girl!" and "oh no they didn't!" It actually makes me so, so stabby.

Futterby Tue 23-Jul-13 00:18:11

Oh, and the Perle de Lait (or whatever it's called) where the girl eats some yogurt and it straightens her hair. Fucking magic yogurt.

I watch far too much telly.

2Retts Tue 23-Jul-13 00:22:00

I hate ALL EHarmony adverts! The body language is so over the top and doesn't fit with what the (obvious) actor is saying. Oh and the Sky Go adverts...'so, me and me mate were fishing...'

The new Go Compare ads actually make me smile...guilty pleasure.

Futterby Tue 23-Jul-13 00:23:23

It's specifically the bit where the guy on the keyboard goes "just got chills" that makes me want to throw something large and heavy at the screen.

The tena lady ones make me beyond angry. And the cuprinol one were the shed was a baby. Makes me scared annoyed

1944girl Tue 23-Jul-13 00:25:37

The whispering girl in Secret Escapes freaks me out

bootsycollins Tue 23-Jul-13 00:27:01

What the fuck is Al Pacino doing on a Sky advert, it's not like he needs the money ffs. I'm angry and disappointed.

Floralnomad Tue 23-Jul-13 00:28:59

The worst Sky ad was the one with Ruth Jones and Robert Lindsey !

Futterby Tue 23-Jul-13 00:35:36

God yes, the secret escapes advert.

YellowJug Tue 23-Jul-13 00:36:57

Not TV, radio, but

DRIVE LIKE A GIRL!!

2Retts Tue 23-Jul-13 01:23:21

Now that made me laugh Futterby...step away from the large and heavy objects!

I think the general concensus is that Sky definitely need a new agency.

The WORST advert I've ever seen has to go to the new meerkat one where Robert Webb and Meerkat are playing the piano and singing that god awful song and it goes on forever! I turn the tv over when that comes on it makes me v stabby.

ppeatfruit Wed 24-Jul-13 10:35:48

Oh those Tena lady ones FFS"i'm wearing such a nice old fashioned dress I can't pull it up and sit on the bog I'll just piss meself!!!!!!"

Blimey I mute most of the ads but there's one that makes me want to ring the ASA and stab the TV ; it's the effing nutella one that just 'misses out' the largest ingredient of all SUGAR!!!!! and they try to pretend it's healthy!!!!!!shock

xigris Wed 24-Jul-13 10:41:47

Don't forget bloody Kate in the bloody nice and easy Clairol hair dye advert. It's the teeth itchingly smug one with the 'husband' twatting on about how after a house move, two newborns (WTF) Kate still looks "well, like Kate!" Hoo-bloody-rah. There have been threads purely dedicated to this advert iirc. grin

xigris Wed 24-Jul-13 10:43:32

Oh and the Galaxy adverts where the girl finds her hidden chocolate in a box under her bed. She looks like some sort of weird girl / moth hybrid

ppeatfruit Wed 24-Jul-13 11:28:26

All those new car ones where there's not another car on the road (they've been doing that for so long you'd think they might realise that a new car doesn't REMOVE all the other cars from the roads ;it's ANOTHER effing car FGS!!!!!!)

ppeatfruit Wed 24-Jul-13 20:40:55

OMG I just saw one of the many gambling (bingo) adverts shock shock what TF does Barbara Windsor think she's doing?????? They are vile and what they represent is worse (vom) emoticom.

Sparklingbrook Wed 24-Jul-13 20:43:23

Fiona thingy and her postcode lottery. confused

The Santander ones with Jensen Button.

officelady Wed 24-Jul-13 20:51:44

Totally the wrong thread for this comment but not worth starting a new one ... in my house we REJOICE at the slightly subversive adverts that seem all nicey nicey but does anyone actually LISTEN to them properly ...
We've had "half price ladyboy sofas" at DFS
"Monkey Street" at Morrisons
and our current fave, the Boots advert - "half price holiday bollocks"
I swear to god. Listen. They are laughing in our faces, people!!!

FunnyLittleFrog Wed 24-Jul-13 20:55:03

MY NAME'S BARRY SCOTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WetAugust Wed 24-Jul-13 21:18:30

The Ask Victor one with the man in drag

The hair dye one with the Big Brother presenter who I think is too old and doesn't have sufficiently high forehead for a fringe

The Jessica Ennis and other Olympic/sports people giving you another 1% if someone gets lucky at golf.

glamourousgranny42 Wed 24-Jul-13 22:01:19

Yy perle de lait- she obviously uses it as hair conditioner

Hate the new meerkat one with alec armstrong

All car adverts

Chair worthy hair! Wtf!

The wierd people in the Lloyds advert. Beaky uuugh

ppeatfruit Thu 25-Jul-13 06:05:47

glamourous it might have some value as hair conditioner!!

kasterborous Thu 25-Jul-13 17:27:38

SP grin at Shitsinger! I hate that advert too, and I bet she never eats those yogurts.

I know! When I see it I shout at the TV 'dont lie Shitty, we know you don't miller-fucking-licious.

lovelychops Thu 25-Jul-13 18:21:27

I mute the new go compare one. Can not stand that kid in the harvester one either, I must that too!

My hair did not look the same colour as Clairol Kate when I dyed it 'her' colour, most annoying!

sophiedaal Thu 25-Jul-13 21:02:32

The Wonga ones make me feel actually angry in several different ways - just that hideously cynical use of 'cuddly old people' to cover up their extortionate loan rates, and Nicholas Parsons (is it?), how much did they pay you?

I quite like the Santander ones with Jenson Button, Jessica Ennis and Rory whatsit - they're like the most awkward housesharers EVAH. Or the nightmare lodger who creeps up on you while you're doing a spot of still life painting and tells you to move your mortgage...

ppeatfruit Fri 26-Jul-13 08:46:22

Also that airbrushed one of Cheryl Cole with ten tons of slap on and or the worst computer airbrushing in history. She looks like a doll with jam on her lips LOVELY !

wriggletto Fri 26-Jul-13 08:56:26

Also, any yoghurt ad which tries to persuade you that yoghurt is a yummy delicious treat for the girls, when it's yoghurt.

The car one where the baby starts crying every time they stop at traffic lights because the car engine automatically turns off (or something like that). Um, that's actually majorly off-putting if you've got a baby!

ppeatfruit Fri 26-Jul-13 09:05:48

The only ones I like ATM. and it's only the music I actually enjoy, are the ones using old songs from old movies like America from West Side Story. IMO it awakes the yoof to good music grin.

ppeatfruit Fri 26-Jul-13 09:06:40

Old trout emoticom!!!!

acjfluff Fri 26-Jul-13 09:11:04

The Victoria Plumb one with those awful twins with the twee voices. Ick. It really makes me cringe.

SucksToBeMe Fri 26-Jul-13 09:34:22

The freaky Ikea one, with life size dolls.
The meercat one with the singing, I hate the reference to him being ginger.

Sidge Fri 26-Jul-13 09:46:00

That yoghurt one (Amore?) where she slurps yoghurt and virtually has an orgasm.

It's yoghurt love, it looks like synthetic shite and is unlikely to make you come.

wriggletto Fri 26-Jul-13 09:51:03

sidge quite. 'Yoghurt', for me, has two instant mental associations only: the 70s Ski yoghurt pot, which was an interesting shape to a small child, and thrush. Pretending that badly dubbed Stepford Wives regard it as a naughty after-lunch treat is on a par with the Ambassador of Unspecificania serving cheap foil-wrapped chocs in a big superglued pyramid at drinks functions.

ppeatfruit Fri 26-Jul-13 10:28:45

Agree completely about the yoghurt orgasm FGS!!!!! Sidge and wriggletto The agencies are just about the bleedin' pits.

ppeatfruit Fri 26-Jul-13 10:31:21

Those agency blokes should get off the porn sites ;idiots!!!!

FunnyLittleFrog Fri 26-Jul-13 12:29:50

Lelli Kelli

<barfs pink unicorn glitter>

The Open and Direct one in artsy black and white where a platypus goes into a bar.

I've been to Australia. I remember being SHOCKED at the size of a platypus in real life. They're tiny, about the size of a rat. And it's ads like this which perpetuate the belief that platypussessesses are like beavers or otters or something.

Sort it out, Open and Direct folk.
