Just caught up with three episodes. On Wednesday's, when Chris and Amber were chatting outside the coffee shop/Lassiters, an extra walked past, who looked suspiciously like Scotty...

SpanishFly Thu 30-May-13 15:07:24

KATE: "I thought we were in love!"

Um, you've been on two dates.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 30-May-13 17:51:10

Ooh, good! A new thread!!

Was watching it only today, thinking I'd love to gossip raise important issues about it.

Like what about Kate's complete inability to check out the version of events with the man boy she says she loves before ditching him!! I mean, I know a thread about it in 'relationships' would have us howling LTB but even so...that was a heartless cut off!

Also, loved the mass family fessing up time in the police station!

Suburban Thu 30-May-13 20:40:28

Oh gosh I just need to raise the issue of BAILEY. He is fast replacing Kate as the most annoying Ramsey Street resident. Although something tells me Steph is soon to give him a run for his money!

SpanishFly Thu 30-May-13 20:50:48

I know!! She's IN LOVE with him, yet didn't even want to give him the chance to explain. Even though she clearly loves that he's a bad boy. Jeez.

I also loved the preview for tomorrow's episode, when Lauren basically blames Amber for it all. Finally, a realistic "mum" response to a horrible situation! grin

SpanishFly Thu 30-May-13 20:52:27

And yes, Steph has become horrendous. She's not menacing and sinister, she's just irritating. And she doesn't suit being brunette/auburn

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 30-May-13 20:56:12

Phsycho Steph!

Waiting for her to do some actual bunny boiling.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 30-May-13 20:56:43

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 30-May-13 21:31:32

On an up note, I have just read that Kip Gamblin is due to join the cast soon

Things are looking up!

Suburban Thu 30-May-13 21:43:22

Oh good call. Mason does not cut the mustard.

Does anyone know when Brennan is coming back?

SpanishFly Thu 30-May-13 22:52:48

Brad Willis - Lauren's ex. Sparks will fly! !

Tortoise Thu 30-May-13 22:55:38

I hope that Mason's ex isn't staying. I can't stand her. Can't remember her name now!

decaffwithcream Fri 31-May-13 20:32:52

Brennan is due back during the eclipse, which should be in 2 weeks judging from what Callum said last week when he rang the observatory grin

Which must be why Kate has so suddenly decided she's in love with Mason so the love triangle can begin.

Bailey is a painful, painful character. They write dire lines for him even by Neighbours standards.

And Amber is obviously only in it so because her acting makes Kate look far better by contrast. I can't stand her "little girl" act much longer.

Kate is finally growing on me purely because Lou's family are so so bad. The father is awful too.

Tortoise Fri 31-May-13 20:44:22

Can't wait for Brennans return.

BeanoNoir Mon 03-Jun-13 14:16:04

That's actually the same actress who played Lucy Robinson before, isn't it? How many old characters are they bringing back? I can never remember who knows who from before.

CecyHall Mon 03-Jun-13 14:20:39

We call Bailey 'new Zeke' in this house. I may have said that before though.

FeijoaVodkaStat Mon 03-Jun-13 14:26:36

Forget the dire acting. The new version of the theme song isn't even in tune!

decaffwithcream Mon 03-Jun-13 21:18:06

I don't think Lucy or Brennan are staying long.

There's still Brad Willis to return with his new wife and teenagers. There's a strategy to make it all more about family groupings in the different houses again - presumably that's why poor Lucas and Vanessa have been kicked off the street to make way for a bigger family in their house .

Rumour has it Ajay and Rani might be leaving though. I can definitely live with that.

"new Zeke" grin

ShipwreckedAndComatose Mon 03-Jun-13 22:04:54

Yeah, I seem to have missed just why it is thatLucas and Vanessa are not living in their own house. Knew they were in the hospital but surely they left have they moved into Susan's old gaff??? Why put up with a family living in your house, especially when they were going to buy.

It has been bothering me just how empty the houses seem to be these days! They do need to fill up with characters again. There have to be room for about 5 people each house, I reckon.

SpanishFly Tue 04-Jun-13 14:38:46

decaffwithcream Tue 04-Jun-13 16:43:58

When they realised they would be staying in the hospital accomodation for a bit, Lucas and Vanessa essentially offered their house to Lou's family confused. Because obviously once you have a child, you are dying to move to a much smaller place.

Susan's flat lost a bedroom and has become a one-bed during the transfer process.

They are gradually kicking all the smaller households off Ramsay St...Paul is probably going to land up in Lassiters soon too.

Suburban Tue 04-Jun-13 17:02:50

grin at the new Zeke!

The Amber/Chris storyline is strange, wonder where it is headed....

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 04-Jun-13 17:58:08

Think it must be because he has no other mates in the street and there need sto be a point to him!

Worryingly, There's a part of me that thinks mason is quite hot blush the shame!!!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 04-Jun-13 18:01:29

Thanks decaf! That does make sense, in a neighbours sort of way grin

Tortoise Tue 04-Jun-13 18:09:01

I think Amber has fallen for Chris. Strange sudden friendship though.

CecyHall Tue 04-Jun-13 18:25:17

Yeah totally. I wondered though if he would start to like her back, in a 'oh I'm so confused' storyline.

CecyHall Tue 04-Jun-13 19:18:59

Wtf was that bracelet?

Tortoise Tue 04-Jun-13 19:38:14

I think it will be one sided. Bracelet was horrible (in my opinion that is lol).

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 04-Jun-13 19:40:41

It was very unattractive!

Nothing like a <yawn> misunderstood relationship signals storyline to pep things up hmm

alemci Tue 04-Jun-13 21:52:28

also Lucy used to be slim and pretty as oppose to frumpy and old looking - is it really the same actress who went out with Brad? what happened and she has been played by 3 different actresses already. has she morphed into Rosemary Daniels (is she dead) and remember ghastly Hillary.

decaffwithcream Wed 05-Jun-13 08:43:47

The dominance of storylines involving Amber, Bailey and their family is actually making me look forward to Brad's family arriving. Despite Brad bringing more teenagers. And Brad now looking the complete opposite to his blonde surfer looks Whoever said they were very Home and Away is very accurate. And I have no real hope of Bailey getting extradited off to "Juvey" in Mount Isa unfortunately.

decaffwithcream Wed 05-Jun-13 08:44:47

I should clarify that if he did get extradited I would fully expect his irritating parents to go with him and take Amber.

TwllBach Wed 05-Jun-13 18:48:36

How do amber and Chris even know each other, really?

SpanishFly Wed 05-Jun-13 18:55:04

Twll, I've been trying to remember how they became friends, and just can't think. They're a few years apart and don't have any reasons for their paths to have properly crossed confused

SpanishFly Wed 05-Jun-13 18:56:20

I don't remember brad and lucy going out! I remember him seeing Lauren and Beth but not Lucy. Not doubting it, btw, just I cant remember

Sunflowergirl2011 Wed 05-Jun-13 18:58:30

I thought Brennan had died? Ran off to escape the bad guys, then they got him anyway? I watch neighbours far too much smile

LongGoneBeforeDaylight Wed 05-Jun-13 19:06:59

We never saw Brennan's body though. Remember, Harold died too! wink

decaffwithcream Wed 05-Jun-13 19:07:58

Chris bumped into Amber when she was looking miserable about school (even before all the social media stuff) and bonded with her over his memories of how tough he found school before making friends with Andrew etc. His sympathy with her on that appears to be the basis for their whole sudden friendship.

Mind you friendships happen fairly instantly in Neighbours. If you are of the same age group you will be best friends or sworn enemies. And that's just the adults.

Brennan is meant to be dead so it'll be a shock for Kate. The shock of hearing he was dead caused her to kiss one of her students for comfort so how she'll react to his reemergence is anyone's guess.

Sunflowergirl2011 Wed 05-Jun-13 20:20:42

Good point Long, smile

That bracelet was dire - even the widest of wide boys would be ashamed to wear it!

decaffwithcream Thu 06-Jun-13 18:47:10

We never saw Dee's body either and I'm still waiting for her return (with Ramsay St Amnesia obv).

alemci Thu 06-Jun-13 19:02:36

the love triangle thing between Callum, Ranii and Bailey is so stupid and unbelievable and what teenage boy would want to act in that play. Pass me the sick bucket.

Also Sonya and her kaftan dresses.

decaffwithcream Thu 06-Jun-13 19:06:56

The tweenie love triangle is very Home and Away too. I know they're meant to be 15 but I certainly don't buy it. I fast forward that storyline entirely as Callum is the only one of those 3 characters I have the slightest interest in. I also fast forward Lauren acting little girly and her parents who can't act. It's lucky I have stopped fast forwarding Kate or it would be very short grin

decaffwithcream Thu 06-Jun-13 19:07:50

Also how long do we have to wait for Lou and Shelia to start a golden years romance? They are the only 2 people of the same age so it's absolutely inevitable.

alemci Thu 06-Jun-13 19:17:21

do like Lou though not so sure about Sheila

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 06-Jun-13 21:05:37

Sheila just keeps remaining me of 'Prisoner:cell block H', and for that I am quite fond of her grin

SpanishFly Fri 07-Jun-13 09:06:56

I like Sheila a lot. But Lou turns my stomach big-time

SpanishFly Fri 07-Jun-13 09:07:26

Interestingly Matt's acting gets worse in every episode

Tortoise Fri 07-Jun-13 09:30:13

I like Sheila too. I can't see her with Lou. I don't really know why Lou is there. He doesn't really feature in good storylines.

Clawdy Fri 07-Jun-13 17:56:34

Will the new wicked Steph get her come-uppance??any guesses?

GibberTheMonkey Fri 07-Jun-13 18:29:44

Sheila has really grown on me

decaffwithcream Fri 07-Jun-13 21:58:24

"Interestingly Matt's acting gets worse in every episode"

Yes, I noticed that. It was very unexpected as it was hard to believe it would be possible but he sets a low standard for himself and then keeps defying expectations to get further below it every time.

decaffwithcream Fri 07-Jun-13 22:00:51

Incidentally, that's some job Susan scored as Principal. She was in her new post about 3 days, then went off to her sister, came back for 5 minutes and went off again. confused

AuntGertrude Fri 07-Jun-13 22:27:29

"New wicked Steph"? She has always been a total horror, and has totally ruined I don't know how many people's lives and love-lives.

I think they're running Lucy to deliberately look like Helen Daniels - I like how she is tougher and more important than her big brother now and can whup his ass.

Sheila Canning can stay for a long time, I hope.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sat 08-Jun-13 07:24:32

I noticed that decaf! Can you imagine what would be said if a head did that in England thinks of recent thread about head having two days off

alemci Sat 08-Jun-13 10:24:08

yes Aunt or Rosemary used to look very similar to Lucy's corporate look. a bit of power dressing. A bright coloured jacket - just the ticket.

What about Kate and her teaching skills. What exactly does she teach? She seems to be the only member of staff in the school.

Yes Susan seems to be very flexible as the principal

decaffwithcream Sat 08-Jun-13 11:39:35

I thought of that thread with the 2-day absence by the headteacher too! They trotted out that chap as "substitute principal" once, to tell kate to deal with the twitter furore and then he left her to it. She's going to be pretty busy soon what with 2 love interests, moving house and running a school...

SpanishFly Mon 10-Jun-13 18:45:51

Rebekah Emmaloglou hasnt aged well!!

Tortoise Mon 10-Jun-13 18:49:43

I love that Kate can just take a day off!

decaffwithcream Mon 10-Jun-13 19:47:06

Yes who's left to run the school now? Or even teach in it? I am actually looking forward to the arrival of 3 more teenagers if it means less screentime for Amber/"new Zeke"/Rani's incredibly cringeworthy play rehearsals..

SpanishFly Mon 10-Jun-13 20:33:16

Decaff, a certain Brad Willis is a teacher. ..

decaffwithcream Mon 10-Jun-13 20:41:10

So he is! And doubtlessly he will be instantly hired - God knows there are enough vacancies with the non-existent and absent staff...He and Lauren won't recognise each other (literally, I've seen a picture of him. Disappointing for any of us with fond memories of surfer Brad.)

Now that the eclipse is upon us and Brennan is due to appear during it and be reunited with Kate, I was wondering if they're going to play Bonnie Tyler in the background...

pussycatwillum Tue 11-Jun-13 11:07:45

I have a love/hate relationship with Sheila, but once or twice I've thought 'Wonder if they do that top in England?' blush

Tortoise Tue 11-Jun-13 12:32:48

I've just packaged up an item I sold on EBay, it's going to a Brad Willis! Made me chuckle to myself! grin

Did you see Steph throwing away her anti-psychotic medication? That is definitely going to end well!

GibberTheMonkey Tue 11-Jun-13 14:47:55

Oh he's Scott from H and A

decaffwithcream Tue 11-Jun-13 20:38:03

She could've been a bit less blatant about throwing it in Karl's kitchen bin - as could Amber with her carelessly chucked away pregnancy test on top of Lou's rubbish bin.

squeelybean Tue 11-Jun-13 20:44:26

Hang on a cotton pickin minute ladies who was Rebekah Emmaloglou playing?

What have i missedconfused

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 11-Jun-13 21:01:02

Newbie manager for Lassiters who just happenes to be married to Lauren's 'first love' and ex character from waaay back..Brad Wllis.

And there just happens to be a spare house on the street coming up grin

squeelybean Wed 12-Jun-13 10:21:33

Was that her?

I spent my teen years wanting to be as cute as her, feeling rather smug nowwink

SpanishFly Wed 12-Jun-13 14:37:47

I know!! She was stunning in H&A. What's happened? !

I once saw her in a shopping Center, she was very rude.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 12-Jun-13 17:36:33

Ok, those rehearsal scenes are making me want to vom.

decaffwithcream Wed 12-Jun-13 18:45:55

And they drag on forever. The fast forward button is your friend Shipwrecked. I won't be watching Neighbours "live" until the play is over. Or Rani has left and thus at least removed the whole Bailey storyline thing.

Has anyone noticed that Mason is now employing the "I only have one facial expression and tone of voice" style of acting too? He must be taking tips from his father.

alemci Wed 12-Jun-13 22:23:54

yes as if teenage boys would do that sort of thing and be in a play like that and why do they both like her anyway. aren't there any other girls around.

also Amber in that pink top in the bar and wearing the same top the next day (i think). she is really annoying.

also Brad wasn't exactly brain of Britain if I remember. surprised he is a teacher..

also the age thing is a bit weird. Lauren and him were still teenagers 20 years ago so i think their kids are too old for their ages particularly Mason. more realistic would be Scott and Charlene as they are mid forties. would be more interesting and realistic in a chronological sense to have them back even though they would have different heads

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 13-Jun-13 17:48:15

That's not in the least bit weird....Paul paying for the legal aid for Mason (who he doesn't like) to defend himself against a charge brought by, perfectly normal, that hmm

decaffwithcream Thu 13-Jun-13 18:31:29

There are no other girls Callum and Baileys age in Erinsborough. Not since Sophie left. When Rani goes, that's it. Unless Brad conveniently brings a girl of exactly the right age for them, and a boy of exactly the right age for Amber...

CecyHall Thu 13-Jun-13 19:19:36

Argh this whole Kate thing is pissing me off, I know it's to cause the whole dilemma of Brennan returning but seriously, she's been with Mason for about 2 minutes and she's acting as if they are married for 10 years.

Tortoise Thu 13-Jun-13 19:36:15

There has to be a catch to Paul's offer. I think he will try and make sure Mason goes to jail.

Theimpossiblegirl Thu 13-Jun-13 19:52:27

OMG I thought she looked familiar! Rebekah Emmalogou (sp?)from H&A- of course! I used to love Brad, really glad I saw this thread after watching my first Neighbours episode in years the other day. I'm hooked.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 13-Jun-13 22:14:48

Run! Turn around and run! While you still can!!!

Theimpossiblegirl Thu 13-Jun-13 22:57:11

I'm putting it on the Sky+ box. Will have to delete some of DH's stuff to make room...

Tortoise Thu 13-Jun-13 23:14:05

Teasing advertisement about Mondays episode earlier. Looks very good.

CecyHall Fri 14-Jun-13 19:04:33

I usually watch the 7pm showing on 5* but they've taken it off for stupid big brother so we're having to record the earlier episode to watch at 7. But we've missed todays. So annoying!

CecyHall Fri 14-Jun-13 19:12:20

Oh I've just found it on plus 1!

alemci Sat 15-Jun-13 22:23:35

isn't Lucas upset about Vanessa taking Paddy. Isn't Paddy his biological son and now he is never mentioned. I thought Lucas was desperate to be part of a family etc. wouldn't he try to sort things out?

Steben Sun 16-Jun-13 17:52:03

Officer Matt might as well be made of wood - I don't think I have ever seen anyone with such a lack of charisma.

Mason I can forgive as he is hot - however his ever changing hair is irritating me as is his zoolander style pouting.

Rebekah whatshername - did she get pregnant as a teen and then the father died and she wanted to call it a really weird name?!

Also does anyone else HATE Georgia?!

Tortoise Sun 16-Jun-13 18:53:41

I was going to say about Georgia the other day but forgot.
I cant stand and her annoying voice.

Steben Sun 16-Jun-13 18:57:20

I loathe Kate but part of me thinks she has been made less intolerable by the introduction of the hideous Georgia.

CecyHall Sun 16-Jun-13 19:12:07

Steben- yes I think the boyfriend was called David and she wanted to call the baby Davida but then decided it wasn't fair to the baby I think.

The actor who plays Matt was nominated in the Australian/Asia PETA sexiest vegetarians hmm

Fairygen Sun 16-Jun-13 19:25:38

Is it just me, or does amber look about 25 years old??? She's supposed to be a schoolgirl!

Steben Sun 16-Jun-13 19:29:37

Thanks Cecyhall that has been irritating me!

Pah sexiest vegetarian!

Steben Sun 16-Jun-13 19:30:23

No Fairy she looks older than Kate!

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 17-Jun-13 14:21:32

Brad Willis looks nothing like Brad Willis.

GibberTheMonkey Mon 17-Jun-13 14:35:49

I just choked on my coffee
Mason hot?

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 17-Jun-13 15:03:15

I can't see it myself, Gibber.

alemci Mon 17-Jun-13 16:45:31

he looked more like Robert Carlyle.

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 17-Jun-13 17:36:02

Yes he did! grin

Steben Mon 17-Jun-13 20:21:58

Yes hot blush

Less so when he speaks but surely others agree he is easy on the eye?

GibberTheMonkey Mon 17-Jun-13 21:06:29

Would prefer pretty much any other of the men

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 17-Jun-13 21:34:23

I think I would rank him second-last amongst all the men in Neighbours. Last would be Lou.

First, on the other hand, would be Paul. blush

Steben Mon 17-Jun-13 21:39:16

Lower than toadie shock

Is it Paul's gammy leg?!

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 17-Jun-13 21:42:07

Yes, lower than Toadie. Without a doubt! Toadie would also come above Mason's dad.

I love Paul. I bet he's a great shag too.

Steben Mon 17-Jun-13 21:47:11

To be fair I would shag Paul over toad or the wooden man - but if it was a toss up between those two I would truly be torn.

Suburban Mon 17-Jun-13 21:51:56

I like Kyle, bottom would be AJ.

Not looking forward to Kyle's inevitable slow recovery aided by nurse Georgia though.

Mason is dreadful.

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 17-Jun-13 22:11:59

Karl would come before Toadie, to be fair. AJ would be after Karl, but maybe a bit higher if he didn't talk.

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 17-Jun-13 22:15:20

I think this is my list in order. Have I missed anyone?

Brad (I think, could drop lower)
Mason's Dad

Tortoise Mon 17-Jun-13 22:39:28

While you all have them I will have Brenan! grin.

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 17-Jun-13 22:43:21

Oh Brennan! I forgot him! He would come before Lucas.

In reality, I would prefer to stop after the top three, the rest are just listed in a worse-case-scenario kind of way.

CecyHall Tue 18-Jun-13 06:32:49

There's been no one good to look at on Neighbours since my embarrassing crush Steve Parker left!

Although I suppose if I had to pick I'd have Kyle.

GibberTheMonkey Tue 18-Jun-13 07:28:52

As in Bridget's dad?

CecyHall Tue 18-Jun-13 07:37:14

AnneEyhtMeyer Tue 18-Jun-13 07:42:18

shock Steve Parker??

And to think I was embarrassed to admit my Paul crush!

Steben Tue 18-Jun-13 09:41:35

I don't recall Steve Parker although I did abandon neighbours for a long time before being sucked back in. Urgh Lucas - Lucas toadie and Lou would def be the bottom 3.

If the kapoors are leaving I worry for Karl and his musical ambitions.

Also regarding Kyle and his retina damage - is this really a common problem when it comes to eclipses?!

Brennan is another who could win awards for wooden acting.

Suburban Tue 18-Jun-13 14:09:13

I liked Reese and cough Kyle's cousin, I'm sure the actor wasn't 16....

GibberTheMonkey Tue 18-Jun-13 14:16:23

Do you mean Harley?
You're right he wasn't 16,
He was 15 at the time
Do you feel wrong now grin

leastsaidsoonestmended Tue 18-Jun-13 14:41:10

Does anyone else think that Lucas and Vanessa's acting has been good in amongst all the wooden acting - I find the scenes they do together quite convincing.

Suburban Tue 18-Jun-13 14:44:59

Suburban Tue 18-Jun-13 14:46:53

Yeah I like Vanessa. She's a good middle road between wooden Matt and Sonya's horrendous over acting!

CecyHall Tue 18-Jun-13 14:49:11

I wish Harley's brother Dane was in it longer rather than just covering Kyle actors sick leave. I really liked him.

alemci Tue 18-Jun-13 16:19:57

I liked Rhys. Kyle and Georgia have really annoying, twangy accents and where were his glasses, everyone else had them.

Tortoise Tue 18-Jun-13 16:27:18

Alemci Bossy took his glasses and Georgia ran after her to get them back. In the meantime Kyle got carried away looking at the eclipse. Strange that it was barely mentioned today though.

Suburban Tue 18-Jun-13 17:10:48

Oh I forgot about Dane. They should dump the Kapoors and fill it with Kyle's extended family.

Kate "I spent 6 months trying to find out where he was" umm if I remember correctly she asked the Scottish policeman once then moved straight on I Noah!

CecyHall Tue 18-Jun-13 19:45:58

That son of Brad's is Steph's real life son. Sorry if this is old news but I forgot until today!

Ps. Steve Parker is scrummy, I like that stubbly italiany look!

SpanishFly Tue 18-Jun-13 20:44:17

Alemci you can look directly at the eclipse when the moon is fully covering the sun. So that's what he did, then forgot to look away smile

alemci Tue 18-Jun-13 20:47:02

but wouldn't you be over cautious just in case. I know I would.

decaffwithcream Tue 18-Jun-13 21:56:29

I sit through weeks of a hideously boring tweenie "love triangle" and those godforsaken play rehearsals, Lou's awful family and their even worse acting dominating everything and nothing remotely interesting happening.

I skip one episode and there is the eclipse, Brennan comes back from the dead, Kyle is almost blinded, Brad returns and Steph has a psychotic break and abducts Lucas 's baby.

Seriously how long was that episode??

AnneEyhtMeyer Tue 18-Jun-13 23:11:08

grin decaff. So true. Definitely worth watching on Demand 5.

AnneEyhtMeyer Tue 18-Jun-13 23:12:46

Oh, and you forgot to mention that Lucas proposed to Vanessa again. It was all go in Ramsey Street! Nothing else will happen for months now.

Fairygen Wed 19-Jun-13 06:53:28

I must have missed an episode (or 2)! Where did this ridiculous school 'play' come from? It really is painful to watch!!

SpanishFly Wed 19-Jun-13 08:39:27

Alemci, I'D be more careful, YOU'D be more careful. But on Ramsay Street? Nah.

It was also the fact he was like a child "it'"

I also hated the "20 minutes before" labels on screen. The only time they didn't use it was when it wasn't clear they'd jumped back in time.

SpanishFly Wed 19-Jun-13 08:42:51

Fairy, it was Priya's play. It was written when she was the same age as Rani. So they're performing it as a tribute to Priya.

As an aside, why do I think Bailey has bad breath? hmm

Tortoise Wed 19-Jun-13 13:53:14

Wow, Paul's house has been totally transformed! I'd love their garden.

decaffwithcream Wed 19-Jun-13 14:05:16

I didnt even know Lucas had proposed again Anne! You're right nothing will happen for months.

I love the way Paul's house has that whole sunny room at the back that Paul/Andrew/Kate/Sophie obviously just never went into.

His house has gained an extra room just like Lucas's did when all Lou's family moved into his. And Susan and Karl's house gains a bedroom every time they up their intake of teenagers.

Built like tardises, those Ramsay St houses.

Steben Wed 19-Jun-13 14:40:06

Can I ask where is Susan?!

Tortoise Wed 19-Jun-13 16:40:59

Susan is with her Sister. She was in an accident or something.

AnneEyhtMeyer Wed 19-Jun-13 16:43:34

Maybe they borrowed the extra room from Lucas and Vanessa's flat? That would explain why it was two-bedroomed when Susan lived there but only one-bedroomed now.

TwllBach Wed 19-Jun-13 17:48:43

I'm just watching the eclipse episode now. Mason is making me throw up in my mouth.

TwllBach Wed 19-Jun-13 17:54:38

And the next episode... Why is it edited so badly? And why is mason suddenly acting like a small puppy?

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 19-Jun-13 18:05:06

Wish I had a tardis house envy

Katz Wed 19-Jun-13 19:25:08

Just caught up, 3 episodes.

So they're implying that Brad and Terese had an affair then!

CotherMuckingFunt Wed 19-Jun-13 19:30:22

I'm behind on neighbours atm because I keep forgetting to watch it since I decided to start watching it from episode 1 a couple of weeks ago. I'm ashamed to say I'm up to 156. I'm a sad fucker.

TwllBach Wed 19-Jun-13 20:10:52

What did happen between brad and Lauren then? I think I was maybe less than five years old when it was originally on screen... grin

decaffwithcream Wed 19-Jun-13 20:27:01

He cheated on her with Beth and landed up marrying Beth fairly sharpish after that IIRC.

TwllBach Wed 19-Jun-13 21:36:49

Oh I seeeeeee grin so I'm way of the mark in thinking that pretty soon it's going to come out that mason is brads son?

I'm also wondering if they were trying to sow the seeds for Matt being an abusive husband.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 19-Jun-13 21:53:24

Yeah, I thought they were over playing the abusive hubby bit...especially with Matt's plank acting; it's hard to pick up aggressive, hot headed vibes from mr placid..

decaffwithcream Wed 19-Jun-13 22:00:49

Actually I Wiki'ed it and it was Lauren he cheated with while he was with Beth. They had sex on the beach and eventually Beth found out on her wedding day, jilted Brad at the alter and he started going out openly with Lauren.

The article then says "however Lauren's horse became jealous of Brad and he began gambling" grin

They were on a break, reconciled, broke up and he married Beth.

If my husband was as wooden as Matt, I would be relieved to see any old boyfriend come into view. Even if my horse was jealous.

Katz Thu 20-Jun-13 08:12:02

Decaf - the reason that it all came out was Lauren's period was late and she took a pregnancy test which was negative (hence the understanding mum but when Amber needed a test) and was found to have an STD which Brad then had to tell Beth about!

enialenagem Thu 20-Jun-13 08:35:10

Cother, where are you watching neighbours from episode 1? I would love to watch it from the beginning

decaffwithcream Thu 20-Jun-13 13:40:44

Lauren did make a comment about having a similar scare herself - they are really aiming for flashbacks to the past these days arent they? Do you reckon they have a new writer/showrunner who watched Neighbours as a teenager in the Lucy/Brad/Lauren era?

Youtube has a lot of neighbours episodes eni

CotherMuckingFunt Thu 20-Jun-13 18:37:41

I'm watching it on YouTube. There are some gaps and I've had to skip bits in order to stay awake while cooking (the acting is SHIT!) but it hilarious. I'm totally fascinated by the hair styles.

SpanishFly Fri 21-Jun-13 19:03:06

Rebecca Emmaloglou's acting is bizarre - very forced and faux enthusiastic.

And my favourite bit this week was when the magical new room appeared off paul's dining room. They rushed towards a door in the dining room that's never existed before. They've also never ever mentioned having a summer room. And from the bavk garden, I cant work out where it is in the house. From the front of the house there's no suggestion that there's a room jutting into the back garden...

CotherMuckingFunt Fri 21-Jun-13 19:11:57

I've been catching up today and I've had to tie my hair back to make a stand over all the frikkin over the shoulder/boobs hair owing on. It's bloody hot there people. You should have frizzed by now. And don't get me started on Amber's parting.

CecyHall Fri 21-Jun-13 19:28:07

I think Brennan is quite nice to look at, even though I never thought that before.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 21-Jun-13 20:43:43

grin Spanish! I couldn't work out which house they were in for a while!

decaffwithcream Sat 22-Jun-13 09:56:48

It's terrible discrimination on the writers part against smaller family units. They declared recently they would be getting back to big family groups in the houses on the street and then they kicked Lucas and Vanessa with their one child off, then Paul since he's lost all his children/neices and next I think Ajay and Rani are being written out altogether. Although Thank God for that if we can stop with the horror of that play and the atrocious love triangle...

TwllBach Sat 22-Jun-13 10:19:28

Ooh are rani and AJ leaving?? Eeeeexcellent. I'm seeing rani hopping into bed with bailey, getting pregnant and then having to leave because she won't get rid of the baby and she doesn't want to hurt Callum. Perfect.

Fairygen Sat 22-Jun-13 18:56:52

If I started watching from the beginning, I'd never get anything done!!
I'm loving the sudden appearance of Paul's back garden, and extra rooms/space. Amazing what a lick of paint can do!

Are all the cast's contracts up for renewal soon? There seems to be a sudden surge in terribly forced overacting recently....

CotherMuckingFunt Sun 23-Jun-13 11:27:54

I watch it on my nexus with earphones plugged in while pretending to do doing one handed housework.

Katz Sun 23-Jun-13 19:22:31

Paul did have a back garden briefly when AJ and Priya moved in as there was a fence/boundary dispute which Paul had to pay to put right. Anther neighbours classic moment!

Steben Mon 24-Jun-13 20:01:19

Could Lou's back injury be the path to the golden years romance with Sheila another poster was hoping for?!

EmbroideredCloths Tue 25-Jun-13 22:35:27

Why would anyone choose Bratboy Mason over the super fit super competent Brennan? I mean, REALLY??!! confused

SpanishFly Wed 26-Jun-13 06:37:43

Embroidered neither of them TOTALLY do it for me, but I agree. I was almost shouting at the TV "He IS just a child!! Listen to Mark - he's right!!"

CecyHall Wed 26-Jun-13 07:58:36

Brennan is getting yummier by the day, I don't want him to leave again. I think it's because he has a touch of Yohan Cabaye about him. But yeah, he's the only bit I'm really enjoying just now and even that's for the wrong reasons! Despite all the eclipse 'action' I think it's going through a bit if a dull phase at the moment.

Tortoise Wed 26-Jun-13 08:03:04

Brennan is scrummy! So so much better than Mason. How old is Kate anyway?

AnneEyhtMeyer Wed 26-Jun-13 08:04:41

This is just yet another reason to hate Kate. She is so stupid she can't even see which man is the right one between a child-criminal and a hunky man.

Agree it is going through a dull phase. And Brad's wife is very strange. Her facial expressions don't match what she is saying.

SpanishFly Wed 26-Jun-13 08:22:37

Ugh, Terese is AWFUL!! I was looking forward to her starting - I loved her in H&A. But her extreme overacting is just bizarre.

CecyHall Wed 26-Jun-13 14:25:18

I think part of my problem is that I just don't believe Brad and Lauren are Brad and Lauren. They are nothing like how I think they'd have grown up. And it's so focused on them right now (apart from stupid annoying Kate and stupid annoying Rani) I'm just feeling meh about it all.

Brad was a bit thick, wasn't he? New Brad has shit hair <gavel>

GibberTheMonkey Wed 26-Jun-13 14:39:33

I don't like that they have Brennan a gf. It makes him a bit of a bastard and I don't like cheaters
Still better than mason though

TwllBach Wed 26-Jun-13 14:56:44

Brennan is luuuuuuuuush grin

How old, exactly, is Kate? I'm 25 and I don't think she can be much younger than me. I would feel extremely odd, being with an 18 year old.

alemci Wed 26-Jun-13 14:58:43

yes old Brad was definitely a bit dim. the new one is so up himself. He's not that good looking. I would rather the sketch book contained a picture of the old Brad. also are Lauren's family moving, they have only just got here.

Why would Paul do all those renovations and not charge rent. The house looked ok before and it does seem to have extra rooms.

i hate the way the characters are either career women or work at the coffee shop. There is no inbetween. Therese seems quite selfish and why can't the son help out in the kitchen. Amber is so pushy isn't she

CecyHall Wed 26-Jun-13 16:07:55

According to The Perfect Blend website Kate was born in 1992 so that makes her 21?

She arrived in 2009 and was in year 12 so that's about 17 if its similar to our year 12 so that would work out too.

ladymontdore Wed 26-Jun-13 16:10:47

I've been sucked back in after a year or two of no neighbours (I blame this thread!!). I'm fast fwding lots of the dull new people but what is really confusing me is all the new furniture and kitchens! The hospital, however, still features the one same room / waiting area!

Did they all just change over night and none of the characters mention it or have there been lots of eps with people looking at colour swatches and arguing about sofas?

Which house is Brad in? Which house is Lauren in? Where did Toadie's green fireplace come from, and how come we can now see the kitchen from his living room, I'm sure it used to be down a corridor? Yet to see an ep with Paul's house in, doubtless I'll be even more confused then!

Asheth Wed 26-Jun-13 16:40:13

Paul's house is now brad's house and has grown a room. Don't think we've seen Paul's new place yet.

ladymontdore Wed 26-Jun-13 17:06:36

Oh, that is confusing! Where has Paul gone and why? Did he choose the nasty white kitchen units? It was all dark and tacky cool before. Do we know which bit of the house the new room (the one with the sliding glass doors I guess?) is stuck on to? The garden looks a totally different size to the front of the house!

alemci Wed 26-Jun-13 17:11:05

When did Kate do her teacher training though? do they not need to go through university in Australia. She seems to run the school single handedly.

Paul is currently living at Lassiters. He is going to build some apartments on Lassiters hotel (not sure how this will work), called the Eclipse Apartments, and will live in one of them when they are done. There has been all sorts of shady dealing and uncertainty about the apartments, but they have council approval now.

Paul did get the renovations done on his old house, and Therese is living there as part of her pay package, now she is managing Lassiters.

I officially have no life.

decaffwithcream Wed 26-Jun-13 19:36:20

Lauren lives in the house that belongs to Lucas

However since Lauren's family moved in the front room has never been seen again and they spend all their time in the kitchen area, all sitting on the ikea sofa bed and around the kitchen table.

It is particularly stupid as they have no front door to answer in their set and every person that visits their house has to walk into the kitchen and announce why they didn't knock...

SpanishFly Fri 28-Jun-13 08:50:52

When was the sketch of Brad done?? Was it supposed to be at Mount Isa, ie she'd been thinking about him one day?

Katz Fri 28-Jun-13 09:11:29

Spanish I think so, although I don't remember old Lauren being into art, she was into horses.

SpanishFly Fri 28-Jun-13 11:11:54

I also remember her getting an std from Brad!
It was the first time I'd heard of a laparoscopy grin

Katz Fri 28-Jun-13 13:45:05

She did indeed.

Fairygen Fri 28-Jun-13 19:52:40

Terese's over acting is so distracting to watch. I think the casting team have made a mistake with her and brad, they just don't look like they would be together.

I'm not sure of the point of Kyle's eye sight storyline. Very unrealistic. If I had patches over both eyes I certainly wouldn't be trying to walk around unaided. Mind you, it is Kyle....maybe not so unrealistic afterall!!

decaffwithcream Fri 28-Jun-13 22:47:51

It's all getting quite unwatchable ATM. It's meant to be a guilty pleasure not an annoyance but between Amber/ Bailey/ Matt/ Therese/Rani's play/Kate and the daft storyline about Kyle, who will obviously suddenly experience a total recovery as every disability resolves itself in Erinsborough, there is very little left to watch.

I did enjoy Imogen's demure "Hi Miss Ramsay" act as she waltzed off with Kate's boyfriend though! She's the only promising new character in a while. I hope her resentment at the massive imbalance in her family makes her secretly evil.

TwllBach Tue 02-Jul-13 17:52:06

Where did all masons muscles suddenly spring from?

I especially like the slow mo shots of the Olympic hopeful.

And Imogen's little no sex speech has made me like her quite a bit! But I imagine she will give it away to mason anyway, who will then decide he really loves Kate. Or... We haven't had a teen pregnancy for a while, have we?

I was pretty hmm about Kyle being stupid enough to think it was a good idea to go for a walk completely blindfolded - that is utterly unbelievable, even for him.

Oh - and does anyone think that The Olympic Hopeful is going to ditch his dad as his coach (and break his heart), and then it is all going to go completely pearshaped (the new coach will cause him to i jure himself, or wil offer him steroids or something) and he will have to come back and admit how wrong he was, and beg Brad to carry on coaching him?

TwllBach Tue 02-Jul-13 18:00:40

YY to the walk. Even more shock at the glasses over the massive white bandage.

And today's episode has only confirmed my suspicions that Kate is, in fact, a massive, unbelievable nob of epic proportions.

CecyHall Tue 02-Jul-13 18:27:51

Yes but Georgia's 'I know best' face is pretty annoying. Although Kyle can't actually see it. It's really making me dislike her and I did like her before. (Haven't watched today's yet)

Asheth Wed 03-Jul-13 13:11:28

Everyone making decisions for Kyle is making him worse I think. His brains not been effected. And people who are blind do live independent, productive lives. Now I know that Kyle is newly/only temporarily blind, but even so there must be things he can still do. Perhaps if they asked him what help he needed instead of telling him all the time he might be a bit more sensible.

moisturiser Wed 03-Jul-13 17:03:10

Ooh a Neighbours thread!

I'm not liking Therese, sorry but she's not a good match for Brad.

Why are all the new actors impossibly pretty? It's hilarious.

I hated Steph's recent storyline - so offensive to those with mental illnesses (I may be getting a bit carried away, I do remember it's a soap but still - you're mad therefore you steal other people's babies?!)

I'm desperate for annoying Kate to get back with Brennan, he's just so gorgeous. I'm appreciating Mason too though for his gorgeous eyes, funny as I thought he wasn't remotely attractive a few weeks ago.

I think it's hilarious that Rani and Ajay are the happiest they've ever been, never mind the fact that Priya just died. They're seriously unbothered!

GibberTheMonkey Wed 03-Jul-13 17:05:06

I liked mason for the first time when he had a go at Paul

I miss Rhys' dryness

AnneEyhtMeyer Wed 03-Jul-13 17:55:35

Brad used to be completely laid-back and quite dim. Now he has turned into a control-freak. Maybe it happened when he dyed his hair brown and changed his face.

I love how people get over the loss of a loved one in 'Neighbours'. They rarely cry even at the actual event, and within a couple of weeks they forget all about them. Same with any kind of heartache. Jade left, Kyle was distraught, and then he met Georgia about a month later. Jade? Who's Jade? The emotional depth of a puddle grin

amothersplaceisinthewrong Wed 03-Jul-13 19:01:35

Where is Mark Brennan now?

TwllBach Wed 03-Jul-13 19:11:54

I'm sorry... I'M SORRY but did Susan actually just offer Kate time off because she broke up with her boyfriend??

I just cannot get over the school and Kate.

Head in.

TwllBach Wed 03-Jul-13 19:28:04

CecyHall Wed 03-Jul-13 19:41:09

For a nurse Georgia is really fucking bad at knowing how people are feeling when they are ill. She has such an annoying sulky face.

decaffwithcream Wed 03-Jul-13 20:19:33

I thought the offer of time off to mourn the end of her relationship of a few weeks with Mason was pretty generous too. Until you remember it comes from Susan who had weeks off as soon she started as principal to keep her sister company in hospital.

I think Mark Brennan has returned to the incredibly deluded or forbearing girlfriend who he left temporarily to see if Kate would have him. The one who was ringing his hotel incessantly. And knew he was off checking if he could get Kate back before he settled for her. She must be blinded by his ever increasing hotness.

decaffwithcream Wed 03-Jul-13 20:22:23

Kate goes for recently widowed fathers, boys who are young enough to be her students or guys with girlfriends. Despite the fact that every male in the vicinity is meant to fancy her. She has commitment ishoos.

alemci Wed 03-Jul-13 21:32:22

Georgia's voice drives me mad. She has a really bad affectation and her voice goes up and down.

Kate a history teacher. I thought she was a dancer. when did she do a degree? last time i watched neighbours she worked in the coffee shop. Why would Mason like the new girl who has been here for 5 minutes and Amber is so pushy?

Yes Brad was really dim and was quite tall. This bloke is a shortarse and a bit mullety.

AnneEyhtMeyer Wed 03-Jul-13 21:51:55

Kate has the amazing ability to become more loathsome with every episode that goes by. I really struggle to understand why she is in the show.

anonacfr Wed 03-Jul-13 23:15:13

Apparently she's a 'fan favourite'. Where are they? Who are they?

KittyMcAllister Wed 03-Jul-13 23:23:29

Agree that Kate is an utter and profound annoyance all the bloody time; does anyone remember her hilarious short-lived career as a dancer...who couldn't actually dance? I cannot think people actually like her, and why would so many attractive men fancy her? Kyle & his grandma are about the only decent characters at the moment. I'm reserving judgement on the new family but at least they can slightly act, unlike Lauren et al.

AnneEyhtMeyer Thu 04-Jul-13 13:56:10

Bloody Kate protecting her own arse again. I bloody hate her.

oaks56 Thu 04-Jul-13 14:00:58

Since when did lou have another daughter?? Did i miss thathmm

AnneEyhtMeyer Thu 04-Jul-13 14:08:32

I can't remember this one at all. He had Lolly, but wasn't it discovered that she wasn't his?

TwllBach Thu 04-Jul-13 14:09:38

Oh I forgot about Lolly!!!! Why do I think she was Cheryls after Cheryl got pregnant by someone she was held captive with?

AnneEyhtMeyer Thu 04-Jul-13 14:14:02

Lolly was Cheryl's. Can't remember who the real daddy was, but I remember it being a big deal when Lou found out she wasn't his.

Have just looked on Wikipedia and it does say he found out about having a daughter called Ling Mai from a past relationship when he was with Cheryl. So she must be older than Lolly.

Suburban Thu 04-Jul-13 15:37:14

Yes Lolly was Cheryl's from when she was held captive in Equador where she went to rescue Brett. Wouldn't put it past them to bring her back actually reckon she would be about 17 now.

Whoever said Bailey is the new Zeke. I am starting to think Kate is the new Libby!

AnneEyhtMeyer Thu 04-Jul-13 16:11:35

At least Libby actually went to university and qualified as a teacher!

alemci Thu 04-Jul-13 16:53:43

zeke was nice, bailey is spoddy.

remember when lou got it on with annelise Hartman smile

amothersplaceisinthewrong Thu 04-Jul-13 16:55:28

Kate has the flattest chest I have ever seen. Very odd shape she is.

TwllBach Thu 04-Jul-13 18:24:31

Yeeeees I agree Kate is very odd looking.

Who is Brett and why does his name sound familiar...

Cheryl bein gheld captive in Ecuador was possibly one of the most mental storylines in the history of Neighbours grin

Kate did go to university - for about 10 minutes.

TwllBach Thu 04-Jul-13 18:52:41

Until she shagged a student. With apparently no legal ramifications. <slow claps Susan Kennedy>

Maybe Kate missed the 'Why it isn't a good idea to snog the face off your students' module?

anonacfr Thu 04-Jul-13 19:41:03

I really don't get why we are meant to love Kate, she's a horrible person!

Not only did she snog a student but she knew her sister was in love with him. When Brennan left she had a massive go at sister again. She basically asked Sophie to leave everyone she knew behind and got offended when Sophie actually hesitated.

She also actively pursued Kyle when he was happily in love with her 'best friend' and she shagged him when he was in relationship with her 'best friend'.

She's also a nosy busybody.

alemci Thu 04-Jul-13 20:16:55

yes she seems to jump into bed with anyone plus she's meant to set a good example as a teacher

decaffwithcream Thu 04-Jul-13 22:19:17

My theory is that Kate's fan base stems from the days when she was in The Sleepover Club. The children who watched that growing up would now be Neighbours fans - Rachel and Janae were main characters in it.

The Kate as a dancer scenes were hilarious grin - I loved the one where she blew everyone away by dancing with a top hat and got given her own company to train but suddenly decided to stay with teaching so just gave it all up.

Lou must be heading off again soon and the suddenly remembered daughter will be the new excuse.

Toadies next excuse will be to go off and save Steph from returning to prison as he will be the only lawyer in Australia who can...

Canidae Fri 05-Jul-13 11:02:02

Bossy is the best actor. In fact I think Bossy should be in Rani's play.

Fairygen Fri 05-Jul-13 18:49:53

Kate...Why does she continue to sleep with/ attempt to seduce other peoples boyfriends, and then acts like she's all sweet and innocent?

Has she not got the message that the only way she can get Kyle into bed is if he's blinded!?

I don't mind Georgia, although when she first started, she was a ditsy, hyper, slightly weird country bumpkin. She's a completely different person now.

At last the school play is nearly over. Rani seems to have quickly forgotten about her mothers death choosing instead to have a heart to heart with Sonia about Callum!

TwllBach Sat 06-Jul-13 17:16:56

Because she is a noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooob.

I cannot express how much I hate her and all the story lines she is involved in.

Hatehatehatehate HATE.

decaffwithcream Mon 08-Jul-13 18:51:57

I liked original Georgia. Georgia version II is just annoying though.

Steben Tue 09-Jul-13 21:47:19

Are Imogen and swim boy twins?! When will the kapoors leave? When will Kate just do one to Sydney with the rest of the Ramsays?

SpanishFly Wed 10-Jul-13 15:53:48

The gym is back!!

decaffwithcream Wed 10-Jul-13 18:22:41

The kapoors have finished filming their last scenes so shouldn't be too long. Although Rhys finished filming before Christmas and it nearly Easter when he died on UK tv!

There was yet another false alarm when Brennan suggested he and Kate move to Sydney to be with her siblings. They love to raise our hopes. . .

decaffwithcream Wed 10-Jul-13 18:25:20

Yes, they obviously aren't casting on family resemblance. As Imogen said "only our mother can tell us apart" grin

Wonder when Brad's third child shows up. Whenever Mason and Kate have got back together, so they need a new third player for their love triangles, would be my guess.

Fairygen Thu 11-Jul-13 09:04:37

What is going on with Imogen and Amber's hair?? They have the strangest pigtails and partings combo I have ever seen!!

KittyMcAllister Thu 11-Jul-13 17:45:00

Does anyone know if the delicious Mark Brennan is going to be in it again or were those few episodes it? Seems a bit strange to bring back just for that.

Steben Thu 11-Jul-13 19:48:27

Have I missed something regarding the Harold's purchase - didn't she buy it yesterday how has she done the renovations everyone is talking about - and it look exactly the same!!

decaffwithcream Thu 11-Jul-13 20:03:35

Therese only has one mode at the moment, shouting intensely with hair tossing. It is dead annoying.

And we are not done with the incredibly boring love triangle between Callum, Bailey and Rani. Does anyone care about that?

Fairygen Fri 12-Jul-13 07:47:33

I thought all that Callum, Rani rubbish would be over after the end of that god awful school play.

steben, exactly! All I noticed was a few new chairs. How did the sale go through so quickly?

On a good note, we haven't seen too much of Kate over the last couple of days.

alemci Fri 12-Jul-13 09:34:15

Also thought Callum was so pathetic about Ranni never talking to Bailey. I think it would have been better to put Imogen in that year rather than being a twin with her brother which i don't think is the case.

Can't stand stereotype career woman Therese and don't they have a private office rather than using Charlies. No wonder everything gets out.

Kate needs a slap.

do blokes really 'share' like Lucas and Mason at the garage.

Clawdy Fri 12-Jul-13 22:50:29

Anyone else hate those Aldi koalas??

scrappydappydoo Fri 12-Jul-13 22:57:54

Anyone think that Lauren's response to the news that Mason and Imogen were dating was a not so subtle implication that it could incestuous e.g Mason is in fact Brads?? or was it just bad acting?
I'm sadly addicted to Neighbours but i'm getting a mite fed up of plot lines centering on married couples keeping things from each other and then secret is accidentally blurted out by innocent 3rd party - yawn - couldn't care less...

alemci Sat 13-Jul-13 11:56:27

yes I hate koalas and their horrid accents. remember the contrived bbq advert before.

AnneEyhtMeyer Sat 13-Jul-13 14:12:42

I prefer the koalas to Kate, Rani, Bailey, Therese, Brad and their family. More believable acting.

decaffwithcream Sat 13-Jul-13 19:57:53

That is exactly the list of bad actors I would choose with the honorable exception of Imogen who seems better than the rest of them. i dont hold out much hope for her though. Mason started off ok but obviously acting all those scenes with his family and Kate dragged him down to their level.

Lauren and her husband are dire too. Whenever they start their big reveal over her having feelings for Brad or whatever it is, there are going to be dire scenes of dire acting as the main storyline daily.

alemci Sat 13-Jul-13 21:18:04

bring back Lou soon please.

also Toadie isn't too bad.

what happened to Paul's newspaper where Susan used to work. love the way she walks in and out of being a principal at the school.

bet Brad will end up teaching there after being dumped by his son.

decaffwithcream Sat 13-Jul-13 21:23:24

Brad will definitely land up teaching there.

Where is Lou? Gone to see the daughter he suddenly conveniently invented?

SpanishFly Sun 14-Jul-13 19:13:29

Did anyone hear Matt's "strewth, it's expensive in here" line? It was THE most wooden line yet

Katz Sun 14-Jul-13 21:51:18

making mason Brads would be some serious history re-writing, Lauren remained in Erinsborough for a t least 3 or 4 months after Brad and Beth left. She also wasn't with Brad for a while before that, would have to have been one of those 'i didn't know i was pregnant' pregnancies.

Asheth Sun 14-Jul-13 22:28:34

It wouldn't be the first time Neighbours rewrote history. Kate, Harry and Sophoe rewrote everything we know about Neighbours History! And I'm sure Sonya wasn't originally introduced with the plan of being Callum's mum! So anything's possible!

SpanishFly Mon 15-Jul-13 07:32:23

Yeah they'll rewrite it that they had a one night stand after he left.

KittyMcAllister Mon 15-Jul-13 17:16:48

Just seen the preview of tomorrow's episode - could it be true fellow Kate-haters? Is she really leaving for Sydney?!

Fairygen Mon 15-Jul-13 17:21:35

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, don't think I could take the disappointment!!!! Any chance she could take Therese with her??

Lucas is on The Wright Stuff tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Suburban Mon 15-Jul-13 23:05:59

Talking of Lucas. What has happened to his Cancer???

I don't hold out high hopes for Kate going. They haven't show hotbed a possible replacement in for her yet. Maybe she is going to win Brenan back ?

Suburban Mon 15-Jul-13 23:06:49

Hmm show hotbed = shoe horned hmm

AnneEyhtMeyer Tue 16-Jul-13 00:01:44

I think the cancer storyline is back shortly. He leaves soon.

Tortoise Tue 16-Jul-13 00:16:55

I'm actually finding Neighbours a bit dull at the moment. Only just realised I missed today's episode!

CecyHall Tue 16-Jul-13 05:22:50

Is Lucas going to leave by dying do you think?

KittyMcAllister Tue 16-Jul-13 09:22:27

Didn't realise Lucas was leaving. Can he take Vanessa and her insufferable cupcakes with him?

Asheth Tue 16-Jul-13 11:20:43

I hope he takes Vanessa as well. Not because I don't like her, but because it would be nice to see a happy ending for Lucas. And I don't want Vanessa to end up like Leah in Home and Away where every man she falls in love with ends up dead!

decaffwithcream Tue 16-Jul-13 20:08:19

That's a shame, he's one of the most likeable characters on it. And there are so few good ones. Hope he does leave with Vanessa and baby, very unrealistic if he suddenly goes off, leaving her as a single parent and never sees his child ever again..

Great the way Kate can take yet more spontaneous leave.

Handy that Brad is now unemployed by his son and free to take up a teachers post...

NicknameIncomplete Tue 16-Jul-13 21:22:26

Asheth - i wish leah would find a man & for her to be happy.

Back to neighbours. As for lucas i think he will die. Cant see him just leaving and not seeing vanessa and patrick.

qazxc Tue 16-Jul-13 21:28:41

ooohh Callum is turning to the dark side.
When he said to Rani "you're like your mum, you're not happy just having the one boyfriend...". I was shouting at the telly "well you're like your dad, an abusive little shit!". (the biological dad, not toadie). I am aware that i might need to get a life.

TwllBach Tue 16-Jul-13 21:35:41

I am also a bit <yuk> at how they are messing with Callum. Although if we could have bailey die that would be no hardship as far as I am concerned. He appears to have taken lessons from the Robert pattison school of acting whereby you talk in a very hushed manner.

alemci Tue 16-Jul-13 21:38:17

can't understand what they see in rani. she is irritating.

Suburban Wed 17-Jul-13 07:34:30

So is that it for Kate? Or will she return with Brennan maybe?

qazxc Wed 17-Jul-13 10:22:44

all the teenagers are irritating (esp rani and bailey), but i have to admit that even i feel sorry for rani with callum being so controlling and emotionally abusive.

alemci Wed 17-Jul-13 11:21:16

also I would have thought her dad would be more protective of her. he is very blase about things.

Katz Wed 17-Jul-13 18:07:06

Where have Nell and Patrick disappeared too?

Clawdy Wed 17-Jul-13 22:15:21

Who is Sonya's uncle? have I missed something? is he not what he seems?!

Sonya's long lost uncle was cuddling Nell yesterday, Katz.

Katz Thu 18-Jul-13 19:08:07

Ah, a lesser spotted Nell moment! I love that often Vanessa and Lucas are out and about without Patrick and ditto for Toadie and Sonya with Nell, yet no mention of childcare or where their baby is! At least when Ben was little there was mention of nursery.

BeanoNoir Thu 18-Jul-13 20:26:51

Wtf with the sexual harassment workshop? 'Let's role play sexual harassment' ??????

Yes - that has to be the strangest Neighbours moment in living memory. Baffling.

BeanoNoir Thu 18-Jul-13 20:45:01

And why why why do Toady and Sonya have their lounge arranged so that the fireplace is behind the sofa and said sofa is also pointing away from the television. Surely no one would arrange their sitting room like this?

CecyHall Thu 18-Jul-13 20:53:31

They're brewing up for a Paul/Therese affair surely? They hate each other, they've touched each other, casual mention of previous affair.

Tortoise Thu 18-Jul-13 21:58:25

I hope there isn't a Paul/Therese affair.
I'm a bit confused by the sudden 'uncle' appearance. I'm guessing something is not quite right there!
Nell is so cute.

Urghhhh to the idea of a Paul-Therese affair - in fact urghhhh to the mere thought of Paul having sex - he's too oily and repulsive for words!

BeanoNoir Thu 18-Jul-13 22:48:30

I think 'uncle' is 'dad'. It's not particularly shocking or careworthy though.

And who bloody cares about Rani/Bailey/Callum?

AnneEyhtMeyer Fri 19-Jul-13 07:20:54

Paul is sex on legs. Well one leg. He could do much better than annoying Therese. Me me me

KittyMcAllister Fri 19-Jul-13 08:11:19

I also thought there might be something funny about Sonya's uncle, maybe abuse or something from her childhood? And Paul - yes he's slimy and a pig but I still would!

alemci Fri 19-Jul-13 11:35:52

the sh workshop was a joke. as if you would do something like that inhouse. therese was showing alot of cleavage and sheila needs a slap. too cocky.

also why do we never see the kenedy house, wouldnt brad want to reminisce and no menrion of pam or doug and what they may be up to.

defo something odd about Sonya' s uncle

Katz Fri 19-Jul-13 13:21:12

Not seen this episode yet. Normally watch with my DDs who are 8 and 10. Is it worth accidentally deleting this one and not letting them watch?

KittyMcAllister Fri 19-Jul-13 13:50:43

Yesterday's episode has a "hilarious" sexual harassment seminar where Paul behaves inappropriately towards Therese but it's quite tame stuff Katz. Nothing has come out yet about Sonya's uncle so nothing to worry about there.

decaffwithcream Fri 19-Jul-13 21:46:55

I think the episode where Bouncer dreamed he was marrying another dog was the most bizarre still. It's pretty hard to top that.

They are obviously trying at the moment though.

Steben Mon 22-Jul-13 15:08:05

Crickey just catching up on neighbours from last week - I think an affair could be on the cards between Therese and Paul. That sexual harassment thing was v creepy IMO.

BeanoNoir Wed 24-Jul-13 15:10:09

Why are Sonya and Vanessa never in a state because they got barely any sleep the night before? I've got a nearly 2 year old and still have days like that.

Steben Thu 25-Jul-13 13:22:46

A bigger question is why are Lucas and Vanessa suddenly in financial dire straits when two mins ago they were planning to put in an offer for Harold's.

alemci Thu 25-Jul-13 14:16:35

had to laugh when Kate may be doing more study. when did she do uni in 1st place. never seems snowed under with teaching prep etc

AnneEyhtMeyer - I am blaming you for the fact that I had a sexy dream about Paul Robinson the other night! <<shudders>> grin

AnneEyhtMeyer Thu 25-Jul-13 19:32:36

You are a very lucky lady, SDTG! He's amazing, isn't he? wink

Lol - yes! grin

Steben Fri 26-Jul-13 19:25:52

I think wooden Matt significantly improves without his top on grin

CecyHall Wed 31-Jul-13 19:22:19

Have you ever had a partner/ex that you only ever refer to by surname?

I know Brennan was in the police and that but I'm sure Kate didn't used to constantly call him Brennan all the time and everyone else doing the same?

scarlet5tyger Fri 02-Aug-13 20:17:44

I wondered that about Brennan too.

And why do those babies ALWAYS have hats on? Especially indoors? Even in the UK you're constantly reminded to take outdoors clothes off the minute you come inside, and they're in Australia!

Rummikub Thu 08-Aug-13 18:36:14

Does anyone know what happened with sonya and uncle Walter? Missed it for a few days. Last I saw he stole money from the nursery < need to know! >

Uncle Walter wasn't Walter nor was he her Uncle. He was a bloke called Dave who met Sonya's actual Uncle Walter in a halfway house, and listened to Walter talking about Sonya and Jade - hence knowing so much about her childhood - and then he decided to come and scam Sonya.

He did come back and own up, and returned the money from the Nursery, but Sonya is absolutely devastated, because she thought he was a real connection to her past, and it was all a lie.

Rummikub Fri 09-Aug-13 12:13:07

Oh thank you for that explanation. Makes sense now. Saw the one where sonya was devastated. Wonder if she'll start drinking again hiding it in the new sports bottle??

I think she is going to become addicted to exercise.

Incidentally, I have just spent some happy hours catching up on back episodes of Neighbours, because I have been on holiday with my mum and sister, who are both far too superior and intellectual to watch Neighbours! The closest I got to an Aussie soap was watching Test Match Special with them - oh the fun!

The rest of the holiday was spent going round Neolithic sites (we were on Orkney and they are both archeology fans), and watching them do the Guardian crossword together - I can't get my head round the cryptic clues, so I FB'ed and MN'ed on my iPad whilst they got on with their Higher Intellectual Pursuits.

Rummikub Fri 09-Aug-13 13:35:53

I love neighbours and it's the only programme I schedule time for <sad>. Used to watch it at uni too.

I don't understand cryptic clues in crosswords either. If I can get a couple right I do feel v proud!

alemci Mon 12-Aug-13 14:47:51

what was with Laurens cardi today, truly hideous

Maybe she has upset the wardrobe department!

I'd like to know where Lucas is going to lay his hands on over half a million Australian dollars - there was no sign of him talking to the bank or trying to get a mortgage, so how is he actually planning to pay for the apartment. And how hard is Vanessa going to kill him?

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 12-Aug-13 21:57:52

A couple of weeks ago Lucas had no money. Where has he got A$500 000??

He hasn't even put his house on the market, and I bet Ajay's house will be put up soon too. Or will he rent it out to Lauren?

alemci Tue 13-Aug-13 16:52:10

also that rude bratty holly needs to be put in her place.

She has a child-of-evil vibe going on, doesn't she.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 13-Aug-13 18:10:39

who is Holly-child-of-satan???

Karl's love child? Is that supposed to be a british accent?

I've been away grin

AnneEyhtMeyer Tue 13-Aug-13 18:15:30

Yes, Holly is the child of Karl and Izzy Hoyland. She has been living in London.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 13-Aug-13 18:19:52

Is she over for a visit or a more permanent stay?

I'm loving devil child's Holly's accent.

She is supposedly over for three weeks whilst her mum is away with her new man.

Steben Wed 14-Aug-13 12:41:35

I know little in neighbours makes sense but why the hell don't Lucas and Vanessa just move back to Ramsay street?! It makes no sense them renting, whilst renting Ramsay street which they bought as a family home for Patrick (and bizarrely Lou) - what possible logic is behind them buying a lassiters apartment?! Madness

Clawdy Thu 15-Aug-13 22:37:23

Sonya looked enormous when she was on that exercise machine. Has she put a lot of weight on?

mamapants Fri 16-Aug-13 13:31:55

Just thought I would bring my latest discovery to your attention. Was browsing amazon when I discovered you can actually buy dvds of the whole thing every episode from the beginning!!
I sadly really want to order the first one.
Especially as they keep bringing people back that I only just remember vaguely.

NoCokeBottleWithMyName Fri 16-Aug-13 14:08:29

I thought Karl wasn't really the father of Holly...

KittyMcAllister Fri 16-Aug-13 14:27:52

Ooh what do we think is wrong with Kate? Something that will finally take the smug, self-absorbed smirk off her face?! I agree Sonya sometimes looks huge, I think she just dresses really badly.

Fairygen Fri 16-Aug-13 14:33:14

What was Kate thinking???? She thinks she might be pregnant so, (instead of doing what any sane person would do and buy a test), she runs to Kyle to tell him! And blabs to Georgia...

Then she insists on discussing how they got away with in, within earshot of Georgia in the coffee shop.

mamapants Fri 16-Aug-13 15:16:16

And was Karl's affair with Izzy only 8 or 9 years ago? I thought it was way longer than that. I'm sure I wasn't in uni when that happened.

KittyMcAllister Fri 16-Aug-13 16:04:05

I think he had a one-night-stand with her a few years after the initial affair, she drugged him or something?

Why did Susan send Holly to clean the couch with something that was not nail varnish remover?
And why is Sonia looking huge?
Is she pg in real life?

I think Kate may be going through early menopause? Surely they wouldn't have 2 characters going through cancer at the same time.

Clawdy Mon 19-Aug-13 10:27:53

That's true. Also they did similar storyline with Steph. Hmm.

Fairygen Mon 19-Aug-13 11:13:06

The illness storylines are always terrible, Lucas was in a paralysed and in a wheelchair...for about 3 episodes, Susan supposedly has MS ( Or something similar) but you never hear a word about it, you never saw Steph or Lucas having any long chemo treatments or side effects to their treatment.

Is there only one doctor in the whole hospital? No matter what the illness is, Karl is always the doctor giving the diagnosis, treatment etc. Do they not have any specialists or surgeons?

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 19-Aug-13 14:05:11

Gutted that Kate hasn't got something fatal.

KittyMcAllister Mon 19-Aug-13 19:53:35

Me too Anne. Now we will have to endure angsty, martyr Kate as she "comes to terms with things." Joy.

Mason has a constant look of surprise on his face, what will he look like when she tells him?

CecyHall Mon 19-Aug-13 20:21:26

Have the Neighbours writers been watching How I Met Your Mother? Kate/Robyn sleeps with man she shouldn't (Barney/Kyle), thinks she's pregnant, goes to doc who decides to do more tests (instead of just saying false alarm) and finds out something wrong. Almost exactly that same!

qazxc Mon 19-Aug-13 20:59:44

oh bugger i was hoping for a highly aggressive and deadly disease, now we will have to put with her "angsting" for months, ie: Will she break up with her dullard of a boyfriend because she can't reproduce with him? although if you ask me Darwin is high fiving himself on that one

amothersplaceisinthewrong Mon 19-Aug-13 22:02:59

I prefer Kate to Sonia who I find the most awful, irritating stupid woman ever.

It looks like Sonya is getting hooked on the gym and exercise.

Suburban Mon 19-Aug-13 23:12:35

Steph did have one side effect to the cancer she had I wear a bandana for about 6 months.

The wardrobe people hate Sonya she seemed to be weeks a waterfall cardigan over a waterfall dress today.

I think this is all lining up for Kate to shag someone's boyfriend/a pupil/anyone inappropriate as she does. Then get pregnant and have to keep it because its her only shot.

I am really getting to like Sheila.

Fairygen Tue 20-Aug-13 18:59:48

I can't believe the Lassiter's apartments are built and furnished already, with no disruption to the hotel.

KittyMcAllister Tue 20-Aug-13 22:19:37

Sheila one of my favourite characters too. Slim pickings at the moment though! Are things gearing up for Sonya to have a breakdown/relapse? Lucas too for that matter, with the (totally unnecessary) debt?

Noseynoonoo Thu 22-Aug-13 00:34:16

Have to say I think that the Robbo actor is fantastic. Presumably he will have to leave to go to prison eventually which is a shame because he clearly did pass his acting school diploma!

Wish Amber would go, she's far too annoying

CecyHall Thu 22-Aug-13 12:38:09

Robbo is quite nice to look at too. He looks like he should be in a 90's rock band.

Clawdy Thu 22-Aug-13 19:36:52

So you're so paranoid about someone threatening your baby that you daren't leave the house. When you finally pluck up courage to venture out, you leave the pram unattended while you run up to the postman and have a long chat....nice one,Sonya!

I don't understand how Matt has been allowed to deal with Robbo. He isn't the only police officer and as he has such a history you would think he would be kept away to reduce the risk of jeopardising any case made against him

Islagiatt Sat 24-Aug-13 16:23:58

*Fairygen Tue 20-Aug-13 18:59:48
I can't believe the Lassiter's apartments are built and furnished already, with no disruption to the hotel*

Also. love the fact that Pauls' "luxury penthouse apartment' has exactly the same footprint as his house. And indeed, if one were cynical of mind, one could suggest that it is exactly the same set but with a pretend city view and some new twigs and pebbly shit on some shelves hmm

Rummikub Sat 24-Aug-13 16:28:21

grin at pebbly shit.

Loving Sheila.

I thought that about the 'apartment' too, Isla!

Toohottohandle Sat 24-Aug-13 21:09:57

How annoying is holly confused
Having izzy as a mum doesnt help shock
Robbo is creepy!
Wish they would just catch him and lock him away
Feel sorry for kate not being able ti have kids

Katz Sun 25-Aug-13 19:52:17

But you just know Kate will get pregnant by accident or when it suits the neighbours writers. I'm sure Toady and Sonya were told they couldn't have children and then magically Sonya was.

Fairygen Mon 26-Aug-13 19:37:39

Why has Paul started to sort out all his Lassiter's business from his apartment? Does he not have an office? If I remember correctly, a while back he held a staff meeting (about confidentiality clauses in the staff contracts) in the foyer of the hotel.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Mon 26-Aug-13 19:56:19

Yes! Business meetings in his 'luxury' apartment!! I loved that plate of lame sandwiches on the table. Is that 'hospitality' or did Paul get busy in the kitchen before hand??

alemci Tue 27-Aug-13 14:13:56

what is it with mason s hair. looks like he's been using Carmen heated rollers.

wasn't the scene with holly and Susan nauseating. wonder if holly means it

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 27-Aug-13 18:38:23

Yes it was weird!

I missed loads of episodes so am not sure where Lou has gone to and why his family can't just buy the house off Lucas?? Lucas seems to be able to lay his hands on loads of cash at the drop of a hat, why can't they?

I hadn't even noticed Lou was missing blush

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 27-Aug-13 18:46:36

And has Rani and her dad finally gone too?

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 27-Aug-13 18:48:00

Maybe they are on a skeleton cast over the summer???

BreconBeBuggered Tue 27-Aug-13 19:11:19

Why's Lauren getting all wobbly-lipped about the idea of Vanessa being pregnant? She only decided she fancied trying for another baby a few days ago, surely?

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 28-Aug-13 07:32:43

Oh that's because they are on soap time...rather like cat years

Rani and her Dad are in India visiting a dying relative

Not sure why Vanessa is going around announcing her pregnancy when she hasn't even done a test confused

Baby Patrick is only weeks old, too - that is a very small gap! Or has soap-time slipped a few months past whilst I wasn't paying attention?

Fairygen Wed 28-Aug-13 11:20:53

I thought I'd missed an episode when she'd (Vanessa) done a pregnancy test. Are we supposed to assume she's done one? I wonder if she'll get her figure back as quickly as she did with Patrick!

Noseynoonoo Wed 28-Aug-13 12:08:33

I think baby Patrick is about 6 months old and Vanessa hasn't been breastfeeding so it is not outside the realms of possibility. I know people who were pregnant again within 3 months (despite having C-sections and being advised to wait - but that's a whole different thread).

I like that Lucas said that they must remember that it is a blessing.

Who needs pregnancy tests, making too much cake mix is all the confirmation you need obviously.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 28-Aug-13 12:33:48

That, and just the hint of a suggestion that your neighbour is suddenly trying for another baby!

Of course it is perfectly normal to tell your neighbours that you are planning on TTC too.

Katz Wed 28-Aug-13 12:55:09

both babies were born around christmas so they'd be getting on for 8/9 months old. Oddly though we only seem to see them in peoples arms or pushchairs. At that age mine were cruising the furniture!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 28-Aug-13 13:53:05

And more great relationship advice from the expert Paul Robinson, professionally delivered in the middle of reception!

kansasmum Wed 28-Aug-13 14:03:49

I missed a bit of Neighbours while on holiday so can someone please tell me WHY Lucas and Vanessa are buying an APARTMENT and selling the HOUSE. Especially now they are having a baby?!! Why don't they just move in to the house the Willis' are renting?

They decided they had been at their current one for long enough and talked about the new apartments. Lucas got a bit carried away at the auction and bought it without speaking to Vanessa first. Paul won't let them out of the contract so they have no option but to buy and therefore have to sell the house to pay for it.

As Lauren said that they want to TTC Vanessa didn't want to kick them out of the house as she felt guilty.

Fairygen Wed 28-Aug-13 16:04:13

Who is living in the kapoor's old house? Can't Lauren etc, rent it? Why Lucan and Vanessa ever moved out of a house they owned, to rent an apartment susan owns, amazes me. Why can't they all just live in the houses they own, then the issue would be solved!

The Kapoors are coming back unfortunately

alemci Wed 28-Aug-13 18:08:42

theyare as dull as dishwater and dont know what the boys see in rani

Noseynoonoo Wed 28-Aug-13 18:12:07

I don't think the Kapoors are coming back. The Ajay actor had a big rant about how racist the new directors are and that is why the Kapoors had to leave. The family that replace them are suitably WASPish. I just hope they are scripted with some personality.

kansasmum Wed 28-Aug-13 18:50:00

Ahh that explains it! Thank you! I agree though - why don't they just live in the houses they own?!!

I'm guessing that either they get horribly killed I wish in India or they decide that they like it so much they stay?

Is there anyone currently living in a house they own? Surely the Kennedys have been there long enough that they must own and I would have thought Toadie would have been switched on enough to buy.

GibberTheMonkey Wed 28-Aug-13 19:43:33

I actually came on here to ask if I missed Vanessa doing a test

Katz Wed 28-Aug-13 22:05:27

Toadie owns his house, he originally bought it with Stuart I think, house of trouser!
Karl and Susan own there's but Karl bought Susan out when she moved out and she bought the flat, which Lucas and Vanessa are renting.
AJ owes his house
The willis house is part if the lassiters deal and Kate and co rent off of Lyn.

Asheth Wed 28-Aug-13 23:41:36

If I turned out to be pregnant every time I got a bit scatty and forgetful I'd have hundreds of children by now! I'm sure baby brain lasts for at least a year or 10 after the baby is born!

And it is silly that Lucas and Vanessa don't live in their own home. The Turners could have lived in Susan's flat - soap homes are very good at growing and losing bedrooms depending on the plot, so I'm sure it could have been big enough!

SpanishFly Thu 29-Aug-13 15:12:02

I don't think I've ever properly heard what Josh says cos I'm too busy trying to see any likeness between him and Steph Scully. I STILL can't see any resemblance

alemci Thu 29-Aug-13 15:13:19

you would think lauren had enough to do without baking with holly. doesn't she havw a business to run. another sick bucket scene.

SpanishFly Thu 29-Aug-13 15:27:33

WHOA THERE!!! !Since when has there been shelters outside Harold's??!!! Is it just to hide the fact that there are NO flats above it? :-)

Paul has just bought Kate and co's house from Lynn, Katz. It was an attempt to support Kate - so she didn't have to worry about rent, or broken hot water systems, but she did not Take It Well. She saw it as controlling etc ungrateful mare.

alemci Thu 29-Aug-13 15:52:18

neighbours is likea mpnopoly board

what is it with the williss garden. seems to have expanded

also wish Therese wouldn't show so much cleavage, yuck

AnneEyhtMeyer Thu 29-Aug-13 16:17:35

I like that Paul has bought the shared house as it was his family home when he lived with his Dad and Gran. <I do know it isn't real, honestly>

alemci Tue 03-Sep-13 17:50:28

where has baby patick gone.Vanessa working in harrolds, chatting to lucas. no mention of him.

Fairygen Tue 03-Sep-13 21:10:01

How come Therese spends so much time at home working? I'm guessing she doesn't have an office in the hotel complex either? Thinking about it, the only person who seems to spend all day at work is Vanessa. On a street where there is a doctor, lawyer, policeman, etc living, they seem to spend a hell of a lot of time at home or in Harold's.

GibberTheMonkey Tue 03-Sep-13 21:15:05

For some reason I keep getting booted off this thread so I a, posting to see if that makes a difference

Katz Thu 05-Sep-13 18:37:36

Kate's cardi dress combo ????????

AnneEyhtMeyer Sat 07-Sep-13 14:10:43

I am way behind and currently trying to do a massive catch up whilst nursing a hangover and Kate is making me want to throw things at the tv.

Why does she need to be centre of attention the whole bloody time? She just had to spoil Georgia's first song, didn't she?

She is totally selfish to the core. How can people (scriptwriters) think she is a sympathetic character??

Katz Sat 07-Sep-13 16:19:12

Kate's going to end up with Kyle again at some point and dispute the current issues she has conceiving will end up pregnant. It's Libby/Steph/drew all over again.

AnneEyhtMeyer Sat 07-Sep-13 16:24:14

You're right, Katz. I hate her and I am starting to hate Kyle for liking her.

Greengagesummer Tue 17-Sep-13 14:15:35

Really, has no one ever explained to Lucas why poker is so named?

Noseynoonoo Tue 17-Sep-13 16:07:43

I watch Neighbours on YouView. I start watching it about 5 minutes late so that I can fast forward past the gambling storyline. I learned to do this when Rani took up too much screen time.

Presumably Lucas will be prime suspect given that he has written out the IOU.

Katz Tue 17-Sep-13 16:36:36

i guess a poker relapse was a storyline just waiting to happen but they've done it so badly. Why on earth would they chose to live in an apt when they have a family home? why? house with garden and pool vs apt with a balcony?

Plus they've done the bulimic story line before too, Debbie Martin had it.

Greengagesummer Tue 17-Sep-13 17:15:08

Tbf very little of neighbours makes much sense...the live-in-a-small-apartment-when-you-own-a-big-house only makes sense in that Lucas & Vanessa are leaving Erinsborough for good soon, so might as well get them off Ramsay Street ASAP.

Fairygen Wed 18-Sep-13 19:09:43

I've always been a great fan, but at the mo all the storylines just seem too far fetched. They seem to be cramming too many 'issues' into each episode. Perhaps Robbo mowing down the majority of the rest of the cast would have been better!!

Katz Wed 18-Sep-13 19:26:03

i think you're right, they need to research the stories better and stick to a couple. although i'm interested to see how the Robbo story pans out - so who done it?

Suburban Thu 19-Sep-13 20:15:57

Lucas. He's the least likely, but is due to leave and this is Neighbours...

Katz Fri 20-Sep-13 08:10:47

Its obviously not toady as that's obvious!

KittyMcAllister Fri 20-Sep-13 18:01:01

My money's on Lucas - although Mason & Imogen have some explaining to do, Lucas has been on a downward spiral for a while and I can't imagine it being one of the new characters. It won't be Toady, too out of character. Loving the dramatic 'did he do it?' at the end of episodes too.

dopeysheep Fri 20-Sep-13 20:49:19

I reckon it will be Bailey. He owes Mason for the robbery before doesn't he and Callum said today it was his family who brought Robbo to the area. Also Robbo.said something about the driver being small?
Definitely Bailey.

FrillyMilly Fri 20-Sep-13 21:25:00

Wasn't there a reason given for Lucas and Vanessa moving? A new start or something. I cant remember now.

All neighbours storylines are on sort of rotation. There are eating disorders, amnesia, car accidents, infertility/miracle babies and Susan being made principal.

Katz Fri 20-Sep-13 22:14:45

Did anyone else notice that Robbo seemed to be pushed or stumbled in front of the car?

Islagiatt Tue 24-Sep-13 16:57:28

New Prisoner Cell Block H - Wentworth prison on Channel 5 - has Steph Scully, actual Madge Bishop (back from her sad demise) and even more amaze balls - Plain Jane Super Brain! Flashback central.

Although PJSB doesn't seemed to have aged well!

SpanishFly Wed 25-Sep-13 16:17:15

Katz, Robbo was walking backwards and bumped into a metal bollard - thats why he stumbled forward

Fairygen Wed 25-Sep-13 18:31:59

It's thursday tomorrow, and just realised I haven't seen it all week!!!! Maybe I do have a life afterall, although I'm doubtful!

Katz Wed 25-Sep-13 19:09:41

Ah, I just thought he might have been pushed rather than run down

Greengagesummer Wed 25-Sep-13 19:15:54

YY to Bailey - he has form for underage driving & looked very guilty in today's episode.

PJSB - no, no mustn't get sucked into another soap!

SpanishFly Wed 25-Sep-13 19:29:28

I thought Amber pretty much admitted it? Her flashback involved driving up to Robbo and arguing with him. Or was someone else driving the car...?

Steph, and Madge, and Plain Jane are in Wentworth? Why haven't I noticed this?? shock

alemci Wed 25-Sep-13 20:06:46

had a look at main characters on website but couldn't see any of ex neighbours stars.

AnneEyhtMeyer Wed 25-Sep-13 20:24:26

I have watched Wentworth and haven't seen them. confused I am one episode behind, so maybe they came into that one?

AnneEyhtMeyer Wed 25-Sep-13 20:36:58

Just looked them all up on IMDB and it looks like they are just in one episode. Will be interesting to see Plain Jane again, I don't think I've seen her in anything apart from Neighbours.

Katz Thu 26-Sep-13 22:10:45

There are too many lies! They're making Robbos hit and run very complicated

Hattie23 Sat 28-Sep-13 13:03:09

I may have been dreaming but for one day only Marg from the cafe had a new red top on!!!

alemci Mon 30-Sep-13 16:02:48

yes all very tedious about Robbo.

Had to laugh when Steve? (woodentop) got taken off the case. has it taken them that long to notice he is very closely involved and lives in the same street and socialises with these people.

Lucyadams184 Tue 01-Oct-13 12:07:14

I'm getting bored with the Robbo thing now, why do these things always have to be drawn out.

CecyHall Tue 01-Oct-13 12:13:12

This thread keeps dropping of my threads I'm on page.

I was surprised that this Robbo storyline hadn't had more publicity, but now I realise it's because it's so boring and annoying.

Mason's scared eyes are really irritating me now too.

KittyMcAllister Tue 01-Oct-13 18:22:27

Surely it can't be the anonymous hitman guy? They're not so cruel as to drag it all out just for that?

Katz Tue 01-Oct-13 18:46:34

It's going in too long, I really just don't care!

Fairygen Tue 01-Oct-13 18:56:42

Tbh I've gone past caring who did it!

KittyMcAllister Tue 01-Oct-13 22:20:09

Maybe Bossy the dog just dreamt the whole thing...

Noseynoonoo Thu 03-Oct-13 13:48:56

No, not the ruddy radio station, presumably only staffed by Ramsey Streeters. I wonder whose conversation will accidentally be played on the radio.

alemci Thu 03-Oct-13 15:34:21

must admit I felt sorry for Therese when imogen had a go at her.

Katz Thu 03-Oct-13 19:41:23

I thought the Therese Imogen scenes have been really good.

Fairygen Wed 09-Oct-13 18:10:11

Oh my god!! Therese's lily white cleavage was shocking today!!! If wardrobe insist on squeezing her into those low cut dresses, the least they could do is make sure the skin colour matches. How the rest of the cast could act with all that on show amazes me!! No wonder Karl had a huge smile on his face!!!

alemci Wed 09-Oct-13 18:32:05

I noticed that. Did she think she was going to Hawaii on her date afternoon with that flower in her hair.

Yes the cleavage is too much. Was she that youngest kid who lived with Pippa in home and away?

love the way Kate just disappears. Isn't it term time at school? Bailey had his uniform on.

Katz Thu 10-Oct-13 16:35:14

Ah but Australian teachers appear to be able to take leave in term time, and when their boyfriend dumps them!

KittyMcAllister Thu 10-Oct-13 17:26:34

Listen, don't complain - anything that gets rid of the insufferable, self-centred Kate is a blessing!

Clawdy Thu 17-Oct-13 08:32:18

Hit and run revelation was a bit of a damp was obviously not going to be one of the "established" family members. Can't see how Chris's boyfriend would have got so involved anyway, he hardly really knew Amber?

Suburban Thu 17-Oct-13 13:58:44

Such a disappointment. They obviously created Hunter to be disposable. Also the Lucas debt thing was cleared up conveniently quickly.

alemci Thu 17-Oct-13 16:49:14

it reminded me of a weak version of who killed JR in Dallas.

KittyMcAllister Thu 17-Oct-13 17:31:59

Yes a lot of utterly pointless build-up for nothing.

AmandinePoulain Fri 18-Oct-13 17:54:32

I'm a few episodes behind but had to grin when even Toady called Sonia irritating when she was doing that ridiculous pirate skit grin

Fairygen Fri 18-Oct-13 19:01:34

What a load of hype for it to end up being someone who really didn't have a motive.....or have I missed something??

dopeysheep Fri 18-Oct-13 21:31:03

Pffft. Rubbish. It should havd been Bailey.

Next storyline should definitely involve Georgia and her crazy singing/nursing dilemma, maybe raiding the hospital drugs cupboard to sustain her lifestyle and/or slip Paul a mickey for being such a meanie and not letting her out of her contract.

dopeysheep Fri 18-Oct-13 21:32:05

And what was the deal with the weird old woman and Callum and Bailey with the cash? Strange.

Katz Sun 20-Oct-13 08:41:46

The writers seem to have gone slightly off the bool really.

SpanishFly Wed 23-Oct-13 10:25:55

I obviously missed a crucial line in yesterday's episode. Why on EARTH did lucas and Vanessa have to leave INSTANTLY? ! They decided to move and had to pack and leave on the same day that they put in an offer on the house?!

It's obvious. They had to leave immediately so that Toadie and Sonya had to organise a spur-of-the-moment party at which Toadie could tell Chris that Hudson did get bail, so Chris could work out that Hudson was out of jail but hadn't contacted him, leading to Chris leaving the party all upset. Simples! grin

Is it just me, or was Georgia really, really stupid to sign a contract giving all the copyright for her songs to Paul? Could she not see how wrong that was going to go? Did she think Paul was some kind of white knight philanthropist benefactor who only had the good of her career at heart?

And why doesn't she do agency nursing, so she can fit it in round her career (which doesn't seem that time consuming at the moment, as it consists of the occasional gig at Charlies and one recording session). And if her music career means that much to her, why didn't she just do the recording session? I so want to slap her!

alemci Wed 23-Oct-13 12:06:00

No Georgia is a bit of an air head and Kyle isn't much brighter it appears.

Love the way everything happens in one episode. Remember when poor Drew was killed off.

Mind you at least we won't hear cupcakes mentioned every five minutes.

Didn't mind Lucas though.

creepycadence Wed 23-Oct-13 18:07:01

I know, some of the storylines are so stupid. I am glad that Lucas had a happy ending, I was convinced he was the one who'd killed Robbo and would be caught and locked up. I would've been gutted because I like his character and wanted him to be happy. I do know it's not the real btw! grin

Suburban Thu 24-Oct-13 07:36:53

Georgia is meant to be a bit of an airhead, but why didn't Toady spot the song thing?

Neighbours always boot characters out the episode they announce they are off. Like Andrew and Tash last year.

Doesn't stop me watching though. I am happy for Lucas too.

Am hoping Imogen and Mason will get together now.

Katz Thu 24-Oct-13 17:17:24

Sub - he did and told her to get it changed but she didn't.

Yes - she took legal advice, and then thought, 'No - I will give ownership of all my songs to Paul Robinson - what can possibly go wrong?'

Suburban Fri 25-Oct-13 07:25:02

Oh thanks for clearing that up.

Love how Paul is suddenly the next Simon Cowell. Only in Erinsborough!

Yes - and how this, apparently well known, singer is happy to come to some small suburb and sing in a pub! I can't imagine wracks brain for contemporary female pop star and fails the Spice Girls doing that!

SpanishFly Fri 25-Oct-13 22:41:07

Did anyone notice the mention by Matt that he and Lauren split up for three months? I'm praying she got back with Brad for one last hoohah and the question of Mason's paternity starts. There MUST be a reason that Lauren and Brad appeared at the same time, and why Matt and Mason have never connected etc etc

Katz Sat 26-Oct-13 10:14:01

spanish - i wouldn't put it past them! i think he also mentioned that Mason was born 9 months after they got back together!!!!

creepycadence Sat 26-Oct-13 14:12:09

And it'll happen just as Imogen and Mason fall for each other.

So - we are getting rid of the Annoying Kapoors - but can someone tell me how Rani has managed to pack up their living room and kitchen (either by herself or with Callum and Bailey's help) in next to no time??!!

SpanishFly Wed 30-Oct-13 21:00:51

I've worked out why Terese's heaving bosom is SOOO in-your-face. It's cos she's found all of Rebecca' s wrap dresses in the wardrobe, which are two sizes too small.

skillsandtea Wed 30-Oct-13 21:35:12

Mark Brennan is coming back again! Swoon....grin

alemci Wed 30-Oct-13 22:30:31

Spanish that must be it. those boobs are shelf like, maybe she needs to join the bra thead on mumsnet.

Rebecca always wore a wrap dress with high heels whilst balancing wash basket

skillsandtea Thu 31-Oct-13 08:22:07

Apparently Rebecca is coming back to so I'm guessing she'll want her dresses back! grin

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 31-Oct-13 11:02:38

Oh classic!! 'Clash of the wrap dress!'.

alemci Thu 31-Oct-13 13:49:35

so glad rani is leaving. wouldn't Bailey have moved on. can't understand whar they see in her.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 01-Nov-13 14:58:35

It's less so much her bossomy wrap dress look but more her wrinkly nasal stroppiness that really winds me up

Clawdy Fri 01-Nov-13 19:19:36

What a boring Lou non-story! And why did Lolly return for one episode?

KittyMcAllister Tue 05-Nov-13 14:20:13

What is with Georgia's uber-annoying cousin and her bizarre accent? Or is she just a really bad actress?

skillsandtea Tue 05-Nov-13 16:04:02

Glad they have gone back to the more normal Neighbours theme. Yes that new cousin is very annoying..

I say bring back Izzy!

Clawdy Tue 05-Nov-13 19:29:53

Can't believe Mason and his pleading "Take me back" banner! Can't remember why Kate dropped him so suddenly...must have missed an episode.

scarlet5tyger Wed 06-Nov-13 13:05:36

I was struggling enough with how annoying Georgia is, now there's 2 of them! I don't think there's a single person left that I like anymore. Paul was okay until he cried - please don't make him suddenly get a heart!

alemci Wed 06-Nov-13 15:26:36

Yes that new cousin is really irritating and has a vacant look about her. She doesn't look old enough to be a qualified teacher and I love the equal opportunities in Erinsborough High. Do they not advertise or get a supply teacher.

what a load of rubbish

Katz Wed 06-Nov-13 16:22:17

Oh yes Izzy that would be fab

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 06-Nov-13 19:31:51

I has assumed the story line was that she is a fraud and not qualified at all. To go from dancing into a science/teaching degree and then qualify to actually have a previous job history seemed somewhat stretching it!

Mind you... Kate did it, so why not!!

She is vacant though, isn't she!!!

There was something in yesterday's episode, suggesting something strange happened at her old school - when she was talking to her mum on the phone, and was saying that she hadn't done 'those things'. I think she has some sort of PTSD, following her accident, and this will come out when she's under stress in the classroom.

I am absolutely sure that Susan is going to regret hiring her!

SpanishFly Thu 07-Nov-13 12:32:37

I certainly regret Susan hiring her. She's dreadful. Has weird staring eyes, her mouth moves very strangely and she's got a very bizarre voice.

On the other hand I'm delighted rebecca is returning, even though it's not for long. I really miss her and tge (first) Declan - I thought the programme was much better in those days

KittyMcAllister Thu 07-Nov-13 17:34:39

Yes I really liked Rebecca too - is she going to be a love interest for Paul again I wonder? I wondered if maybe annoying cousin will turn out to have seduced one of her students? And I love how a head teacher is called upon to fill in, no supply teachers available then?!

Suburban Fri 08-Nov-13 06:43:36

No new character can arrive without having some sort of mysterious secret.

I slightly wonder if she is being lined up as Kate's replacement?

Cannot stand all the Josh and Amber scenes at the moment.

alemci Fri 08-Nov-13 10:24:50

Agree about Amber. She doesn't seem to have much up top does she and is really clingy and irritating.

Also Imogen. In real life Toady would tell her to take a running jump when she expects to be paid. Talk about pushy.

Does Kate think those check trousers look good?

alemci Fri 08-Nov-13 10:25:07

I mean brain wise.

Maybe work experience students in Australia do get paid - I suppose it would enhance the experience. I have an Aussie friend - I will ask her.

scarlet5tyger Fri 08-Nov-13 14:39:23

Today is Scott and Charlene's 25th wedding anniversary (in the UK at least). Now I feel old!!

Suburban Sun 10-Nov-13 09:14:52

this is brilliant. Actors who have played more than one part in neighbours.

Love the Sheila/Cheryl Stark one.

alemci Sun 10-Nov-13 10:32:11

did Sheila actress play Cheryl the whole time? If so I wouldn't have made the connection. Cheryl had bright red hair or was that another actress?

Interesting site thanks

Suburban Sun 10-Nov-13 11:32:30

No Cheryl was played by an actress with red hair. But the actress was off sick for a while so instead of abruptly sending her to Bendigo or Tazzy they just brought another actress (Sheila) to play her for a month or so.

alemci Mon 11-Nov-13 18:59:52

boak with Josh and Amber and their parents, cringing at the "should we wait". get a life Lauren.

Clawdy Mon 11-Nov-13 22:43:08

Sick and tired of Josh and Amber.Storylines are dragging at the moment.

Katz Tue 12-Nov-13 07:57:05

Spoiler alert but the officially neighbours twitter says someone is leaving, someone many of you will be pleased to hear is leaving!

bootsycollins Tue 12-Nov-13 09:17:51

I accidentally watched what I presumed was Home and Away yesterday, I thought Carl and Susan had left Erinsborough and moved to Summer Bay for a good 3 minutes. Then I realised that my confusion was because Sally and another Summer Bay ex resident had in fact moved to Erinsborough. Outwitted by Aussie soap, not good grin

alemci Tue 12-Nov-13 18:20:30

did you mean Kate Ritchie in home and away playing Sally.? which summer bay characters.

I think therese was in H & A.

Asheth Tue 12-Nov-13 21:40:54

Brad was in H&A wasn't he, under another name. And isn't that the Jack Holden actor from H&A playing Toadie's dodgy client?

Willabywallaby Wed 13-Nov-13 14:17:00

I did quite like Mason topless today, although I'm sure he didn't need to be wandering around the house with no top on.

Haven't seen it for a week, totally missed Lucas and Vanessa leaving. Last saw it with the cousin arriving and now she's a teacher!

Only this thread is helping me follow it.

bootsycollins Fri 15-Nov-13 00:56:49

Yeah Kate Richie from Home and Away but in Neighbours, is she a teacher at Erinsborough High?. The other home and Away actress in Neighbours was one of Tom and Pippas foster children who had a teenage pregnancy storyline.

alemci Fri 15-Nov-13 08:11:23

Bootsy not sure if that is the same actress. A character called Kate is a teacher and she looks similar maybe.

Was Therese Willis one of the original foster dc in Home and Away from a young age?

Asheth Fri 15-Nov-13 08:23:42

Therese Willis was Sophie in H&A.

decaffwithcream Sat 16-Nov-13 23:13:37

I was hoping original Declan might come back with Rebecca, as the actor had to leave the army due to injury. But he's apparently studying nursing now.

In defence of Gem she's the only person in Erinsborough who actually perceives that Kate is an instantly dislikeable character. I find her vendetta entertaining. She has potential to be very "Single White Female" over Georgia.

decaffwithcream Sat 16-Nov-13 23:17:16

Have just seen what Katz is referring to, about which of the characters is leaving. Excellent news.

Katz Sun 17-Nov-13 12:23:07

decaff - great isn't it!

onedev Sun 17-Nov-13 17:25:11

Can you pm me as I need to know!!

decaffwithcream Sun 17-Nov-13 19:26:07

<sends pm with joyful news to onedev>

It's like an early Christmas present Katz.

onedev Sun 17-Nov-13 20:19:11

Thanks guys!

Katz Sun 17-Nov-13 21:26:28

Sadly I don't think it'll be before Christmas but at least it's coming!

skillsandtea Wed 20-Nov-13 15:13:15

Matt is just a dreary man. For someone who in theory should be quite attractive - tall, good looking, etc., he's actually a real turn off. On the other hand I'm starting to quite fancy Brad even though when he first came in I didn't think much at all. Are he and Lauren really going to have an affair or is that just what bring led to think?

skillsandtea Wed 20-Nov-13 15:13:40

anonacfr Wed 20-Nov-13 16:11:33

I stopped watching Neighbours but would love a PM to find out who goes. If it is who I hope it is I might give it another go!

onedev Wed 20-Nov-13 18:31:39

Totally agree skills!

decaffwithcream Thu 21-Nov-13 19:41:20

While tuning out one of Matt's tedious speeches the other day, I was thinking about how he had definately been hired for his looks. His looks fail to excite me though as the character has had all charisma surgically removed. It's a waste.

decaffwithcream Thu 21-Nov-13 19:55:29

Bizarrely, Lucy Robinson is coming back, again. As is Mark Brennan. Both next year. Did they just bring them back earlier to remind us they existed?

alemci Thu 21-Nov-13 20:17:23

also the clichés about therese being a career woman and Lauren being a sahm even though she owns a business. no one ever notices Susan has a career. mind you she seems not to snowed under being school principalgrin

tummybummer Fri 22-Nov-13 14:31:48

Fairly certain that Mason Turner and Imogen Willis are brother and sister.

decaffwithcream Fri 22-Nov-13 18:29:18

That would explain the neverending lead up to their relationship.

Kym Valentine/ Libby has just settled her lawsuit against Neighbours. She was seeking lost wages and to be rehired. So it's unknown whether she got that part of her claim granted.

Her alternative claim was that she be rehired as another character with the same status of Libby - that would be very strange to watch.

onedev Fri 22-Nov-13 19:57:48

What's that about decaff? I didn't know there was a lawsuit going on - why??

tummybummer Fri 22-Nov-13 20:37:28

Yeah and we've already been told that Lauren and Matt broke up for a while after they got together. She's kept a sketch of Brad... blah blah blah. Plus she reacted really weirdly the first time Mason and Imogen dated. Totally half brother and sister.

decaffwithcream Fri 22-Nov-13 20:40:51

Whether all that means she got her wishes about being reinstated is anyones guess.

Its funny that Neighbours writers wrote in a surrogate young woman and son, in Rhiannon and Jackson, living with Karl and Susan while they are being sued to reinstate Libby (who would presumably come with a new Ben if she did return).

onedev Fri 22-Nov-13 22:18:14

Thanks Decaff, although still don't quite get it - did they sack her because she was sick?

decaffwithcream Sat 23-Nov-13 20:31:19

She's sued them for disability discrimination and claimed unfair dismissal, so she must think they did.

I have no idea about the sex discrimination bit though.

If they do bring her back as another character (which was something she asked for if she couldn't be Libby) she could be Mason and Imogen's sister, the one on a very long exchange in Canada.

Seeing her introduced to Karl and Susan would be head-wrecking grin

Katz Sun 24-Nov-13 17:06:26

she could come back as Libby - the character is just living near her son Ben who is extremely gifted and went to boarding school as a result!

They do like that storyline. Harry (the most unconvincing basketball player ever) got a basketball scholarship in Sydney, Sophie, who only started learning to play guitar to be able to have lesson with Noah, was an unknown musical talent and got a scholarship to music school!

onedev Sun 24-Nov-13 21:36:37

Thanks both grin

decaffwithcream Mon 25-Nov-13 18:52:34

She could easily come back as Libby if they let her.

She has invited people to campaign on twitter to get Libby back.

But it's her suggestion that she play another character if she can't play Libby that wrecks my head grin

decaffwithcream Mon 25-Nov-13 18:55:03

Ramsay Street is crowded with gifted and talented children! Summer won a scholarship to music school and went off to board the first time she left too.

tummybummer Mon 25-Nov-13 21:25:59

Gem doing my head in today - she talks like she has a mouthful of marbles!!!

alemci Mon 25-Nov-13 22:05:17

can't stand Gem. her voice is so irritating.

Willabywallaby Tue 26-Nov-13 13:00:10

I have to agree her voice is more annoying than the characters meanness.

KittyMcAllister Tue 26-Nov-13 18:09:35

I actually don't mind Gem's meanness, it'll be fun when her bizarre behaviour is finally exposed, but you're right her voice is SOOOO grating! There's something very odd about her accent, as if she's trying to sound British. And what's with those weird starey eyes?!

AmandinePoulain Tue 26-Nov-13 20:05:39

I'm about a week behind but I'm sure that Vanessa was in the background in the episode I watched today confused. She even had the same green pram!

alemci Wed 27-Nov-13 14:13:24

eughhh Gem with Bailey. is she coming onto him or what.

where are the other staff and safeguarding

skillsandtea Wed 27-Nov-13 14:25:58

Lauren looks like Cressida, Prince Harry's girlfriend, but much less cool.

Willabywallaby Wed 27-Nov-13 15:22:28

Run Bailey run!

KittyMcAllister Wed 27-Nov-13 16:45:02

Those scenes are actually really uncomfortable to watch. I hope he stitches her up good & proper.

superlambanana Wed 27-Nov-13 17:01:55

Matt has the charisma of a cardboard box. Or maybe he just can't act...

Gem is doing my head in. She should not be allowed near children! And how come the school office is always unlocked and unmanned?! (And used for everything, including as Susan's office)

decaffwithcream Thu 28-Nov-13 00:12:07

How come the school has never had a secretary or receptionist?

This is the first time I have any feelings other irritation towards Bailey but I already feel disturbed for him. She is going to really mess with his head.

I can't decide whether Gem wants Georgia completely to herself OR if she's actually carrying a massive grudge and is secretly trying to ruin Georgia's life out of jealousy.

SpanishFly Thu 28-Nov-13 15:31:32

I hate how Bailey walks with his head forward, as if his hair is weighing it down.

alemci Thu 28-Nov-13 18:57:54

also Gems outfit is hardly appropriate for school. the bailey thing is awful.

why is mason suddenly with rhiannon,

superlambanana Thu 28-Nov-13 20:05:03

Gem makes my skin crawl!!!

Has there been a teacher at Erinsborough High that hasn't had an affair with a student? Apart from Susan?

Gem was wearing exactly the same inappropriate outfit to work two days on the trot, wasn't she?

superlambanana Fri 29-Nov-13 17:50:50

I am desperate to brush Rhiannon's hair!!

Noseynoonoo Mon 02-Dec-13 16:15:29

Missed the start today. What has Therese agreed to do for Paul?

decaffwithcream Mon 02-Dec-13 20:11:47

Take over running Lassiters essentially. Paul has Other Plans.

decaffwithcream Mon 02-Dec-13 20:14:07

In Breaking News:

Scott and Charlene's son is arriving in Erinsborough next year.

He's meant to be 21. I hoped that was typical inaccurate neighbours ageing but in fact that could be accurate. Man, I feel old.

AmandinePoulain Mon 02-Dec-13 20:32:19

I wondered how long it would take for the spawn of Scott and Charlene to show up wink grin

decaffwithcream Mon 02-Dec-13 22:59:37

Let us all be truly grateful that at least he can't be yet another love interest for Kate. He must be her cousin.

qazxc Tue 03-Dec-13 09:17:49

decaff do you really think that will stop her?

decaffwithcream Tue 03-Dec-13 15:19:08

Well, we can only hope qazxc. Officially the child of Scott and Charlene is coming to stay in Erinsborough "to see where his parents met and fell in love". As you do.

He should just watch their wedding video like everyone else. There are still dvds of it knocking around on amazon...

alemci Wed 04-Dec-13 14:07:29

why is Sonya so involved with josie. she is really irritating. poor Nell doesn't get a look in.

alemci Wed 04-Dec-13 14:07:29

SpanishFly Wed 04-Dec-13 17:12:51

So you have a "sexy" dream about your ex, who is also a neighbour, and you tell the town busybody about it?! Really??

But MAYOR OF ERINSBOROUGH!!!! As always, Neighbours comes up trumps with inventing a completely unrealistic scenario/job for the purposes of an exciting new story. However I do have to say I'm delighted Paul has a storyline again. Is it connected to the brief return of Rebecca? ?

alemci Thu 05-Dec-13 15:59:57

rhiannon reminds me of Princess fiona in shrek.

where has creepy gem gone. did I miss an episode.

decaffwithcream Thu 05-Dec-13 18:25:08

They are doing one of those annoying things with the gem storyline when they leave a storyline hanging and all the characters connected with it just disappear for days at a time.

Was Lou not Mayor of Erinsborough before?

Or am i mixing him up with Alf and Audrey in Corrie?

qazxc Mon 09-Dec-13 14:12:50

Why is Amber dressed in revealing clothes wearing loads of make up to be a meter maid? Is it to start a josh is a control freak storyline?

There is NO way that is a twenty-generations-old ring - it is a waaaay too modern design!

skillsandtea Tue 10-Dec-13 15:30:02

I know Gem is creepy and her attire isn't quite appropriate for a teacher but I'm loving her silver trousers.

alemci Tue 10-Dec-13 18:52:02

love the way Amber is an expert photographer after taking a couple of shots on a mobile - yeah righthmm

also Gem, hasnt toady noticed how weird she is before, she lives in his house and where was Sonya, kaftan woman, nell and callum?

ItsBiggerOnTheInside Tue 10-Dec-13 19:07:35

Yeah...I loved the '20 generations' ring too!!!

qazxc Tue 10-Dec-13 19:30:03

Yes has Amber ever even talked about photography before? suddenly she is snapping away at everyone and everything?

20 generations, does that not make the ring about 350- 400 years old?

AnneEyhtMeyer Tue 10-Dec-13 19:37:45

They obviously needed a new photographer in the show now Lucas the photographer turned mechanic has gone.

Rhiannon reminds me of Kylie / Charlene before the plastic surgery and botox she got older.

AnneEyhtMeyer Tue 10-Dec-13 19:41:14

Didn't the couple pay for a professional photographer as part of their package? What would the hotel have done if they hadn't conveniently discovered Amber was a talented photographer on the day of the wedding?

AnneEyhtMeyer Tue 10-Dec-13 19:45:03

Oh Paul is just asking the questions I just asked!

qazxc Tue 10-Dec-13 19:47:33

is Amber any good? She seemed to take the same photo of the bride over and over cropping off the top of her head everytime?
Then 2 photos of couple, then turned back to flick through photos, had fight with boyfriend, more flicking and showing to therese whilst the couple are just standing there for 5 mins like a couple of lemons.

alemci Tue 10-Dec-13 19:58:48

where are all the other guests at the wedding , is it too low budget for extras . lauren acts like a mother from the 1950s towards Amber

qazxc Tue 10-Dec-13 20:14:05

Thank god they also can't speak english, very unprofessional for paul to have a go in front of them.

SpanishFly Wed 11-Dec-13 07:07:34

I do love Neighbours. They spend weeks filling episodes with irrelevant nonsense, then Amber becomes a professional photographer within 11 minutes

alemci Wed 11-Dec-13 08:56:07

I love it too. I gave up watching it for ages, now I hate to miss it. Pure escapism.

Particularly intrigued about Gem. I would have thought she would have had a run in with Sheila by now particularly if Gem is spoiling Kyle and Georgia's relationship. After all he is her precious grandson.

I cringed the other day when he stripped off in front of her to go in the Jacuzzi.

alemci Wed 11-Dec-13 14:06:37

does anyone else think that Gem sounds like Felicity Kendal when she was Barbara in the good life with the little girl voice.

decaffwithcream Wed 11-Dec-13 21:04:39

Toadie is catching on to Gem.

I predict she will kill him in his sleep.

ItsBiggerOnTheInside Wed 11-Dec-13 21:31:02

shock where did Lucas go?? <missed something>

decaffwithcream Wed 11-Dec-13 23:04:21

Lucas and Vanessa saw a house in the countryside that they liked the look of (online).

So they bought it, told everyone, packed, Lucas hired out the garage, they attended their goodbye party thrown by Toadie and Sonya, and departed.

All in a day.

Blink and you missed it.

decaffwithcream Wed 11-Dec-13 23:04:46

I miss Lucas though.

KittyMcAllister Wed 11-Dec-13 23:33:27

Yes Lucas was alright but Vanessa was v annoying with her bloody cupcakes all the time! Weren't they supposed to be having another baby as well? Maybe that'll be Toady's panto excuse.

I do confess to liking the Gem storyline though - can't predict how she's going to be rumbled or what's really going on inside her head. I think Susan may also be cottoning on to her.

Am pissed off though that we're undoubtedly going to be subjected to dreary old Kate wrestling with her feelings re: Kyle. Get over it woman!

It is completely unrealistic (yes, yes, this is Neighbours, so realism is not high on the list of adjectives that spring to mind), to think that Therese would hire a school girl to do those wedding photos, on the basis of a few snaps on a phone. Or that a professional photographer would happily hand over all his expensive kit to a schoolgirl he doesn't know. Or that she would know how to use all said expensive kit.

And the photos looked crap - I would NOT be impressed, if that is what I got in my expensive wedding package.

AnneEyhtMeyer Thu 12-Dec-13 11:03:49

Yes, but in Erinsborough you can get a job as a teacher without any qualifications or aptitude just because you don't fancy being a dancer any longer.

Fair point, Anne!

SpanishFly Thu 12-Dec-13 16:50:45

I'm just delighted that they got rid of the screechy theme tune.

ItsBiggerOnTheInside Thu 12-Dec-13 17:48:22

grin I blinked, I missed it!!!

decaffwithcream Thu 12-Dec-13 18:04:59

Its like they throw a new writer into the pot and they fast forward everything. I missed one episode and there was an eclipse, someone blinded, a psychotic break, a baby abduction and Brennan and Brad returned.

I sat through weeks of aimlessly meandering storylines in order to miss all that.

alemci Thu 12-Dec-13 18:31:50

things are hotting up with the Gem/Bailey storyline. why isn't sonya sticking her nose in when toady told her?

also Gem's skirt today, couldn't be any shorter.

ItsBiggerOnTheInside Thu 12-Dec-13 20:05:29

That's exactly it decaf.... I seem to miss the 'big moments' fgrin

AmandinePoulain Thu 12-Dec-13 21:46:12

My main concern is if Karl becomes mayor, what will become of the residents of Erinsborough if they need medical care? They'll be doomed, no one else can cover every single speciality the way he can, surely? wink

<I am about a week behind, so this post may make no sense if he's no longer running for some reason>

Oh, he's still running. Today he was composing his campaign song. fhmm

skillsandtea Fri 13-Dec-13 14:22:32

Isn't Imogen fantastic?! Didn't think much of her at first but she's really grown on me.

KittyMcAllister Fri 13-Dec-13 14:43:45

Imogen has shown a lot of spirit standing up to evil Gem. And there was a baby in Lauren's dream today! Beginning to think pp were right when they suggested Mason was really Brad's son.

And has anyone else noticed how they seem to be sponsored by Superdry at the moment? First Chris the Josh wearing their stuff.

decaffwithcream Fri 13-Dec-13 16:45:30

Super dry is becoming the apple mac of Ramsay St.

People must be right about doubts over Mason's paternity. Or else that was some severe overacting on Lauren's part to dreaming about an invisible baby.

So round about the time he and Imogen finally get together, it will all come out.

qazxc Fri 13-Dec-13 19:36:28

Missed the imogen/gem thing. just seen when she told sonya and they went to the school meeting. What happened?

decaffwithcream Fri 13-Dec-13 19:54:32

Imogen reported Gem to Susan for favouring the boys. Then she saw Gem holding hands with Bailey at the lake (v disturbing) and reported her again. So Gem looked up Imogen's file and threatened to tell everyone about the bulimia.

Bailey denied the handholding to everyone after Gem talked to him about how "no-one would understand." They are actually getting across the grooming/emotional manipulation of Bailey by Gem much better than I thought they would. If it wasn't part of a storyline about "this character is deranged" it would be more realistic though.

Suburban Fri 13-Dec-13 20:54:28

I like Imogen too. Also not that I like her, but at least Gem is interesting compared to Josh/Amber/Matt/Brad/Therese and all the other new characters lately.

Sonya is so irritating. The stylists must hate her too. Her outfit today was awful.

I wonder how long they will spin the Mason thing out for?

alemci Fri 13-Dec-13 20:55:50

love the way there is no dragon like secretary in the office and gem can help herself to the school records so easily. was she wearing the same outfit still.

Sonya was actually being quite impressive and useful rather than being really nosey and annoying.

alemci Fri 13-Dec-13 20:58:32

yes agree sonya looks awful. yes the characters are bland especially lauren. also Amber has changed, she used to be so clingy and in your face.

decaffwithcream Fri 13-Dec-13 21:29:59

Well, she's a professional photographer now wink

I now know why Josie looked familiar. They used the same actress to play nasty-mean-girl when Sophie went to private school.

Neighbours - do well with the first part you play and they may give you another one...

KittyMcAllister Fri 13-Dec-13 23:28:24

I'm also wondering when/how the Kate thing will come out about Kyle as it surely must! Will the return of the gorgeous Brennan have something to do with it?

Good point about the subtlety of Gem's grooming as well. She has really got inside Bailey's head.

Also love how Erinsborough High has only one classroom - and no science equipment by the looks of it either!

decaffwithcream Fri 13-Dec-13 23:32:44

I thought Gem suspected about Kate and Kyle before, but she wouldn't be keeping it to herself for long if she knew for sure.

I think we will be waiting quite a while for Brennan, 6 months or so. Sadly.

AmandinePoulain Sat 14-Dec-13 21:25:03

What's going on next week? The description on my sky planner for every day is that apparently Sonya is upset by Walter's betrayal and something about Rani? confused

queryremelatonin Sun 15-Dec-13 16:52:15

You appear to have gone back in time Amandine. More bad acting from Lauren over Brad, Mason getting cold feet over Rhiannon again, and more disturbing Gem and Bailey stuff I think.

alemci Sun 15-Dec-13 17:03:15

I know the teacher thing has been done before on neighbours - Libby with ? then Rachel with male teacher but the characters were quite pleasant but because Gem is so weird and conniving against Georgia etc it seems much worse to me.

queryremelatonin Sun 15-Dec-13 18:40:14

And Kate with the teenage boy. I think the difference is that Gem appears to be directly grooming and manipulating Bailey. I think Rachel and whoever met on a night out and he subsequently became her teacher. Also the age gap was more like 2 years with Kate and with Libby and her student IIRC. Not that it was ok. They are presenting this quite differently.

Lot of safeguarding issues in that school though!

AmandinePoulain Sun 15-Dec-13 19:12:38

Oh I know the sky planner has gone crazy - it's that description for every single day confused

RubberBaubles Sun 15-Dec-13 20:22:12

I still don't like this new Brad. Brad was a jolly blonde surfer who wasn't exactly blessed in the brains department. New Brad is a fairly serious, clever brunette. I know that they can't always get the same actor to play parts but why give him a personality change too?

Gem is super creepy and I'm sure that the problem with her old school was inappropriate behaviour with a student.

Neighbours needs a good looking man, the talent is seriously lacking in that soap. An Australian Cain Dingle or Sexy Steve McDonald.
