That's it really!!
Who's excited??
well I wasn't because until I read this I didn't know.
Now I am uber excited!!!!
Is it still going to be shown on BBC3?
Sunday 3rd feb.
BBC 3
10pm
says so, right here!!
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!
I am off to announce on FB as am sure none of my fellow BH friends are aware - so exciting!may need a life
That's how I found out!!
I 'liked' the BH page and they kindly updated me on the date
Literally..... CAN. NOT. WAIT.
oo, I need to like that page too then!
Fabulous news, was very recently wondering when it would be back.
Marks place. I love Hal!
I spent the first half of the last series sulking because Mitchell, Nina and George were gone..
I only realise show good series 4 was towards the end.
Won't make that mistake again!!
(Also loves Hal)
'I only realised how'
Bloody typing!!
I'm in !
I love Hal more
Wow this is the best news since I discovered my Tivo has kindly recorded the first episode of the new series of The Good Wife, when I didn't even realise there was a new series
Is thingy-from-Misfits'-brother still in it as the werewolf?
He sure is .
Marking place
No, that's not possible Stila!you can have my Mitchell hand me down
Totally converted to Hal the moment he pull that stool forward on the date with Alex
Ha ha just caming looking for fellow BH fans. I am very excited, last series was waaaay to short and waaaay too long ago.
Who doesn't love Hal????
BBC 3 have been re showing them at silly o'clock (about 3 or 4am) , watched the final episode of season 4 today . Had totally forgotten about Mr Rook ! The only downside seems to be its back down to 6 episodes this series .
Even more excited now!!!
No!!!! only 6 episodes???

I Wonder if it will go to a new series after that?
Marking my place
Another one, I mean
So excited after I saw the trailer last night. Thought no one could replace Mitchell but total Hal convert
I just watched the last episode of the last series again, will miss Annie but looking forward to seeing Hal again
I can't wait but I can't remember what happened at the end of the last series with the baby
The last 2 episodes of the last series are on iPlayer at the moment. In short Annie saves humanity and sacrifices the baby.
The baby is gone never.
ANyone like the BH page on FB or Twitter? They keep winding me up by posting little teasers. <more excited than a five year old at Christmas emoticon>
Yeah, I liked the FB page!
Keeps me going in the endlessly long wait for the start
Tomorrow is BH day!!
I am giddy with excitement !

I thought the new series was due, given that the last series is being repeated now.
!!!!!!
Great. I like Tom and Hal (I love a repressed man!), so it will be like a marvellous supernatural sandwich!
I liked Alex as well; I think she's quite a worthy successor to Annie in her mixture of bravado and vulnerability. Her pandering to males (well, her whole family is/was male) was really quite sad: asking Hal to kiss her "and I won't even look at you", saying there wasn't a bloke alive that she couldn't talk to... Annie was quite handmaidenish, too, especially with that toerag Mitchell, so there's loads if space for her to grow.
<nails all colours to the mast>
Woo hoo ...... 8 sleeps is now 4hrs
Tick....tock....tick...tock...tick...tock...
Heloooooooo
8 mins to go....
Won't be watching until tomorrow so will join in then
Loved it!
OMG
and breath!
I want to watch it again , still laughing at 'your mum's so fat her blood type is Ragu' .
Brilliant wasn't it?! So many fabulous lines!
Yes fabulous ! 'No I'm not going to bum you'
Oh, Hal. Just.....oh, Hal.
Well that was an amazing start to the new series, just brilliant. Loved the double marigolds line too and his general OCD tidying agnst!!
I have put it on series record so I can watch over and over. <sigh>
Just got here!!
I loved that!! Great laugh out loud lines and three fantastic bad guys...all so different!!
I particularly like mr Rook!!
Just finished watching it, Hal is so scrummy
So this is Hal's third trinity! I wonder if he'll get it right this time (cf St Peter's three denials)
To lower the tone completely, I still hanker after the supernatural sandwich!
I wondered if Hal getting the trinity right this time will be a part of the three of them getting rid of satan properly this time.
(Only what we are all thinking, plu
)
I was wondering how many 'reasons' they will come up with to show Hal topless
I also thought the child old one was really funny!
I started a thread about it last night and no one answered me!
I love Tom. Hes my favourite, such a nice lad and I find find him pretty attractive
Tom has lovely eyes but its Hal all the way for me!!
Having read some FB comments I have found out they shot the raising the devil bit just down the road from my mum ......Hal about half a mile away from my mums house ! had I known I'd have been down ............stalking !
Great start of the series!
Stila you mean you were that close to Hal the filming and you didn't go????
Anyone else getting tired of hearing people moan on about how these three are rubbish and how they should bring back the original actors. Yes the originals were excellent but so are these guys so just accept and get on with your lives!!
Tom and Hal are just as good as Mitchell and George IMO. Alex is growing on me but I do miss Annie the most.
The originals were good but I also like the three that are on it now. Especially Tom
So glad Annie has gone and isn't wafting around the place any more.
What a fantastic start to the new series, can't wait until next Sunday.
I was wondering how many 'reasons' they will come up with to show Hal topless
Yes, quite a sight, wasn't it?! Mind you, it's moments like those when I remember that he is an actor, not ak-cherly a shy, appealing OCD vampire.
It all very nice to look at, but I like him better with his shirt on.... apart from when he and Lady Catherine were amusing themselves with with the rather heavy phallic imagery of the stake. That was most enjoyable.
Actually, I should be ashamed of myself. I've just been getting indignant on Mary Beard's behalf, for being judged by her looks (and abused for it - complete wankers!). I know Being Human isn't history, and these actors have in fact been chosen for us to leer at, but there's loads of plotting to discuss, too, and I think it;s been done very well.
<high minded pose>
Incidentally, did anyone else spot that Toby Whithouse was playing the Home Secretary (disclaimer: I only spotted it in the credits; I'm not the sort of geek who recognises TV writers, only Mark Gatiss, and that only because he's been in Sherlock, and also played Mr Snow in BH)? That must have been fun, especially committing the evil of Bringing Austerity to Our Protective Frameworks! Talk about dismantling the social safety net!
It's interesting that Rook was proposing one of the same old solutions: install an ally, and let him get away with a certain amount (the per diems and consensual blood letting), even though that didn't work out terribly well with Mitchell (nor with Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden, I seem to recall), whereas the trinity bond seems to tie down the worst of vampire nature (and isn't too bad for the werewolf and ghost, either). What a shame it has to be chosen: imagine Herrick and Annie having been forced to live together! Quiiiick! Where's my door?!
Herrick and Annie did live together - briefly. It didn't turn out well.
I know what you mean by phwoaring over actors but they get paid for being there for our entertainment and, in many case, because they are pretty to look at so I don't feel so bad about that but Mary Beard has not put herself in that role so I think there's a world of difference. This means we are allowed to lust over Hal!
TheSmallPrint I had no idea he was there , I'd have been whizzing down the M4 if I had .( and there would have been a great big shiny thread about it on here ) So alas my only claim is he was 'this close' to the family home and possibly had to pass the end of the road to get there .
I think there have been less anti cast comments this time . I do wonder if half of them really watch it or are just professional moaners and they need reminding that they left , they weren't written out .....THEY LEFT ! If they brought them back I bet the same people would still be moaning
I did read that TW had a cameo but it was only after that I realised it was the Home Secretary .
Herrick ........... I think I miss him more than Annie ,George and Mitchell
Herrick was a fabulous character - so sinister.
Yes, Herrick was "the banality of evil", and this new Crumb/Cram character also so banal as a mortal that I wonder if he's meant to reflect Herrick, too, a little, as well as what he suggested about Hal. It's plot recycling, yes, but for creatures as long-lived as vampires, I guess the same things come up again and again: "nothing new under the sun" (or, as the lovely Mary Beard would say, "nihil novi sub sole").
By the way, I can't remember at all thst business of Annie with Herrick. When did that happen?
Yes...I also want to shout at the computer...THEY LEFT!! THE WRITERS EITHER HAD TO END IT OR RE- INVENT THE SHOW!!
Not that much different from Dr Who in that respect
Why are you all on about Hal? Its all about Tom! He is lovely. Id take him over Hal any time
pluCaChange Nina and George fetched him ( Herrick) home having found him confused in a hospital - they kept him in the attic (series 3 )
SP you may have Tom <gracious> but Hal is mine, I saw him first!!
Err I don't think so !
<puts on boxing gloves>
I had totally forgotten about Herrick-the-amnesiac!
As for these threats to fight, we really have no need: BH is jumping all over the centuries, so all we have to do is pick our decade/century and we can each have free rein!
I reckon that if Hal can manage 50-60 years "dry", that could mean about one cycle a century, so five or so, given that he's about 500.
Access to Tom is correspondingly more limited. (Interesting that Hal's kind of imitating the werewolf bloodlust cycle, over a much larger timescale. I wonder whether there's a metaphorical "chicken on a string" which could circumscribe him? Maybe those domino mandalas Leo used to set him?)
Plu you are so sensible <packs gloves away>
They must refer back to his time with Leo at some point, it was Leo who helped him control himself.
TheSmallPrint, I hope it's not boringly sensible, just an idea to preserve our solidarity on this thread.
I think Hal's prequel on the BBC site is Leo's persuading him. It takes a bit of a different complexion, now that we know he's aware of his cycles when he's in the bloody, irrational phase. Oops, does that sound like a massive PMT sufferer to you all, too?! The inagery surrounding these vampires and werewolves is turning out to be less supernatural than I imagined!
No not boring - how can you be boring when you love BH??
That discription does make him sound a bit hormonal!
Aw, thanks!
...although you can't assume I'm nice or interesting based on appreciating BH! After all, "Crumb" was rather a boring bastard, and although he was originally a victim, that oathos didn't last long!
Waiting for DD to awaken from her mega-nap, I started rewatching Doctor Who on the iplayer, "The Doctor's Wife", and he's been saying "That's impossible" rather a lot. What conservative-minded creatures the very long-lived must be!
Leaked Rook Emails from his blog.
I love BH a lot.
I love the little extras BH do , like last year with Cutlers tweets .
I don't remember Cutler's tweets. I feel like I've missed out now!
I wasn't on twitter last year, but do remember him tweeting and YouTubing. That scene with Allison telling them about "trending... on... twitter?" was very amusing!
Wow just found this thread
I'm normally these but totally missed it this time apparently.
Have watched BH since pilot days and have loved it ask the way through although I was more than a little gutted when the originals were killed off but I have been pleasantly surprised with the new dynamic of the show even Alex had turned out to be quite entertaining.
Quite gutted now that its the last series, I will miss it... Yes I am a saddo lol
Oh no...... How could I have missed this
.
<off to iplayer>
So this is the last ever series? The old "all good things come to an end" line being trotted out.
Yes they were from the same twitter account as they showed him using on BH - about werewolves being spotted in S.Wales .
And as for today's news . . . . . GUTTED
(bet those irritating knobs who want the original cast back are delighted !)
What news??? Have they said they're not making any more?
. That's made me miserable.
just about expresses how I feel about that.
It could be kite-flying, to prompt us to express how we feel...?
Lets hope it goes out with a bang
Gutted.
Me too. There is life in this.
I'm really disappointed about the end coming I like the new characters

Happened with The Fades too. Reality TV is cheaper to make :'(
Oh yes The Fades, I wondered what happened to that.
But I guess with the old ones gone and now fighting the devil there isn't much left
Fucksocks. I love Being Human. Proper gutted
On a positive note, only one more sleep til episode 2!! <excited>
The optimist in me is hoping Toby Whithouse has pulled the plug because they've just offered him the job of Doctor Who showrunner pleasepleaseplease don't let it be Gatiss his scripts are pish
Some one on FB suggested that Damien Molony should be the new Doctor after Matt Smith.... I have to say, that idea definitely has wings!!!
ooh yes , I like that idea !
I was so pissed off about the whole thing I refused to click on any links to the new trailer but last night I caught it on tv .... jeez it looks bloody fantastic !
Damien Molony would be great as Dr Who.
You'd never see him topless again, you realise!but, as I said I preferred him clothed, I'm all right with that idea
Well Matt Smith was topless in The Lodger (may have spent some time with that on freezeframe) so there's precedent. I could see himas the Doctor. Especially if he was allowed to use his Irish accent. Mmmmm.
24 minutes to go!
Anybody else watching? I am on my own and a bit scared.... Is he going to eat his neice? :-0
I'm recording to watch later! Don't want to watch it alone now
I would... but it's just so good!
I'm watching it. I loves Tom I do
Yes, he is doing such a good job of turning into a really well rounded & complex character, lots of potential for storylines and I really fancy feel for him. They have chosen a great baddie this season, I've never really been scared watching it before tonight!
I fancy Tom too. Everyone else loves Hal but hes not for me.
Little Boy scared me! Mr Crumb is a nutter!
Captain Hatch is turning into a great baddie
I love the sinister charm .
Have to say I jumped when the man with sticks and rope appeared .
Don't say that! I'm only at the food fight. Id love to help wash Tom after that
Is Captain Hatch the devil? Is that the body he took over?
Yes , he is the devil and he's trapped in the body of the 'local mad man' from back in the day who is now a crotchety man in a hotel in Barry.
Thought Hal might have recognised him.
Gave me goosebumps several times tonight. Gutted that it's the last series.
Hal didn't see his face , its just us that saw him when he hid behind the wall.
Blimey last night was a bit terrifying! SP, he had a mask on his face when Hal 'saw' him, we saw hime hiding when he ran off as Stila says.
Loved the food fight.
Last night actually scared me! I had to put a funny film on after before I went to bed so the Men with sticks and ropes weren't waiting for me
didnt watch this till nearly midnight and when the drowned twin came into view i almost shat myself
let alone the other 2 ghosts - they totally freaked me out
Blonde I was late watching it too!
scarey eh fanjo i normally love creepy stuff but that boy really spooked me
Blimey!! I've taped it and am watching tonight...bracing myself for men with sticks and ropes. (Whatever that means!!)
It was seriously spooky. I loved it.
Says on digital spy that The Fades was axed in favour of Being Human.
I wonder what will replace this. Hopefully not more teens shag on holiday shenanigans (yawn).
Is this the last ever series?!
Hope they use the actor who plays Tom in something else
Annie encountered men with sticks and ropes didn't she, or at least heard about them from someone else back when they still lived in Bristol.
Such brilliant vignettes this week: "Crumb" weeping till his fangs come out; the geekish bonding with Rook's former colleague (no wonder his colleagues despised him...); the sticks-amd-ropes men! Pity about that silly speech by Hal while throwing Crumb out, and the silly boy before he loosens up
The theme of this series is definitely management satire! "Crumb"'s appalling manager, David "Malaprop' Brent, and the Devil's Patsy (very subtle) have disappeared in a wave of gore, so it's only a matter of time before the Home Secretary is killed in awful and bloody circumstances, too!
If the series has to end, I predict Alex will save Hal somehow (forgiveness being her unfinisged business), then Tom will kill Hal. Tom"s too tough to die!
<gavel>
What was The Fades about?
The Fades was fantasy horror. A vengeful spirit - or Fade - found that eating human flesh meant he could come back to our world corporeal form to take over. Then all the trapped ghosts were at it.
I thoroughly enjoyed last nights episode, it was scary and disturbing in many ways with lost of funny bits mixed in.
It's good
The Fades
Sounds terrifying! Who would cancel anything like that?!
Am I the only one who watches from behind a cushion??
cyan I had my duvet downstairs and i kept covering my eyes when I jumped. Hope they do a shower scene with Tom
Ooooh, cushion good, duvet better! Thanks for the tip!
Was so scared after the first episode that I told DH we wouldn't be able to watch it any more... But it's too good not to!
I watch it alone, it scares the shit out of me at times
It's just not the same without George Annie and Mitchell though
Hal is nice to look at and love toms character but Alex? Nope
And the devil story?! Mmmm nope
I do miss the original 3 - tho Hal is cute
Sad it's coming to an ending but better ends now then does silly story lines
Phil Davis makes a great devil. He does menacing & evil very well IMO.
Wish it wasn't the last series though.
Wow scary episode, made me jump a mile, funniest bits was Hal telling Tom he always finds a way to be 'shitter' and when patsy the manager stopped talking when gazing at Hal and Hal said 'you do realise you've stopped talking?'
I thought it was a great episode!! So sinister! But I also liked the humour at the end with the geek fest on the beach between crumb and that other guy who wanted to be recruited.
I thought it was an excellent episode too. So far, this series is much better than the last one.
Bit of trivia, the actor who plays Tom is the real life brother of the actress who played Kelly in Misfits.
I've rewatched it (maybe more than once
) and although I have been telling myself the men with sticks n rope are coming , everytime I have had the same shudder like feeling when they appear .
Roll on episode 3 (and Howard Moon
)
It actually feels like an entirely different show, which is refreshing.
Shipwrecked, I agree. This series has more of a horror feel to it.
The last one had too much timey wimey stuff in it for my liking.
Really ? I think it's naff
Loved it when it was a black comedy with Herrich after them
The devil bit is a bit silly and preferred the men with ropes when they were a story rather than a reality
I think they looked like a load of mad builders
I like it just as much. Last weeks episode was truly creepy and one of the best. I love the devil
I think maybe they should have got else instead of Spider from Corrie to be the man with the sticks & ropes.
I really tried but I really can't find him intimidating.
On a brighter note, it's on again today!
This suggests that tonight's episode will be a good one! One of The last answers...
Hal blog
Heck...that didn't work!
Well, Damien says in the blog that episode three of this series was hilarious to film...
Phil Davies looks like my BIL & I can't concentrate on the evil bit!
Better - funnier
He did the right thing sexy Hal
The bloke was a git
Oh I loved lady Mary!!
I've only just started watching it now!
Tom is still my fav
Awww Tom in his big boy suit
I kind of thought there were a great deal of holes in the plot, which I find annoying but still very funny!
oh I'm going to be soooo sad when this finishes. I am loving this series so far.
Ibwas nearly crying along with Tom
Felt so sorry for him. Just wanted to scoop him up
I am loving this series. Love the banality of the crappy hotel and the men with sticks last week terrified me. Howard Moon was brilliantly creepy. Hal is just lovely and sexy and yum.
mary was funny
im a tom fan myself, those cute eyebrows-wonder if false
Hi 5's blonde Its all Hal lovers in here. I felt all alone
'All that thee and thou bollocks gets right on my tits!'
Love it
i will gladly share tom with you fanjo
a blofantom sandwich
i don't see the appeal in Hal. I like men a little rough
rough and ready
not a posh snob twat like hal
Don't get me wrong, I'd eat Tom up like he was made of chocolate. And Mitchell. In fact I'd have them all apart from George.
Besides the fact that Hal is gorgeous looking, it's the barely controlled lust animal that makes him appealing. And the fact that he is intelligent also helps a bit. I love Tom but in a mothering way -he's like a child.
I really shouldn't like any of them, I could probably be all their mums. <refuses to look up ages on t'internet>
Anyone watched the last fango in Paris clip on the blog site? A must for any Hal fans! <swoons>
OK, having missed the last series and a half I caught last week, which was v good. Lady M and Julian Barratt plots were self-contained so that was fine, but who was the creepy colourless civil servant?
BTW, DD was playing with JB's kids in the playground this weekend. She was having a lovely time with a whole gaggle of random children, and I was trying not to do "Bloody Hell it's him off Boosh who's not Noel Fielding!" face.
Hello Boring, that's Rook. He's in charge of the department that cleans up the messes caused by Vampires on the rampage and any other monsters.
You do need to watch last series though it was fabulous and will get you up to speed on what's been happening. It was on iplayer but not sure if it still is.
Oui , oui ..... OUI to a french Hal . (swoon)
I like Tom as a character but men with eyebrows manicured to perfection creep me out , so I shall stick with Hal thank you very muchly !
Thanks SmallPrint - I think I need to do alone serious catching up.
Thanks SmallPrint - I think I need to do some serious catching up, it's one of those shows I enjoy when I watch it, but can't quite fit into my timetable.
Hal and French and comedy!
My toes were curling with embarrassment, watching that blog snippet. It was probably the presence of the Eye of the Naïf (Tom)...
I've changed my mind about the sandwich, by the way, after last week's episode. It wouldn't be fair to take advantage of such a vulnerable person. He was terribly sweet and terribly sad when being taken advantage of by the interloper werewolf (henceforce, the "^interlouper^").
Another goodun.
Wah! We are now half way through the last ever series, I feel distraught!!
Looking forward to tonight though.
I can't believe there are only 3 more
It just isn't enough.
I may not get a chance to watch it tonight. Can't wait though.
I know! It only feels like five minutes ago that I started this thread
And there do seem to be a lot of story lines to be resolved in a short time too..
I thought that shipwrecked, loads of stuff to wrap up. I hope they don't just rush it all and spoil it.
Oh i love this programme sooooo much! And OMG! Next week looks even better and blood lust Hal looks hot!
Yet another fabulous episode .
Poor Bobby and the message from his mum
Watch out Captain Hatch , looks like Alex might have your number !
The way Rook talked to Bobby is how I sometimes address my 4yo, when he's being particularly infuriating!
(o the shame!)
I could have cried when Bobby played that message!
it's a shame Crumb has gone. it feels as though they created these great characters only to get rid of them too quickly! So much more potential in them!
More unfinished business for Alex
Stila I saw that on FB, its brilliant!
I didn't take to Crumb, I found him vair annoying. I did like Bobby and the also the big brother it brought out in Tom. <ahhhh>
Thinking about that clip, how could she film Hal??
Did no-one else think Hal and Tom snuggled up together snoozing was the most adorable thing ever?
Yes - I have looked at the still of that a fair few times !
She couldn't have filmed him ,unless.............. ghosts have supernatural friendly phones
Stila that unfinished business clip is brilliant!
good episode
loved the dancing stilla -my gorgeous man strutting his stuff
Penultimate episode tonight .
(not sure if that statement is a
or
or just
)
All three!!
Awwwwwww Tom <3
Alex and Hal
How come Hal could kiss Alex when Mitchell and Annie couldn't?
Mitchell and Annie did kiss. He said it was "tingly". But they couldn't have sex which is why they tried an odd threesome during which Annie tried to get the sensations third hand.
Also Alex mentioned being stuck in the same clothes forever so I guess it's impossible for her to get nekkid
I can't believe its the last one next week
Roll up , roll up .
Have I got a clip for you
That was a bloody good episode eh? Hatch has really blown them apart hasn't he ? Loved 'I'm only the fucking devil sweetheart '
I am both excited and gutted about next weeks .
I felt so sorry for Tom while watching last night.
How cute is he? 'She made me feel feelings' Id teach him about the birds and the bees
It was fantastic last night! I can't believe there is only one hour left to conclude everything!
i rem annies threesome
last one forever next week
Just caught up! Great episode.
Especially because its really difficult right now to see how they will come back from this!!
so is alex in limbo now?
She's stuck in her coffin next to her own corpse and unable to rentaghost out
Only 2 sleeps til the final. I'm excited and sad. Watching comic relief last night and Russell was on it who played George. I didn't know he did the voice on Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents!
Just caught up! That Hatch definitely knows how to plot, dunn'e?! I know that Tom and Alex are very young (and behave accordingly), but Hal really ought to know better... I suppose it's only in the calm-blood phase (as opposed to abstention or berserker catch-up) when he can benefit from all his years: he doesn't normally seem 500 or so. Anyway, H is manipulating the young'uns nicely, with their existing tensions.
BTW, what a horrific fate for Alex!
Last day
shipwrecked I know, I had the same thought when I woke up this morning. Its the last episode of call the midwife too but at least that's not the final final.
I'm excited and sad at the same time for tonight.

I was hoping for a 90min (at least) finale , I don't want 10pm to come round but at same time I can't wait .
Ahhhh memories
Lenora Critchlow is on the cast list according to the sky guide!!
Maybe Annie is going to help Alex escape her coffin?!
Ooh!! That's an exciting prospect!
I was also secretly hoping for an extended episode. I hope they knew it was to be the last when they filmed it so that are no loose ends... Hate it when that happens!
Just to add that Game of Thrones AND Dr Who start this month.. It's some compensation!
I'm excited and sad about tonight. I want to see how it ends but I don't want ot to end!
They have to form a Trinity: maybe Annie will come back for that point if the triangle? Or maybe she's just in a flashback. CalamityKate, wete there any more of the old cast listed (uf not, that cld sink the flashback theory).
I did have the horrible idea that loony Lady Mary might have to stand in for Alex in the Trinity, and would go to pieces, or pull out to shaft Hal, as his selfishness about the blood shafted Lady Catherine.. ?
The trinity must work, surely? And it should be Hal, Tom and Alex.
I go with the idea thatAnnie gets Alex out. Otherwise, no one knows where she is. and Tom and Hal are not at all interested in working it out at the moment.
I can't believe it's really the last one, I'm so jumpy waiting for 10pm to come around. Please please don't let any of my children wake up!
This series has been so much more frightening, such a shame the hole thing has to come to an end.
I agree about the scariness: nearly jumped out of my skin at the vampires jumping out at Rook and his men (I was feeding DD in the dark, so a bit susceptible!)
Not sure how to take the ending!
Tom accepted the devil's temptation didn't he? That's why all that stuff was on the mantelpiece.
Moo I never even thought of that!
The origami wolf the devil made in Tom's temptation was there, along with the objects representing the other characters.
He was tempted, as were they all but ultimately he rejected the devils offer. He staked him!
Watched the end again and it's mentioned that the devil made a mistake in trying to tempt them individually; that he should have got them together. Maybe he did, and they're sharing a fantasy while he destroys the world as planned....
Well I sobbed when Hal looked in the mirror .
That final pan along the mantlepiece , and then that change in music as it got to the wolf .....
Although it seems we have to buy the dvd
If you believe that the characters are stuck in one of Captain Hatchs dreams its quite a bleak ending. And so if thats your take on that last scene then thats a bit of a bleak way to leave five years of the show, so the DVD scene will address that.
Sooooo sad this is finished but thought it was an amazing series. I liked the ending but after considering it and watching again today I don't think they are in Hatch's dream, I know we were being led to believe that but I don't want to!
. I'm going to have to buy the dvd now to find out.
Very good - but I'd have sharpened the editing. More apocalypse, more fighting, more bickering with bad Hal. Less individual dream stuff.
Loved Alex's reaction to the end of the world, 'shit's getting real out there.'
Also thought was excellent how the ambiguity was added so subtly. I was thinking 'aw there's George's star of David, Eve's bib, the dog........Fuck! Wait the dog!!!!'
I think that they did die in the ritual and are now in their happy ever after
Surely they are in the house of Tom's temptation, with the scan picture and the origami wolf? But Hatch didn't offer them a deal, they're just there.
I wish Tom could have had his happy life with Allison!
The scan was Ninas, sorry!
But it was Hal who wanted the other two so maybe it's his dream.
I haven't watched it yet but couldn't resist a quick sneaky read.
luckily, none of you posts make any sense!!!!!
Looking forward to it tonight
Just watched it feel
that it was the last one but loved the ending!
Going to give In the flesh a go next Sunday to soften the blow of BH Finishing!
It was ace.
I agree with Calamity Kate.
Have watched it now! I thought it was brilliant!
I prefer to believe that they are actually human and did defeat the devil. I think they each did reject the offer he made.
I liked the mantelpiece shot at the end though...just enough to make it uneasy!!
There were a lot of items on the shelf:
Mitchell's gloves
Annie's cuppas
George's necklace
Eve's bib
Nina's scan (?)
Hal's domino
Alex's number of the cafe order pad
Tom's carving & stake
Wolf
It's got to be more than the devil winning ...
Absolutely, definitely a nod to the others who were part of the family
They are saying they will be putting an unseen scene from the last episode on the blog but it hasn't worked yet...
right here
I actually preferred the new characters to the original cast, though I did adore George and Herick.
The origami wolf made it all a bit inception like.
So, have all other vampires and werewolves had their curse lifted?! I struggle to imagine how the world would react to that's happening with all ghosts! However, it's a very dramatically satisfying ending, for all of them!
Great end for Rook!
Finally watched the ending
So they are now human?
Have deleted now so can't look at the mantelpiece
