anonacfr Mon 11-Feb-13 17:07:13

OK I haven't watched it yet but will do tonight so let's start on all the spoiler-y comments!

Aspiemum2 Mon 11-Feb-13 19:49:42

Ooh, another walking dead thread smile I'm just joining all the ones I see as I'm a mad, demented fan
Watching tonight smile

SuckingDiesel Mon 11-Feb-13 20:27:36

I've seen it smile

Hurry up and watch so I have someone to compare notes with grin

JennyPiccolo Mon 11-Feb-13 21:08:14

I've seen it too! Who was the woman in the prison at the end? I thought it might be lori in her wedding dress?

freetoanyhome Mon 11-Feb-13 21:12:45

where is it on? thought it wasnt till friday?

JennyPiccolo Mon 11-Feb-13 21:36:23

I would have hypothetically watched it on my hypothetical illegal telly I got off of a hypothetical guy if I had one.

SuckingDiesel Mon 11-Feb-13 21:38:06

You're right, free. This thread is o the impatient types who watch online after its been shown in the US (on Sundays). Hence the spoiler warning.

I assumed it was Rick having another hallucination and that it was Lori in her wedding dress too.

JennyPiccolo Mon 11-Feb-13 21:39:27

Or one could hypothetically watch it on a hypothetical streaming site of sketchy legality.

freetoanyhome Mon 11-Feb-13 21:39:36

where online? <impatient>

SuckingDiesel Mon 11-Feb-13 21:48:15

free, you've got (hypothetical) mail wink

SuckingDiesel Mon 11-Feb-13 21:50:39

Disclaimer: I accept no liability should your PC keel over and die of a terminal virus as a result of you impatience grin

Aspiemum2 Mon 11-Feb-13 22:11:14

Ah, am pissed off now. Entire episode virtually daryl free angry
Plus rick now looks like a total loon in front of the new lot

gimmecakeandcandy Mon 11-Feb-13 22:27:44

I NEED to know what happened! Please someone tell me!

anonacfr Mon 11-Feb-13 23:00:14

What the hell????? That was rather underwhelming.

OK why are Glenn and Rick psycho all of a sudden? And Darryl..... WHY?????? I thought Carol's reaction was heartbreaking. And Rick was all comforting until he stepped back into the prison and went mental.
And when Carol talked about her own abuse to explain why Darryl left? So sad. I love Carol. The way she silently comforted creepy goatee guy when he realised Oscar had died was really touching too.

Andrea marginally redeemed herself with the Armageddon speech but why the fuck is she so attached to Philip? He told her she was a stranger, he lied to her about capturing and holding her friends, he keeps heads in jars and his zombie daughter chained up in his bedroom (more or less) and he arranges psychotic gladiatorial combats with pet zombies. Her response? 'Don't do that. Don't push me away.' I'd love to see her reaction if she ever finds out that he was sleeping with everyone in town. She thinks she's so speshul.

Funniest moment? Andrea wimpily standing by injured guy while people are begging her to do something. Governor storms out of his house, shoots guy in the head and storms back in without a world. It nearly endeared me to him.

And did anyone notice Darryl saving that little girl from the zombie as he was running away? Aww.

gimmecakeandcandy Tue 12-Feb-13 07:54:34

So does Daryl escape in the new episode?

SuckingDiesel Tue 12-Feb-13 08:31:33

I agree, anon, it was a bit of an anticlimax after the last episode and a 2 month wait!

I just knew Daryl would side with Merle...just how long will we have to play the will he/won't he return thing until he comes back to the group? If I was Maggie, I'd have made sure I accidentally put a bullet in Merle during the confusion of the rescue mission.

Loving Tyrese (is that right?). If I were one of the prision group, I think I'd be ditching the increasingly bonkers Rick in favour of him.

gimmecakeandcandy Tue 12-Feb-13 08:48:33

So what happens?! Does the governor spare them?!

SuckingDiesel Tue 12-Feb-13 09:13:23

Rick etc. rescue them but no-one wants Merle as part of the group so Daryl has to choose and he goes off with Merle.

anonacfr Tue 12-Feb-13 09:48:57

And then Rick goes mad. He sees the ghost of Lori in the shadows wearing her wedding dress.

And governor sulks after the others escape and when his people freak out basically tells Andrea he doesn't give a shit if they all leave and get eaten. Very mature.
Oh and he tells Andrea that her friends were captured by Merle who was trying to find out where his brother was. Funnily enough he doesn't mention the part about him threatening to rape Maggie.

gimmecakeandcandy Tue 12-Feb-13 11:24:51

Aha! Thank you - I'm too impatient to wait. As long as Daryl escapes! I think they should have accepted Merle - yep he is a lowlife dog but they did chain him to that rooftop in series 1 so lots of stuff on both sides.

Can't wait to see it.

gimmecakeandcandy Tue 12-Feb-13 11:25:07

How do I get it online by the way?!

anonacfr Tue 12-Feb-13 11:31:48

Merle makes Shane look like Herschel! There is no way they could trust him around women and a baby.
He also abused Darryl for years as seen last season in the flashback episode. He's a psycho.

In fact when they start discussing his fate right after they escape he's already leering at Maggie and making racist comments to Michonne. Until (and I forgot this hilarious part) Rick just knocks him unconscious to shut him up.

SuckingDiesel Tue 12-Feb-13 11:37:03

Merle also tried to kill Michonne and tortured Glenn and Maggie (tried to kill Glenn by setting a walker on him). Hardly the sort of behaviour that was going to endear him to the group.

Aspiemum2 Tue 12-Feb-13 11:48:19

No way rick could accept Merle, especially after what he did to Glenn. I think it would have destroyed the group.
What carol was saying made sense and tbh it would have been unbelievable for daryl to walk away from his brother straight away.
Daryl will rejoin the group eventually but I think we will be subjected to a few unpleasant scenes with him and Merle first sad

gimmecakeandcandy Tue 12-Feb-13 16:26:48

You are probably right - I just don't want to lose Daryl! Lol

SuckingDiesel Tue 12-Feb-13 16:28:00

Daryl will be back...once he's had a reminder of what an utter cock Merle is.

anonacfr Tue 12-Feb-13 19:08:44

I have a feeling Darryl will end up killing Merle.

somewherewest Tue 12-Feb-13 20:28:33

I think they're setting up a Daryl/Meryl showdown too. The ambiguity of the Daryl/Meryl fight scene in Woodbury was interesting - I got the impression Meryl would've been willing to kill Daryl to save his own skin had the rescuers not shown up.

Beth kissing Rick on the cheek was interesting, especially as she's basically raising his well possibly baby.

Blondeshavemorefun Tue 12-Feb-13 20:33:26

hides eyes till friday night grin

anonacfr Tue 12-Feb-13 21:17:22

Thanks somewherewest! Now I have a mental image of Darryl beating up Meryl Streep. grin

susiedaisy Tue 12-Feb-13 23:32:02

Just marking my place, waiting until Friday smile

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter Wed 13-Feb-13 16:37:51

I think Daryl will back too. Sibling loyalty, and guilt at Merle being left on the roof is only going to last so long, sooner or later he's going to realise Merle is an arsehole. And probably kill him.

I'm wondering what's going to happen to Michonne. Hershel seems to want to keep her around - I hope she does stay, she's an interesting character.

SuckingDiesel Thu 14-Feb-13 01:30:56

I think they need Michonne. With Daryl playing happy families with Merle, they're a badass down and Michonne may not bring a lot to the group dynamic but she fulfils the badass criteria admirably.

Wickedgirl Thu 14-Feb-13 21:12:50

I really felt sorry for carol........she had such a lovely relationship with Daryl.

I can't bare Merle and really hope he isn't it in for much longer.

plonko Sat 16-Feb-13 17:56:23

I nearly cried when carol realised darryl hadn't returned - that's as good as dead in their world. But he's got his crossbow back so I'm sure he'll be fine grin and he clearly has to kill merle.

Yy to the governor just shooting that poor guy in the head when all Andrea could do was blub! I rather enjoyed this episode. And only two days to the next!

Melty Sun 17-Feb-13 17:29:54

I just got round to watching it.
Glenn is a bit psycho because of Maggie. He (like most partners of victimised women) is having trouble becuase of his failure to be a hero.
He couldnt keep her safe. Never mind that Maggie is fairly kick ass herself.
I think they will have a difficult relationship now, until Maggie gets to beat the crap out of the guvnor. (unspoiled)

Tyrese will have to stay around for a bit. Hes v good in the comics/books.
I did have a snigger though when the two blokes were all "its only and woman and a child"
Yeah. But a psycho child with no qualms about blowing your heads off and a woman who will blow you head off to protect what is left of her family.

I think Darryl will be back. I expect that Meryl will finally get on his last nerve and he will either get him with the crossbow, or a walker will get him and Daryl will have to bow his head off.

Aspiemum2 Mon 18-Feb-13 12:05:00

Ooh, I've just watched this weeks. It's very goodsmile

WhichIsBest Mon 18-Feb-13 13:34:06

Yeah I was underwhelmed too.
Rick being mad is a bit boring.
Daryl being missing is sad.
Andrea is behaving totally unbelievably.

I like Tyrese though. And I hope Michonne stays.

SuckingDiesel Mon 18-Feb-13 15:37:33

I've just watched this week's episode as well. Much better than last week.

Aspiemum2 Mon 18-Feb-13 16:19:36

It was, one particular scene made me jump though. I was totally not expecting it sad.
Really enjoyed it, last week had a series 2 drag about it but back on track now smile

Melty Mon 18-Feb-13 17:25:30

Hang on, this is the spoiler thread, isnt it.
So we can discuss what happened in the US Sunday night version???
Everyones gone a bit coy all of a suddden!

FairyJen Mon 18-Feb-13 17:34:32

Just marking spot will be back on later to discuss fully! This Definately the advance spoile thread right before I ruin it for everyone??? like last time blush

Aspiemum2 Mon 18-Feb-13 18:12:45

Melty I'm being cautious as I don't want to ruin it for people who watch at the end of the week.

SuckingDiesel Mon 18-Feb-13 18:46:43

Me too, Aspiemim...but Melty is right. This IS the spoiler thread for those if us that can't wait til Friday so no need to be guarded about what we say.

And with that in mind...

Hurrah! Daryl's back! Alas, with Merle in tow but we can't have everything.

Poor Axel. I knew as soon as he had more than 2 lines that he'd be doing a T-Dog before long.

Bored with the crazy Rick now. Hope the Guvnors little visit is enough to snap him back to reality although I think not judging by Carl's comments in the preview of episode 11.

SuckingDiesel Mon 18-Feb-13 18:48:50

And wasn't Lori looking good. Getting butchered, shot in the head and then devoured by a walker really agrees with her grin

FairyJen Mon 18-Feb-13 19:07:23

Arf @ "doing a t-dog" grin

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter Mon 18-Feb-13 19:11:52

SuckingDiesel grin

Just watched this week's episode - let out a little cheer when Daryl said he was going back. Saying that, I know this isn't going to be popular, but I'm actually starting to feel a bit sorry for Merle. I know he's a horrible, murderous bastard, but the back story suggests there is a reason he turned out that way. Although, I suppose Daryl didn't ...

And how evil is the Governor? Really hoping Andrea comes to her senses, pokes his other eye out and takes control of the town.

When is back on tele? Does anyone know?

It's ok I've just found it! Phew so glad I haven't missed it.

Aspiemum2 Mon 18-Feb-13 21:21:51

What I want to know is how nobody shot the bloody guv'nor. He was just stood there in full view and not one bloody bugger managed to get anywhere near him!
Generally their aim is pretty shocking, perhaps they are too used to close combat?

superoz Mon 18-Feb-13 23:05:47

I've got some questions?
Who was the masked assailant who drove the truck full of walkers in and ran off? Possibly female (guessing looking at their physique)??
Surely Glenn and the Governor's paths would have crossed before they reached the prison?
I wish Glenn would stop being all revenge-y and get back to normal, though now Merle has reappeared he might want to kill him.
What happened to the 4 who were taken in by Carl? Have they gone their own way now as Rick said they couldn't stay while having "a moment" in the last episode or are they still locked up?
Glad Daryl is back! But poor Axel - just when he was getting on with Carol too.

SuckingDiesel Tue 19-Feb-13 08:23:46

The driver of the van puzzled me too, superoz. I'll need to watch it again but I think the driver got out and ran to the prison watchtower and then got shot. We definitely saw someone getting killed on the watchtower and as it wasn't one of the prison group, I can only think it was the driver.

Aspiemum2 Tue 19-Feb-13 10:36:36

Maggie shot the man in the watch tower, he wasn't the driver. The driver ran off past Michonne and presumably escaped, I missed how though

SuckingDiesel Tue 19-Feb-13 11:00:39

Who was in the watch tower then?

Aspiemum2 Tue 19-Feb-13 12:00:04

Presumably just a random from the governors crew. Think at least one of his shots would have got Carol, glad she didn't get shot but was a bit ... hmm

Aspiemum2 Tue 19-Feb-13 12:00:51

No idea how he got there without being spotted though, you'd have thought they would have been more alert!

damppatchnot Wed 20-Feb-13 22:08:08

Oooo you've seen the next episode!

Is Daryl coming back?

SuckingDiesel Sat 23-Feb-13 14:40:28

Just rewatched and paid better attention this time.

Daryl wins the award for walker kill of the season so far when he pulled the one out of the car where the mexican woman and baby were and slammed it's head in the tailgate with a very satisfying squelch grin Also noticed that Merle just stood back and watched Daryl clear that bridge of walkers. I think he realised that he needs Daryl now more than Daryl needs him.

Much as I'm bored with Rick's descent into madness, Andrew Lincoln is amazing in the role. Also love the scant nod he and Daryl exchange after Daryl rescues him from the walkers...love those two on screen together.

Was that Bono in the guard tower? grin

damppatchnot Sun 24-Feb-13 09:16:14

Love Daryl grin he's my fav

I hope he gets it on with carol wink

damppatchnot Sun 24-Feb-13 09:17:32

And felt a bit sorry for merv

I hope he turns a corner and sees off the gov

damppatchnot Sun 24-Feb-13 09:20:01

Oh and !

Was shouting at tv when michonne was running to help Hershel with her sword

Love her

Spoonful Sun 24-Feb-13 13:29:16

I thought Andrea was going to set off through the woods and maybe see what was happening and then she could shoot the governor. I think she has to kill him really, eventually, to redeem herself from being such an idiot!

NoHank Sun 24-Feb-13 14:26:26

HERE you all are! I've been over on the other thread waffling nonsense.

I agree the first ep was a bit meh but the second has started ramping it up again. I thought Daryl was amazing on the bridge and yes to the nod to Rick at the end.

I am sooo glad this is back but will have to try and hide my eyes til Friday nights.

I can't see how Merle can stay with the group after trying to kill a fair few of them already but I hope he doesn't start having a negative effect on Daryl. I hope Rick snaps out of it soon too. Can't wait to see Carols reaction on having Daryl back.

Wickedgirl Sun 24-Feb-13 17:55:44

It is lovely that Daryl is back.....it's just a shames that he took his brother back with him

I really hope that someone takes the governor out soon, he is really annoying me now........and they can take out Andrea at the same time

Adversecamber Sun 24-Feb-13 18:02:34

As an aside a Walking Dead x box game is being released in March of Merle and Daryl kicking ass before they met up with the group in series one.

The whole Lori hallucinations thing got on my nerves.

I felt rather upset when the Colonel Sanders look alike prisoner got taken out.

SuckingDiesel Sun 24-Feb-13 19:05:22

Arf at Colonel Sanders grin I knew he reminded me of someone!

Much as I hate Merle, I'm starting to have some sympathy for the character as we're starting to learn how their childhood has shaped the brothers. I think the actor who plays Merle is doing a brilliant job.

Blondeshavemorefun Sun 24-Feb-13 22:23:00

how come no one managed to shoot the Guv when he was standing upright by the car hmm

who was the driver in the van - def seemed female but why let in the zombilies sad

yah for darryl - and merle saving the day - assume he will be allowed back in prison now lol

Adversecamber Mon 25-Feb-13 10:59:23

I know the Governor has an American accent but is anyone just a teeny bit annoyed that the baddie is being played by a Brit yet again.

SuckingDiesel he was finger lickin good, I was expecting him to fight with Daryl over Carol.

SuckingDiesel Mon 25-Feb-13 13:02:43

Yes, I suppose it's a bit stereotypical having a Brit play the bad guy but having a Brit as the good guy evens it up.

Anyone else watched this week's episode yet? I predict much shouting at the screen when you do wink I'll say no more til someone else has seen it.

JennyPiccolo Mon 25-Feb-13 19:43:10

The governor is the spotting image of my creepy ex. He makes my skin crawl, which sort of adds to the walking dead tension. Watching this weeks episode tonight, will report back!

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter Mon 25-Feb-13 19:46:13

I've just watched this weeks - yes! Much shouting at the screen smile

JennyPiccolo Mon 25-Feb-13 22:48:18

Ugh, Andrea is a dick. She best get him killed soon before he does it to her. How would she get out if Woodbury if she killed him though, without being caught by the henchmen?

superoz Tue 26-Feb-13 01:13:14

Just seen the latest episode! Bit of a slow burner but the last few minutes with Andrea made me tut. Stupid woman! I was half expecting the Governor to be pretending to sleep and then jump up and off Andrea. Oh well I was only hoping...

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter Tue 26-Feb-13 16:35:51

I smirked at Daryl's comment to Andrea about Axle - something along the lines of "we liked him, he was one of us" grin

IdaBlankenship Wed 27-Feb-13 21:31:05

Help! I haven't read the thread as I don't want to know what happened - but dammit, blast and other things - why was the return not advertised more??? I have just managed to catch ep 10 by chance tonight ans recorded it, but I have missed ep 9 <weeps> - is it repeated anywhere or can it be downloaded (legally obvs).
Oh I cannot not know what happened to Darryl!

Wickedgirl Sun 03-Mar-13 06:40:42

Superoxide....... Me too. Do you think she'll do it? I think she's too pathetic to which is a shame as he attacked her friends.

SuckingDiesel Mon 04-Mar-13 11:19:35

Well, episode 12 is...erm...interesting confused

Aspiemum2 Mon 04-Mar-13 11:27:56

I haven't watched it yet - good interesting or bad?

SuckingDiesel Mon 04-Mar-13 13:25:55

Just a bit of a departure from what I was expecting at this stage with only 4 more episodes to go in this season.

JennyPiccolo Mon 04-Mar-13 14:52:57

Watching it now. Pretty out there so far.

JennyPiccolo Mon 04-Mar-13 15:09:03

Do you think they're getting money from Hyundai? That is one shiny post apocalyptic car.

SuckingDiesel Mon 04-Mar-13 20:24:15

I've noticed that too about the car. It's in bloody good nick considering the environment and that it regularly has zombies swarming all over it.

Hyundai...official sponsors of the zombie apocalypse grin

I know the episode is important in tying up a loose end from Season 1, showing Carl's development and Michonne earning Rick's trust but I still can't help feeling it was a little bit of a waste of screen time. With a distinct lack of Daryl...which is never a good thing.

JennyPiccolo Mon 04-Mar-13 22:08:56

I suppose it was quite good for michonnes character development in that she spoke more than a sentence.

Aspiemum2 Mon 04-Mar-13 23:08:17

I loved that episode, it was sort of a path of healing for Rick & Carl. There were some touching scenes, a few moments of dark humour.
Hopefully Rick now has his head straight ready to kick some serious butt next week smile

SuckingDiesel Mon 11-Mar-13 17:34:46

Seems like we're just on a slow build to the finale now...

TwllBach Mon 11-Mar-13 19:03:47

Oh but I've been on the other thread <sulk>

I really liked the last episode, but I prefer the human side of it IYSWIM? I like seeing how the characters evolve and how the relationships develop as opposed to seeing zombies etc. for me, the apocalypse is a vehicle for showing how people are really each others' worst enemy. This season the biggest threat to rick et al have not been the walkers, it's been the governor, and to them that seems to be the biggest blow, because they're human. And yet, rick will now happily drive past the hitchhiker.

JennyPiccolo Mon 11-Mar-13 21:06:42

Tense much? I thought he was going to ask for the baby, to replace his zombie daughter. Was almost relieved when he said michonne.

Also fucksake Glenn and maggie.no shagging when your supposed to be on a zombie apocalypse lookout.

TwllBach Mon 11-Mar-13 21:21:09

I am disgustingly jealous that some of you watch it on Sundays and I'm stuck waiting till Friday.

TwllBach Mon 11-Mar-13 21:22:13

... But I'm glad to hear that maggie and Glenn are shagging again grin

JennyPiccolo Mon 11-Mar-13 22:04:54

In the comics glen and maggie try to have a baby. Don't know if they manage it, I've only read about halfway.
Baby Judith (and lori, who survives childbirth) are killed in the comics by one of the people from Woodbury when they attack the prison.
Really hope it doesn't happen in the series, I would find it v upsettinghmm Though I know realistically some other characters will probably be offed before the end of the series.

Wickedgirl Thu 21-Mar-13 21:10:16

Was anyone else willing rick to shoot the governor?

somewherewest Thu 21-Mar-13 21:23:54

Anyone seen the latest ep? They have done the impossible and made me feel sorry for Andrea. I really really hope they don't go down the torture porn line.

SuckingDiesel Fri 22-Mar-13 20:36:26

I forgot to watch online this week. I discovered Sons of Anarchy on Lovefilm and I've lost far too many hours to it this week.

Aspiemum2 Mon 25-Mar-13 13:22:58

Just seen this weeks episode. Am absolutely shocked and quite sad
Please someone else watch it soon!

JennyPiccolo Mon 25-Mar-13 15:00:52

I just watched it! Poor darryl. He can cry on my bosom if he wants.

Aspiemum2 Mon 25-Mar-13 16:59:45

I know bless him, was probably the saddest scene yet.

TwllBach Mon 25-Mar-13 19:41:49

Oh but why why why is he crying??? I can't watch till Friday

Someone PM me!!!

Don't PM me grin I look forward to Friday all week...

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter Mon 25-Mar-13 20:17:22

Just seen this week's episode - poor Daryl. And poor Merle, he was an evil sod, but didn't deserve that.

JennyPiccolo Mon 25-Mar-13 20:24:42

How come he turned though? It looked like he got shot in the head.

superoz Mon 25-Mar-13 23:38:19

Just seen it! Ooooh wasn't expecting that, Merle was a stirrer but I was hoping for some redemption for him.
They didn't show where he got shot, but when Daryl found him after it appeared he had a gunshot wound in his back.
Wondering what will happen to Andrea. Hoping Tyrese and his sister will switch sides when the Guvnor reveals his true colours.

JennyPiccolo Tue 26-Mar-13 08:26:22

So the governor shot him in the chest so he would come back? The dick.

Do you think merle was suicidal? I don't know why you'd go into that situation with no way out. Surely having an escape route planned would be the most important bit.

SuckingDiesel Tue 26-Mar-13 10:23:36

Poor Daryl. I'll miss Merle's character. He was a great antagonist and the actor who plays him is a joy to watch.

And yes, I think the Governor shot him in the chest on purpose. A shot in the head is a mercy killing to him and he wasn't going to show Merle any mercy. He wasn't in a situation where he could prolong the agony so the next best thing is to condemn him to walkerhood.

Finding it hard to care what happens to Andrea but I imagine she'll end up back in the prison crew for season 4.

CheerfulYank Thu 28-Mar-13 12:54:47

I just watched it last night and cried so hard! (I'd had a shitty day and am awash with pregnancy hormones, but still...) I'm in America but don't have a TV so I wait and buy them on Amazon.

They actually made me like Merle that episode (I loved his interactions with Michonne and Carol) and then...oh, poor Daryl!

I will comfort him if need be. I'm willing to make that sacrifice. wink

CheerfulYank Thu 28-Mar-13 12:56:17

And what a bastarding bastard that Governor is. Just die already.

Quite like the cut of Tyreese's jib, I must say. Badass and moral.

Blondeshavemorefun Thu 28-Mar-13 23:52:00

Ahhhh

Read briefly someone for shot

Must not look at this thread till Friday night / Saturday when I've watched

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 29-Mar-13 23:47:36

Agree guv shot in chest so that merle didn't die but came back

Felt so sorry for Darryl - quite happy to comfort him

'Blondes hikes bosoms'

Didn't get why he let michonne go but glad he did smile

Last one next week sad

CheerfulYank Sat 30-Mar-13 02:29:45

I think because of the things she said. I thought she diffused the situation admirably. <girl crush on Michonne> Also I think Merle, racist awful bastard though he was, would have a hard time actually hurting a woman. When the governor said he was going to "talk" to Maggie in a previous episode, Merle looked distinctly uncomfortable.

TwllBach Sat 30-Mar-13 08:46:58

Oh oh oh I'm watching it today! Did I miss something? I thought they had decided not to take michone to the governor?

I said on the other thread that I loved the exchange between carol and merle about being a late bloomer.

I'm only at the first break but I'm sure this is the most we've heard daryl speak all season. He manages to look so vulnerable and confused when talking to merle sad and he really didn't like the comparison between merle and Glenn and maggie and rick and michone.

CheerfulYank Sat 30-Mar-13 15:18:36

Merle knew Rick would change his mind about sending Michonne to the Governor (and he did) so he took her himself in hopes that the Governor would give them some time. He wanted to protect Daryl.

MrsJaqenHgar Mon 01-Apr-13 14:40:21

Oh. My. God.

Just seen the finale. Anyone else watched it yet?

Watching it tonight, hope it's a good one. Will avoid this thread until then!

CheerfulYank Mon 01-Apr-13 16:18:51

Watching it tonight but have already read spoilers. blush

JennyPiccolo Mon 01-Apr-13 22:51:21

Am halfway through an incredibly slow stream of it as clearly everyone in Europe is trying to watch it online simultaneously. TENSION.

MrsJaqenHgar Mon 01-Apr-13 23:11:18

I think the world is trying to watch Game of Thrones and grinding the Internet to a halt.

JennyPiccolo Mon 01-Apr-13 23:37:17

It felt like the end of a show rather than the end of a series. There wasn't really a cliff hanger.

M0naLisa Mon 01-Apr-13 23:48:37

I've just watched this online. Wow!! Didn't feel like the end of a series though. Felt more like the end of a show. Glad the governor has signed up for season 4. It should take off where season 3 ended.

CheerfulYank Tue 02-Apr-13 03:43:56

Ugh, the Gov is such a bag of dicks. JUST DIE.

JennyPiccolo Tue 02-Apr-13 07:04:58

Aye, I wish the gov would get tae fuck as well.its gone downhill since he turned up. I hate all the machine gunny flighty scenes where they shoot 10 bajillion bullets but nobody dies.

CheerfulYank Tue 02-Apr-13 07:24:16

Right? I mean, obviously one can't claim "that's so unrealistic" about a zombie show, but really, starting wars and whatnot?

M0naLisa Tue 02-Apr-13 07:29:19

It's cos he doesn't like not been the only leader but he fucked himself right up the arse in the finale!

redlac Tue 02-Apr-13 07:50:49

So disappointed in that season finale - last weeks episode with Darryl and Merle was much better.

MrsJaqenHgar Tue 02-Apr-13 09:47:28

I agree that it didn't feel like a finale but it did tie up a few loose ends while leaving plenty wide open for S4.

Poor Milton. I really liked his character. And I liked that he retained his decency to the end. He didn't go the power hungry, blood thirsty way of the Governor.

Andrea. Meh. If she'd spent a bit more time getting the pliers and a bit less time gassing, she'd have got out of there alive. Or if she'd knifed the Governor when she had the chance...However, her final scene with Michonne was well done. I almost shed a tear but that was more at Michonne's reaction than mourning the loss of Andrea.

Nice to see Rick's moral compass pointing back in the right direction. It'll be interesting to see the conflict between him and Carl as Carl becomes more and more affected by growing up in a ZA. His speech about killing the Woodbury kid to stop him killing one of them was exactly what the Governor said, wasn't it? Kill or be killed.

And why, oh why did Martinez not put a few rounds in the Governor's back when he had the chance? Neither he nor the other guy looked particularly thrilled at embarking on a road trip with the psycho so why didn't they just kill him? I guess we'll find out in S4.

Wickedgirl Tue 02-Apr-13 15:53:17

I didn't want merle or Milton to die. sad

I so would have shot the governor when he started shooting the "soldiers". I certainly wouldn't have got into the car with him afterwards

CheerfulYank Tue 02-Apr-13 17:35:22

I know! Martinez should have ended it right there.

RAFdad Fri 05-Apr-13 10:57:07

I'm waiting until they all come out on blue-ray while DW is out I can have me time. have watched series1. fantastic. I'm a huge zombie fan and series 1 didn't disappoint.

NoHank Sat 06-Apr-13 22:40:07

Series 2 can be a bit slow but that is only my opinion.

Series 3 however was a blinder from the beginning. Again just my opinion grin

ipswichwitch Sat 06-Apr-13 22:58:45

But when's series 4 coming out???

JennyPiccolo Sat 06-Apr-13 23:56:23

October.confused

GhostOfTheRobot Sun 07-Apr-13 09:16:20

YY! Why was Andrea chatting away and not focusing on picking up the fecking pliers?
Love Daryl's Paul Weller hair. Michonne's reaction to poorly Andrea was generating the lip-wobble for me. I love this show. [satisfied sigh]
