Who's watching?
Me!
I'm watching
And me
I'm here. Might be the last one I watch before DC3 arrives.
This husband is going to be punchable, isn't he?
Hmm. I think he would annoy me, but what do I know?
Me! Jealous of this spontaneous labour activity...god, i really need to get over my labour!
me!
Am watching northern couple, both of whom I thought were older than 22 & 24 and they seem nice & funny
Me!
I'm here!
Is that all they are? Thought they were older!
Me!
Internet romance!
Am paying special attention tonight as being induced tomorrow
They're not going to show anything scary
Are they?
Yo soy multitasking
Wow eagleray thats come around quickly!
Made me giggle too!
at 'bunch of sexists over here' - has she seen the ELC colour coded shite?
Northern Dads only there for the sandwich
I'm here! The second couple are so sweet.
Yes Kate - succumbed to induction pressure yesterday
I'm watching. I'm hoping I'm not watching next weeks as I'm 39weeks pregnant.
I'm not sure what I liked more "yo soy multitasking" or "I liked his lookings"!
Hopefully this time tomorrow you'll be snuggling your newborn eagle, good luck
Boomboom that's what I said last week (at 39+5)
I think I am v well qualified for a career change as a midwife - sitting here eating biscuits like a production line. They were part of the Christmas presents from the PIL. How did she know that I luffs like the Viennese sandwich ones?
Yo soy multitasking man looks like a footballer
Checking in.
Kudos to the nearly-cooked pregnant ones watching here!
Loving the S.American couple.
GroupieGirl
I think we are going to be in floods by the end of this.
Thanks Bootsy - after all the waiting, I think I'm slightly in shock.
I think I might want to shove that video camera up his arse by the end of it though.
BoomBoomBoom when are you due? I'm due on Monday. Reckon I'm going to go over though, I tend to have well cooked babies.
Good luck for tomorrow, eagleray.
Northern husband isn't as irritating as I first thought.
I'm not keen on Daniel.
Good luck for tomorrow eagleray slightly jealous you will have a newborn soon
northern twat is annoying me now
Northern husband is more irritating than I first thought, midwife Maud is beautiful!.
Thanks Anathema
I'm due next Wednesday. I'm not allowed to go over my due date.
84 outfits? Fuck me.
Jack Daniel. Is that a joke ?
OMG at colour co-ordinated outfits for a newborn. She does know they puke, right?
Did the midwife say she'd met a man who was 34 and 9 years younger than her? She doesn't look 34 herself.
I was hoping so Ken, but I'm not entirely sure...
Did that MW say that she met a hottie and he was 34 and 9 years younger than her?!
No she said 24
maud cannot be 43!?
Jack Daniel - not a joke, I reckon
Oh shit - forgot to sort out a name and matching outfits
will hope baby doesn't notice
PMSL at Paddington Bear!
40+6 here - thought (and hoped) I'd be watching this weeks knowing what it is like
at getting to use pool
I'm sure that blonde midwife is great, but I'm not sure I could take her seriously if I was in labour!
eagleray - what have you been doing?
Make sure the socks match the bib. And you need a dummy with baby's name on.
columbian guy is very funny!
Xpost! Or maybe she's 9 years younger?
Oh look it's that squeaky midwife again. I'm sure she's lovely, but that voice! I had a lawyer on the other side in a transaction with a voice like that once. SO hard to take her seriously.
That blonde midwife is so irritating. I'm sure she's very good at her job, but I wouldn't want her anywhere near me if I was in labour.
No Maud is 33! She is lovely.
Sorry Empire - me too. Fingers crossed for both of us for next week
Loving the Paddingtons with the tunes
ooh - that's what my Argentinian toyboy lover used to say to me "you are my queen"
could really punch the guy in the jack daniels t-shirt!
Eagle
The dad is called Daniel? The son will be called Jack..
I'd be telling him exactly where to shove his Snickers.
He reminds me of Kurt from Corrie.
I'm sick of Jack already and he hasn't even been born yet.
God, I bet my DH will be like Northern husband - eating all the snacks within minutes of arriving and then saying "What?! You didn't want any!!"
He really is annoying, isn't he?
Not sure if she's weeping in pain or in frustration with Northern dad's inane chatter...
Northern dad looks like a potato with eyes, somebody should tell him that fashions for people with no style.
Peeing myself at potato with eyes!
I bet he eats all her toast after the baby arrival, too. DH did that after DD was born. I'm still annoyed by it, nearly 2 years on.
why does he want jack to be just on the edge of what's fashionable?
i think he's odd. quite immature.
Columbian guy has had such a hard life...
oh god ..poor bloke
Why would you have aspirations about how your kid dresses? He's weird.
he lost his mum aged 9!
Arw poor lovely lovely Columbian dad
I am making DP bring me food from a local posh deli - he is a greedy pig but I know he won't steal it as he thinks vegetarian food is the work of the devil
Potato with eyes
Columbiano is just lovely.
I had to come on and see what people were saying about the northern dad!
He would be seriously annoying me I would have kicked him out by now!
Poor guy (sorry am streaming the programme so a minute or so behind everyone)
Evil genius eagle
Poor guy, his mother died in childbirth.
tearing up at columbian asking his friends to pray for them
Columbian baby will be a stunner
boots with out a doubt, some great genes there
i wonder if his little sister survived. if he has any siblings/family to celebrate this with. so sad. i cant imagine being 9 and alone with my mother while she was going through that. poor guy.
Poor columbian guy sounds like he has a really hard life/childhood. Im crying already at his mum dying when he was 9yo
His mother dyeing in childbirth also explains why he got the camera out to do an interview with mum.
poor guy, I bet he's terrified
This is so heartbreaking...
I missed who the other woman in with them is? Though it was her mother, but praps not.

they are a lovely couple. really nice together.
I will remember this when I throw my next hissy fit about not having a home birth.
good point beebies
It's her friend
it's her friend.
<sniff>
Other woman is her friend.
Some one needs to tell that mw that capital i's don't have dots <pendant alert>
xpost.
Its a friend I think.
Baldy bloke is very annoying!
Grrrr potato Dan is a massive wanker, what a pig
No you tosspot, Jack's safe delivery is much more important than him thinking you're a cool dad
Oh dear his own dad was an even bigger idiot - explains a lot actually.
Columbiano could be a doula, he's fabulous
aww I bet he blubs like a baby when Jack comes
<snurk> @ potato dan!
did Kerry have an induction and/or epidural? I seem to keep missing these details!
this couple really are so cute
Oh they are lovely <blub>
"Our baby is a gift of our love"
Sob!
she looks so fresh between the pushing!
Love love love this couple. Diego is going to be a lucky boy with all that love.
'if hes falling I want to catch him'
I think I'm in love with this dad!
Not sure about her friend taking pictures of her fanjo as the baby emerges though

What an amazing birth!
Wow, full of emotion!
I'm suprised shes still standing after that! I think I'd need a sit down!
me too beebies!
Columbian dad is lovely!
I thought the older mw (can't remember her name) retired at the end of the last series
Ahhhhhh!
And they had that nice sensible MW with her lovely beat bob for the last bit.
Lovely
That was an amazing birth. Almost makes me want to have another.
Oh God pass the tissues.....
beat neat
Just the most gorgeous birth. makes me want to shed a tear too, and makes me even more broody!
Oh God, Northern potato reminds me of DH during my 36 hour labour. All I got were moans about how uncomfortable his chair was and 'at least you're in a bed'
- he still goes on about it now....
Agree with PPs re: squeaky. I would be requesting a new midwife (or insisting on silence)!
The Mexilumbians might be my favourite couple ever!
I LOVE team Columbia! "My son" arw
How lovely!
Different senior midwife I think ImKate - it was the midwife from southampton (brunette hair in a bun) who retired. Grey haired midwife is from Leeds. But they do share a bit of a 'look'!
Mexilumbians
Brilliant
godfrom one couple grateful their son will have a roof over his head and food to eat to the other with 84 outfits !
I'm sure that midwife retired too - it was the last episode of the last series, wasn't it? Maybe she's doing bank shifts!
That was lovely - I have same nightie as her, hoping it brings me some luck!
She did retire - they did her an amazing buffet!!
DH came in and talked to me all the way through that birth, the git. What I did see of it looked lovely though.
Don't know how she stayed standing afterwards.
I hate those condescending say hello to a mental person today adverts, sooooo patronising
eagleray good luck for your induction tomorrow! Try not mourn the HB too much...the thing that messed me up was not being prepared for what it would feel like in hospital. Accept it, go with it, you'll be amazing with your baby's 67865 matching outfits
Colombian couple ARE just lovely, especially when dad listed what baby Diego wouldn't be without: roof over his head, food, water, clothes...unlike him.
Am confused - no drugs but she's on a drip? Or is that still from the induction meds?
He is going to be a little babe magnet.
awww! look at him looking at his daddy! gorgeous!
<broody>
she was given a drip to speed up labour 26 hours!!!
)
Thanks Orenishii
- trying to do last minute preparations now...
Very cute baby!
Gorgeous Diego and his lovely hair bless
That boy could NEVER be ashamed of them!
Oh dear 'let him be a real man from the beginning'
"Our Kezz"
You can just see the relationship already with Columbian guy and Diego
Pushing for an hour? Ouch!
i think he said "proper boy"
Come on our Kezza!
oh come on
ah dh jus came home with dc, have to go and put them to bed
Wow!
Gawd that was graphic
WOW!
Diego is beautiful! They are going to be such a lovely little family, there is so much love there.
I'm certain it was that mw who retired - they had a little party for her and she was talking about how they all supported her when her husband died.
Oh bless him
See, now we feel for potato head.
He's still a cock, though.
aww I knew he'd be emotional
I'd liek to shove his phone up his arse
Bugger, too busy posting and I missed the birth!
Seriously, how soon did anyone else start phoning round? It was a good hour before DH did, I reckon.
I think he redeemed himself there at the end.
Did northern potato really need to get his hairy tits in Jacks face
retired midwife is probably working on the bank
If I was his wife I'm not sure I'd be so keen on him phoning his mum while I'd just pushed out his son. EAch to their own I suppose.
Am VERY Confused by retiring midwife now too!
Was wondering same bootsy
Just discovered DP has been sat downstairs sneakily watching OBEM - does anyone think he might be trying to do some last minute swotting-up on what a birth is like?
Well, that was emotional.
Best of British for tomorrow eagleray
i have to say i'm impressed with those men staying throughout the labour. my EXP and my mum disappeared off up to the canteen for a fry-up when i was in labour. by the time they had remembered me my contractions had ground to a halt and i'd been induced!
Ahhh - the Mexican lady's birth was lovely, brought a tear to my eye! Both births were lovely actually. Have been avoiding OBEM as go off it when I'm pregnant - but I'm getting a little bit excited about doing it again now (34 weeks!)
Eagle do you think your dp could learn some Spanish phrases by tomorrow?
yes eagerlay!
tell him that it's the comumbian guy he needs to be paying attention to. not potato dan and his phone!
Hairy northern bloke was ok - just needed weaning from his phone - but a dad full of good intentions for his wee boy, had a hard life in common with the other dad in the programme. Skin-to-skin with Jack at the end ahh.
comumbian?
*columbian!
Good luck tomorrow eagleray
Hairy man would have had his phone hocked down the toilet if I was his lady. I have instructed hubby that the phone stays away. Also phoning his mum 3 secs after the birth - come on mate give it 5 mins.
I loved the Columbia /Mexican couple though - bought a tear to my eye when he said about anyone being a father but it taking a real man to be a dad! What a lovely thing to say!
Ps Id love Lucy the squeaky midwife as mine - she seems lovely!!
Columbian Dad so nailed it, they ought to show that to expectant Dads at ante natal classes - watch and learn !
Thanks everyone
DP v touched by Combian guy - hopefully watching him will influence things tomorrow...
can't help but laugh at the comment about the waters, something like "i thought they might go with a bang" to which the midwife said oh no maybe a tiny pop.
I scared the daylights out of a room full of staff with mine "like a champagne cork" apparently. just goes to show expect the unexpected with labour!
Uhmmm wonderful Columbian had a camera shoved permanently in her face.
I really admired that mexican lady (Belem?) giving birth standing and so calmly and without fuss, although have to nitpick one small point, her husband said she did the whole thing without drugs and I'm sure she got gas and air earlier in the programme. Still a lot better than me though, I was begging for a second shot of diamorphine when the first wore off and they wouldn't let me have it as it was "too near the birth now" (which it wasn't, 4 hours of pushing and forceps before any baby appeared).
eagleray any news?? Hoping it all went wonderfully and you're chilling out with your new baby right now!
Hi orenishii - baby finally here today! I have to say that the birth went from being planned HB to ending up almost identical to yours: PROM (or not!), meconium (or not!), trying to cope with hypno, pethedine failing, induction started, epidural given, then ending up with forceps, stirrups and episiotomy.
Feeling a bit rubbish about it all, but it is early days (birth this afternoon) but just trying to accept it. Baby is utterly gorgeous and I'm 41 so v v lucky to have her
Bizarrely, quite liking being in hosp as need looking after but will be nice to go home when ready.
It does just seem to depend a lot on luck of the draw and I guess we were unlucky
