Just wondering if anyone else watches because I'm getting sick of raving about it to people who all go "what? NEver heard of it", when it is actually one of the best programmes EVER. Yes, EVER.

sonsmum Fri 25-Jan-13 21:36:42

'yo' i share the lurve!
going to source series 4 this weekend...
It's filling the hole that Homeland and Dexter left...

Grittzio Fri 25-Jan-13 21:42:42

I love it too, currently having withdrawal symptoms after having watched season 1-4 since Xmas, 3 episodes a night - so addictive!

whatkungfuthat Sat 26-Jan-13 16:51:13

I've just noticed it on Netflix after people talking about it on here, hope its from series 1

MorrisZapp Sun 27-Jan-13 22:04:07

Best series of all time.

thenightsky Sun 27-Jan-13 22:09:03

Oh I love this... got boxed set 1 - 4 for Xmas and watched 1 and 2 so far. I want to get stuck into series 3, but I find it incredibly exhausting to watch grin

tedmundo Mon 28-Jan-13 00:05:48

Ooh .. We have watched this all along. Can't wait for the last bit .. Roll on spring!

MorrisZapp Mon 28-Jan-13 13:32:36

We should have a series of threads for people who want to talk about BB in much more detail, series appropriate and with plot spoiler warnings.

I'm on series two, would love to be able to discuss what I've seen so far, but am terrified of forums in case I glimpse further developments.

Anybody up for a season one thread? Ie for people who have seen the whole season?

thenightsky Mon 28-Jan-13 14:12:33

YY to a Season one group on here! I have actually just finished Series 2 as well, but also terrified of spoiling anything for others by discussing it.

Cooroo Mon 28-Jan-13 16:33:36

Halfway through series 4... has series 5 still not been finished?? I thought it was all on Netflix. And yes whatkungfuthat it is from series 1.

LOL at incognito - I'm the same. Keep having to tell people how good it is.

StrangerintheNight Mon 28-Jan-13 20:01:42

I'm so worried I'll accidentally get a spoiler for the final season. I'm not sure what the delay in air dates between US and here will be, but I'll basically have to avoid the Internet for the duration (which will probably do me a lot of good).

I just hope it ends in the manner we've come to expect. I know Mr Gilligan won't let us viewers down!

StrangerintheNight Mon 28-Jan-13 20:08:39

It would be good to get a different viewpoint from a MN discussion group as most of the Internet boards I've read to feed my mild obsession are male dominated and have a huge downer on poor old Skyler no matter what she does.

Please can all of you promise to catch up before the final season airs so we can obsess about it on here??

bringnbuy Tue 29-Jan-13 19:16:16

YAY! i LOVE bb so much so that i did a thread on here about it too the other week when i first discovered it with dh (his idea, so was 24, i'd never have watched either if he hadn't suggested them). stranger i don't like skyler, i find her both annoying and boring.. the night we just finished season 2 and have just started season 3. dh goes to bed earlier than me and got fed up with me watching another 1 (or 2) episodes as it meant i was ahead of him (even though i would re-watch them again with him) so last night i instead started (on netflix) to watch season 1 again. it is so bloody funny, the scenes with walt and jesse are my favourite, superb stuff :-) infact some days it keeps popping into my mind (i need to get out more) and once 5pm hits both dh and i are excited to see the latest evenings offerings. funny but dd goes to bed alot earlier since we discovered this which is good as she used to go to bed far too late some nights (9pm........ish) :-D

TheBlackBagBorderBinLiner Tue 29-Jan-13 21:47:02

Working through series 2 as fast as DH will let me.

thenightsky Tue 29-Jan-13 23:38:15

Does nobody else find the ups and downs of Walt's 'career' exhausting to watch? I can only watch 3 episodes back to back before I'm wrung out grin

bringnbuy Wed 30-Jan-13 08:58:57

i always get frustrated by his non relationship with jesse. never seems to go smoothly between the two. i love the chemistry between them (ha ha) but sadly they are rarely on the screen together, i want them to 'cook' together again, always funny moments as jesse always gets something wrong

StrangerintheNight Wed 30-Jan-13 23:39:59

Just finished watching latest episode of Lewis - I know, I know, it's my guilty pleasure and about the only programme my DH and I watch together. The plots are usually pretty lame, but they embarrassingly jumped on the breaking bad bandwagon in having a formerly respectable middle-aged man start dealing in crystal-meth. Oh dear.

It's a ridiculous premise (one of the reasons I put off watching BB for ages) but reminded me that you only care about BB because the characters are so well drawn.

Ha ha, bringnbuy. I'm never going to find anyone to stick up for Skyler am I? She's certainly not my favourite character but I can't put my finger on why she's so unsympathetic.

thenightsky Fri 01-Feb-13 10:53:31

Tempted to have a series 3 fest this weekend if the weather is shite grin

wintertimeisfun Fri 01-Feb-13 11:55:07

thenight dh and i are currently ploughing through season 3. last night we saw a really FANTASTIC episode so much so i can't wait for tonight to watch the next. there was a REALLY funny scene to do with jesse and a yellow suit :-D

greenpostit Fri 01-Feb-13 12:05:40

I've watched series 1-4. It gets better and better!

whatkungfuthat Fri 01-Feb-13 12:06:39

Thanks Cooroo, I've finally watched the pilot and a bit of the next one but I have stopped as I want DP to watch it too. Its totally not what I expected but what I have watched has been brilliant and I can't wait to see the rest. I am desperately trying not to see any clues or spoilers about it though grin

Cooroo Fri 01-Feb-13 15:46:08

Finished season 4 last night. Phew. Yes bringnbuy it is so frustrating that Jesse and Walt fail to communicate, when they so obviously care for each other on some level. Walt made an interesting slip when out of it on painkillers. And I thought they might hug near then end of Face Off... and then there was the last shot! Aaagh.

Face Off - I love the episode titles, they can be very clever.

Cooroo Fri 01-Feb-13 15:47:16

Skyler - she was pretty impressive in s4, one episode in particular.

sonsmum Fri 01-Feb-13 16:55:15

watching the last 2 episodes of series 4 tonight. I have been very naughty and did go on wiki and read to see what happens. Looks like the series ends appropriately. Not sure what we will do until June as series 5 is not for sale until then in the UK. The cast are all good actors, (even skylar!) but i think Hank is really impressive, with his mannerisms and convincing eagerness to catch heisenberg etc

Back2Two Fri 01-Feb-13 17:05:01

grin at the nightsky

Yo yo yo. I'm loving it too.
Half way through series 4. I might be a bit in love Jesse I think, although it would be more appropriate for me to bustle in, clean up his house and cook him a good breakfast in a maternal stylee show of love.

Bloke who plays Hank is class. Walt does irritate me a bit from time to time cos he can be a real cock.

We have to alternate with something a bit more light hearted (modern family) from time to time. I quite like it when dh starts impersonating Jesse tho, not so much when it'S Skinny Pete wink

incognitoforonenight Fri 01-Feb-13 17:21:11

FOr those who have seen and know already- can I just say that the end of series four ROCKED!! When he came out and adjusted his tie - WOW - those of you who know will know what I'm talking about and those who haven't seen won't know enough to know that this is not a a spoiler!

Back2Two Fri 01-Feb-13 18:05:37

Can't look now...think last post was a spoiler? Noooooooooo.

incognitoforonenight Fri 01-Feb-13 18:22:12

I wouldnt' dream of putting in a spoiler! The shows much too special to spoil for those who haven't seen it! no names mentioned and no giveaway features mentioned, but if you have seen it you will know what I'm talking about

wintertimeisfun Fri 01-Feb-13 19:01:34

back i have a crush on Jesse too.....i get embarassed when there is a prolonged camera shot of his face, i am sure i blush, lord know what dh would think :-D i think he is lovely and i like his voice...

PariahHairy Fri 01-Feb-13 19:24:43

I watched a few of s1 on netflix and was a bit meh about it tbh, was a bit tiresome. Is it worth trying again?

StrangerintheNight Fri 01-Feb-13 19:50:52

Pariah According to the creator of the show, if you don't like the pilot then you won't like the show full stop.

But might be worth trying again. I wasn't keen on the pilot but jumped ahead to last episode of season one to see if it was worth bothering with (do this with books too, I have no patience) and then became ridiculously obsessed.

Incognito I don't see how that can be a spoiler, but it's always risky. I am saying nothing till someone decides to set up a separate thread!

StrangerintheNight Fri 01-Feb-13 19:58:25

Back2Two, I only just saw your post, but wanted to say I love the breakfast motif that runs through the show, and the fact that Jesse's attempt at breakfast was appropriately abysmal. He definitely needs your help.

P.S. What exactly are Funions? Has anyone ever tried them?

PariahHairy Fri 01-Feb-13 20:01:15

Hmm it's not that I hated it or anything, just didn't really grab me, might do the same as you and skip to the last episode, thanks for that.

thenightsky Fri 01-Feb-13 20:10:07

I felt that whole of Series one was actually a pre-quel to the rest of the series to come - Series 2 being the real start IYSWIM.

Back2Two Fri 01-Feb-13 20:38:19
Thornintherose Fri 01-Feb-13 21:54:51

We have just started watching this week, we're now on Season 2. It is SO tense I can hardly bare to watch it most of the time. It makes me anxious.

thenightsky Fri 01-Feb-13 22:03:07

Thornintherose Yes I know what you mean about the tension... I find it very stressy to watch! It's the ups and downs rollercoaster ride.

Cooroo Fri 01-Feb-13 22:48:25

I love the black humour in S1, which there is less of now (but not all gone). And the way you could almost relate... body parts and bath all over the landing, what would you DO??

thenightsky Sun 10-Feb-13 23:16:15

Just started Series 3. Loving it so far.

BOF Sun 10-Feb-13 23:19:43

I absolutely love it- the acting is superb, from everyone. Probably the best tv series I've ever seen.

aristocat Sun 10-Mar-13 09:22:36

I am obsessed with this too

Spending too much time watching it but have a crush on Jesse grin and have just watched the end of S4

MirrorballMoon Tue 14-May-13 21:18:30

Another addict here grin No one else I know in RL watches it so am so glad to have found this thread!
Am bereft now I've watched up to the end of what is available on Apple TV.
Jesse is my favourite, as he's the only one with any scruples! Although love Hank too... Styler started to annoy me when she (the actress) had her lips done at the end of season one grin
Cannot wait til the new (and last!) season starts. Does anyone know when it will be available here? Think it airs July in the US...

MirrorballMoon Wed 15-May-13 07:20:30

flanbase Wed 15-May-13 07:22:14

I've watched all of this and what a great programme.

ShirkingViolet Wed 15-May-13 07:23:54

I love it to! Am on series 2, we are watching it all on Netflix smile

ShirkingViolet Wed 15-May-13 07:24:26

StrangerintheNight Thu 16-May-13 20:25:30

Have been trying to find out when the final batch of programs will be on Netflix, but no luck. Starts in August in the US.

Does anyone have any particular ideas about how it should end? I just want a properly satisfying conclusion, although I can't imagine the writers will opt for a wishy-washy open-ended finale, given what's gone before.

Season 5 was just too depressing for my liking, although I can understand why.

thenightsky Thu 16-May-13 21:23:24

I'm about half way through series 4. Not allowed to watch anymore until DS gets home from uni though.

itsallshitandmoreshit Fri 17-May-13 13:43:39

Best thing I have ever seen on television (and I've watched a lot!).
Best writing, casting, acting and directing.

Outstanding. Why hasn't everyone seen it????

wintertimeisfun Sat 18-May-13 17:50:13

i love it too. so much so that i can keep re-watching it and never get board, the loser that i am. i love walt & jesse's relationship as well as jesse's friends ie badger and skinny pete smile

wintertimeisfun Sat 18-May-13 17:50:38

*bored :-D

PollyPlummer Sat 18-May-13 18:45:17

Another addict here, started watching a few weeks ago and just finished last night. Was shock at the ending and cant wait to see what is going to happen next.
I am a little bit in love with Jesse, I don't think I have seen the actor in anything else.

VivaLeBeaver Sat 18-May-13 20:17:15

I saw the pilot ages ago and really, really didn't like it. Shame as so many people rave about the show. Think I may have watched the next episode as well...ended with them making drugs in a trailer/motor home which I think caught fire.?

Maybe I ought to try it again.

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons Sat 18-May-13 21:13:40

Fellow BB addict here, just marking my place for news of new series start date. smile

VivaLeBeaver I rememeber after watching the first 2 or 3 episodes, I was tempted not to continue, cos I thought it was a bit boring really. But I'm really, really glad I stuck with it. Its definitely my favourite series ever.

StrangerintheNight Mon 20-May-13 09:55:34

I've also re-watched it more than is good for the state of my marriage. Although I confess to fast-forwarding through the interminable car wash sub-plot. It better have some huge bearing on the final few episodes or else...

LaughingLen Mon 17-Jun-13 21:28:28

Season five awaits me, in real life I know no one, no one who watches this. The school gate talks about master chef, dancing f-listers and talent shows but never a whimper about breaking bad.

LaughingLen Mon 17-Jun-13 21:29:35

I'm gonna set up a free school and the entry criteria will be a parental netflix/ download list of impeccable taste.

PeazlyPops Mon 17-Jun-13 21:46:34

I watched he first few episodes and have up as I just couldn't get into it. People told me to stick with it, so a few weeks later I started watching it again, and I'm glad I did!

Anxiously awaiting the last half of season 5!

gingertessa Mon 05-Aug-13 15:53:12

11th August for series 5 part 2 broadcast in the US; I don't think I can wait for the DVD release! I am such a fan that I bought DD (10 months) a Heisenberg babygro and my fiance a T shirt with the symbol from the barrel of methylamine on it from eBay smile

StrangerintheNight Mon 05-Aug-13 18:37:18

12th August on UK Netflix - only a week to wait!

Disclaimer: didn't really like season 5 as much, so quite prepared to discount these last 8 episodes and pretend it all finished with season 4.
