Anyone watching? It's my guilty pleasure..

It's mine too smile

Wallpaper fabric dress?!

sailorsgal Mon 11-Feb-13 21:19:27

How do they go to the loo???

Catheter? wink

NoelHeadbands Mon 11-Feb-13 21:22:48

The girls on these programmes are always so gorgeous and the boys are always so, like, not

Varya Mon 11-Feb-13 21:23:50

Hunting hares Grrrrr

Do you really think they are gorgeous girls?

dannyboyle Mon 11-Feb-13 21:24:23

They just threw the dog in he water. Christ!

thenightsky Mon 11-Feb-13 21:24:44

Brendan has already been to prison before... how old is he now???

21

Scheherezade Mon 11-Feb-13 21:25:27

Everyone has cancer :/

NoelHeadbands Mon 11-Feb-13 21:25:49

I absolutely do think they are gorgeous, yes. Underneath the tans and stuff I mean.

Dark hair and lovely eyes, and lovely full figures

<jealous emoticon>

Oh yes I agree with you in that case Noel, natural beauty underneath I wish they would show it more.

sailorsgal Mon 11-Feb-13 21:27:58

They are always seem to have great cleavage. envy

akaemmafrost Mon 11-Feb-13 21:30:51

Yes, girls are almost all stunning. Boys almost all potato heads.

I can't help but be touched by their devotion to each other and total faith in the institute of marriage though.

VivaLeBeaver Mon 11-Feb-13 21:32:32

They were never going to catch a hare in a million years. Hares are in fields not woodland like that. No way he'd have got one with an air rifle.

ginmakesitallok Mon 11-Feb-13 21:33:11

I just think it's all so sad. Poor girl.

SucksToBeMe Mon 11-Feb-13 21:36:46

That's what I thought Viva. We get lots of them coursing at night round our way. Poor hares.

sailorsgal Mon 11-Feb-13 21:37:28

Did he say time for a couple of pints and a couple of fights. hmm

Who said romance was dead.

Willdoitinaminute Mon 11-Feb-13 21:39:42

Afraid it's a very fairy tale view of travellers. Have lived and worked in an area that has had large traveller population for over a hundred years. The last traveller wedding held at our local village hall ended up with the groom the father of the bride and the pregnant bride in hospital after a fight that lasted about an hour.
The local police would not attend. Too many repercussions for their own families so they have an arrangement with other local forces so that

Booyhoo Mon 11-Feb-13 21:40:09

this show always makes me so sad.

the girls just seem to have no idea what they're committing too or what they're giving up by marrying so young.

also, is that priest a bit, umm, odd?

Booyhoo Mon 11-Feb-13 21:41:01

and there weren't many family members in that church either.

thenightsky Mon 11-Feb-13 21:43:18

Brendan's young wife looks so sad in all the post-wedding bits.

HappyJustToBe Mon 11-Feb-13 21:43:24

Definitely a bit odd. Loveable rogue? Hmmm.

VivaLeBeaver Mon 11-Feb-13 21:43:37

I go unintentionally hate coursing sometimes with my sighthound. She sees one and she's off, never caught one yet and the dog can go at over 40mph so the hares are bloody fast.

Their relationship seems to have changed since the wedding. She looks so fed up already

Booyhoo Mon 11-Feb-13 21:45:00

i thought the priest just seemed to like mentioning the 'young 16 year old girls' a bit too often.

sailorsgal Mon 11-Feb-13 21:45:15

Brendan said, "just don't get caught" guilty then.

Scheherezade Mon 11-Feb-13 21:45:19

The dark hair is dyed, their heritage is red hair, pale skin.

Booyhoo Mon 11-Feb-13 21:46:05

she really does makeIt

Embrace the red.

I've lost count how many times she's told him to 'just shut up Brendan'

NoelHeadbands Mon 11-Feb-13 21:50:41

The dark hair is dyed, their heritage is red hair, pale skin.

So's mine but some of us have red hair, some of us have dark- same with my aunts, uncles and cousins

Willdoitinaminute Mon 11-Feb-13 21:52:14

Sorry posted too early.
The police don't get involved with their own travellers but will go to next county to attend incidents there.
Certainly the traveller girls I have had contact with have not been married at 16 and are much more assertive in there relationships. I always get the feeling that they are definitely the boss. And they definitely have the brains!

thenightsky Mon 11-Feb-13 21:52:25

I think Danielle may be starting to realise she married a man with less intelligence than herself sad

sailorsgal Mon 11-Feb-13 21:52:37

She's had two hours sleep and is wearing that hideous dress. I hope he's worth it.

Oh I'll have to watch this on catch up, I do think that on this show, a lot of the girls' smiles do not reach their eyes.

Priest looks chuffed.

DontEvenThinkAboutIt Mon 11-Feb-13 21:53:54

Admit it, that wallpaper dress is amazing

It ain't tasteful but I love the way it is completely over the top.

thenightsky Mon 11-Feb-13 21:54:47

I quite like Isla's dress - especially the back view.

SuckingDiesel Mon 11-Feb-13 21:54:57

I know hundreds of Travellers and the vast majority are naturally dark (or bleached blonde). I know very few redheads.

I didn't even know you could buy glitter hairspray anymore. Now I do wink

shrimponastick Mon 11-Feb-13 21:56:39

Are the diamonds real??

I just switched on, and the wedding rings were total bling.

Booyhoo Mon 11-Feb-13 21:57:18

i wonder if the older traveller women, with hindsight, would advise their daughters, grand daughters to wait and marry older, even if it was just between the two of them and not what they said infront of others.

Booyhoo Mon 11-Feb-13 21:59:41

she doesn't look happy that he's home sad

I agree that the girls are pretty. They seem to have a natural intelligence too, but the men all seem to be as thick as pig shit. And not that bonny, as my granny would say.

Well if certainly say honeymoon period is over there smile

PinkFairyDust Mon 11-Feb-13 22:05:36

She didn't look happy that he was home sad

And I still hate with a passion the idea of grabbing sad

thekidsrule Mon 11-Feb-13 22:06:29

ive always watched BFGW but now feel it's been done to death

need to wrap it up imho

SinisterBuggyMonth Mon 11-Feb-13 23:50:34

They all have such amazing boobs though. All of them. Even the grannys.

How? <stares longingly down at a cups a sighs>

SuckingDiesel Tue 12-Feb-13 06:38:35

Tiny gene pool so lack of variation might have something to do with Them all having similar body types. There is a theory that no Irish Traveller is more than a second cousin from any other Irish Traveller (can't speak for Gypsies and other Traveller groups).

valiumredhead Tue 12-Feb-13 12:44:39

Both dh and I both thought the corset dress was so much nicer than the ones made in the series - it was over the top but looked beautifully made. I always thing the other ones look a bit thrown together.

Booyhoo Tue 12-Feb-13 15:01:46

valium do you mean compared to the dresses thelma madine made? i agree. thelmas dresses always looked like cheap stage costumes to me but last night's dress was gorgeous. i wonder how thelma feels about a new dressmaker arriving on the scene.

SuckingDiesel Tue 12-Feb-13 15:41:09

Thelma doesn't make every Traveller wedding dress...despite what she'd like people to believe. There are plenty of dressmakers and plenty of Traveller girls who don't want to wear a 20 stone wedding dress.

Booyhoo Tue 12-Feb-13 15:50:48

oh, yes i know that. i meant, i wonder how she feels about a new dressmaker getting camera time as previously she has been the only one getting any publicity.

valiumredhead Tue 12-Feb-13 15:58:22

Yes boo I did mean that, the corset one looked far better quality.

LaVolcan Wed 13-Feb-13 07:55:22

The corset one may have looked better quality, but it was still stupidly heavy.

Nancy66 Wed 13-Feb-13 10:52:13

I'm sure Brendan has been in other shows. He's just a thick spud-face thug.

Lots of domestic violence within gypsy marriages

Booyhoo Wed 13-Feb-13 13:35:20

yes he was in at least one previous show nancy. i remember his spud face. i think it was with the same girl at the very start of their relationship. i think they were out for a meal and her younger sister had to come along to chaperone. might be mixing them up with another couple though.
