Is there a general Emmerdale thread?

Exmum Fri 19-Jul-13 15:25:49

I've found a couple of threads about particular characters but was wondering if there was one just for general observations <geek> and if we could have a hands up to see if anyone else cried at Brenda's hair thing. I thought all those tears and smiles looked real <sniff>

Do I need to get a life? blush

Footface Fri 19-Jul-13 17:41:44

Not seen a general emmerdale thread, shall we start one!

Brenda's scenes were very sad, has she really shaved her hair off in real life.

Cameron - does he want Debbie back or is he just playing a game. I think gennie will be his next victim.

And pollard, are they really off. I remember Eric when he was a antique dealer and an and all round shit. Stopped watching for a few years and he come back and he's a pillar of the community

Ellenora5 Fri 19-Jul-13 18:34:48

Hello, I'm in ladies, I had a thread about Vanessa but it didn't get many replies, lets make this a general Emmerdale thread, Brenda had her head shaved in real life as far as I know, ye the ceremony was lovely wasn't it.

Cameron is just unbelievable at the moment, I hope Debbie tells Chas and she kicks him out, Gennie is on to them though.

Anyone else finding Laurel a total PITA at the moment, I understand her trauma but it's a bit over acted and she is a brilliant actress but I have gone off her since she got with Marlon.

And back to Vanessa, she is a control freak, and Rhona knows it but needs her for drugs, where is she getting them by the way

Thanks for the thread Exmum

Exmum Fri 19-Jul-13 18:44:31

grin Glad you like it, Ellenora <takes a bit of a bow>

Footface, it's annoying when they completely change a character's personality but sometimes a relief if they're a PITA. I hope the Pollard lot aren't all going - there are others I'd rather see the back of first.

Keep an eye on the Cameron story line. wink <taps side of nose>

Wow, that's dedication to your job to have your hair shaved off for it. I know lots of actors do things like that but it's unusual to see it on a soap, is it not? I used to hate Lesley Dunlop because she was in that programme Smuggler with Oliver Tobias (blush I was very young blush) - I wanted to be her. She's grown on me as Brenda and I forgive her now (have you seen him lately grin?). Wee Gennie's got a nice voice. smile

Agree re Laurel.

I'm getting a bit bored with Vanessa/Rhona. I like Paddy, he makes me laugh - could do with a bit more of that.

Ellenora5 Fri 19-Jul-13 18:55:05

Aww I love Paddy aswell, him and Marlon used to make a great double act, and poor Paddy always seem to get left heartbroken.

I'm really hoping Val and Eric aren't leaving, Val is so funny, her one liners are brill.

I only remember Lesley Dunlop from that series May to December, she was also in numerous Kleenex adds. Her and Eric are a couple in real life smile

Ellenora5 Fri 19-Jul-13 18:56:33

Oops meant to say Footface, Eric used to be a corrupt councillor aswell, he really was horrible for years, but I do quite like him now

I`m here grin

I loved the wedding, it was exactly what I would have wanted although perhaps not to Bob, and it was nice that his children managed to get out of their front room, where they seem to reside 100% of the time!

Am I on my own having a secret little thing for Nickil? probably!

Camerons getting right on my nerves now, I wish they would bring the whole storyline to a head, hes going to do Gennie isnt he, which is a shame as I like her, shame it wasnt Laurel or Debbie.

And, will David and Preya actually stay together?

Aha, thats what I remember Lesley Dunlop in, May to December!!!

Footface Fri 19-Jul-13 19:14:30

Wow what a flash back, may to December I was just thinking of that today when I was watching birds of a feather. ( I really don't have a life at the mo)

I really like Amy and Eric's relationship. Very kind and calming.

Can't wait for charity to find out about Archie's baby.

Footface Fri 19-Jul-13 19:15:46

[onestepcloser] no your not on your own there. Although I don't get the whole andy sugden thing

Ellenora5 Fri 19-Jul-13 19:36:45

I don't get the Andy thing either, I really don't think he's that good looking and he always looks like he is sulking, agree about Amy and Eric, he really looks out for her, Footface my life is like yours, I won't say what old repeats I was watching earlier but they were very old....I can't wait for Cameron to be caught and then they can get rid of him altogether, with a bit of luck he'll take the dreadful Debbie with him, I would love to get a scissors to her hair

MissTriangle Fri 19-Jul-13 20:03:26

Can I join? It's utter trash but I have a slight addiction to Emmerdale.
I have heard Gennie is leaving so am presuming that she will be Cameron's next victim. Surely he can't get away with it for much longer though- he must get caught. It is wierd though as it gets forgotten about then randomly dragged up - ie. Alex's Grandma turning up a while back, then bones found etc. He gets on my nerves, all that sulking around.

Definitely agree with the brush to Debbie's hair. It is hideous!

SlatternismyMiddlename Fri 19-Jul-13 20:08:28

I'm in with a vengeance. I love Emmerdale.

I have been on holidays and am currently getting caught up with my sky plus.

Ugh do people really have a thing for Andy? I`d rather Eric in that case!

Now, see I always watch Emmerdale Farm (hee hee) but I`m struggling with Characters I like so:- (spreadsheet, and I`m willing to be swayed)

LIKE
Eric
Amy and Mother
Amys Mothers love interest (whats his name again)
Nickel (mmm)
Val
Paddy
Marlon
Ashley, possibly in small doses
Dingles, all of them apart from....

HATE
Debbie
Andy
Victoria
Vals sister, her bobbing hair does me
Use to like rhona when she was with Marlon, but shes changed
David and Preya

grin

Oooh I'll join. Haven't watched much recently but my friend keeps me up to date.

Lesley Dunlop used to love down the road from My mum and drank in the pub I worked in grin

I think Gennie will be next.

Nikhil is lovely looking onestep but I have it on v good authority that he's a prick

SlatternismyMiddlename Fri 19-Jul-13 20:33:25

Okay - I've just watched the wedding - please tell me that I wasn't the only one with a tear in my eye?

The drugs/Rhona storyline is tedious beyond belief. And, yes I know it's not real life, but how can Paddy as her husband not realise that something is up? He's married to her, she has turned into a complete bitch with unbelievable mood swings and comes out with a string of bizarre excuses for all sorts - and he hasn't noticed anything is up. Or he did ages ago and was satisfied with 'I'm an alcoholic' even though she had shown no previous penchant for hard drinking until 5 minutes ago. And breathe......

yamsareyammy Fri 19-Jul-13 20:36:45

Can I join? Though I am sometimes several episodes behind.
From the list of likes and dislikes, I am hesitant to say,as would' nt like to get anyone fired. I blow hot and cold about Victoria But like val's sister. I am so old that I just remember her in the Liver Birds[no one heard of them I suppose!grin].

Ellenora5 Fri 19-Jul-13 20:53:23

Oh yes the Liver Birds, forgot about that [grins] many moons ago yamsareyammy, (my older sister watched it you understand, not me blush

Ellenora5 Fri 19-Jul-13 20:54:16

Eh what happened to my smileys, they don't look right

yamsareyammy Fri 19-Jul-13 20:57:43

[grins]. And cant see what is wrong with your [grins]

yamsareyammy Fri 19-Jul-13 20:58:47

eh!!! Mine aren't working now. <mutters> Something is wrong at MNHQ!

Ellenora5 Fri 19-Jul-13 21:09:04

Bet they were watching Corrie!!

Sleepyfergus Sat 20-Jul-13 06:54:42

I watch occasionally - watch it ITV2 with subtitles when drying my hair in the morning!

Really fancy Nikhil and love his OCDness. My DH could do with a bit of that! Sad to learn that Gennie is leaving though, I like their little family.

lovelychops Sat 20-Jul-13 09:08:00

Hooray for this thread! I love Emmerdale grin

Really hope Val and Eric aren't leaving, they're my favourites. Love their relationship with Amy. Think Amy's mum is a great character, and think the actor who plays her is great.

Another one finding the Rhona story line boring. Never really warmed to her that much. And that Vanessa, urgh!

I may have had a little tear in my eye at the wedding. What a gorgeous voice Gennie has. I love Gennie and Nikhil, has anyone noticed their cd's are in colour order? Thinking of doing that myself grin

Sleepyfergus Sat 20-Jul-13 11:09:56

I noticed the CDs!! That's why I need Nikhil in my life, to organise me and do lots of other stuff I'd better not admit I fantasise about!

Yes, Rhona story becoming a bit much now. Shame because i quite like her character. Did tou know she and Cain are together (married?) in real life! Don't like Vanessa much, she's crafty.

And Debbie is just awful. Wouldn't miss her. She's been tanning with Tina from Corrie obviously!

lovelychops Sat 20-Jul-13 11:37:46

"Tanning with Tina" maybe the worlds worst spin off series?

SlatternismyMiddlename Sat 20-Jul-13 12:31:16

Love "tanning with Tina".

What about a documentary "neatness by Nikhil" or by the sound of some previous post "naughtiness with Nikhil"..........

Begginyouformercy Sat 20-Jul-13 14:57:01

Ooo, yes please - to both.

Not fussed for the tanning though grin (AIBU to mention Michelle in Corrie being a bit over done last week? wink)

I do hope wee Gennie's not going to try having a singing career and her song at the wedding was a hint to Simon Cowell or someone of that ilk. I don't want her to leave, she's one of the nice ones sad.

Victoria's too whiney - they need to lighten her up a bit or put her in the car with Gennie

cafenoir Sat 20-Jul-13 20:17:49

I'm in. I love Emmerdale.
Totally agree the Rhona/drugs/Vanessa thing is now tedious beyond belief. Am I the only one who can't stand Paddy? I don't know why I don't like the character but I just don't.
I love Nikhil and Gennie. Never noticed the CDs in colour order. Brilliant little touch! smile
Just can't understand why Chas puts up with bloody Cameron. He is NEVER there when she needs him and is a total flake. Have just read through this week's blurb in the tv supplement of the paper and Gennie is in a car accident!!!! Oh no! I BET it will be something to do with Cameron. I agree that whatever happens to her will be Cameron related as she is on to him big time.
I think my total worst character is Robbie! Bad character badly acted.

yamsareyammy Sat 20-Jul-13 22:19:03

ooh no. Paddy is nice. And funny.

But no no no I dont read spoilers.
Will have to hide this thread!

Ellenora5 Sat 20-Jul-13 22:29:21

Please don't post spoilers sad

lovelychops Sun 21-Jul-13 17:02:07

"Neatness with Nikhil" sounds genius!!

Yes to who noticed Robbie's rubbishness, he's a bit redundant now isn't he?

cafenoir Sun 21-Jul-13 21:29:37

Sorry. Won't post any spoilers from now on.
Robbie has been pretty pointless all along. Now utterly pointless. I think they could lose Megan too.

lovelychops Sun 21-Jul-13 21:42:38

Megan had a personality change. I don't mind her now.

If anyone could go, for me it would be Shaun. He's gormless to say the least. What was the point of the teen pregnancy storyline? Though I quite liked it when he got electrocuted wink

Ellenora5 Sun 21-Jul-13 23:27:53

Thanks cafenoir, ye Robbie has been a non story all along, there was no point to him at all, just as there was no point to Megan, I don't think Declan will be around much longer either, no one ever lasts long in the big house.

lovelychops, couldn't agree more about Shaun, I couldn't stand him from the day he was first seen and when he has that hideous baseball cap on he looks like a girl, it took me ages to figure out that he was male, and where is the little sister lately, at the 24 hour child minders I suppose, along with Samson, Daniel, Gabby and Leo, and are we ever going to get a look at Bernice other daughter, and why does she never want to see her!!

ChippingInHopHopHop Sun 21-Jul-13 23:44:40

I love Emmerdale - but if you tell anyone outside this thread, I will have to kill you wink

I love Moira.

I hope Eric & Val don't go.

It's a shame Gennie is going.

I wish Amy's Mam would go and take Preya with her.

Fed up with the Cameron/Chaz/Debbie shite.

Shaun's alright - he's a good actor.

Love Marlon, Paddy & Laurel - used to like Rhona. Dislike Vanessa.

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes Sun 21-Jul-13 23:52:34

Gennie is leaving? Noooooo! Why? I'm sure the actress will be ok. I think she's a great actress. Hope Val and Eric don't go. Love Amy too.

SlatternismyMiddlename Sun 21-Jul-13 23:54:16

Ooooh, Cain and Moira, there is a storyline that I like.

I'm not fond of Katie's pout but I have enjoyed her and Declan getting all snippy with each other.

Sleepyfergus Mon 22-Jul-13 03:47:52

Yes, am liking Cain and Moira. She is a good influence on him and they do act well together. You can sort of understand that they have 'fallen' for each other, and have real passion.

Do David and Priya get married then? Is Alesha with Dom(?). I liked David and Alesha together.

Yy to pointless Robbie. Never liked him, and can't stand Shaun either. He has a sneery face. And that bloody baseball cap! Is it a rite of passage or what? Liam in Eastenders used to wear his 24/7 too until recently!

cafenoir Mon 22-Jul-13 10:12:14

I don't actually mind Shaun. I loathed the whole family when they first arrived but now I like them. I would love to be the Emmerdale childminder. They must be raking the cash in what with so many kids there 24/7. Who is DANIEL? shock I've been watching just over 2 years but can't bring a Daniel to mind.

And YY Moira is such a good influence on Cain. He's developing quite a conscience bless him.

Ellenora5 Mon 22-Jul-13 12:26:12

He's Laurel and Ashleys little boy cafenoir, isn't he, or maybe I'm getting confused confused

lovelychops Mon 22-Jul-13 12:27:44

Another vote for Cain and Moira! I like them.

I don't care for Moira's son though, he does nothing.

Did you know Debbie and David are together in real life?

My MIL said the man who plays Alan Turner had died recently. Is this true?

Ellenora5 Mon 22-Jul-13 12:33:50

Oh no, scrap my last post, the child is called Arthur, don't know where I got Daniel from.

Yes he passed away a couple of weeks ago lovelychops

Ye I saw them on Mr and Mrs, she had absolutely no personality at all, there child is Buster as far as I remember

Ellenora5 Mon 22-Jul-13 12:35:55

God almighty what is wrong with me today, that should say, their child is called Buster, mind you the way I'm thinking today I could be wrong on that aswell. I think Rhona and Cain have two kids in real life.

Whats Shauns Dad called again, I like his character, he could have some comedy storylines, it would suit him.

yy to Moria and Cain, they make a good couple, but wish her miserable son would do one.

wheres Edna? have I missed something?

Ellenora5 Mon 22-Jul-13 12:55:01

He's called Dan, I like him too, he can be very funny, don't know where Edna is lately, I'm another who wish Adam would do one, his brother is a much better actor.

mrsdinklage Mon 22-Jul-13 12:59:44

Dan is funny - I don't know why they don't make more use of him. I don't understand why Moira lets Adam live with her.

Footface Mon 22-Jul-13 14:24:40

Daniel was laurel and ashley baby he died of SIDS a few years ago now

Sleepyfergus Mon 22-Jul-13 14:45:22

Yeah, Dan is growing on me, and so is Amy's mum in a weird way. I'd like to see her an Dan properly fall in lurve and for her to amend her ways a bit (but not too much).

When does Charity find out about Archie??

Begginyouformercy Mon 22-Jul-13 15:36:17

Aw, I didn't know RL Alan Turner had died sad.

Did anyone see that programme they did about the making of their 40th (or whatever it was) live episode? OMG I loved that blush. The RL Shaun was on and I almost didn't recognise him - he looked like quite a nice chap shock. I think that shows how good an actor he is to get us all hating him so much grin.

I wish Priya would bugger off and let David marry Alicia.

I thought that in the beginning beggin but now I think hes just such a sap and Alicia could do so much better than him oh no I dont take this to seriously grin

lovelychops Mon 22-Jul-13 16:13:23

YES David and Alicia should be happy. She deserves better than Dom and his odd hair and nasty daughter.

YES Adam should bore off.

YES Dan has become a funny likeable character, much better than when he was moping around after Chas.

YES loved the live episode. Was stupidly exited!

Never agreed with so much on MN! I love this thread!!!

How will they write in the Death of Alan? hmm

My DP saw Debbie on mr and mrs (have no idea why he was watching) and he said she was all "pouty".

NuggetofPurestGreen Mon 22-Jul-13 19:11:38

Missed Friday's - what does Gennie know that she's going to have to break a promise to Debbie and tell Chas???

NuggetofPurestGreen Mon 22-Jul-13 19:18:50

Jaysus that Cameron is some piece of work. 'If I can't be happy with you I'll just stay with Chas, may as well'.

[shocked]

Badvoc Mon 22-Jul-13 19:21:24

Is marlon still in it?
I liked marlon...

cafenoir Mon 22-Jul-13 19:36:56

Flipping heck! Cameron tonight!!!! Talk about hedging his bets!
Nugget Gennie thought Cameron was threatening Debbie and was going to warn Chas about that. Then tonight she realised he wasn't threatening her but rather still had feelings for Debbie, so has warned Chas about that. Oooooh it getting good!!!! smile

Yes Badvoc Marlon is very much still in it. He's the biological Dad of Rhona's baby. Only Rhona is married to Paddy. But the 3 of them parent the baby.

Badvoc Mon 22-Jul-13 19:37:32

Blimey...

Yy to Debbie being v pouty and shiny.

Jeff and Rhona have a Violet and a Stanley iirc, lovely names.

Agree that Dan's much better non-mopey.

I'm disappointed in Jason Merrels character, I loved him in Cutting it, but Declan is a bit rubbish.

Sleepyfergus Mon 22-Jul-13 22:28:29

Re Declan, i agree. But jeez, Katie would do your head in though wouldn't she. She's such a crap character. Send her back down the mine shaft.....

mrsdinklage Mon 22-Jul-13 23:58:43

Sleepy - so right - she shouldn't have got out of the mine shaft. Had to laugh at Declan tonight.

I was so disappointed when Katie was rescued. I had really hoped she would die as I've never liked her.

Ellenora5 Tue 23-Jul-13 22:12:03

Cameron is such a sleazebag, what do all these women see in him, as for Victoria, she acts like a brat, agree about Katie, she really has no role in it anymore, time to get rid I say

lovelychops Wed 24-Jul-13 21:58:03

Bore off Shaun with your weird voice and childish ways!!!

qazxc Wed 24-Jul-13 22:39:52

oh god that awful vanessa thinks that her and rhona are going to be the new allie and ruby (?) doesn't she?

Chas is so whiney. She's a really pretty woman too but her hair is awful like that. It used to be really lovely.

I love Dan. And Amy. Rachel is really awful.

I agree about Vanessa. She wants Rhona. Wish she would get on with it though, its boring now.

Ellenora5 Thu 25-Jul-13 01:18:33

Vanessa is as creepy as Cameron, the looks she gives Rhona are just weird and cringey.

Agree about Rachel, wouldn't you think she would have had the balls to just say that the baby is Jai and not Rishi, why on earth would she go along with that, when she came into Emmerdale she was all feisty and get up and go and now she is worse than Gennie used to be

cafenoir Thu 25-Jul-13 07:37:50

Is Vanessa jealous of Rhona and Paddy because they're happily married and she feels left out because she's not in a relationship? Or does she fancy her and want her for herself?
I don't get what's going on here?

She fancies her I think. She was talking to Allie last night about when she left Dan.

cafenoir Thu 25-Jul-13 17:33:33

Aha ok. Thanks for that. I was a bit distracted when I was watching last night and didn't pick up on her talking to Allie.

Ooh it's all kicking off

Footface Thu 25-Jul-13 20:09:32

Oh no poor gennie,

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Thu 25-Jul-13 20:16:01

I didn't see this thread, just started one. My god that was awful.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Thu 25-Jul-13 20:20:37

He's gonna kill her isn't he?

I thought he was going to stamp on her head there shock

NotReal NotReal NotReal

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Thu 25-Jul-13 20:25:52

This is scary!

Callmedreckly Thu 25-Jul-13 20:27:13

Omfg

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Thu 25-Jul-13 20:27:24

Oh my goodness that man's a bastard. sad

cafenoir Thu 25-Jul-13 20:27:54

Oh my God. That was horrific. He is a psychopath. Oh poor Nickhil sad You are right 70. It's NOT real.

Callmedreckly Thu 25-Jul-13 20:29:13

Ive got goosebumps.
I thought he was going to break her neck, was waiting for the crunch & thought surely not at this time of night, urghhhh god, still horrible though.

Lilyloo Thu 25-Jul-13 20:30:50

Anyone else think that was far too much for this time of night , thankfully my dc weren't in the room but I wouldn't have been happy for them to see that!!!

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Thu 25-Jul-13 20:32:59

Yes that was a bit explicit. Glad my two are in bed.

Nooo poor Gennie!
I'm far too emotional, it made me cry blushsad
Poor Nikhil and Molly

He is evil

Footface Thu 25-Jul-13 20:35:57

Oh let's hope Katie gets in his way next grin

lovelychops Thu 25-Jul-13 20:42:11

I did not expect that!

Thought the car crash was very realistic, but as others have said maybe a bit too real for this time of night !

deemented Thu 25-Jul-13 20:48:27

OMG, this will kill poor Brenda sad

Ellenora5 Thu 25-Jul-13 21:06:39

footface, that would be great, and then Victoria and Priya, bump them off I say and start afresh with new people, oh and throw Adam in the mix aswell, I can't understand why she got into the car, surely the pub would be nearer, Nikhil will make great use of his wooden acting skills now

LottieJenkins Thu 25-Jul-13 21:13:19

I purposely didn't watch it. I think Dominic Power is an amazing actor and very handsome. (Adored him when he was in The Bill too!)

amothersplaceisinthewrong Thu 25-Jul-13 21:15:32

Evil, evil Cameron. Surely someone will discover the recording of his confession .... justice is always done eventually in Soaps!

cafenoir Thu 25-Jul-13 21:27:55

Oh heck I totally forgot about Brenda in all this. Hardly dare watch tomorrow sad

I agree amothersplace that the best we can hope for now is that Gennie's phone is found, that it is still working and that someone finds the damning recording.

Though didn't Dominic Power say in an interview that the most viewers will stand for before a character is brought to justice, is 5 murders?! In which case maybe we WILL get shot of Priya and Katie or annoying Victoria?

lovelychops Thu 25-Jul-13 22:00:01

Poor Brenda! Poor Molly!

Will Nickhil find the dictaphone and save the day? Who else can Cameron kill? hopefully Debbie? Does this mean the B&B sale won't go through and Val and Eric can stay?

So many questions!

So was Debbie genuine when she said she loves him or was she going to get him to break up with Chas and then dump him?

I am also telling myself its not real. That was horrific.

MikeLitoris Thu 25-Jul-13 22:26:00

Just caught up.

I feel sick sad

Very well acted tonight I thought. Even Super orange debbie

qazxc Thu 25-Jul-13 23:17:13

where's the dictaphone. i missed when she got out of the house.
How are Debbie and cameron going to explain chasing her in the car? or being in a car together in the first place?

MikeLitoris Fri 26-Jul-13 07:33:13

They were seen by the passing motorcyclist weren't they? I hope he gets caught soon.

Burmobasher Fri 26-Jul-13 07:45:28

I'm still traumatised.

MikeLitoris Fri 26-Jul-13 07:48:08

I dont know if I can watch tonight's.

Poor Nikhil. I have heard he is leaving. Hope cameron doesnt bump him off too.

I can't stand Priya in Emmerdale or Priya in Big Bang Theory. I'm sure at some point there will be an onscreen Priya that I like...

Begginyouformercy Fri 26-Jul-13 14:48:16

Wow, that really was quite something shock. Very well done all round but, I agree, possibly a bit much for that time of night, or lunchtime, as the case may be.

There's going to be a hell of a mess to clean up. I speak from experience. A thrown can of juice makes a hoor of a mess. Let's hope it was sugarfree.

MikeLitoris Fri 26-Jul-13 19:12:01

At least cameron didnt find the dictaphone in the car before he left.

lovelychops Fri 26-Jul-13 19:28:51

Poor Brenda hmm !!!

MikeLitoris Fri 26-Jul-13 19:39:42

I poor Nikhil's face.

The acting has been so good for this story line.

Burmobasher Fri 26-Jul-13 19:44:01

Brilliant isn't it? So well done and so sad tonight

MikeLitoris Fri 26-Jul-13 19:52:08

I will admit to being a snivelling mess watching that tonight.

lovelychops Fri 26-Jul-13 19:59:26

I may have had something in my eye...

Ellenora5 Mon 29-Jul-13 20:24:06

I wonder how long Debbie can keep it together, I hope they don't draw this out for ages, Cameron needs to be caught. Isn't Steve awfully creepy, you can see Nicola is starting to get very wary of him.

cafenoir Mon 29-Jul-13 20:48:04

Yes the acting is really good. Poor Nikhil and Brenda. Debbie is going to pieces. I wonder if Cameron is going to murder anyone else or whether this will be his undoing? Steve getting uber scary/creepy now.

Dumpylump Tue 30-Jul-13 14:14:43

Going slightly off track here, but I read somewhere that no one in soaps ever gets away with murder and that got me thinking..... I can't remember all the details (I can't remember very many details at all), but I think the actress who plays Marilyn in Home and Away got away with murder when she played a barmaid in Emmerdale.
I think that Terry knew, and helped her cover it up, but am totally lost on any of the rest of the story! Does anyone else remember?

MikeLitoris Tue 30-Jul-13 14:18:59

Karl got away with killing that postie and his dad.

I knkw he died eventually but that was nothing to do with him being a murderer.

Cant remember the marilyn one though. That is going to bug me.

Dumpylump Tue 30-Jul-13 15:06:17

Sorry Mike it's been bugging me too! I can't even remember who it was that she murdered! blush

shellbot Tue 30-Jul-13 15:20:30

I can't remember his name but wasn't it someone she was going out with who tried to rape her and she killed him in self defence? I seem to remember Terry helping her dispose of the body.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louise_Appleton

MikeLitoris Tue 30-Jul-13 16:34:30

I looked on wiki too.

I was surprised at the amount of storylines she had. I hardly remember her at all.

NuggetofPurestGreen Tue 30-Jul-13 19:26:54

Remember the woman that died in the knicker factory in Corrie? She was Polish. I know they didn't kill her but no one ever found out they covered up the death did they?

I know that's not getting away with murder but everything usually comes out in soaps.

Footface Thu 01-Aug-13 13:04:53

Is it just me but is anyone else already bored with the nikhil storyline, it's really badly acted, and there isn't anywhere to go with it.!

It's me isn't it?

Nospringchickendipper Thu 01-Aug-13 14:37:14

I think that the Nikhill storyline is very well acted. Nikhill always found it hard to show emotion,he also has O.C.D. and is struggling to cope.

I find it hard to watch the scenes with his daughter. The actor is leaving Emmerdale and I think that this what the storyline will lead up to.

Begginyouformercy Thu 01-Aug-13 14:57:27

I didn't know he was leaving. Wee Mollie is so sweet smile.

What's with that creepy Steve? Is he trying to get into Nicola's knickers?

Ellenora5 Thu 01-Aug-13 15:02:20

He's horrible isn't he begginyouformercy, I think he is going to make life really hard for her, she's a pain in the bum but she doesn't deserve that.

Footface I'm with you, think Nikhil is awful, can't wait till he is gone.

Footface Thu 01-Aug-13 16:09:10

I just think its a shame that they couldn't just have a normal grieving story line for a change rather than the nikhil bit.

Emmerdales great at doing low key, well acted storylines and this just seems to be detracting from what was until now a brilliant storyline.

Loving the new Steve and Nicole side story very interesting

NuggetofPurestGreen Fri 02-Aug-13 13:31:35

I love Cain. Just watched last night's episode, love the way he keeps happening upon Cameron coming out of Debbie's house/hoving into view when Debbie's about and then looking suspicious.

Wonder what's going to happen with the dictaphone? Would love if someone just listened to it and wrapped up the Cameron storyline but that seems unlikely...

Begginyouformercy Fri 02-Aug-13 14:15:37

Where is the dictaphone?

Footface Fri 02-Aug-13 14:43:34

Why did gennie have a dictaphone. I reckon Cain is next. Is Debbie leaving she's got to go to prison!

Ellenora5 Fri 02-Aug-13 16:30:20

Gennie had a dictaphone because she was going to leave it in debbies to catch her talking to Cameron to prove they were having an affair, but they came in when she was trying to leave it there, she heard everything they said but it was also on the dicataphone I presume, she left with it and got into the car, I reckon it will be in her things when the police give them back to Nikhil.

I hope Cain isn't being killed off, he's my favourite baddie, maybe he will kill Debbie and get her out of it for good

Cain can't go, he's the only good looking man in it.

Allthingspretty Fri 02-Aug-13 20:12:54

Apparently they are planning a week of special episodes to coincide with Karls death last.year so October time. I know Adam gets blamed for Alex's death when.the body is found which I imagine is pretty soon.

BunnyBeanz Fri 02-Aug-13 23:58:58

Nikhil now has the dictaphone back... why did the police not hear whats on it!?? hmm

SlatternismyMiddlename Sat 03-Aug-13 21:56:53

I find Steve very creepy. I just don't get where that storyline is going. If it is a black mail for sex story line why would Nicola ever allow herself to be out in that position? And she could just tell Jimmy she borrowed money, it's not that big a deal.

NuggetofPurestGreen Sun 04-Aug-13 14:53:27

Yeah they showed a shot of the dictaphone in the car when the ambulance came for Gennie. Can't believe Nikhil didn't listen! Although I knew this was going on until October.

Nospringchickendipper Sun 04-Aug-13 15:41:31

I thought Steve might have been trying to blackmail Nicola to get information about Declan because he bought the racehorse that Steve wanted.

I was wondering what will happen to Debbie she has played a part in Gennies death and knows that Cameron killed Carl. Will she go to jail has been in jail before for something.

Begginyouformercy Mon 05-Aug-13 14:04:54

I just cannot see the handsomeness in Cain. confused

Ah, I think you've got a point about the racehorse thing, Nospring.

I wasn't watching properly, did Vanessa tell Rhona she fancied her?

Nospringchickendipper Mon 05-Aug-13 17:26:02

I think Vanessa told Rhona that she loved her.

Don't really like this story line so wasn't really paying attention either.

cafenoir Tue 06-Aug-13 16:04:29

Yes Vanessa did tell Rhona she loved her. Seems a bit of a red-herringy story line unless Rhona discovers she is gay or bi. But I think she's too busy internally bleeding and being addicted to painkillers to be having an issue with her sexual preferences at the mo.

Cain has awful skin and a crap hair cut which are a bit off putting in the handsomness stakes.

Sleepyfergus Tue 06-Aug-13 16:45:17

I think Cain has improved in looks as he's matured. He's a bit more fanciable than he used to be. I think Moira makes he seem a bit more acceptable now! I still find it weird that e is married to Rhona in rl. That's showbiz for you!

Wish Vanessa would bog off. I remember ages ago thinking she had a thing for Rhona as she was always just hanging around, like the third person in Rhona 'n' Paddys marriage.

I know it's only soap land, but sometimes folk are so blatant and no-one ever suspects. Like David's eyes in Corrie. Bloody obvious he's plotting!

Ellenora5 Tue 06-Aug-13 19:56:31

Laurel is becoming a complete pita, she should leave and take the dreadful Vanessa with her.

WannaBeANinja Wed 07-Aug-13 22:22:44

I can't stand Vanessa.

Also,Brenda was saying to bob the other day that "he has no idea how she feels loosing a child"

Has he forgotten about his daughter Dawn?? And th is never mentioned by either of them. Brenda was with his dad Terry and he lived with them.

Why do soap people just forget people!
It's bizarre

Begginyouformercy Thu 08-Aug-13 09:23:31

I thought I heard Bob mention Dawn the other day and I wondered who she was.

WannaBeANinja Thu 08-Aug-13 09:33:12

smile

Shes his daughter, she was killed by the kings! They were builig an estate of houses (up near the big house I think) and they were shoddily built and there was an explosion on the opening day, she died.

she had a son tj with Terry - then Brenda got with Terry and lived with him and tj. Then Terry died in the fire and tj lived with her for a while before he wnt to morocco.

Which is why it baffles me that no one ever fuckig mentions them!!!!

milk Thu 08-Aug-13 11:32:46

Why did tj go to Morocco?!?

JackieOHHH Thu 08-Aug-13 12:40:30

I'm at a point where I'm thinking of leaving emmer dale behind, it's doing my head in...please can someone reassure me that the following characters will piss off soon, and/or the story line will improve?
Cameron-WTAF? He's a serial killer, he's very creepy, and chas is love struck....time he got what's coming to him, he is awful.
Rhona-drug addict, we've had weeks of seeing her try to score, beg Vanessa, get pills from Vanessa, try to score, beg Vanessa, get pills from Vanessa....YAWN, so boring. And why can't she talk to paddy? He's lovely. Vanessa is awful, a real nasty controlling piece if work.
Laurel-FFS MAN up woman, God knows what she's gonna do next but she simpers and wines that much, if I were marlon I'd have lost it with her. Another stupid story line that's getting draaaaagggggeeeeedddd out to keep us 'on our toes' well I'm sorry but I'm on my back asleep it's so dull.

Cain is bloody gorgeous but much better when he's being bad...Moiras sorted him out a lot.
Oh, and it's about time jai was un masked as that babies real dad, how can ANYONE actually believe that Rachel would shag that old man????

I dunno, have they got a new writer or something? Who thinks we are all idiots?

I left eastenders years ago for similar reasons..... PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!!!

Begginyouformercy Thu 08-Aug-13 13:17:45

I've just watched the latest episode. Why the hell did bloody Marlon look like a kicked puppy when Laurel was shouting at him? I know she's had a bad experience but she was out of order. Why do the writers have to write scripts where folk are so badly behaved?? Have a bit of decorum, Laurel, FFS.

Nospringchickendipper Thu 08-Aug-13 13:47:54

I wish Laurel and Ashley would get back together, don't believe her and Marlon work together.

Could the wardrobe department find Laurel a new coat that pink one she wears is hideous

On the plus side I think Arthur is a lovely little boy, he can out act some of the older actors.

My thoughts on Emmerdalesmile

Ellenora5 Thu 08-Aug-13 13:58:32

Laurel was speaking to Marlon as if he was a five year old, and he just takes it, it's wrecking my head watching the two of them, they are not suited as a couple at all. What is the point of Bernice?

Begginyouformercy Thu 08-Aug-13 14:00:35

Bernice is just another irritation, Ellenora wink

I like that, Nospring, 'My thoughts on Emmerdale' - good thread title grin

Ellenora5 Thu 08-Aug-13 14:11:18

grin a bloody big one Beggingyou, she doesn't seem one bit bothered that her daughter is going to live at the other side of the world, mind you she was never bothered about leaving whatshername behind either.

WannaBeANinja Thu 08-Aug-13 17:19:46

Dawns mam lives in morocco so tj went to live with her. although bob and Brenda never mention him.

It winds me up!!!

I might email someone and ask for him to be mentioned in passing occasionally.

and bobs son- the or that was a postman and was shagging maralyn from h&a!!

and also viv. No one ever mentions her.

WannaBeANinja Thu 08-Aug-13 17:21:48

and has Edna won the lottery or somet??

A while ago she couldn't even afford a cheese Sarnie and now shes supping in the wooly with the rest of them!

Bob's son Jamie went to Cornwall, Gennie should have gone with him then she wouldn't have been murdered by Cameron

Nospringchickendipper Thu 08-Aug-13 18:05:06

Edna's story line was very sad ,she was in lots of debt and her dog was very ill. It seem to get sorted very quickly .

I never forgive Charity how she treated Edna at that time.

Begginyouformercy Thu 08-Aug-13 18:32:05

I think Edna's got more money as she has a lodger now.

cafenoir Thu 08-Aug-13 18:40:23

I also wonder why I keep on watching at the moment. Jackieohh sums up my feelings perfectly (except I find Cain a bit average looking as opposed to a specimen of male gorgeousness.

I think the Rhona plot is beyond boring/frustrating/irritating, as is the Laurel carjacking PTSD. She needs help and for her family's and viewers sake she should ring Victim Support, get some flipping counselling and put us all out of our misery.

Cameron, Declan & Katie are both frustrating and boring in turn. In fact the only bit that stops me nodding off at the moment is the Nicola/Steve stalking. Debbie is an utter pita still. Come ON writers and move stuff on.

Begginyouformercy Thu 08-Aug-13 21:15:36

Poor Paddy sad

I can't remember if I said the other day and I'm far too bone idle to scroll back but where did Rhona suddenly find a drug dealer?

WannaBeANinja Thu 08-Aug-13 21:24:53

the yellow pages smile

Begginyouformercy Thu 08-Aug-13 21:42:19

grin

Ooh, so pleased I found this thread smile I bloody love occasionally watch it grin

So what do I know/think...... hmm well they've mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Alan Turner had gone off to France with some biker friends, I think that will lead to them dealing with his RL passing eventually.

Jimmy helped Edna out by paying a lot of her debts and fixing up her house (he obviously felt guilty about being spineless while Charity was taking over)

I hope they sort Nikill out soon, I can't cope with his one and only face of nothing (but they CAN keep him in the lycra a bit longer grin )

I hate Debbie (her and David have just split up in RL) I also hate that Kerry, she can do one and take Victoria with her. Love love love Cane and Moira. More than ready for the whole Cameron thing to be over now. I can't believe for a second if the police were looking for a reason for the accident they wouldn't have listened to the dictaphone before handing it back.

That's all for now, I had clearly needed an outlet, many thanks grin

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 08-Aug-13 21:59:04

WannaBe in fairness last week Brenda was saying she was never going to get over Gennie's death and Bob was saying 'you will life goes on blah blah like the way I had to keep going after Dawn died' or some such. So she did get a mention.

But yes you're right no one ever mentions them normally. Or anybody's who's left!

Ellenora5 Thu 08-Aug-13 22:33:44

Between the faces of Rhona, Vanessa and Laurel in tonights episodes, I seriously wanted to chuck something at the telly, I don't think I have ever seen such gormless expressions on anyone. They all looked the same. I have said it before that the woman who plays Laurel is a brilliant actress but since she got with Marlon she has been woeful, why can she not see she needs help, facing up to her fears, with a carjacker, yep that's the way to go out about getting help alright. As for Vanessa, she is just a controlling manipulative wagon, I can't wait for her to be outed as a drug dealer and I hope Paddy dumps Rhona for the coward that she is.

Phew feel a bit better now I've got that off my chest smile

Jacaqueen Fri 09-Aug-13 08:35:23

I am all for diversity but they have already done the lesbian vet story line with Zoe. If they needed to have another gay character why another bloody vet?

Nospringchickendipper Fri 09-Aug-13 08:37:21

Paddy should leave Rhona and run off with Pearl that would be a good story line.smile

lovelychops Fri 09-Aug-13 09:52:19

The Rhona thing could have been done so much better. Respectable vet getting addicted to prescription medicine etc. WHY bring the whole boring Vanessa into it? She was a nobber from the second she arrived. Really rude to paddy, acting like the eternal student. Urgh!
Paddy deserves so much better. I liked him and Chas together!
Yes, when will the identity of Rachael's baby be revealed? Another one that's been dragged out for ages.
I'd quite like laurel and Ashley back together, now Ashley's not hitting lovely sandy of course.
Think I'm the only person who likes Katie. grin

Begginyouformercy Fri 09-Aug-13 09:55:44

Why did Paddy and Chas split up?

Yes lovely I think you are grin I quite liked her with Declan before she turned into a moaning, whining nagging old fish wife!

Another one that Cameron can get rid of would be Bernice, I nearly stopped watching when I heard she was coming back. I actually can't wait for Steven to break her heart, that'll knock her down a peg or 2!!

JackieOHHH Fri 09-Aug-13 10:41:11

Think I'm only keeping at it in the vain hope that soon, nikhill will listen to that dictaphone!
Then the shit will hit the fan, but it's been put away and I can't see it ever seeing the light if day again sadly.
I do think the writers are either muddled, or bonkers...there's no continuity with some stuff....I mean why, why did they make such a big thing of gennie recording that conversation if no own is ever going to hear it?
I'm SICK of rhona and Vanessa..... Really not sure how much more of them I can take.
Wish Cain would be a bit naughty again...I LURVES him!

Hey Boo smile

Nospringchickendipper Fri 09-Aug-13 12:43:09

Paddy and Chas broke up because she was having an affair with Carl King.

I like Paddy he is a bit daft but the women in his life always treat him badly.

I think that the problem with long story lines are that we as an audience are too impatient and we want them bringing to closure quickly.
A good soap probably needs several different plots both short term and long term to make it successful .

Ooh hi Rubber smile

milk Fri 09-Aug-13 13:46:00

Why hasn't Vanessa told Paddy that Rhona has a drug problem?!?

Begginyouformercy Fri 09-Aug-13 13:53:58

I think it's so she can keep her where she wants her, Milk. As long as Rhona's dependent on her for the drugs, she needs her IYSWIM.

cafenoir Fri 09-Aug-13 20:37:26

I agree that it's in Vanessa's interest to keep Rhona's problem from Paddy. Do we think Rhona is really considering her sexual orientation or is just trying to keep hold of the source of her supply?

Also will Either Amy, or Cain and Moira end up fostering/adopting Kyle? Or could Amy and Cain possibly get together and bring him up together? Nah, can't see that happening? But surely someone out of these 3 are going to end up with him or why else have the story line of his adoptive parents dying? Intriguing new plot here.

I'd like Ashley and Laurel to get back together too. I just don't see Marlon and her as a couple. And over the last week or so, Ashley has morphed into a bit of silver fox looks wise imo. (I am quite old though so perhaps have different parameters of hotness these days?)

Ellenora5 Fri 09-Aug-13 21:31:27

cafenoir, I thought the same thing about Ashley, thought he was looking very well indeed, I would love him to get together with someone but I don't think he should get back with Laurel, she's far to drippy nowadays.

Isn't that Vanessa a bitch, suggesting to Paddy that Rhona is seeing someone else, and is Paddy stupid not to put two and two together and realise that everything went pear shaped when she arrived.

I think Amy will get Kyle back on the understanding that Val and Eric help her or maybe they will foster Kyle, it's a good storyline and I hope it's a happy ending.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Sat 10-Aug-13 00:06:53

Marking place.

It's the only soap I watch. Just got back from two weeks away & had to watch Gennie's death on catch up this morning.

Cameron must get caught soon, surely Nikhil will listen to the dictaphone. Vanessa is a total bitch and has messed Rhona up big style can't wait until it all comes out.

Nospringchickendipper Sat 10-Aug-13 12:56:58

I love Amy and love the relationship she has with Val and Eric. I would love her to get Kyle back but would this be allow to happen in rl once you have given your child up for adoption.

cafenoir Sat 10-Aug-13 17:11:54

It would be stupendously bad writing for Gennie's dictaphone to be a red herring. Am sure someone will listen to it.

SlatternismyMiddlename Sun 11-Aug-13 14:14:14

I am now fast forwarding through all scenes involving Rhona and doing it at extra speed should Vanessa also be involved in the scene. Laurel is just tedious, she used to be feisty and quirky.

I did have a wee giggle at cafenoir's "different parameters of hotness".

cafenoir Sun 11-Aug-13 21:43:23

If this Rhona/Vanessa thing carries on beyond this week I'm going to start watching on iplayer so I can shorten the lifespan of the tedium of their scenes too slattern. I swear re hotness, I'm lowering the goalposts the older I get. Most worrying.

lovelychops Mon 12-Aug-13 21:45:48

The whole Rhona / Vanessa thing is basically the same scene, repeated over and over and over. Did we establish where Vanessa was getting the drugs from ???

I don't know what to feel about the whole Ashley thing. He's certainly looking better, but ya know ... It's Ashley?! This is probably an appropriate time to confess I had a bit of a thing for Declan when I was pregnant. It's gone now, I blame the hormones smile

Begginyouformercy Tue 13-Aug-13 14:19:29

I think Vanessa's getting the drugs from the props people grin.

Oh god, I see my SiL Denise Black has made her first appearance wine.

Poor Brenda sad.

Footface Wed 14-Aug-13 19:26:27

Yay me me me Katie has gone!

Aquelven Wed 14-Aug-13 20:48:25

What I want to know is how they all earn a living?
What does Ashley live on? And the village has a pub, coffee shop & deli shop( but no basics shop) with not enough customers to pay the overheads let alone the numbers of staff they have. The garage has hardly any cars in for repair & the vets seem to see about three animals a week.

Ash works on the farm, David has a proper shop and at least they own their own washing machines (looking at you enders which I actually can't bare to watch any more ) I assume the customers are ramblers tourists and lost people grin

Just caught up with the last 2 episodes, aaw Nikill finally got it together and made a different face smile and no Rhona the moaner which made a nice change smile

cafenoir Wed 14-Aug-13 23:15:02

We've had a bit of respite this week I agree Everything what with Nikhill coming round a bit, Katie's doing a runner and no flipping moaning Laurel/Rhona and Vanessa. It's been far less irritating.

kissitbetter Wed 14-Aug-13 23:59:06

I've just watched a few recorded episodes... Did anyone else find themselves unexpectedly sobbing over Nikhil and Molly?

yep just a little tear blush

Begginyouformercy Thu 15-Aug-13 14:18:14

"aaw Nikill finally got it together and made a different face"

grin grin

It may have been slightly moving

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Thu 15-Aug-13 19:33:50

My eyes have been leaking!

Go Chastity!

Looking forward to the next one!!

Begginyouformercy Thu 15-Aug-13 21:29:36

I've still got the second half to watch - how did Chas know? Did she just suss it out?

cafenoir Thu 15-Aug-13 22:00:16

Just caught up with tonight's on iplayer. Good grief. I'm an emotional wreckage. Begging, Chas saw Cameron through the windows at Debbie's just before the funeral. She asked him where he'd been and he said he was changing the barrels in the pub. That's when she had an epiphany. Think she saw the way he was looking at Debbie. I was a bit teary-eyed at Nikhill and Brenda. And for Chas when she said she had hated Gennie before she died and that she'd been right all along etc. Some really good acting.

I still can't quite work out Steve's gameplan. Thought he wanted to screw Declan when he typed the extra number into the bank account info but then saved Nicola's bacon. So it looks for the time being that it's more Nicola he's after?

sadsad just finished watching tonight's, wow!! Lovely acting from everyone.

Go Chas smile

Begginyouformercy Fri 16-Aug-13 08:56:39

Thank you Cafe.

Brenda's character has changed quite a bit, don't you think? She used to be a bit irritating and dosy. She's alright now.

I agree - good acting.

iloveweetos Fri 16-Aug-13 09:24:29

i couldnt help but notice how tanned moiras cleavage was!

Nospringchickendipper Fri 16-Aug-13 12:21:58

What is Brenda going to do if Nikhal goes and takes Molly with him.sad

Great acting last night had a little weep must remember its not real.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Fri 16-Aug-13 19:07:47

Am I being thick, why did the coffin say Gennie Walker?

It should have been Gennie Sharma no?

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Fri 16-Aug-13 19:14:17

Oh I love Cain!!!!

I had just come on to say that Pokey grin

Never noticed the Walker thing, surely it should have said Sharma??

LottieJenkins Fri 16-Aug-13 19:20:25

Who sung the Nobodies Perfect song at the end of last nights episode please??

Burmobasher Fri 16-Aug-13 19:38:19

I love Cain too. Just caught up with the funeral <sniffle>

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Fri 16-Aug-13 19:45:50

What a great episode!!!

I would love to have Cain as a big brother/dad boyfriend wink

I really like Chas's dignity, not lowering herself to drippy Debbie's level. There's going to be tears before bedtime when Nikhil finally tells everyone he's off with the baby!

lovelychops Sat 17-Aug-13 14:45:28

Moria's mahogany tan almost distracted me from the drama!
Cried at the funeral when I was catching up yesterday morning, but it had been a stressful week...
I really hope chas and charity will be mates again.
I do love Cain!!

cafenoir Sat 17-Aug-13 17:06:19

Cain would have sorted my ex out good and proper. Where was he when I needed him smile

NuggetofPurestGreen Sat 17-Aug-13 22:14:35

Here I've somehow missed the dead body on Declan's land storyline even though watch Emmerdale a lot. Obviously I just zone out whenever Katie and Declan and Judy from Corrie are onscreen cos they're so annoying. Can someone summarise for me please??! Also is it Alex's body or unrelated to that storyline?

NuggetofPurestGreen Sat 17-Aug-13 22:19:12

Oh God just starting watching the funeral episode crying already at Nikhil and the confetti in his pocket! sad

SlatternismyMiddlename Sat 17-Aug-13 23:10:17

I thought the funeral was brilliantly done. DH thought Moira's cleavage was equally fabulous.

Chas and Cain were great. As said above no Rhona/Vanessa to spoil the episode. Emmerdale is definitely the best soap at the moment.

Ellenora5 Sun 18-Aug-13 01:25:02

Yep it's Alex body, Cameron had to move him when the digging started for the festival, not sure he did move him though, I'm a bit vague on that one, sometimes with Cameron everything becomes a blur because he has the same storyline over and over again, murder, affair, murder, affair...and where is the damn Dictaphone and why didn't Cameron die when Cain hit him with the hammer!!

Begginyouformercy Sun 18-Aug-13 10:32:41

I know what happens with the dictaphone! <jumps up and down excitedly with ma lips zipped> grin

Which ones Judy in Corrie, Nugget?

OMG Begging I'm torn between asking for a pm and waiting to watch it play out shockhmm will it be a long wait?

Begginyouformercy Sun 18-Aug-13 12:31:30

No, it'll be .... next week (read it in the Radio Times wink)

NuggetofPurestGreen Sun 18-Aug-13 12:55:21

Thanks Ellenora. And Katie told the cops about it there this week, even though they've known for ages about it?

Beggin Declan's sister used to be Judy in Corrie years ago. Megan is it?

Begginyouformercy Sun 18-Aug-13 13:54:30

Ah, that's right - was she not married to Des Barnes? And used to wear her hair on top of her head?

NuggetofPurestGreen Sun 18-Aug-13 13:59:48

Don't think she was married to Des but she did wear her hair curly and piled up on her head. She died of a blood clot while she was hanging out her washing.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Sun 18-Aug-13 14:51:41

She was married to dozy Gary not Des!

Libertine73 Sun 18-Aug-13 14:57:17

Can't wait for Cameron to get busted, slimy bastard!

NuggetofPurestGreen Sun 18-Aug-13 15:01:57

I know Libertine, wish they'd hurry up but there's another couple of months of it isn't there??

Begginyouformercy Sun 18-Aug-13 17:09:54

Oh, yes, Gary (had to google wink). Des Barnes was married to Amelia Bulmore.

qazxc Sun 18-Aug-13 18:43:25

is it alex's? wasn't seth also buried up there?

NuggetofPurestGreen Sun 18-Aug-13 18:45:05

Who is Seth?

qazxc Sun 18-Aug-13 19:01:29

Betty's DP. They had a fake weighted down coffin for the graveyard and buried him up at homefarm so that he could be where he loved. this was year's ago.

It is Alex as Seth would have decomposed too much to be recognised as recent. Also the land has only just been bought so not part of the Home Farm Estate previously

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Sun 18-Aug-13 20:18:47

God I remember Seth & Mr Wilks and Amos...showing my age!

I have watched Enmerdale for years!!

Libertine73 Sun 18-Aug-13 20:19:55

Seth !! grin Everyone would be like...who!!??..on the big reveal!

Libertine73 Sun 18-Aug-13 20:20:56

Amos had the most awesome side burns! would love a pair of them myself.

Begginyouformercy Sun 18-Aug-13 21:39:11

You can have mine, Libertine grin

Is anyone else thinking Betty's looking a bit ... not quite as robust as she did?

Yes, I was thinking Betty is looking a wee bit frail and her speech seems to be less fluent too. Age?

I liked Eli, he could come back

NuggetofPurestGreen Sun 18-Aug-13 22:27:51

Have googled Seth remember him now but didn't watch Emmerdale that much years ago just dipped in and out. Only watching properly the last few years. It's the best one at the moment and I would always have preferred Enders and Corrie historically.

NuggetofPurestGreen Sun 18-Aug-13 22:29:04

It must be Alex though. Just hurry up and wrap up the Cameron story line!

Ellenora5 Mon 19-Aug-13 20:12:56

I can't wait for Cameron to be found out, the sooner the better, I can already see the look on droopy debbies face when she realises he's a murderer, pity Cain didn't kill him, I will be glad when Nikhil is gone, his face is annoying me, and when is everyone going to find out about Jai and Rachel, I would put money on it that it will be the Christmas storyline.

cafenoir Mon 19-Aug-13 20:16:20

Felt so sad for Brenda tonight sad

NuggetofPurestGreen Mon 19-Aug-13 20:28:36

Ellenora Debbie knows he's a murderer, he told her he killed Carl and that he let Chas nearly go down for it. But yes she's in for a shock when she finds out about Gennie and Alex too.

Don't like Nikhil but felt sorry for poor Brenda!

Ellenora5 Mon 19-Aug-13 20:35:59

Oh ye, how did I forget about that, thanks Nugget (memory loss on my part)smile

NuggetofPurestGreen Mon 19-Aug-13 20:39:45

She'll probably be a bit more upset about the whole Gennie thing in fairness!

I also wish that it would come out about Jai and Rachel. So stupid.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Tue 20-Aug-13 19:25:15

Stuff from the car.....dictaphone?!

Libertine73 Tue 20-Aug-13 20:55:10

I know, I felt awful for Brenda tonight. but Jesus Nickeil (sp) is the worst actor I've ever seen, he was on this morning the other day, and he said his Mum is one of the bosses, explains a lot

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Wed 21-Aug-13 08:28:40

I don't know if he is, Nikhil is supposed to be very uptight and not show to much emotion - either he plays it brilliantly or is a shit actor. Hopefully he'll be in something else and I can decide!!!

Nospringchickendipper Wed 21-Aug-13 19:35:27

Why didn't one of his family or friends give Nikhal a lift to the airport?

I love Megan's clothes would love to dress and have hair like her.envy

NuggetofPurestGreen Wed 21-Aug-13 20:28:28

Don't be silly dipper no one ever gets a lift in soaps! Yoi always have to leave crying in a cab.

At least in Emmerdale they have cars on a day to day basis whereas on Corrie the cars just appear out of nowhere when the plot requires it.

Ellenora5 Wed 21-Aug-13 21:02:19

I'm glad he's gone, he never fitted in anyway, won't be long now before Cameron gets caught grin, I wonder will it be Chas who listens to the Dictaphone (why does Dictaphone always type with a capital D). Declan is going to lose everything, I wonder will he go the way of all the others who bought homefarm.

Libertine73 Wed 21-Aug-13 21:07:20

Same as the soap children Nugget where are they the rest of the time?

NuggetofPurestGreen Wed 21-Aug-13 22:04:57

Ha ha good point Libertine. Haven't seen that Angel around in ages and as for Amy in Corrie she's been missing for months!

Nospringchickendipper Wed 21-Aug-13 23:33:21

Its school holidays why are all soap land children not driving their parents up the wall getting under their feet.

I haven't heard one parent mention child care arrangements during the school hols or saying they can't wait for Sept.

Libertine73 Thu 22-Aug-13 04:25:45

Know it's not emerdale but Katie from corrie has now been tanning with Tina, she looks awful! Why are they all insisting on being that ridiculous colour?!

Caine and rhona are married in rl? Never known what people see in him.

mrsdinklage Thu 22-Aug-13 10:49:50

Betty and Sandy watching Breaking Bad - classic - I cried laughing at that grin

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 22-Aug-13 19:55:53

And Lauren in Eastenders Libertine. It's an epidemic.

Are you on the Corrie thread? We've been discussing if Tina's tan can be real as she claims or if it's sunbed/bottle.

(Sorry for hijack - as you were.)

Declan arrested for murder!!

Ellenora5 Thu 22-Aug-13 20:00:41

Isn't the detective one a right smarty pants, her attitude stinks.
Nugget, I think Debbie has been tarred with the same tan as Tina and Katie, wonder is it on special offer grin

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 22-Aug-13 20:52:44

Ellenora Tina's tan is natural okay! I saw her saying it on Twitter yesterday so it must be true hmm

Yeah it's a fairly recent thing isn't it? They weren't all like that before. Debbie looked shocking the other day, the day after the funeral episode when she came out of her house and met Charity and then had to chase Cain to the quarry.

The detective is horrible. Just get on with it and realise it's Cameron please!

lovelychops Thu 22-Aug-13 21:48:34

That detective arresting Declan had huge boobs and they were distracting me!

I wish there were some distraction from the dreadful Rhona story. Why can't she just come clean to Paddy? How is pretending to have a lesbian romance with Vanessa preferable? !

Libertine73 Fri 23-Aug-13 12:14:06

I know! Paddy would be lovely if she would just bloody tell him!? I don't like Vanessa, never have, but what Rhona is doing is cruel.

cafenoir Sun 25-Aug-13 22:13:01

Have just caught up with Thurs/Fri on iplayer. I agree libertine. Why for heavensakes won't Rhona tell Paddy the truth. It's bloody ridiculous. When he thought she had a problem with alcohol he was so supportive so she has no reason to think he wouldn't be the same if she had a problem with drugs. I want to slap her. Am glad the dead Scouser in the woods has been identified finally.

Ellenora5 Sun 25-Aug-13 22:18:44

grin ok Nugget, if you say so, yes thank goodness he has been identified, this is going on way too long. I'm really beginning to hate Rhona, tell him for goodness sake!!!

Libertine73 Mon 26-Aug-13 10:32:25

How will he ever get caught for Gennie though? Unless he 'fesses to everything?

I'd quite happily see Declan get banged up for it though, I don't like him either! (struggles to think who I do like!)

Ellenora5 Mon 26-Aug-13 21:12:46

Libertine, Chas has the Dictaphone now so I presume she will eventually listen to it and it will all come out then, I can't wait till he's gone, he is so creepy. What was with all the tears with Victoria, she dived straight into bed with Adam after Alex disappeared.

Poor Paddy, I felt so sorry for him when he caught Rhona and Vanessa, I wonder can they work things out when he finally knows the truth.

NuggetofPurestGreen Mon 26-Aug-13 21:18:45

Yeah Paddy's face was really sad when he walked in. And Vanessa was so annoying the way she kept trying to explain. I hate when people say 'I never meant to hurt you' or 'we didn't want you to find out like this', as if that makes it okay. Are we supposed to feel sorry for Rhona or hate her? Hate her I assume!

Mrscaindingle Tue 27-Aug-13 09:12:50

Gaaah this Paddy/Rhona/Vanessa storyline is sooo annoying I keep shouting at the screen, just tell him FFS! As if you would let your OH think you were having a lesbian affair rather than being addicted to prescription pain killers it's just so unbelievable.

I am pleased that they are wrapping up the Cameron storyline now however and am quite gripped with it all. Can't wait until Debbie finds out that he killed Jennie. I'm finding Emmerdale much better than Corrie at the moment.

Ellenora5 Wed 28-Aug-13 20:34:05

Ah poor Paddy, wouldn't you love to throttle Vanessa, and her acting skills are dire, I hope she is leaving it soon.

I feel for poor Amy, she doesn't know what to be feeling about Kyle

cafenoir Wed 28-Aug-13 21:02:40

Thank the lord that the drug thing is out in the open. Hopefully this will be wrapped up and Vanessa out on her ear.

And poor Amy.

lovelychops Wed 28-Aug-13 21:31:48

Thought the acting by man who plays Paddy was brilliant.
Please let Vanessa be leaving, Rhona could clear off to I wouldn't mind.
Will Chas listen to the dictaphone soon?

I might have to hide you for a couple of days ladies, on holiday you see, I did catch the second half of today's though, relieved to see an end to the whole Rhona the moaner/evil Vanessa thing. Will catch up with them all when I get home smile

Ellenora5 Wed 28-Aug-13 22:58:08

Enjoy your holiday Everything, have a great timesmile

Nospringchickendipper Thu 29-Aug-13 09:19:00

I thought the scene with Amy and Zac was very touching last nightsad
I can't wait to see to see Debbie's face when she finds out that Cameron has killed Alex and Gennies. How can she stand by him knowing he killed Carl.

Ellenora5 Tue 03-Sep-13 19:52:47

I really don't want to hear Rhona throwing up every five minutes.

What was Cameron up to at the end, was he messing around with the quad bike and what was he doing in the woods. This storyline is getting tedious now.

Aquelven Tue 03-Sep-13 22:36:53

Wish the police there would actually do something right for once & get the right culprit for a change.
I think he was trying to incriminate Adam by planting evidence. As if the police, at least competent real ones, wouldn't have combed the scene already.hmm

Ellenora5 Wed 04-Sep-13 10:15:17

Thanks Aqueleven, ye there isn't much point planting evidence at this stage, he is grasping at straws there, I had to laugh at the mob invasion at Declans house, he can do what he wants they are his houses, I wonder will Steve take over everything now, I really don't like him at all

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Wed 04-Sep-13 19:27:32

Am getting a bit sick of Cameron now, they really need to move it on a bit quicker!

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 05-Sep-13 19:11:34

Oh for God's sake. This is bloody ridiculous.

FREE THE EMMERDALE ONE.

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 05-Sep-13 19:11:44

AND IMPRISON THE OTHER EMMERDALE ONE

Ellenora5 Thu 05-Sep-13 19:39:27

grin Nuggets, too right, it's getting ridiculous now, wonder how long we will have to put up with this, think I'll have a nosey on digital spy

Right, not only would whew have done a sweep of the woods, they would have also checked records of any unusual activity in the village at the time, his van was found burnt out just after ffs! And why have they not realised that there is only one 'mockney' in the villageI not hard to match his voice up and realise he is the same one who made the statement. Fed up with this now. When is Chas going to listen to that bloody recording?

And what is sad Pad doing being nice to Vanessa shock need new stories now!!

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 05-Sep-13 20:12:30

Yeah how come they didn't find the glove the first time they looked?? Very slack. And Cameron's highly suspicious statement framing Adam. FFS.

Also I'm not following the Amy/Kyle thing. She's at a playgroup or something, whose child is that she has that she's pretending to childmind? And I assume that's Kyle there with Denise from Corrie??

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 05-Sep-13 20:17:17

You would think soap writers would know how to pace things. They should have to go on a course. Everyone's always moaning they drag out the stories too long, why don't they listen. They should have had the denouement for Cameron straight after Gennie's funeral. Same over on Corrie, everyone's sick to the back teeth of the Carl and the fire storyline but they won't just WRAP IT UP. It was great that time on Enders that they had to wind up the stolen baby storyline because of complaints (not that it's great that it upset people so much sad) but they ended up finishing it eight months early - which turned out to be the right time!

(Yes I watch too many soaps).

Ellenora5 Thu 05-Sep-13 20:19:48

She had Jack with her at the playgroup, not sure how she wangled that, ye that's Kyle with his granny aka Denise, celeb masterchef and the odd random appearance in stuff smile

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 05-Sep-13 20:33:14

I see. I've somehow missed all that storyline, as I didn't know what was going on with the toy in the bag a few weeks ago. Had missed the whole adoptive parents dying bit.

That's what I get for MNing during the soaps! Wouldn't have to if the soaps weren't so rubbish.

RafflesWay Thu 05-Sep-13 21:01:58

Totally agree with dragged out storylines - time to wrap up the Cameron business now. The Rhona/Vanessa problem and the Laurel carjacking thing just boring - sorry. However I love anything that means we get to see more of the gorgeous Cain! I so would!!! (Moira is one lucky lady but perfect for him!)

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 05-Sep-13 21:27:34

I love Cain. Remember years ago when he had that stupid bowl haircut and he wasn't attractive at all, and then he appeared one day with proper hair and he was GAWJUS.

So envy of Rhona every time I remember she is married to him.

NuggetofPurestGreen Sat 07-Sep-13 14:44:41

Jesus what is Cameron like?! Threatening small children now.

Also the Adam storyline is driving me mad already. I hate storylines about people being framed for crimes they didn't commit. Hate them! Should probably stop watching soaps then

Aquelven Sat 07-Sep-13 15:38:18

Do those police round Emmerdale ever catch the right culprit? hmm
If you want to murder someone, get them to live there first!

NuggetofPurestGreen Sat 07-Sep-13 16:41:25

I know Aquelven I was roaring at the telly when everyone kept saying 'If Adam didn't do it then he has nothing to worry about". WHAT???!!! Cos in soaps no one ever goes down for crimes they didn't commit do they??!

Ellenora5 Mon 09-Sep-13 19:30:31

Pass the sick bucket please, Nicola and Steve (puke), he is such a creep.

RaisingArizona Mon 09-Sep-13 23:21:03

I know Ellenora. He is so cheesy and slimy. Yak.

Wondering how the Amy/Kyle situation will play out. They were sort of hinting at health problems (tendonitis?) with his Grandma tonight. I wonder if it'll turn out to be more serious then that though, so the Grandma actually can't take care of Kyle and somehow Amy will get him back when it comes to him having to be put back into foster care?

I felt really sorry for Cain tonight.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Tue 10-Sep-13 07:01:11

He's ok Raising he can come and sorry with me wink

I hope they wrap up the Adam wild house chase soon.

The whole Nicola Steve thing is probably a bit if revenge didn't Bernice steal the chef boyfriend off of Nicola a long time ago?

How the hell she would explain all the money he's going to give her to Jimmy?

NuggetofPurestGreen Tue 10-Sep-13 19:10:03

I missed half of Emmerdale over the STUPID football. Sick of this now.

NuggetofPurestGreen Tue 10-Sep-13 19:10:42

(PS I know I can just watch it on the player but it's still annoying! Corrie keeps getting moved too.)

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Tue 10-Sep-13 19:11:25

Me too Nugget!!

Well at least Nicola did the decent thing & grassed up slimy Steve!!

NuggetofPurestGreen Tue 10-Sep-13 19:14:40

yeah i turned on just when they were about to kiss and I thought it was real! Ew.

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 10-Sep-13 19:17:32

steve was going to rape nicola! shock so glad she went to Bernice. that bastard!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Tue 10-Sep-13 19:26:03

What did we miss Stephen?

Well he wasn't taking no for an answer that's for sure! I have seen a little spoiler about the end of this story grin

Taking of end of story lines, I HAD to Google the Cameron one to make sure it does end soon, wow!!

StephenFrySaidSo Tue 10-Sep-13 19:42:39

he basically told Nicola she had no choice but to let him have sex with her if she didn't want him telling jimmy about the money he gave her. then he pushed her down on the bed, started kissing her, she was objecting, he didn't stop til Bernice walked in.

RaisingArizona Tue 10-Sep-13 22:02:08

Bloody Steve. Didn't have him down as a rapist. What a bastard. Was v surprised at the Nicola/Bernice stitch up though. Nice one! I went on digital spy to see how the Cameron things resolves Everything. Couldn't cope any more!smile

Yep, that's exactly where I headed to Arizona grin So pleased that the end is nigh!!!

RaisingArizona Wed 11-Sep-13 00:46:47

Can't flipping come soon enough. I think we've been pushed the end of our endurance levels here.

DICTAPHONE!!!!!!

YoureBeingADick Wed 11-Sep-13 19:28:36

award winning acting from jimmy tonight. NOT!

Ellenora5 Wed 11-Sep-13 19:52:34

It's about time the bloody Dictaphone made another appearance

NuggetofPurestGreen Wed 11-Sep-13 20:07:22

Yeah about time. I was in and out of the kitchen, I take it Debbie heard the bit where he smothered Gennie??

Ellenora5 Wed 11-Sep-13 20:27:01

I think so, she heard him talking to her anyway and him saying sorry, it was hard to hear what was being said.

YoureBeingADick Wed 11-Sep-13 20:32:07

yes heard him saying the ambulance was coming and genie very quietly responding a few times then him saying sorry and genie making muffled sounds. but he had told Debbie she had already been dead when he got there.

NuggetofPurestGreen Wed 11-Sep-13 20:39:02

Thanks Ellenora and Dick I was only half watching. Hope they don't drag it out now for another load of weeks!

YoureBeingADick Wed 11-Sep-13 20:47:08

it all looked a bit scary for Debbie at the end of tonight's episode. hope she is able to talk her way out of the house before he works out what is up.

lovelychops Wed 11-Sep-13 20:57:22

Hoping boring things get wrapped up soon.
Is slimey Steve out for good now? Hope so he was terrible.
Anyone take a guess at what could be coming next? Maybe utilise Ashley's new image?
Adam can stay on the run as far as I'm concerned, he has no redeemable features.

RaisingArizona Wed 11-Sep-13 22:33:08

I thought Debbie's acting at the end was really good!!! That last shot of her face when she had her back to psychotic Cameron and was trying a) not to cry and b) to pretend it was business as usual, was pretty convincing.

God I HOPE that's the end of sodding Steve. If he's got his money back then don't see why they would need/want to bring the slimy sod back.

Um, could Ashley and Bernice end up back together? Or is that highly unlikely? I started watching Emmerdale long after they'd split up. Nope, Adam will be back I reckon. There'd be no reason for him to stay away if Cameron gets nicked. Although would it still be a crime for him to have skipped bail if he was found not to be a suspect? Was really gripped tonight smile

YoureBeingADick Wed 11-Sep-13 23:39:43

that whole thing where steve was bitching about Bernice and showing his 'real' side was just so cringey. those taunts at jimmy about using his golf putter and about the handbag and lunches he paid for. it was so shit.

I really hope Bernice fucks off now aswell- I cannot stand her. never could. her voice goes through me.

I thought Debbie was brilliant- I thought she'd lost herself a bit recently acting wise. none of it seemed convincing but she actually looked really vulnerable and young tonight.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Thu 12-Sep-13 18:36:43

It's going to be good tonight!!

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 12-Sep-13 19:04:28

Thank God for that was worried she was going to get murdered there! Very good last night.

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 12-Sep-13 19:28:50

This is stressing me out now. Just play her the bit with the Carl confession!!

Or did she delete it??

She bloody deleted it, stupid cow! It is good tonight smile

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 12-Sep-13 19:53:03

Ah flip that means dragged out for another 50 episodes so no doubt as she's deleted the proof. Arrgh.

Aquelven Thu 12-Sep-13 20:22:06

Can someone clear something up for me please?
Diane is Bernice's mother. Nicola is Bernice's sister, so is Diane Nicola's mother too, as she doesn't seem to call her so?
Is Rodney dad to both of them? Or were there other marriages? I'm confused.

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 12-Sep-13 20:39:53

Just thinking the same Aquelven. Diane isn't Nicola's mother though. But sure everyone in soaps has been married 5 times and has kids with the husband's brother or whoever.

YoureBeingADick Thu 12-Sep-13 20:40:34

Rodney is dad of both but they have different mums. I cant remember who Nicola's mum is. they weren't raised together and i'm not sure if they even knew of each other growing up. and if I remember correctly, they also have a brother called paul who is val's son to Rodney.

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 12-Sep-13 20:40:51

Sorry meant to say yes Rodney is their dad.

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 12-Sep-13 20:42:11

Was just about to say about Paul but couldn't remember if he was just Val's or Val's and Rodney's.

YoureBeingADick Thu 12-Sep-13 20:46:57

i'm watching on skyplanner- umm has diane forgotten why Bernice disappeared in the first place!? she took off with Nicola's fiancé on their wedding day! KARMA!! I don't get where Bernice gets to feel hard done by with this.

YoureBeingADick Thu 12-Sep-13 20:47:43

and where does cain get all his fancy cars?

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 12-Sep-13 20:56:16

I must have missed a bit (I have a tendency to zone out) - what exactly is Cain and Charity's plan to get money? Why does Cain have to wear a suit?

YoureBeingADick Thu 12-Sep-13 20:59:01

I think they used to have a scam going where she pretended to be a prostitute and somehow managed to get their car keys or something and cain made off with the cars. it was a few years ago though so i'm a bit sketchy on it tbh.

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 12-Sep-13 21:06:37

Yeah I've always been an intermittent Emmerdale watcher until a couple of years ago so have missed large chunks. Think they're leading up to a Cain/Charity reunion??

YoureBeingADick Thu 12-Sep-13 21:13:45

yep I think so too!

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 12-Sep-13 22:30:40

Charley Webb (Debbie) just tweeted this:

@MissCharleyWebb: Thank you SO MUCH for all your amazing messages! The truth is OUT! Can't wait for you to see it all unfold over the next couple of months! X

MONTHS???!!

YoureBeingADick Thu 12-Sep-13 22:32:15

thewy'll string this out til xmas ya know! gits! angry grin

Ffs sad sad

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Fri 13-Sep-13 12:52:55

For the love of god confused

Ellenora5 Fri 13-Sep-13 19:45:10

Oh god, this is going to go on forever, and when is Charity going to find out about the baby, have they just forgotten that storyline.

jojoanna Fri 13-Sep-13 20:20:08

oh yeah forgot about the baby!

Nospringchickendipper Sat 14-Sep-13 14:12:59

What made Debbie realise that Cameron had killed Alex, has she any evidence or is just putting two and two together.

jojoanna Sat 14-Sep-13 14:25:21

I think it was when Moira said something about Adam being framed?

Debbie seemed to put two and two together

NuggetofPurestGreen Sun 15-Sep-13 13:04:07

I quite enjoyed the Charity and Cain caper in the hotel. Possibly just because Cain looks so hot in his suit though grin. It was good though properly funny when Jai showed up but without getting farcical.

lovelychops Sun 15-Sep-13 13:51:53

Cain in that suit! Mmmmmm

YoureBeingADick Sun 15-Sep-13 14:00:26

yes nugget! it reminded me of old style cain and charity from back in the day- good fun to watch. they have good on screen chemistry not like her and jai. and yum to the suited and booted cain- although I've liked him since he got with moira and had a moral compass installed.

NuggetofPurestGreen Sun 15-Sep-13 22:03:41

I've liked Cain for ages ever since he got rid of that horrible greasy bowl haircut. Like him more recently alright since he got nicer but not sure I'd like him and Charity back together have gone off her lately. Maybe she's just too boring with Jai. Wish she'd find out about the baby.

YoureBeingADick Mon 16-Sep-13 09:27:39

oh yes!! the baby- jai pissed me off being so high and mighty about charity cheating on him with Declan. he even said 'once a cheater...' to her infront of his dad a few weeks ago and rishi gave him a really funny (to me) look.

I agree, not sure a charity/cain reunion would be good- I like him with moira.

NuggetofPurestGreen Tue 17-Sep-13 19:24:33

God that detective is horrible! Felt sorry for Debbie after she had to sleep with Cameron and she must be just so stressed out.

On the other hand she wasn't bothered when Cameron killed Carl and let Chas nearly go down for it!!

jojoanna Tue 17-Sep-13 19:53:41

I felt sorry for her too.

Nospringchickendipper Wed 18-Sep-13 09:26:53

No I don't feel sorry for Debbie she was willing to stick with Cameron even when she knew that he had killed Carl and she covered up the fact that they where the cause of Gennies accident.

Ellenora5 Wed 18-Sep-13 09:42:21

I don't feel a bit sorry for her, she is a horrible person and she should be charged with running Gennie of the road and covering up the real murderer of Carl and then she should be sent to prison long term and then we wouldn't have to watch her anymore (here's hoping) grin and then Andy could move away with the kids for good, there are no more storylines for him anyway and when he's gone Joanie and Kyle can move into his house and Amy can live happily ever after because she is my favourite smile

NuggetofPurestGreen Wed 18-Sep-13 19:25:14

Yeah I agree really I thought that straight away after. I suppose I meant I felt sorry for her briefly when she was sobbing on the stairs. But overall no - she only cared when it was Gennie that she found out was killed.

I love Amy too. Andy and his fat neck can shove right off.

jojoanna Thu 19-Sep-13 06:45:42

I like Debbie . She feels guilt and she knows what she did was wrong. she is trying to put Cameron in prison now.

Cain is my favourite

Ellenora5 Thu 19-Sep-13 20:34:00

Oh, that was good show tonight girls, I actually had a slither of sympathy for Debbie at the end when she came running out and calling for her Dad.

YoureBeingADick Thu 19-Sep-13 20:50:16

oh me to elenora! I have to say I do love the cain/Debbie relationship.

I love cain too jojoanna

I don't like the detective woman. when she was reading Cameron his rights she was very petty about it- surely they don't get so emotionally involved like that. it was as if he had tried to kill her and she was getting revenge when she was saying that through gritted teeth.

jojoanna Thu 19-Sep-13 20:57:33

Oh best episode for ages loved it! I was like arhh Debbie's calling for her Dad.

YoureBeingADick Thu 19-Sep-13 21:01:39

yes- it's a side you never see of Debbie- she is so hard faced recently- well has been for a long time but when it comes down to it she still wants her dad because she knows after everything he is looking out for her and will be there to recuse her.

That was a good episode! Charlie acted her socks off and was very good, but so was Cain (you can never have too much Cain) I love him his concerned daddy bit smile

Kerry can ftfo with winding Brenda up, she is my new hate!!

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 19-Sep-13 22:44:27

Enjoyed that now. Wonder what'll happen next as I think there is still a few weeks to the 'finale'.

I f&@"ing hate Kerry.

I see they're getting back into the Alicia/David storyline again. Had forgotten all that even though was raging they didn't just get together the last time when Priya finished with him.

Ellenora5 Thu 19-Sep-13 23:28:22

I'm not loving his new hair do Nugget, he's to old for floppy hair wink

They should be together though, they are well suited and she is mad about him.

YourBeingADick (epic user name by the way) I have been saying that about the detective woman, she is a useless actress I think, she hasn't a nice bone in her body, even when she was questioning Declan she was so nasty to him and everyone else

Agree about Kerry, but but but, she is trying to be helpful to Amy, I just hope she doesn't let her down again

jojanna, he is gorgeous, love love love him, and I love him and Moira together, but I have a horrible feeling it's not going to end well

YoureBeingADick Thu 19-Sep-13 23:56:12

yes I have a feeling he's going to muck up with moira over adam or maybe Debbie?

agree about david's hair- I preferred it shorter.

jojoanna Fri 20-Sep-13 07:09:44

Yes David's hair is terrible. Oh I hope it doesn't muck up with Cain and Moira . I love himthem two together.

RaisingArizona Fri 20-Sep-13 10:08:47

Just caught up on iplayer with last night. So relieved about Cameron. Was starting to get beyond frustrating. But surely everything Debbie said to get the confession out of him again, was leading? I'm just praying they don't decide they can't use any of the bugged stuff and release him? They wouldn't would they?
Please let Alicia and David get back together soon. That's going to replace Cameron in things to get frustrated about if they take forever sorting that out. It's ssooooo exciting at the mo smile

lovelychops Fri 20-Sep-13 22:13:14

I'm getting a tad bored of Moira falling out with Cain every five minutes! She's a lucky lady she needs to realise it!

YoureBeingADick Fri 20-Sep-13 22:51:52

Agree lovelychops!grin

I think cameron has confessed to all 3 murders while in custody so they have him now even without the recorded stuff.

Did anyone else think debbie looked a tiny wee bit relieved/happy when the police detective told her cameron believes there is still a chance they can be together? As if she was considering it.

jojoanna Fri 20-Sep-13 23:17:50

Yes lovelychops,,,

Yes she still loves him, she went and looked at the ring she threw away.

NuggetofPurestGreen Sat 21-Sep-13 12:31:30

Ha ha lovelychops you're right I'd never fall out with him! That Rhona is really a lucky lady!

YoureBeingADick Sat 21-Sep-13 14:02:46

Moira!grin

amothersplaceisinthewrong Sat 21-Sep-13 14:07:47

Please can Rhona take a massive overdose and be sectioned well away from our screens. Along with Vanessa.

NuggetofPurestGreen Sat 21-Sep-13 14:44:14

I meant Rhona in real life Dick grin She's even luckier than Moira in the programme.

YoureBeingADick Sat 21-Sep-13 14:56:15

Ahhh! Is rhona seeing cain in RL? I didnt know that grin

Ellenora5 Sat 21-Sep-13 14:58:37

They are married with two kids YBAD, lucky lucky woman

YoureBeingADick Sat 21-Sep-13 15:53:38

Only a stalker would know that wink

jojoanna Sat 21-Sep-13 15:55:43

I will not accept Cain is married to Rhona in RL . No no

YoureBeingADick Sat 21-Sep-13 15:57:39

Isnt david with debbie aswell in rl?

jojoanna Sat 21-Sep-13 16:10:21

Yes they were. Think they may have split up now

Ellenora5 Sat 21-Sep-13 16:28:57

Ye they have split up, I reckon he was jealous of her hair wink

YABD....I like to know about potential Mr. Ellenoras grin, I will be looking out for the word "divorce" on digital spy

jojanna, do you remember Rhona in corrie, she was a nutcase nanny

YoureBeingADick Sat 21-Sep-13 16:40:27

grin @ jealous of her hair!

Whose nanny was rhona in corrie?

jojoanna Sat 21-Sep-13 16:40:43

Oh yes she was in corrie forgot that. She needs to leave emmerdale and join eastenders

NuggetofPurestGreen Sat 21-Sep-13 20:40:26

jojoanna she was in Eastenders already as a copper!

jojoanna Sat 21-Sep-13 21:11:14

Omg ! Well there's only hollyoaks left.

NuggetofPurestGreen Wed 25-Sep-13 19:21:15

Well Pollard's gone and put his foot in it now!!!!

YoureBeingADick Wed 25-Sep-13 19:50:42

do you remember when pollard was a really hateful almost subhuman? and now I love him- ever since Amy he's turned into a really lovely granddad type who has developed a conscience! grin

NuggetofPurestGreen Wed 25-Sep-13 19:57:51

Yeah classic soap personality transformation.

RaisingArizona Thu 26-Sep-13 19:30:17

OhmiGod. What has Amy done!!!!!! sad

Sandancer Sat 28-Sep-13 08:47:46

There was still a hint of the old Pollard when he ripped off poor old broke Edna with her fathers medals.

NuggetofPurestGreen Sat 28-Sep-13 14:11:48

Jesus would Alicia and David not just cop on and get together!

Ellenora5 Sat 28-Sep-13 14:33:58

I know Nugget, it's getting boring now, and Priya is awful, it's time she high tailed it to Canada to help Nikhil with the baby.

I feel sorry for Amy, she is so confused about Kyle, she gave him up in the first place because she was afraid of being like her mother but I think now she realises that she could have managed.

Pegfreak Sat 28-Sep-13 15:00:19

I thought David wasn't looking overly healthy last night.

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 03-Oct-13 19:22:53

Bored of Amy/Kyle story now. Next!!! All of it's a bit crap, don't care about Jimmy and Nicola and the yawnfest about him driving too many hours. Or Paddy and Rhona. Or Marlon and Laurel. Or any of it.

Bring on the Cameron denouement (although that'll probably be crap too).

RaisingArizona Thu 03-Oct-13 22:06:46

Yup, it's going through a dull time at the moment nugget. I don't like Jimmy or Nicola and thus don't care. Paddy and Rhona drug addiction thing been going on waaaaay too long and is waaaaay too boring and also don't care. And Marlon and Laurel. Nope, don't care. Just don't see them as a couple somehow. Rachel and Archie seemed to have fallen into the Bermuda Triangle along with Dom's daughter (who hasn't appeared for so long now that I've forgotten her name) and Gabby.
It's a real yawnfest.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Thu 03-Oct-13 22:13:55

Bloody hell I forgot about his daughter it's been so long!

It's all a bit boring after the Cameron reveal!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Thu 03-Oct-13 22:15:05

I do love Marlon though & think he plays him brilliantly.

NuggetofPurestGreen Thu 03-Oct-13 22:20:10

Felt sorry for Ashley though. Aw.

RaisingArizona Fri 04-Oct-13 08:04:03

Yes, it was sad with Ashley. But I am not a big fan of his due to nasty temper issues and tendency towards petulance. Oh and while we're on to disappearing offspring - what about Alicia's Jakey? Obviously goes to some sort of 24 hour daycare facility with Archie, Gabby and Dom's whatsername.

Pegfreak Fri 04-Oct-13 14:35:51

Can't say I'm missing Rachel or any of the others mentioned, or Cameron for that matter.

I think Pollard should dump whatsername and get together with Joany, Amy's mum should bugger off and leave the four of them to live happily ever after. Five - Andy.

grin there's another one with the St Ella/Eva/Jason juice thing going on.

Ellenora5 Fri 04-Oct-13 16:59:00

I'm really not liking the Andy Amy thing at all, it just isn't right, mind you I can't stand him and think it's high time he was written out of it. Surely to god people would have more cop on than to invite themselves to tea when the main star is a small child most of them haven't even met. Eric is the only one with any sense out of the whole lot of them and why was Diane there, she muscles in everywhere, I know she is Vals sister but she really has nothing to do with Kyle at all. Amy should have told them all to sod off, oh and when Andy is being written out of it could he please take Victoria with him.

YoureBeingADick Fri 04-Oct-13 19:30:05

Aww i really feel for eric!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Fri 04-Oct-13 19:31:37

Oh poor Eric, he was such a shit bag in the past - he's like a lovely granddad now.

YoureBeingADick Fri 04-Oct-13 19:34:27

He really is hokey.

Ellenora5 Fri 04-Oct-13 20:09:49

Ah the tears in his eyes when Amy said that he wasn't her family, and she is blaming him for giving up Kyle. Eric is great with her and now she is throwing it back in his face sad

I had a rather filthy dream about Cain last night, it was most enjoyable grin

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Mon 07-Oct-13 19:16:33

And what about Ashley shouting Edna??

YoureBeingADick Mon 07-Oct-13 19:46:45

grin @ rubber

crazynanna Mon 07-Oct-13 20:11:48
lovelychops Mon 07-Oct-13 23:18:22

Is Ashley going to start hitting old people again? I hope not.

Not interested in the lesbians nor Nicola and jimmy. But I loved the engagement and marlon and paddy rehearsing it beforehand.

Not sure women would be queuing up for Rodney's 'services' ! Urgh.

RaisingArizona Mon 07-Oct-13 23:34:46

Ashley doesn't seem able to control his temper. Doesn't seem to have realised he needs help after how he treated his father and now yelling at Edna. He's really abusive still.

Anyone else surprised at Lisa being such an interfering sort of MIL with Rachel? It doesn't seem to fit the character at all as she's usually sensitive and empathic ? I just can't see her cutting Archie's hair. It's not her. It's like the writer has given her a bit of personality change.

Just wanted to slap Val tonight for just not 'getting it' over Amy/Kyle/Grandma situation.

NuggetofPurestGreen Tue 08-Oct-13 19:33:57

So is Rodney an escort now??!! A proper one ie does he offer extras? (EW)

YoureBeingADick Tue 08-Oct-13 19:39:57

Raising- i agree about lisa. That was so out of character for her.

YoureBeingADick Tue 08-Oct-13 19:41:23

And what about amy/kyle/joni?

Do you think thats it for amy seeing kyle or does she stand a chance of getting contact simce joni has been letting it happen now.?
