I thought it was having a fortnight off for Christmas but not on today sad

KittyMcAllister Mon 07-Jan-13 19:35:59

Back a week today (14th Jan), it's been off for ages!!

Willabywallaby Mon 07-Jan-13 19:46:57

Hooray! It's the only thing I always try and watch, lunchtime on my days off and get the children's into bed for the 7pm one otherwise.

SpanishFly Tue 08-Jan-13 13:33:24

I saw a trailer for it yesterday, and it gave too much away for my liking!!!! just as the "coming up this week" section drives me nuts.

MsTimTam Tue 08-Jan-13 20:58:29

I had to look it up today as I thought it would be back yesterday as well, glad it will be back next week grin, it's my guilty pleasure.

FrillyMilly Tue 08-Jan-13 23:06:58

Isn't it off for a while because they have a summer break is oz? I think we have finally caught up with them. Only took 25 years.

The coming up this week bugs me and I can never work out what order stuff has happened because they give so much away.

ScienceRocks Wed 09-Jan-13 07:47:13

I have been fretting about this too, especially as they said it would be back on January 7 after the last one of 2012 angry

But quite pleased it's coming back on my birthday smile I've missed them blush

SpanishFly Wed 09-Jan-13 11:12:20

no, we're still 4 weeks behind, so get ready for xmas in oz in a few weeks smile

FrillyMilly Wed 09-Jan-13 22:45:27

How are we still behind! I can't even remember what was going on before it finished. Oh Priya and her affair - inevitable pregnancy.

Gumby Wed 09-Jan-13 22:46:34

It's surely cos Toadie is in CBB grin

SpanishFly Thu 10-Jan-13 15:03:55

Pregnancy and a blond baby with a Scottish accent smile

Willabywallaby Thu 17-Jan-13 18:37:29

I'm all confused, can't remember what was happening 3 weeks ago.

SpanishFly Thu 17-Jan-13 19:54:57

Just lots of paul shagging priya but that's not been mentioned much this week.
And lucas being in love.

SpanishFly Fri 18-Jan-13 14:19:35

Can you imagine having a middle-aged male neighbour who two pretty young 20-ish year old girls staying with him? hmm

GunsAndRoses Fri 18-Jan-13 14:33:12

Priya is awful. The affair with Paul is so ridiculous. Rubbish acting!

Willabywallaby Fri 18-Jan-13 15:34:03

Rubbish acting is part of the fun of watching it!

I'm fed up with Paul's affairs, that's all his character seems to do.

SpanishFly Fri 18-Jan-13 16:36:57

I love ajay. Ok, just me then.

Willabywallaby Fri 18-Jan-13 17:09:47

I'm with you, he reminds me of a lovely bloke I know, but maybe not fancy...

SpanishFly Fri 18-Jan-13 20:02:35

I obviously have extreme tastes cos earlier I commented on the Dallas thread that I think John Ross is hot - so clearly bad boys or clean-cut lawyers are my thing confused ♥

MirandaWest Fri 18-Jan-13 20:06:47

I haven't watched neighbours in years. Is Paul the original Paul?

SpanishFly Fri 18-Jan-13 20:14:11

Yep - stefan dennis smile

hugoagogo Fri 18-Jan-13 22:16:57

I always record neighbours so I can ffwd throuh the stupid- "this week on neighbours" They stopped doing it for a bit, but sadly it has returned.

Poor Lucas

Willabywallaby Sat 19-Jan-13 07:08:08

I like the updates and spoiler clips, I don't get to watch it every day and the storyline changes so quickly it means I can keep up.

SpanishFly Wed 23-Jan-13 17:43:44

When kyle and his cousin were cooking chicken, where was the hob??! There used to be a hob and worktop separating the kitchen and dining room, but today there was just an empty space!

Willabywallaby Wed 23-Jan-13 19:22:12

Was obviously not watching closely enough...

FrillyMilly Thu 24-Jan-13 19:39:35

I enjoyed Paul's fatherly emotion today. Rani is so annoying.

montage Thu 24-Jan-13 21:37:37

Is Ireland still showing Neighbours one episode ahead of the UK?

We were before the break, for some unfathomable reason.

So today (Thursday's) episode for you lot was Paul getting emotional after looking at photos of Andrew as a child, and Rani realising what the earrings meant?

That was Wednesdays episode in Ireland confused

FrillyMilly Thu 24-Jan-13 21:47:32

Yes that was today's episode. How strange. I thought they had to be shown on the right day to ensure the 'last week on' / 'next week on' where shown on the right day.

montage Sat 26-Jan-13 21:24:56

RTE (the Irish national broadcaster) would not care about that. We get "this week on" at very random times and the most dramatic finale of the week is on a Thursday. grin

They are renowned for running over their own timetable, moving program times around in a seemingly random manner and starting programs a few minutes early or late which plays havoc with "series link."

There was much fury when people who were recording it, missed the end of the Homeland finale shock

I shall have to continue discussing yesterdays episode on here to avoid spoilers so.

SpanishFly Tue 29-Jan-13 17:48:12

Did you see Tash snogging Andrew with his cold sore? !!

SpanishFly Tue 29-Jan-13 17:49:21

Oh, and WHY would Summer be so upset that Tash and Andrew got together? Tash went out with him first!

Clawdy Tue 29-Jan-13 19:20:56

Ajay is much nicer now he's not grinning all the time...smile

PuffPants Tue 29-Jan-13 19:54:08

Yay - someone wiped the grin of Ajay's face!

Ahh, Andrew and Summer - I like them back together. They've both grown up a lot.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 29-Jan-13 20:54:39

Yes, bonus is AJ not grinning

But the cost is watching Priya looking all pathetic.

The whole thing is pathetic...their 'affair' was possibly the least sexy thing I have watched since Paul was shagging Lynn Scully

envy <-----puke icon

SpanishFly Wed 30-Jan-13 13:09:22

Priya is horrendous. She is so sappy.
But Ajay is becoming a much more interesting character, now that he isnt simpering and grinning all the time.

CecyHall Wed 30-Jan-13 19:37:02

Excited after seeing the preview of tomorrow's show!

Me too!

Willabywallaby Thu 31-Jan-13 11:54:13

I'm pleased I'm not th only one who watches this crap.

SpanishFly Thu 31-Jan-13 12:07:09

Crap? CRAP?!! How dare you.

PuffPants Thu 31-Jan-13 16:57:14

You've got to love a soap birth. Vanessa went from waters breaking to agonising contractions before she'd even got out of the shop! At least Sonya's is looking a tad more realistic...

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 31-Jan-13 17:30:11

Right...am sitting and watching now!!

threesocksmorgan Thu 31-Jan-13 17:31:51

Iam a day behind
was ajay miming when he was singing??

RobinSparkles Thu 31-Jan-13 17:40:25

Ooh, I like a Neighbours thread! I can't stand Priya, she's so annoying.

I hope that Vanessa and Rhys don't get back together, I really want her and Lucas to get together!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 31-Jan-13 17:45:32

Es, I thought Ajay was miming.

It undermined the authenticity of the scene for me grin

SpanishFly Thu 31-Jan-13 18:15:09

PLEASE dont have a Sonya-baby tragedy.......

Mrcrumpswife Thu 31-Jan-13 18:32:00

The gorgeous Mark Brennan is supposed to be back this year for a bit, the thought of him fawning over Kate again makes me want to hurl! What do they all see in herconfused The script writers must be deluded or i am missing seeing her hidden beauty.

I loved Lucas in Heartbreak High so Rhys can sod off and leave vanessa alonegrin

CecyHall Thu 31-Jan-13 18:59:53

To comment on a few posts-

Ajay is annoying but Priya is beyond annoying. Why so much purple eyeshadow?

What on earth kind of gig were they playing, I know I was Christmas but it was entirely a bizarre set up!

I really hope Lucas gets the girl. He is so sweet yet manly (but I don't fancy him at all, Rhys is much more better looking and I'll never forget the day he was topless and then wore a Nirvana tshirt all in 1 episode)

I don't understand the Kate love, I've not liked that whole family since they joined but Kate is the worst especially her ridiculous extensions

I watch at 7pm so haven't seen today's yet.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 31-Jan-13 19:53:30

He's back!? shock

Now that policeman can interrogate me anytime grin

Clawdy Thu 31-Jan-13 20:12:53

For some reason I thought Mark Brennan was dead?

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 31-Jan-13 20:20:22

Yes, he was supposed to have gone into a new identity programme to hide from the baddies but they found him anyway and killed him...so Kate was told

It allowed her demonstrate some truly awful great acting and snog that kid in her class by the mural..

<needs to get a life>

Mrcrumpswife Thu 31-Jan-13 20:29:26

He's definitely back for an appearance and so is the one who played Sarah, the girl who had an affair with Karl many years ago in the 90's. I'm way too young to remember that of courseblush

Clawdy Thu 31-Jan-13 20:34:53

I remember that! the affair was no more than one kiss, but Susan went ballistic....

Mrcrumpswife Thu 31-Jan-13 20:37:48

Thats the onegrin i thought i would be the only one who remembered her.

Heres a reminder and a neighbours trailer so dont watch if you dont want to see Susan and Sarah in teaser video!

www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s14/neighbours/scoop/a455022/neighbours-returnee-sarah-beaumont-in-teaser-video-watch.html

Clawdy Thu 31-Jan-13 21:59:08

Ha ha that looks fun! thanks mrcrumpswife

hugoagogo Thu 31-Jan-13 22:13:51

I love Lucas; so I hope Vanessa realises what a shit Rys is and shacks up properly with Lucas after the baby is born.

2 ladies in labour-I may have to actually watch live tomorrow! <giddy>

SpanishFly Thu 31-Jan-13 23:50:59

But the teaser showed sonya saying "am I losing her?!" Ugh. My nerves won't be able to handle the tension

Willabywallaby Fri 01-Feb-13 10:41:17

Will be really pissed off if Toadie and Sonia don't have a healthy baby.

Must get boys in bed by 7 tonight to watch 5*, but have found channel 5+1 so there are now 4 chances to watch it. I know I should work out how to work the recorder blush

Yes agree with the Priya eyeshadow, and the whingy voice, although Rani is worse.

Can't remember Sarah, hopefully it will all come flooding back when I see her face.

Mark Brennan mmmmm.

Christmas gig very strange, but Karl's gigs always are. Ajay was making me want to hurl singing to his beloved Rani.

If something is going to go the shape of a pear with Sonya and Jellyfish, then there will be a cliffhanger at the end of today and we will have to wait until Monday to find out, I bet.

Could someone tell me please what the actress playing Kyles nan has been in before? I had tv on in the background, but recognised her voice as soon as I heard it, and knew what she'd look like before I even saw her.....so familiar, but I just can't place her! I hate when this happens!

CecyHall Fri 01-Feb-13 14:37:12

She was in Prisoner Cell Block H back In the day, I think her name was maybe Doreen?

Mrcrumpswife Fri 01-Feb-13 16:26:57

grin at the Prisoner Cell Block H, she used to carry a teddy bear around.

I loved that programme, most of the cast have been in Neighbours at some point. Australia must have about 30 actors that do the soaps!

SpanishFly Fri 01-Feb-13 16:31:28

Yep she was doreen - nice but dim, bless her.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 01-Feb-13 17:10:33

He used to bring me roses.......!!

grin now that was a classy show!!

That's it! Totally busted now for watching "Cell Block" though blush grin

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 01-Feb-13 19:29:41
ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 01-Feb-13 19:34:16
BookFairy Fri 01-Feb-13 20:08:38

A Neighbours thread!

What's this talk about Mark coming back to life? Plus Sarah is coming back to break a few hearts?

I think Vanessa will have a heart to heart with her mum, see how good Lucas is with the baby, and realise that she does actually love Lucas. Rhys will leave, finally.

There will be a few nail biting moments with Sonya but I'm sure it will all end happily. Surely it has to? Neighbours has used up its quota of sad storylines for this year!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 01-Feb-13 20:12:23

And Toady cannot lose yet another wife!

I'd do Toady.... grin

BookFairy Fri 01-Feb-13 23:22:26

You don't think Dee is going to come back do you? shock

SpanishFly Fri 01-Feb-13 23:59:18

Anything's possible in Erinsborough.

Willabywallaby Sat 02-Feb-13 06:23:51

Coming on just to agree Toadie can't lose another wife hmm

BookFairy Sat 02-Feb-13 11:03:50

So we're in agreement that it really wouldn't be on for them to kill off Sonya. How about if it's touch and go for a while but then she makes a miraculous recovery? I think that's fair grin

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sat 02-Feb-13 13:06:35

With wonderfully healthy baby girl to boot...

CecyHall Sat 02-Feb-13 15:40:24

I don't know how it's going to pan out, to be honest, have we had season finale yet as things usually kick off then? And Toadie has been in England for about a month now. Well, not Toadie but you know what I mean.

Willabywallaby Sat 02-Feb-13 16:24:51

They were billing him as former neighbours actor, so maybe he goes out, hopefully with happy family in tow?

NOOOOoooooooooo! - they can't get rid of Toadie - I won't let them!

BookFairy Sat 02-Feb-13 16:46:21

Former?! So Toadie dies ?shock

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sat 02-Feb-13 16:58:39

Ok, shocked, I went rooting about on the Internet and all appears well for the three as far as I can see...

I am now officially a pathetic human being!!!

barefootwalker Sat 02-Feb-13 17:30:18

The return of Brennan?! Woooooo hooooo! That'll be something to look forward to.

montage Sat 02-Feb-13 21:37:04

If Sarah is coming back the they are obviously going to push Karl and Susan back together - she will either "threaten" their newly re-established relationship or Karl will have to "make an impossible choice". Anything that stops the scenes with Karl's dates is good with me

Considering Malcolm married Sarah's sister, it's going to be a bit unrealistic when she doubtlessly turns up totally unexpectedly.

Hopefully Brennan returns as a ghost like Ailsa in Home and Away (Appearing through the fridge. That was excellent).

Willabywallaby Mon 04-Feb-13 14:39:00

Nearly cried in todays episode, more over the Luke bit than the Toadie.

SpanishFly Mon 04-Feb-13 15:49:02

Two babies, though!
Lucas will get the girl, I'm sure of it smile

PuffPants Mon 04-Feb-13 17:09:27

Cute babies but Nell must have been at least six weeks - smiling and gurning away! Vanessa's baby was a more realistic newborn. Rhys should really back off and let Vanessa and Lucas try to make a go of it. I wonder if the arrival of the baby might make him see things differently...

Just can't care a lot about Toadie - I went right off his character during the ridiculous fake Steph wedding and he was a such a misery when Connor was back. I don't think being in a relationship suits him.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Mon 04-Feb-13 19:54:07

Not usually drawn to Lucas but he looked quite sexy holding that baby grin

BookFairy Mon 04-Feb-13 23:02:27

That he did!

Gosh it was all v emotional. I'm sure Sonya will be fine - Dr Karl is there after all!

Jojobump1986 Tue 05-Feb-13 00:52:07

Is it just me that's a bit annoyed that the home-birth ended up in a c-section but the planned hospital birth was textbook? They're really not helping women feel confident about home-births! I was so excited when Sonia said she wanted a home-birth but I feel a bit let down now. It doesn't matter how many times the characters say it wasn't because of the home-birth plan, the fact is that they chose that one to get complicated. Why can no-one ever have a birth that doesn't involve rushing to the hospital?! Pff. Stupid soaps! The fact that I'm planning my second homebirth & am very hormonal at the moment is irrelevant here! wink

PuffPants Tue 05-Feb-13 10:05:50

Jojo I suppose they're saying that deciding to have a home birth is a very risky decision because you do not have all the facts. Successful home births like yours (which must have been great btw) are mostly down to luck. Absolutely anything can happen in any birth no matter how your pregnancy has gone or how many babies you've had. A life-threatening emergency can come out of nowhere and no amount of hypnotherapy will help you.

But I do agree that nobody has a straightforward birth on tv! And they are usually in agony with the first contraction and pushing with the second! Preferably on Christmas Eve at the nativity play grin

AmandinePoulain Tue 05-Feb-13 14:14:46

I'm grin at the thought of a hospital insisting on cloth nappies. If they suggested that where I work there'd be a mass walk out! And I say that as a cloth user wink grin

The whole home birth thing was handled quite badly - where were the community mws to check up on her before the whole dash to hospital thing? hmm And why isn't Sonya allowed to room in with the baby? confused

SpanishFly Tue 05-Feb-13 14:17:44

i quite liked that they were saying that she shouldnt have been so adamant in not going to the hospital, esp as the contractions had slowed, and she hadnt felt her moving for a while.
ime people I know who have had/want a homebirth are the ones who seem to blind to that fact that comlications can happen. Just my experience!

And the reason given for the use of cloth nappies was pretty weak - so that the midwives could see the baby's poos! They could be just as easily seen in a disposable nappy, surely. << may be over thinking this >>

PuffPants Tue 05-Feb-13 17:39:35

Cloth nappies? In hospital? How on earth do you wash them? Do you have to stagger to the laundry room clutching your stitches and a box of Dreft?!

SpanishFly Tue 05-Feb-13 17:46:16

yeah, that was baffling. Poos aren't invisible in disposable nappies. <if only>

AmandinePoulain Tue 05-Feb-13 18:55:55

We aren't even allowed to cut our babies' nails never mind go near them with nappy pins? Can you imagine the health and safety assessment for that? grin

MsTimTam Tue 05-Feb-13 20:03:12

Cloth nappy thing baffling... possibly a plot device to allow Toadie and Callum a 'we can look after the baby aren't we ace' moment that you wouldn't get with a disposable nappy?
I loved how they dashed home, seemingly just leaving Nell in the room by herself - worrying!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 05-Feb-13 20:20:26

Yes, that's what I assumed it was too.

Nearly spat my tea out at the 'we only use cloth nappies to see the poo' bollocks !! grin

Willabywallaby Wed 06-Feb-13 06:51:15

I only caught the last 10 mins, what was the bit about the cloth nappies?

She looked like she'd made a full recovery though, that's a relief!

SpanishFly Wed 06-Feb-13 13:06:59

yep, she'll be up and walking around in no time.
Toady and calum were left in charge of Nell. Toady said, "No problem! We have state-of-the-art biodegradable nappies" sort of thing, and Karl replied, "Good for you, but in the hospital it's cloth nappies, so the nurses can see the bowel movements" !!

PuffPants Wed 06-Feb-13 14:12:56

The woman playing Priya Kapoor is a terrible actress. All stuttery and wide-eyed. In fact, none of the Kapoors can act. They must have found them all together at some community centre acting-for-beginners open day.

While I'm feeling bitchy...anyone noticed Summer's ass these days? It's bigger each episode! shock

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 06-Feb-13 20:04:06

Is anyone else struggling with Ajay's logic of inviting Priya back to live with them but without properly explaining this to his teenage daughter who was last seen stabbing mum's clothes with a pair of scissors??

I can see the logic of trying to mend relationships but this just seems to be like chucking oil on a fire!! is that just a plot device for more juicy confrontation scenes by the sad story writers?

Willabywallaby Wed 06-Feb-13 20:31:44

Very weird.

I was busy hmm over the belt on Carmel's outfit today, more weirdness.

CoffeeandDunkingBiscuits Wed 06-Feb-13 21:15:54

Haven't watched neighbours since being a teen, but recognise most of these names!

Also, as an Aussie, can I tell you that home births are quite rare, at least, nothing like they as over here, at least they weren't seven and five years ago when I had my boys. Almost unheard of. I did not know a single person to have one and it is not offered as an option routinely like here.

Also, cloth nappies are huge in Oz, although only available to buy online. (Again, unless they have changed in the few years I have been in the uk. Quite possible! I sourced all my cloths from the Internet as could not buy any locally.)
And if you want disposable nappies in hospital you have to bring your own. They only provide cloth. They also do not provide formula routinely as they expect everyone to breast feed.

Anyway, massive tangent but thought I would explain the wierd oz hospital practises! smile

CoffeeandDunkingBiscuits Wed 06-Feb-13 21:17:07

Oh, and there is a linen bin for the cloth nappies and they whisk the, away and wash them for you!

PuffPants Thu 07-Feb-13 16:02:29

Good knowledge Coffee!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 07-Feb-13 17:14:12

That explains some of the background then!!

Oh nooooooo - more baby drama!

readyforno2 Fri 08-Feb-13 22:07:06

Can I join?
Been a lurker for a while but I love neighbours.
I don't really like Rhys, I kinda wish he would bugger off and let Vanessa and Lucas get together. Has anyone read the spoilers? What's wrong with the baby?

Always room for another one on the couch, readyforno2.

I haven't read any of the spoilers, but I am guessing heart problems.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sat 09-Feb-13 08:34:37

The straight forward birth just had to lead to complication for the baby later,no one gets off Scott free in soap land!

Willabywallaby Mon 11-Feb-13 18:08:12

I love the way only in neighbours the same 2 Drs treat everyone, isn't it unethical to treat a close friend hmm, and they deal with all aspects of medicine from the same hospital bed!

anonacfr Mon 11-Feb-13 18:27:31

And lawyer! Toadie has so far defended all his neighbours and his girlfriend. Surely that can't be allowed!

anonacfr Mon 11-Feb-13 18:27:54

And lawyer! Toadie has so far defended all his neighbours and his girlfriend. Surely that can't be allowed!

CecyHall Mon 11-Feb-13 19:55:45

I was quite glad that they both still had a bit of tummy bump after just giving birth, not gone back to flat straight away as in lots of soaps.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Mon 11-Feb-13 21:06:33

And teachers!...in the one classroomed school!!

montage Mon 11-Feb-13 21:19:54

Sonya may have been reluctant to go to Erinsborough General in particular - they weren't exactly great with the obs.

Susan and Carmel had gone home, cooked dinner/gotten takeaway and had the ooportunity to discuss the etiquette of one's husband hitting on the other, before anyone twigged that Sonya was unconscious rather than asleep - and it was Toadie that twigged first in the end.

readyforno2 Mon 11-Feb-13 21:24:23

I liked that too cecy, much more realistic. I hate it when soap mums go home with miraculously flat stomachs.

Did you notice how Patrick was sometimes in an isolette and sometimes in a basinette today? Or how, when he was lying in the basinette, swaddled up to the eyebrows, with not a wire in sight, the ECG was still beeping!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 15-Feb-13 17:36:14

AyJay resigned?? But he only just strap rated in the job!!

MsTimTam Sat 16-Feb-13 10:37:23

I couldn't believe Rhys - "your brand new baby may need heart surgery but don't think about, let's plan our wedding instead!' Really?

And also, would they really make a tiny baby go for tests without a parent? I have no experience of this but surely that can't be true hmm

(I'm getting way too invested in this storyline aren't I? wink)

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sat 16-Feb-13 11:02:40

We were with our DD all through each test with her hole in the heart. It was an exhausting day on many levels.
And yeah, even Rhy's character wouldn't be that insensitive!!

Oh I don't know - I think Rhys could be that insensitive. And Vanessa is far too good for him and should marry Lucas.

I was a bit surprised that Sonya was able to leave Nell for quite some time, and Toadie could take her into the office - how is she being fed? I assume that a desire to breastfeed would accompany Sonya's desire for as natural as possible a birth at home, but there's been no indication of anyone feeding Nell yet - or at least, not since Toadie and Callum had to, whilst Sonya was in surgery.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sat 16-Feb-13 16:51:03

Lol!

'Your baby needs an op and to take your mind off it, let's plan our wedding!'

I believe there is a Sonya breastfeeding in public storyline coming up which did make me wonder about the surgery time too!

PuffPants Sat 16-Feb-13 18:29:58

Sonya does seen to be having plenty of me time for a brand-new mother!

I would have assumed Nell would have had to be formula fed while Sonya was in hospital - surely it's not easy to start bfing after a few days? Obviously I don't know this for sure!

So glad Vanessa ditched Rhys. I do think he loved her but it's too complicated and I think she should give Lucas a chance - or just be co-parents for a while without others in the way.

Baby Patrick is gorgeous.

scrappydappydoo Sat 16-Feb-13 22:33:53

Grr - the whole baby Nell storyline is driving me bonkers. Sonja hasn't really been near the baby instead we get 'comedy' moments with Toadie and Calum looking after the baby. Was anyone else screaming at the tv for them just pick the baby up when they trying to stop her crying and ho ho ho she likes country music. And let me take a baby into the office instead of just dropping her off with sonja at the doctors or anyone else in the road hmm
And Vanessa and Lucas - oh yes please take our newborn baby off for 'tests' without asking what they were for or if they could come as well - good grief..
And AJ?? Who does a job like a lawyer just because he wanted to support his family - and oh yes let me quit on a whim. Don't get me started on the whole Pria/Paul thing..
I think I have way too much invested in this programme...

BookFairy Sat 16-Feb-13 22:58:10

scrappy I've been watching Neighbours for ages. I just accept and move on!

SDT I completely agree that Rhys does not deserve Vanessa. I think Lucas and Vanessa will start exchanging loving glances soon smile Like I said above - Neighbours isn't great with the technicalities! There is a breastfeeding in public storyline coming up this week so we'll see what they do with that.

readyforno2 Sat 16-Feb-13 23:09:44

Have to agree I really don't like Rhys. Just catching up now.
I don't really get how the breast feeding thing is going to work.. You never see her being fed. Also, she is huge for a baby who is meant to be a week old.
Ajay is such a wet blanket. He's so boring. I guess they're leaving so the new family can move it there.

moajab Sun 17-Feb-13 01:08:21

I've been wondering about the age of baby Nell. In Australia I think they miss some time over Christmas, so maybe Nell is a month old now? She certainly doesn't look like a newborn. But then why does Sonya still need so much rest?

And I didn't like the way Vanessa was so totally unconcerned about all the tests her baby was having. Even if they had been totally routine, as a new mum you're still paranoid. But glad she's ditched Rhys and hope she gets with Lucas soon.

MsTimTam Sun 17-Feb-13 09:11:49

scrappy - I was shouting at the telly to just pick Nell up as well! But not as much material for the writers if she falls asleep on Toadie as he sits and watches telly.

I normally suspend disbelief (the previously mentioned super Drs and lawyers and the one roomed hospital) but for some reason the baby stuff is irritating me... although both babies are very cute and hopefully it will mean Vanessa and Lucas end up together.

Willabywallaby Sun 17-Feb-13 17:52:30

I missed it Friday shock, so she ditched Rhys?

I also thought if Sonya was so into natural parenting she would have Nell with her at all times, not stick in ear plugs and let the other two get on with it.

BookFairy Sun 17-Feb-13 21:52:55

Willaby you mean to say that you had more important things to do than watch Neighbours shock grin Yep Vanessa told Rhys where to go. Hopefully Lucas will enter stage left and all will be well.

There are continuity errors left, right, and centre in Neighbours - no surprise the writers have forgotten that Sonya is the original Earth Mother!

moajab Mon 18-Feb-13 08:48:22

Yes, Sonya would have had a sling, which Toadie could have walked Nell in or she would have taken Nell to bed, fed her and they both would have slept together. No way would she be left to scream.

Clawdy Mon 18-Feb-13 22:35:54

Thought Kate looked rather like Beth Tweddle tonight. Is she going to end up with Rhys?

PuffPants Tue 19-Feb-13 00:04:48

I've thought these two would end up together since the start. Remember their torrid one-night stand?

qazxc Tue 19-Feb-13 19:07:19

About patrick's web fundraiser. If I was Lucas and Vanessa and i didn't know that the page had been set up, or who did it after asking people, i would assume someone was running a scam to defraud people using my baby as a cover. I would also wonder how on earth they got a picture of my baby.

I don't want to say stuff about the bf story line as not to spoil it for people.

DaPrincessBride Tue 19-Feb-13 19:12:20

Re Rhys and Kate, I thought so too BUT...(dum dum ddddddummmm)

Mark Brennan is coming back! Could be interesting!

BlueSkySoftSand Tue 19-Feb-13 19:23:10

Marking my place . . . going on maternity in 8 weeks (well alright!) and cannot wait to be watching neighbours every single day. Oh yes!

I had a sneak peak on the website to see what has been happening since I returned to work and have been catching up on an episode here and there.

Clawdy Tue 19-Feb-13 19:45:21

Re baby Patrick's fundraiser - I know there isn't a NHS like ours in Oz,but does it mean without fundraising,he will not be operated on? surely not?

qazxc Tue 19-Feb-13 20:03:04

Well as Vanessa has given up work to be with patrick, i am sure her and lucas need money that would have come from her wage for bills.

BookFairy Tue 19-Feb-13 21:04:18

But Mark Brennan is dead shock

readyforno2 Tue 19-Feb-13 21:54:45

But is he really???
I really want Karl and Susan to get back together..

AmandinePoulain Wed 20-Feb-13 14:22:29

I'm finding it all very irritating at the moment!

Why isn't Sonya breastfeeding/using reusable nappies/baby wearing? And I'm sure that when she first arrived she was a vegan, but she doesn't seem to be anymore? confused

Why was Vanessa working until she went into labour? And now stressing about money, has she never heard of maternity leave?

Why is Karl Patrick's doctor? Wtf - he's a neonatologist/ paediatric cardiologist now?! Are there really only 2 doctors and 2 nurses in that huge (from the outside anyway - it's like the exact opposite of the Tardis grin) hospital?

I knew Brennan wouldn't really be dead, a bit like Connor really grin

AmandinePoulain Wed 20-Feb-13 14:33:56

And is anyone else cringing at Neighbours Remixed?

scrappydappydoo Wed 20-Feb-13 20:52:32

Oh yes - what's all this about a new neighbours theme tune???? Love the failed pop stars (cough-stefan dennis-cough) being part of the challenge.

MsTimTam Wed 20-Feb-13 20:56:45

Complete cringe!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 20-Feb-13 20:57:33

I think we should enter grin we could be a group....

BookFairy Wed 20-Feb-13 22:55:58

grin
slightly tempted

Willabywallaby Thu 21-Feb-13 08:35:37

Like a shot if I could sing...sadgrin

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 21-Feb-13 10:15:11

That would be the sheer beauty of our entry grin

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 21-Feb-13 10:20:39

Does anyone else remember Rosanne Barr 'singing' the American national anthem that time?

Like that smile

SavoyCabbage Thu 21-Feb-13 10:35:11
MsTimTam Thu 21-Feb-13 11:05:14

Could I be the one in the group whose microphone is switched off? wink

Willabywallaby Thu 21-Feb-13 11:30:17

I couldn't see the house, must've been snapped up!

Willabywallaby Thu 21-Feb-13 11:32:43

4YO now copying Roseanne, where's the hands over ears emoticon?

AmandinePoulain Thu 21-Feb-13 14:20:40

I wish our local baby groups were in the pub wink grin

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 21-Feb-13 17:56:13

We used to meet in the pub sometimes and the most we got was a few embarrassed eye avoiding moments from some locals!!

She's still not spending much time with the baby though...Toady took her away!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 21-Feb-13 17:56:33

(Sorry about Rosanne grin)

PuffPants Thu 21-Feb-13 18:40:12

The web cam on the pram - controlling or what?!!

MsTimTam Thu 21-Feb-13 20:52:43

I thought that as well Puff.

Nell wears a lot of hats for summertime in Aus, although the turbo air conditioning in some places may explain that (must get out more if I've noticed this let alone come up for a plausible explanation!)

PuffPants Thu 21-Feb-13 21:30:29

How old is Nell supposed to be? 3 weeks? She's holding her own head!!

Willabywallaby Thu 21-Feb-13 22:56:18

They could have at least flashed a tiny bit of flesh for the bar bloke to be disgusted by, most discrete feeding I've ever seen confused

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 22-Feb-13 07:48:15

Yeah but in reality they aren't going to flash sonya's boobs on daytime tv, however ironic that is to the plot line!

And most feeds are discrete...it's usually other people worried that the mum will flop them out on the table that causes concern!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 22-Feb-13 07:53:22

I did find myself getting irritated by sonya's reaction though. The press, really?!!

And I thought also that Tash would have had the business sense, at least, to apologise! Especially if your boss is telling you too and you have been corrected over a point of law!

CecyHall Fri 22-Feb-13 10:26:32

Everything about Sonia, Toadie and Callum is annoying me just now.

Willabywallaby Fri 22-Feb-13 11:35:45

Tash is meant to be insensitive though, spot on for her character.

AmandinePoulain Fri 22-Feb-13 14:03:03

Seriously, apart from in the bar so they could do the whole breastfeeding storyline does Sonya ever feed that child? confused

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 22-Feb-13 16:29:07

True willaby!!!

It is all soooooo contrived though!

Katz Fri 22-Feb-13 21:23:24

Didnt Sonya have a c section? She's up and about very quickly. At least Vanessa is still getting up out of the chair in Patrick's room like someone who's given birth. Given that both babies were born on the same day, why the difference?

Don't forget this is Neighbours, where one can go from completely paralysed to walking perfectly normally in a matter of days, Katz!

Katz Fri 22-Feb-13 22:37:25

Very true, I love it and it is certainly a welcome break from the stress of Real life ith its far fetched story lines and miracle recoveries and doctors who can do everything. Oh and houses with hundreds of bedrooms which can accomodate everyone.

CecyHall Tue 26-Feb-13 17:15:17

Bloody Digital Spy on Twitter not hiding the spoiler angry

montage Tue 26-Feb-13 23:56:47

Does anyone else reckon that the "big boss" coming out to take over the newspaper from England will be Sarah?

montage Tue 26-Feb-13 23:58:01

I think the difference there is that Vanessa is a slightly better actress than Sonya.

All she has to do at the moment, though, is stand by the isolette looking tortured, montage.

montage Wed 27-Feb-13 14:43:05

Don't worry, after a few crises, the baby's condition will disappear like every other ailment does on Ramsey Street and she can go back to standing over cupcakes looking tortured about her love triangle.

I'm not saying she's Meryl Streep, just that she's slightly better than Sonya.

PuffPants Wed 27-Feb-13 18:07:17

Another day, another trip to the spa for Sonya? Or is she just hiding in her room? God, that woman is having a gentle slide into motherhood!

Can't abide much more of Priya and her electric blue eyeshadow (in the middle of the day fgs) and woe is me routine. She such a bad actress, she makes Ajay look like Daniel Day Lewis.

AmandinePoulain Thu 28-Feb-13 13:10:53

So is Kate a fully qualified teacher now then? hmm confused

Clawdy Thu 28-Feb-13 19:59:24

Yes,she'll probably be Principal soon..! and then become a journalist after no training, then run the newspaper! like Susan did. Seem to remember Libby became a teacher almost overnight too...smile

Katz Sat 02-Mar-13 12:33:50

Libby did at least attend Uni because Susan went too, during her memory loss period!

montage Sat 02-Mar-13 20:36:46

Did she Katz? She also went when Zeke did (and got stalked on social media or something). She really does have issues about letting her children branch out on their own doesn't she? wink

I am not looking forward to Lou's family all turning up.

BookFairy Sun 03-Mar-13 08:27:39

I've been flathunting this week so I've missed quite a bit. Where are Lou's family going to live? Is this the daughter who went to live with her biological dad when it came out that her mum had had an affair while married to Lou? I think that happened anyway.....!

Katz Sun 03-Mar-13 08:48:29

No it's Lou other daughter Lauren the one who had an affair with brad and caused him and Beth to split up, she thought she was pregnant but it was an STD. She rode horses.

BookFairy Sun 03-Mar-13 19:02:53

Oooooooh. Thanks Katz smile

Clawdy Tue 05-Mar-13 17:44:58

Sonia's baby looks huge now...

Clawdy Tue 05-Mar-13 17:50:35

Oh poor Rhys.."She doesn't want me..."sad

PuffPants Tue 05-Mar-13 17:52:34

Goodness, Sarah looks a bit...um...jowly!

PuffPants Tue 05-Mar-13 17:53:55

And she sounds completely Australian now. I looked her up and it seems she's been living out there but, fgs, you'd think she'd be able to switch the accent back on.

scrappydappydoo Tue 05-Mar-13 17:55:48

But at least Sonja now seems to be actually looking after her baby - she was actually holding her today shock

Sarah doesn't look quite right, but I can't work out what's wrong.
Is she fat, is she pregnant, is she a man? confused

SpanishFly Tue 05-Mar-13 19:01:03

I dont think I watched it when Sarah was on it previously, but she's very familiar to me. Cant think why.

Clawdy Tue 05-Mar-13 21:10:14

Sarah looks much bigger and that hairstyle is doing her no favours.

readyforno2 Tue 05-Mar-13 22:22:27

She does look pregnant.. Also looks like she's had a shit load of Botox. Her forehead doesn't move at all

BookFairy Wed 06-Mar-13 00:30:34

The actress who plays Sarah is apparently making a special appearance in my hometown soon grin Her accent sounds weird and she looks the same yet different confused

SpanishFly Wed 06-Mar-13 07:09:05

I love the changing-the-facts scriptwriting, now that Sarah was available to return for a while. So now they slept together but it's been a secret the whole time!

BookFairy Wed 06-Mar-13 08:40:16

I thought that Susan split up with Karl (for the first of many times) because he slept with Sarah? How could it now be a secret?!

SpanishFly Wed 06-Mar-13 10:45:03

From what I read on wiki, it was "only a kiss" between them, but it was enough to split up Karl and Susan. As I say, I didnt watch it religiously then, so I can't remember whether it was "just a kiss" at that time.
Wouldn't surprise me if the story has changed from various angles!

montage Wed 06-Mar-13 19:29:13

I don't recall their sleeping together at all.

But considering the highly ridiculous backtracking they did when they decided that Sonia was actually Callum's mother, making Karl and Sarah sleep together retrospectively would be minor league by Neighbour's standards!

Katz Wed 06-Mar-13 19:45:47

Back in the day it was portrayed as only a kiss but a full blown affair would ave made more sense.

montage Wed 06-Mar-13 20:59:11

He also gave her a lift to the church on her wedding day when the car broke down.

This was seen as massively secret, obviously revealed and a huge betrayal of Susan IIRC.

I think the actress looks strange now as they are trying to style her exactly as she was 15 years ago.

Willabywallaby Thu 07-Mar-13 11:19:55

I wish I could remember this.

montage Thu 07-Mar-13 18:51:17

Willaby,

This is the kiss:

This is Karl driving Sarah to the church (Karl looking very 90s!): www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9HwO7OWmSE

This is Susan confronting Karl:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=PevV0Cujv7E

Be warned that every neighbours moment ever is on youtube and one may lead to another...

readyforno2 Thu 07-Mar-13 20:29:14

Wow, They don't do crashes like that anymore!
It's so true.. Once you start youtubing it's very difficult to stop. Just watched the episode where stingray dies. Brought a wee tear to my eye blush

IAmNotACaterpillar Thu 07-Mar-13 21:06:02

I did the Neighbours tour last year and met the lovely young man who played Stingray! I was the only one there who had actually watched him die - told him I'd sobbed for hours (although that could also have been down to the post-birth hormones having only just had dd).

readyforno2 Thu 07-Mar-13 23:45:10

I cried for ages. It was a very emotional episode..
Very jealous. The neighbours set is definitely on my bucket list!

Katz Fri 08-Mar-13 07:43:57

I love neighbours, I've been a life long fan, I watched back inthr days of max and Marie and when Paul was in his teens/twenties and living with Helen and Jim.

SpanishFly Fri 08-Mar-13 09:10:24

This week reminded me that Paul left for a while (he seems to have ALWAYS been there!). Sarah an Lauren both had to be introduced to him, despite being characters from the past!

He was off doing River City for a while.

SpanishFly Fri 08-Mar-13 09:16:11

And why are there so few GOOD charaters in it just now?
Kyle and his gran = great
Georgia = has potential
Vanessa = meh
Lucas = fine
Kate and sophie = eff off
Kapurs = blah
Lou = physically turns my stomach
New arrivals Lauren and Mike = hmm. Kids might be entertaining
Tash/Andrew = always entertaining
Chris = fine
Paul = the best
Karl and Susan = fab
If Karl, Susan and Paul weren't in it I'd struggle to stay interested.

SpanishFly - they could wipe the Kapurs out in a freak meteor strike tomorrow, and I wouldn't care one bit.

Georgia is just too perky and enthusiastic for me - I would find myself itching to slap her within moments of meeting her.

Sophie is better than Kate, imo - and I always wonder how the hell it is that Kate manages to keep her job, given the dodgy decisions she seems to make - like not telling the principal that her own daughter is wagging school, and letting her own sister wag school to search for her.

Vanessa - yes, a bit meh, but standing over an incubator doing concerned face is not stretching her acting talents at all.

Karl and Susan should just get back together. I will bang their heads together if neccessary.

Tash and Andrew - very good value, but should never, ever date.

Chris needs a lovely new boyfriend, without all the angst of whatsisname the nurse.

Generally, with the exception of perky Georgia, there is far too much standing around looking tortured and heathcliffian.

SpanishFly Fri 08-Mar-13 11:32:37

The problem with Vanessa is that - until recently - she was only there to be the object of men's desires, be pregnant, and mention cooking in EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE! It was so nauseating!

Maybe asking her to do all that overstretched her acting abilities, hence her current 'stand looking sad' role.

mamaonion Fri 08-Mar-13 19:50:38

I'm just watching last week on catch up, and loving toady carrying baby rolled up towel in a sling. Seems Ramsay st way ahead on natural child rearing approaches compared to uk shows!

Willabywallaby Mon 11-Mar-13 20:34:44

But isn't the sling technique a bit dodgy? Baby/towel totally enveloped by sling...

Feeling sorry for Callum today, he's never going to get the girl is he?

And I now want Karl and Susan to get together, wasn't bothered last week.

Katz Wed 13-Mar-13 17:47:25

I love the way the baby switches between a real one, a doll and a towel!

PuffPants Wed 13-Mar-13 22:09:05

Oh god, Nell's headband - the horror!

Clawdy Wed 13-Mar-13 22:19:17

What I thought, PuffPants ! smile

grumpywompy Thu 14-Mar-13 12:39:50

did anyone notice today's episode..the crying lady in the bright pink dress at the beginning with Susan Kennedy. the one who had apparently just been fired. she was working In the news paper office behind Susan in the last scene smile

I love neighbours

grumpywompy Thu 14-Mar-13 12:44:28

oh n Sarah doesn't appear to have changed her hair or makeup since the mid 90s

MsTimTam Thu 14-Mar-13 19:58:11

Angie is so horrific she's brilliant, glad she's staying for a bit. Do you think the scriptwriters read some of the MIL threads on here for inspiration? wink

Clawdy Fri 15-Mar-13 17:57:01

Lauren's daughter...sitting at a school desk...looks at least twenty-five.

PuffPants Fri 22-Mar-13 18:13:28

Why are Lauren and her family so poor? He's in the police, she works in the coffee shop and they're shacking up with Lou. Hardly on the breadline! When they do have a spare fiver, they really should get the youngest boy a haircut.

dopeysheep Fri 22-Mar-13 18:17:51

I think they have got some dodgy debts. Probably paying off the older brother's drug pimp or something. They def didn't have enough money to feed that horse he was a bit skinny!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 22-Mar-13 20:58:28

I felt a bit sorry for that blimmin' horse being shipped this way and that! They seemed to find it very easy to sell on..

And don't get me started on how pathetic Chris is being! Do these people never learn???

PuffPants Fri 22-Mar-13 21:31:30

I know! Queensland to Melbourne and back again would take days!

MsTimTam Sun 24-Mar-13 20:38:18

Stop the presses - just saw a teaser ad for Neighbours -to summarise, I think there is going to be some kind of fire at Sonya and Toadie's wedding, there were photos of Rhys, Callum and some of the others burning and then the final voice over of the ad was 'not all weddings have happy endings... Neighbours - the explosion'

And then the date flashed up - 16.04.13

As much as Neighbours is due the drama and fallout from an explosion or mass car accident, I can't help but wish that Toadie and Sonya come out unscathed, I am still scarred by the Dee wedding... hmm

All theories need to be discussed in detail right here smile (but no spoilers please)

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sun 24-Mar-13 20:42:57

Ok...Toadie must have a wedding that actually results in him having a bride by the end of the evening!!!!

(All I can remember from the Dee wedding was him and her driving off in the car with happy dopey stupid grins on their faces....kind of made me glad when they flew off the cliff)

Lotkinsgonecurly Sun 24-Mar-13 20:44:54

It'll be like the plane crash again.

dopeysheep Sun 24-Mar-13 20:45:49

Karl Kennedy was burning. Is he finally going?
And why does Toadie look so mean and moody in that clip? Like something out of The Sopranos.
Hopefully Bossy the weird dingo/fox/dog will heroically pull someone from the rubble.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sun 24-Mar-13 20:55:38

There is no doubt a cull is long overdue!! Can it be a selective fire that only flames really very wooden actors??

MsTimTam Sun 24-Mar-13 22:06:52

Oooh, maybe Karl will go? Because I think (and could be wrong) that someone earlier in the thread said Tash was leaving soon, so if Karl is gone and Tash is gone, there will be a spare house for Lou's family to move into... but then Erinsborough will only have one super all rounder Dr...

I think Bossy is a kelpie, they're an Australian working dog, probably/possibly bred with dingoes in the past, I love them. I defo think Bossy heroism should be written into the storyline at some point.

readyforno2 Sun 24-Mar-13 22:44:31

Noooo... Carl can't go! He and Susan NEED to get back together.
I don't want lou's family to stay, I'm bored of this story already.
As for the wedding, I really don't want it to end badly, but, they've not had a tragedy on that scale for ages so its going to have to happen.
I agree with the poster who said about the horse too.

PuffPants Mon 25-Mar-13 09:18:25

I really don't think Dr Karl is going anywhere - he's a Neighbours lifer. I'm sure he and Susan will end up together, although frankly their break-ups are becoming so tedious and implausible I'm not sure I care anymore.

Willabywallaby Mon 25-Mar-13 10:44:59

I've not seen a whole episode in weeks, getting withdrawal symptoms, thank God for this thread grin

SpanishFly Mon 25-Mar-13 18:31:04

I was unnecessarily excited when there was a scene in Lou/Lucas's kitchen. We haven't been in there for ages - I don't remember tash and her dad ever being in there. Possibly Steph and Max were the last to use it?!

MsTimTam Mon 25-Mar-13 20:31:11

I was v excited by that as well!

twitchycurtains Mon 25-Mar-13 22:47:19

I just joined the thread to ask wtf have they done to Sarah?, the woman is stuck in a timewarp style and makeup wise, she has exactly the same style hair and makeup she had first time round which isn't exactly flattering cut the damn pony tail woman, is it deliberate ploy on behalf of the writers to make sure we all remember who she is?. I don't watch regularly now but used to be an avid viewer when Sarah was on first time round.

SpanishFly Wed 27-Mar-13 13:10:04

I've just realised why Toadie is "away with work" - cos he's filming Celebrity Big Borther!!

SpanishFly Wed 27-Mar-13 14:19:57

The woman who plays Lauren is 39!!! Shelooks much much older - shows you what living in the sunshine does for you...

KittyMcAllister Wed 27-Mar-13 14:31:46

Noooo, Karl cannot die! He has to get back with Susan. I did read about some characters who were leaving so maybe the fire will be their exit? Toadie is part of the furniture tho & the show wouldn't be the same without him, and he deserves a happy ending. Think the new kids are really wooden & irritating!

They killed off some characters in a bush fire, a few years ago, didn't they? And then there was the fire started by the dodgy christmas tree lights in Lynne's house (and don't get me started on how a couple of neighbourhood barbies and a quick fundraising drive and hey presto they could afford all the work needed to repair the house hmm). They really shouldn't be trusted with naked flames, should they??!

SpanishFly Wed 27-Mar-13 20:37:49

And there was a plane crash! Erinsborough really does have a lot of bad luck

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 27-Mar-13 20:41:10

Wasn't there a Lassiters fire too?

I think Paul started it either before/during his brain tumor years (after he lost the leg that he occasionally remembers to limp on)

SpanishFly Wed 27-Mar-13 21:04:00

Yes, when Lou owned the bar and it was all made of wood! But it wasn't Paul who started it, I can't remember the guy's name!

SpanishFly Wed 27-Mar-13 21:05:57

Gus!
Actually did Paul do it but set up Gus?

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 27-Mar-13 21:08:48

Yes, I think so. Paul killed Gus in the fire he set in an attempt to buy back Lassiters.. Evil Paul days!!!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 27-Mar-13 21:10:14
montage Wed 27-Mar-13 21:57:14

I do like Paul's occasional recall of his limp. It's as sporadic as his son's accent.

montage Wed 27-Mar-13 21:58:58

If Brennan is coming back they will obviously have to give Kate a love interest first, to create another love triangle.

SpanishFly Thu 28-Mar-13 07:46:52

Excellent - I LOVE when kates involved in a major storyline <lies>

Why was kate with priya when they were suspending that boy for setting up the Facebook page?! What on earth did it have to do with her? !!

MsTimTam Thu 28-Mar-13 13:44:13

SpanishFly - dh and I said the same thing - one second she's snogging students and at uni, the next she's apparently a fully qualified teacher sitting in on suspension meetings, interesting career path!

SpanishFly Thu 28-Mar-13 16:03:14

and - as predicted - Kate has a man interested in her, with the arrival of Mehk Brennan due any time now.

Surely even Kate can't fall for the sleazy smarmy charms of that bloke??

KittyMcAllister Thu 28-Mar-13 17:40:54

What on earth is the appeal with Kate? Why does every man in a five mile radius fancy her? confused I just don't get it! But on the other hand I'm not going to complain about yummy Mark Brennan being back. And isn't it great to see Karl & Susan back together? Yay!

SpanishFly Thu 28-Mar-13 17:46:21

Yes re the Kennedys! Sarah was so right when she said they've got the relationship everyone else wants. Their chemistry is great.

montage Thu 28-Mar-13 20:29:54

Kate will keep being promoted into meetings with Priya that have nothing to do with her as they don't have any other teachers to put in a scene.

They should've employed Lou's daughter in the school in the same way that they conveniently put Aiden/Georgia/Rhys in the hospital so that Karl would've have someone to talk to.

Did Kate and Lou not live in the same house? With Lucas? Does she live with Paul now?

DaPrincessBride Thu 28-Mar-13 20:39:31

Tragically, I get updates from the neighbours page on FB (yes it's shameful!) and I can confirm that two main characters die in the explosion...it looks sad on a Drew level...

PuffPants Thu 28-Mar-13 22:04:27

I'm hoping the Kapoors go up in smoke.

However...I have read who's leaving and my money's on Rhys. He'll go in a blaze (literally) of glory, running in to save people.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 29-Mar-13 07:29:03

In a moment of final altruism and self sacrifice!!

montage Fri 29-Mar-13 20:27:09

They no longer have a use for Rhys if Vanessa is with Lucas. If he goes I bet he dies from injuries sustained in saving Vanessa.

montage Fri 29-Mar-13 20:31:14

Also I had the horrible thought today that Mark Brennan may turn out to be Amber's top-secret boyfriend and was one of her father's colleagues. I know her boyfriend is older than her but they wouldn't actually do that with his character would they?

The only person she has told about her boyfriend is Kate which concerns me as that would be irony Erinsborough style.

Katz Sat 30-Mar-13 09:10:55

I don't get them trying to pair Kate and mason, he's 18 she must be in her twentys as she wasn't in school with Chris tash Andrew and summer. Who seem to now never go to Uni but were starting their second year recently.

Also confused as to how Kate went from 2 minutes teacher training to full staff member

Clawdy Sat 30-Mar-13 15:44:29

Kate will be Principal soon...smile

SpanishFly Sat 30-Mar-13 18:05:41

montage good call - brennan will be amber's secret boyfriend!

montage Sat 30-Mar-13 20:46:02

It would be really strange though Spainish if he was! I seem to remember him as older than Kate.

Kate will be principal soon yes, now that Priya is out of the way for a while...

SpanishFly Sat 30-Mar-13 21:50:09

Yes he is was older and was quite high up in the police, iirc.
But it is Neighbours, to be fair!

montage Sat 30-Mar-13 22:18:27

Perhaps he will have retrospectively become a younger, lower- ranking police office by the time he returns?

In the same way that Karl and Sarah now retrospectively slept together 14 years ago in order to save the Kennedy's marriage in the present day and Sonya retrospectively gave birth to Callum - the Ally McBeal storyline where she discovered she had a daughter she never knew about was actually more believable than that.

There's a tardis involved here somewhere.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sat 30-Mar-13 22:26:40

Wow! Aussie timey wimey stuff!

SpanishFly Sat 30-Mar-13 22:45:05

I also love how sonya was being a wonderful new mum then suddenly out of the blue she's verging on going back on the drugs.

KittyMcAllister Sat 30-Mar-13 22:55:46

Sonya, a wonderful new mum...who seems never to feed her child unless it's for a clumsy plot device! And while we're on the subject Vanessa has mentioned "pumping" once, and says Patrick is too weak to breast feed so the nurses give him a bottle of her milk....I'm sorry but I'm a neonatal nurse & this really bothers me! If he was too weak to BF he'd be too weak to bottle feed as well and would be fed naso-gastrically. Not that there ever seem to be any nurses (or other babies) anyway... [must get a life emoticon].

Living with Angie is enough to send anyone running for the pharmaceuticals, IMO!

MsTimTam Wed 03-Apr-13 20:21:26

Loving the wee twist today! Should prove interesting as it plays out... Chris is a magnet for drama!

montage Wed 03-Apr-13 20:54:23

Susan has the makings of a good thread now -

"AIBU not to tell my dinner guest that she is losing her job and it has been offered to me? despite the lack of any advertising/interview or selection process and the fact that I have not set foot in a school for years.

Drip feed: both my friend and I only reconciled with our husbands extremely recently so I had been hoping our first dinner party would go well?

P.S. Isn't it handy that I never have to apply for jobs as they just keep getting handed to me!

Katz Wed 03-Apr-13 20:56:53

am i behind - watched today, when does susan get offered the principal job?

montage Wed 03-Apr-13 20:57:05

Sonya only started to feel stressed when she unexpectedly had to spend some time with Nell as Toadie/Callum/Rani/Susan/Angie/Georgia were not free.

It is certainly taking a village to raise that child!

montage Wed 03-Apr-13 20:57:33

In a phone call as the cliffhanger

Katz Wed 03-Apr-13 21:00:28

oh seem to miss that!

montage Wed 03-Apr-13 21:30:08

Is it possible that you had a day without neighbours recently? A bank holiday or something?

I'm in Ireland and the UK has been one day behind for ages. Is it possible that you're now two days behind? Mondays cliffhanger was "Is Scotty hitting on Chris" here. Tuesdays was Susan. Wednesdays I shall not reveal. If so, apologies as I am always v careful to only post about yesterdays episode but previous post may be a big fat accidental spoiler if we're moving further ahead over here!

AmandinePoulain Wed 03-Apr-13 21:38:48

Kitty I thought that about the milk too, I was also annoyed that suddenly Karl and Rhys are paediatric cardiologists hmm and that Georgia seems to change departments on a daily basis hmm <fellow NN nurse who took years to specialise here>; I'm sure that teachers also pull a hmm face about Kate's complete lack of any teaching qualifications and Susan's lack of journalism ones hmm. Holby City annoyed me years ago for the same reason when a few characters just decided to become nurses and suddenly 'poof!' they were working on the ward...

Katz Wed 03-Apr-13 21:41:01

ah scotty hitting on chris was tonight and tomorrow it looks like he discusses it with Kyle.

Don't worry I like spoilers!

montage Wed 03-Apr-13 21:49:55

I'll bear in mind we are 2 days ahead now. Especially when it comes to Toadie's wedding...

Ohh I hope Toadie's wedding goes well - he is one of my favourite characters on the show, and whilst I occasionally find Sonya a bit irritating, I don't want anything to happen to her either.

I have the official Neighbours page on my FB, and today I got a picture of Paul being consoled by Kate, and talks about him struggling to overcome his grief - so who is he grieving for? I suppose it could be Priya - to be honest, there isn't a long list of people Paul really cares for - enough to have to struggle with grieving for them anyway, is there? There's Kate, Sophie, Andrew, Susan, maybe, Priya, possibly - I can't think of anyone else off the top of my head.

Chocotrekkie Thu 04-Apr-13 14:27:58

If you do want to know who dies its all over the soap forums on http://digitalspy.co.uk/

TwllBach Thu 04-Apr-13 18:37:41

Kate is doing my head in grin
She can just take time off at lunch and find a room to hire ou on the same day at the community centre to choreograph their wedding dance??

I bloody luff neighbours grin

montage Thu 04-Apr-13 19:02:04

I can figure out who dies just from this thread - SDTG's post confirms an earlier one about which actors are leaving. I am now feeling somewhat sad in advance.

I am bloody devastated Kate is obviously staying though.

Katz Thu 04-Apr-13 19:15:24

Susan has now had the phone call, she's not taught for years but obviously will be the new principle!

SpanishFly Thu 04-Apr-13 19:28:59

Pleeeeeeeeease no actual spoilers - the MASSIVE storyline coming up will be ruined for those who don't want to know who dies

TomDudgeon Thu 04-Apr-13 20:02:03

Why I'd they never put angie against kyles gran. That would have been a battle and a half

montage Thu 04-Apr-13 20:33:44

I suppose we should be relieved the job wasn't given to Kate. I did wonder when they mentioned Libby recently if she was due to return and swell the ranks of the teaching staff but obviously it's Susan instead.

I'm not interested in Lou's grandchildren but I guess we are in for more school-based storylines with them and Callum/Sophie/Rani if they are sending Susan back...

I would also like to second no spoilers - I didn't actually want to know and now I do confused

AmandinePoulain Thu 04-Apr-13 20:44:17

I'm a bit angry that on a Neighbours reminiscing thread in Chat someone has just said who dies, so avoid that thread if you don't want to know (and I didn't angry)

BookFairy Thu 04-Apr-13 20:52:45

Thank you for the warning Amandine ! I wanted Toadie to finally have a happy wedding sad

montage Thu 04-Apr-13 21:09:46

I just read that Amandine, I'm actually raging. I really did NOT want to know that.

AmandinePoulain Thu 04-Apr-13 21:12:52

I know! I was enjoying the happy memories and now I'm just sad sad

FairyJen Thu 04-Apr-13 21:15:33

FFS I am sorry but the adverts on tv I thought everyone would have seen it! It wasn't my intention to spoil it for everyone it's been very very very well documented who's leaving

montage Thu 04-Apr-13 21:17:37

I wanted to ask the poster to delete it but it's been discussed in other posts now so pointless even if they did now I guess. I feel that thread should have a big warning notice on it now!

AmandinePoulain Thu 04-Apr-13 21:27:46

I'm so tragic that I've looked on the Australian fb page and the spoiler is wrong anyway grin

And I can also reveal that Lucy is coming back shock

FairyJen Thu 04-Apr-13 21:27:53

I may be wrong about death but they defo leaving

Hth

montage Thu 04-Apr-13 21:35:26

I have also researched it and that spoiler definitely seems to be wrong -the ad deliberately leaves it ambiguous about quite a few pwoplw so even if you do see it, it isn't a reveal.

montage Thu 04-Apr-13 21:36:06

pwopwl would be people

Lucy! I wonder which head she will have on?

AmandinePoulain Thu 04-Apr-13 21:49:07

She's...ummm, how to put this nicely...a little more cuddly since we last saw her grin

Clawdy Thu 04-Apr-13 22:51:28

I'm pretty certain that Chat spoiler is wrong. DD looked at the digitalspy spoiler site and she says it's someone else.

SpanishFly Fri 05-Apr-13 08:50:09

OK, IN CASE IT'S IN ANY WAY UNCLEAR, DO NOT POST ANY SPOILER ON THIS THREAD!!

SpanishFly Fri 05-Apr-13 08:51:49

just wanted to be very very clear.
Fairy, yes, the advert is on TV, but it doesnt show who dies, obviously!

And, in fact, since I watch most things from the Planner, and scan past all the adverts, I've only seen it once - and I only rewound it to watch cos someone on here mentioned it.

TwllBach Fri 05-Apr-13 09:09:44

Who's Lucy?

BookFairy Fri 05-Apr-13 09:11:32

J

BookFairy Fri 05-Apr-13 09:12:04

...just wondering the same thing confused

AmandinePoulain Fri 05-Apr-13 10:37:41

Lucy Robinson - Paul's little sister, she's been played by 3 different actresses hmm grin. She is probably best known for having a brain tumour back in the day, and for having an incestuous relationship with her half brother that the BBC censored.

Clawdy Fri 05-Apr-13 10:44:06

Wasn't she dancing in a club last time she reappeared? yes, she's had several different heads....

FrillyMilly Fri 05-Apr-13 10:59:08

I hope it's Priya who does but I doubt it. I'm glad Brenna is coming back but how Kate pulled him I'll never know. How old is Kate supposed to be anyway? Her and Kyle went to school together but I think they have aged them a little bit.

AmandinePoulain Fri 05-Apr-13 11:14:23

Kate has special time travelling powers I think - she's managed to fit her teaching degree into about 3 weeks grin

SpanishFly Fri 05-Apr-13 11:17:51

I'm just so delighted that Kate "THE DANCER" is back. I missed her stepping slowly in time to music, then everyone treating her like she had a gift from God.

montage Fri 05-Apr-13 13:24:33

First ever episode of neighbours I saw, the first Lucy was stuck down a storm drain.

SpanishFly Fri 05-Apr-13 14:15:46

I love how we've never seen any of Lassiters except for the reception desk, a function room, the Terrace and one hotel room. Now they've built a model of it, and apparently it's massive! But such a massive building wouldn't cast a shadow over the rest of the complex at any time!
And surely, with so many people staying in the hotel, there'd be a lot more people around charlie's etc?!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 05-Apr-13 16:43:59

Oh, yes! Montage, I remember that!

Didn't Bouncer find her??

PuffPants Sat 06-Apr-13 01:12:14

To those getting worked up about the alleged spoiler on the other thread, I can guarantee 100% that it is not true so don't worry about it.

SpanishFly Sun 07-Apr-13 17:35:10

Re Paul being upset - I think it's something to do with him selling apartments illegally, and the fire started as a result

montage Mon 08-Apr-13 21:33:04

I think Bouncer did find her Shipwrecked. Or it may have been in his dream...(that was a v low point for plot development).

Am v pleased that spoiler is not true as it would have ruined the run-up to the wedding.

Is anyone else finding Lou's grandchildren annoying? I can't summon up any interest in them at all.

KittyMcAllister Tue 09-Apr-13 19:30:49

I feel the same about the new family and their criminal past. Just a bit dull really. I wonder if Andrew will come clean and do the right thing - or if yet again being in Paul's favour will trump everything.

Katz Tue 09-Apr-13 21:23:08

I hope Andrew stands up to Paul. What I don't understand though is why would the deposit be lost surely if the planning doesn't come through then just return the deposit or has work started without planning consent?

Clawdy Tue 09-Apr-13 22:41:11

And surely they could sue him for fraud anyway? As if an astute businessman like Paul would take such a risk.

TomDudgeon Tue 09-Apr-13 22:46:58

I'm glad I'm not the only one not getting it.
Rhys makes me laugh. He seems to be the only realistic character in that he's grumpy. Everyone else is either joyful or tragic. No just having a bad day

BreconBeBuggered Wed 10-Apr-13 00:03:34

No, don't get the deposit thing either. And tell me - is anyone else having a hard time giving the tiniest toss what happens to Lou's family? Every time they're on I feel as if they've switched a scene with Home and Away or some other show I don't watch. Can't even remember any of their names, apart from Lauren-who-isn't-actually-Lauren.

KittyMcAllister Wed 10-Apr-13 18:07:34

Quite intruiged by this Scotty v Chris thing. Didn't see that one coming.

TwllBach Wed 10-Apr-13 18:50:34

Ooh Scotty is a massive knobhead! Poor Chris sad

Katz Wed 10-Apr-13 18:58:53

Yep, don't really care about the new family at all and the actress playing the daughter is way too old, her a Kate look the same age!

TomDudgeon Wed 10-Apr-13 20:02:22

I wasn't watching properly
Is that tattoo supposed to be real?
It would have taken hours so wouldn't work for their storyline if it is

bonzoed Wed 10-Apr-13 22:28:32

I was thinking that the new family are very Home and Away - and I stopped watching that years ago because it wasn't the sort of thing I wanted to watch.

bonzoed Wed 10-Apr-13 22:35:36

And the Amber actress is 22. Have they put her in school uniform yet. Presumably Robbo is 18 too - but looks nearer 30.

Indith Thu 11-Apr-13 07:55:32

Did someone say Toadie is getting married? Surely it must be time for Dee to do a Harold then grin. Hope he has learned his lesson about snogging while driving.

BreconBeBuggered Thu 11-Apr-13 09:38:50

Oh, how easy it was to avoid the spoilers in those Bliss-ful times. I was genuinely shocked at Dee and Toady's marriage coming to a watery conclusion before the honeymoon. I'm still a little bit traumatised if I think about that big splash too much. I waited years for her to crawl out of the water, you know.

montage Thu 11-Apr-13 18:57:43

I am still waiting for her to do a Harold. She is obviously wandering around somewhere with Ramsay Street Amnesia. Much like Zeke after his canoeing accident. And Susan when she slipped on some milk.

There was a scene where Libby sat on the beach with Toadie the day before he (didn't) marry Steph (the time it was meant to be real). It was like a repeat of the scene where Libby sat with Toadie while they searched for Dee in the water which was very sad as she had recently lost Drew. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Dee to emerge like an amnesiac mermaid from the waves.

According to FB, Steph is coming back to the street.

Katz Thu 11-Apr-13 23:00:57

So is Steph going to brake up toady and Sonya or Lucas and Vanessa? Do you think she'll have Charlie too or will the script writers have forgotten about him?

montage Fri 12-Apr-13 20:17:37

Bizarrely, the actress who plays Steph has a teenage son who will be playing a new teenage character in Neighbours - nothing to do with Steph AFAIK. The mother of his character will be played by Sophie from Home and Away.

You know you're getting old when teenagers that were older than you in Home and Away are now the mothers of teenagers in Neighbours...

SpanishFly Fri 12-Apr-13 21:22:04

Interesting! And the dad is Brad Willis (played by a different actor than previously) who used to go out with Lauren Carpenter. Fireworks set to happen.

montage Sat 13-Apr-13 10:33:28

Surfer-boy Brad? Aw, so it didn't quite work out with Natalie Imbruglia in the end then?

I'm not sure about this theme of bringing back characters played by different actors. I never feel like the actual character has returned.

Clawdy Sat 13-Apr-13 13:47:58

Perhaps we'll see Billy next...not visited Karl and Susan for many years!

Katz Sat 13-Apr-13 17:11:27

Billy has twins with Anne, they FaceTime or Skype occasionally with Susan and Karl.

TwllBach Sat 13-Apr-13 17:33:34

I am stupidly happy to hear that Billy and Anne are still together grin

Also, when I saw Bruce Willis, I read it as Bruce Willis and got quite excited...

PuffPants Sun 14-Apr-13 03:18:38

It always tickles me the way in soaps no family member ever comes back after they've moved away. Nt for weddings, funerals, major emotional trauma - nothing. I know they can't actually have the actors popping in all the time but you'd think they'd write in the occasional phone call. Other than Billy, nobody ever talks to anyone! Andrew Robinson has never once mentioned his mother back in Scotland. And what about Summer's dad who disappeared? Not even a text?!!

SpanishFly Sun 14-Apr-13 08:53:54

And in Neighbours, each time a character returns they move back to the same (tiny) street as they grew up in! How many people actually do that?

Hang on, if another new family are returning, that means a house must become vacant for them, does it not....?

Katz Sun 14-Apr-13 14:08:41

spanish - i assume Paul gets his planning consent and they get the lassiters penthouse as discussed on friday, leaving his house free. Its obvious that lucas and vanessa aren't going to move back into Ramsey street and will also buy an apartment too. Leaving their 'tardis' house for Lou's family once the mount isa house is sold - i've thought about this far too much!

SpanishFly Sun 14-Apr-13 17:16:04

But don't you think the fire has something to do with paul doing things badly at the complex?

Clawdy Sun 14-Apr-13 17:22:27

Apparently it's something to do with Sonya's wedding bouquet...!!

SpanishFly Sun 14-Apr-13 17:30:53

Oh of course it is.

montage Sun 14-Apr-13 20:10:54

I have seen it and will not offer any spoilers but the bouquet is indeed involved Clawdy.

(In Ireland the episode description on the onscreen tv guide gave the entire thing away just before I watched it hmm)

Katz Sun 14-Apr-13 21:53:35

They said on Friday that the planning wouldn't be passed until the building was up to code, so i guess something's dodgy at lassiters!

It is the wedding tomorrow then in England?

montage Mon 15-Apr-13 19:57:43

Must be as Ireland is 2 episodes ahead and we had it on friday. Am annoyed I cannot discuss the episode I saw today until Wednesday now! grin

Katz Mon 15-Apr-13 20:14:10

Nope no wedding today - looks like Tuesday then. Plus there's a 1 hour special on channel five tomorrow too.

montage Mon 15-Apr-13 20:19:56

I saw that. So you can essentially watch the wedding episode and the aftermath episode in one go at night? That's good as much melodramatic acting fun is had by all in the aftermath.

SpanishFly Mon 15-Apr-13 20:48:22

What time is the 1hr special? I cant see it

BreconBeBuggered Mon 15-Apr-13 21:29:02

10pm, Spanish.

SpanishFly Mon 15-Apr-13 22:08:59

Oooh thanks! Hadn't thought to look so late at night!

KittyMcAllister Tue 16-Apr-13 12:13:21

I didn't know about that special, thanks guys. I am properly looking forward to this afternoon's episode now, even DH wants to be kept up-to-date as well!

SpanishFly Tue 16-Apr-13 14:45:48

WOWZER!! What an episode! !

KittyMcAllister Tue 16-Apr-13 15:16:34

I know! Cannot WAIT for tonight's! There's a few potential casualties in there.

SpanishFly Tue 16-Apr-13 17:37:12

In some ways I want Priya out, BUT I couldn't cope with Ajay's puppy eyes, and Rani's "the last thing I said to her was that I hated her!!" drama

KittyMcAllister Tue 16-Apr-13 18:30:09

Hmm, I thought they were setting that up too. The whole Kapoor family are pretty annoying! Maybe Rhys?

SpanishFly Tue 16-Apr-13 18:46:01

yeah, i reckoned Rhys, as he doesnt have a major storyline at the moment, although the "dad" storyline will obviously be developed at some point. Or is it also going to be a "he died never knowing the truth about his dad" story?
I'm gutted that Lassiters didnt blow up - i LOVE when they revamp the sets.
Also gutted that Paul's planning-permission incompetence had nothing to do with it.

Asheth Tue 16-Apr-13 19:04:30

Both Rhys and Priya have unresolved story lines.
Rhys - his dad just getting back in touch with him. Did they really build it up for nothing?
Priya - Her story with school board. getting to vindicate herself and dump the sleazy member in it.

qazxc Tue 16-Apr-13 19:45:17

my guess is rhys and priya dying. won't be sorry to see the back of her.

electricgoldslide Tue 16-Apr-13 19:46:49

Can I jump in and ask you experts if Neighbours is ok for my ten year old dd to watch? She's picking up n the beginnings of soap chat in school and where some of the kids watch eastender, I'm saying no to that and so she's asked if she case neighbours. I've not watched it in years so thought I'd ask here. Thaks!

qazxc Tue 16-Apr-13 19:59:26

i'd say it probably is ok. things don't get to violent or sexy IMO. maybe watch a couple of episodes yourself so that you can get a gauge of the show yourself.

Katz Tue 16-Apr-13 20:14:40

Electric my 2 DDs watch it they're 7 and 10 and love it!

Katz Tue 16-Apr-13 20:17:42

Seen today's, now do I watch tomorrow's at the 10pm special or wait until tomorrow.

It the same two episodes?

SpanishFly Tue 16-Apr-13 20:45:20

Yes it's deemed suitable for kids - my 8yo ds likes it too.
I'm not sure whether tonight's is just an early showing of the episode theyll show tomorrow. And im not wanting to read the epg summary of them in case there are spoilers

montage Tue 16-Apr-13 21:27:59

Wednesday's episode on Channel 5 is the same episode as the second part of the double bill on tonight (the first part of tonight's double bill is the wedding again).

Katz Tue 16-Apr-13 21:45:41

Ah thanks, may wait til tomorrow then.

I think that's a real cheat - the impression they gave was that this was a one-hour special of the aftermath, not half an hour of what we already saw. << grumbles >>

froginthepond Tue 16-Apr-13 22:29:42

Agree Sdt im a bit hmm about that too.

qazxc Tue 16-Apr-13 22:54:35

yes I've had to sit through that highly annoying novelty dance routine twice. it makes me feel stabby. has toadie really had 4 weddings?

qazxc Tue 16-Apr-13 22:56:23

coma improves priya greatly, they've managed to wash that blue eyeshadow off.

qazxc Tue 16-Apr-13 22:57:07

Rhys is on the ground and adele is playing, i'd say he's a goner.

GibberTheMonkey Tue 16-Apr-13 23:14:16

I do get the four weddings thing
(Unless its a play on the film)
There's Dee, Steph and now Sonia. Who else?

Shame Rhys is off, he makes me laugh.

GibberTheMonkey Tue 16-Apr-13 23:53:36

*dont

There is no way Karl would tell Susan confidential information about Priya before telling Ajay, and without his consent. That is completely unprofessional. And the breathing tube wasn't secured at all - it could have just fallen out.

I think Rhys is a goner too. But that does suggest that at least one of Sonya and Priya is going to make it - I hope it is Sonya.

KittyMcAllister Wed 17-Apr-13 08:57:49

Definitely think Rhys is for the chop now, after his dramatic collapse. Lol at improving Priya's appearance by removing her bright blue eyeshadow! Also I love how despite her & Sonya being critically ill there are no nurses with them! Thank God super doc Karl was on the scene.

SpanishFly Wed 17-Apr-13 11:37:07

Yeah and rhys's "tell her not to worry - I'm fine" comment was a nail in his coffin

montage Wed 17-Apr-13 13:42:34

Toadie had 2 weddings to Steph - the real one he decided against at the alter and the fake one they went thru with.

They really laid it on thick with the script for Rhys' walk of doom in the hospital carpark.

And I don't understand how Rhys could have stayed in the hospital anyway as there are only 2 rooms surely and Priya and Sonia have them taken already? Where have they shipped baby Patrick off to?

It was quite gripping otherwise apart from Lou's new family whose scenes I now fast-forward

froginthepond Wed 17-Apr-13 13:47:49

I cant stand Lou's family and fast forward their scenes too montage. I know who dies as it says on my sky planner for the episodes info, obviously im not telling though grin

TwllBach Wed 17-Apr-13 16:19:06

I'm watching last nights episode and Rani makes me feel very, very stabby. Shut the actual fuck up about your dress, child! All the Kapoors could do with being in an unfortunate accident.

Why, if there had been a major incident, which I'm assuming an explosion is, is Carl in surgery with Priya? He's not a surgeon so I'm assuming he was just standing there twiddling his thumbs?

TwllBach Wed 17-Apr-13 16:19:38

Oh bugger - that wasn't a spoiler in my post was it????

montage Wed 17-Apr-13 18:15:06

I don't think you're spoiling anything Twll, as todays episode was already on last night and has already been discussed. Confusing stuff.

I know too Frog, due to being 2 days ahead, it is annoying waiting to discuss it!

Katz Wed 17-Apr-13 18:19:27

I loved the way they have a heart monitor next to Sonya but all she has is a finger thingy which does pulse and oxygen stats. To get the lines on a machine you need multiple wires, I know because DH has been rigged up to these several times now.

Clawdy Wed 17-Apr-13 18:26:27

Are there definitely going to be two deaths then?

montage Wed 17-Apr-13 18:42:49

I shall PM you and answer just that question Clawdy

(altho if anyone wants further spoliers I am happy to provide more detailed PMs grin)

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 17-Apr-13 20:11:46

I love the mid stop text from Priya! And Rani laying it on thick about not answering the texts (but I am totally with her on the hideous 1950's 'Janet and John dress-her mum clearly hates her!)

But I am surprised no one seems to notice that this is the second fatal tradegy to happen on Toady's wedding day. That man has such bad wedding luck!!

Asheth Wed 17-Apr-13 22:37:15

I shall feel so sorry for Elaine if Rhys dies. Bad enough that she's suffering from (I think?) Motor Neurone disease. But to lose her only (again i think, he's an only) child, would be just too heartbreaking. Would Neighbours be that cruel?

Yes, I know it's not real grin

Katz Wed 17-Apr-13 22:53:32

He thing with the text is Priya has an iPhone it's not that easy to send a text whilst being blown up!

As an aside has anyone else noticed that neighbours is sponsored by apple, there are some serious product placements going on, all characters have MacBooks and iPhones.

I noticed that too, Katz. Tbh, I don't think much of their medical advisor full stop. On a couple of occasions they've had a character in 'Intensive Care', and you can clearly hear the ventilator going in the background, but they just have a simple oxygen mask on their faces - no endotracheal tube at all! I used to be a Theatre nurse, and stuff like that pisses me off no end.

Perhaps I should offer my services to the programme? I am sure I could cope, if they flew me out to consult once a week or so! grin

montage Thu 18-Apr-13 14:46:26

Well they need a new nurse as Aiden has disappeared - he obviously had to leave the hospital the moment Chris broke up with him. It will take the burden off Dr Karl now that the only other doctor in Melbourne is dead. Do you know much about "Ramsay Street Amnesia" though?

I still suspect Dee sucumbed to it and will reappear some day soon.

Katz Thu 18-Apr-13 15:47:49

SDT - can I be your assistant advisor?

Of course, Katz. I suspect it will need both of us to get their medical story lines straightened out!

KittyMcAllister Thu 18-Apr-13 17:19:56

So Rhys & Priya gone, and Sonya suffering from good old Ramsey St amnesia! Is this the end for the maddeningly annoying Kapoor family? And why bring Rhys's dad back into it now?

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 18-Apr-13 17:56:45

Maybe Rhys' dad will get back together with his mum as some sort of plot compensation for losing Rhys!

Ohhhh I had a horrible suspicion that Sonya was going to be the latest Ramsey Street amnesiac.

Do you think they will re-stage the wedding in an attempt to jog her memory?

TwllBach Thu 18-Apr-13 18:54:53

Am I the only one that feels a bit cheated by Rhys' death? Not nearly dramatic enough.

montage Thu 18-Apr-13 19:39:36

The only bad thing about killing off Priya is that we will now have to endure many many scenes of Ajay and Rani.

He will probably immediately metamorphose into a helpless single dad who suddenly knows nothing about parenting and then either his mother will turn up (more Kapoors) or off he'll go and Rani will move in with Susan and Karl.

I will miss Rhys, he was a more realistic actor/character than most of them.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 18-Apr-13 19:42:26

And in the near future he will develop a thing for Kate (they all do in the end!), who will be ever so helpful, what with her amazing experience as a teacher, who will also now become principle as there is a vacancy in the one-teacher school...

ShipwreckedAndComatose Thu 18-Apr-13 19:44:00

Yeah...and Rhys' death was pants. He sort of just fell over mid plot. Did he fall out with the script writers or something? (Remembers that episode in friends where Joey gets suddenly written out!)

SpanishFly Thu 18-Apr-13 20:03:56

Rhys' s death was odd - you're right, not dramatic enough. And not drawn out enough. They've made extremely benign stories last for months in the past!
See ya, Priya.

montage Thu 18-Apr-13 20:04:29

I think he was knocked over by the sheer weight of the subtext in the lines in that scene.

Karl repeatedly says he shouldn't leave, Kyle keeps asking if he's ok, Rhys announces he is going to visit his ill and disabled mother that night and is now planning to reconcile with his father. His actual last words were that life is too short hmm.

Why they didn't just have him shout "I am about to die!" I don't know.

montage Thu 18-Apr-13 20:08:05

I think it's accepted on aussie soaps that due to budgetary considerations, they have to boot some actors as soon as they get new ones.

So Lou's overgrown teenage grandchildren arrive and Priya and Rhys get the sack.

There are 3 more of the regular cast due to leave shortly too.

couch25cakes Thu 18-Apr-13 20:45:49

Thanks all for the advice on kids suitability (electric here with new name). DD and I have watched a couple and she's really enjoying it. I'm trying not to get sucked in!

SpanishFly Thu 18-Apr-13 21:30:48

Couch/electric, I started watching again 8+ yrs ago when I was on maternity leave. Ive watched every episode since (except 2, when our Sky box broke!) You must be drawn in - you wont be disappointed!

KittyMcAllister Thu 18-Apr-13 22:46:12

YY to Rani moving with Karl & Susan. About time they had another waif & stray. I actually thought more people were going to die in the fire [evil mind]. It seemed a lot of build-up just for 2 characters to go. It would be good for Elaine (Rhys's mum) to have her own story lines, characters/ actors who use a wheelchair are actually pretty rare in soaps I think.

montage Fri 19-Apr-13 19:17:14

I think they are going to use the aftermath to get rid of more characters with the storylines that are developing atm.

They've had a few actors in wheelchairs who suddenly recovered so it would be good to have a more realistic scenario.

Katz Mon 22-Apr-13 16:58:14

When are they going to up date the title sequence?

montage Mon 22-Apr-13 19:47:22

I reckon when the next 3 characters are gone. I busy myself during the titles predicting who will be together.

SpanishFly Tue 23-Apr-13 07:49:43

I still don't get why rhys and priya both got erased without much mention. I really didn't want to see funerals particularly but Kyle and Vanessa are the only ones upset in any way about him. And the kapoors are the only ones upset about priya. Oh and paul. I just feel that if you lived in a cul de sac of approx 6 houses (numbered 22-32, bizarrely! ) then you'd all be devastated that two residents died at a young age in a fire at a wedding!

GibberTheMonkey Tue 23-Apr-13 08:07:12

I was surprised by how not upset Kate was about Priya. She was practically her side kick!

TwllBach Tue 23-Apr-13 08:12:56

YY to there being a lot or build up for what feels like a huge anti climax. I don't mind it being low budget, I don't expect big fancy things, but I was quite looking forward to a good cry over seeing them all in black and Vanessa giving Rhys' eulogy, with a stoic but emotional Lucas looking on, and rani standing in the pink dress at her mums graveside, Callum approaching from behind and putting a hesitant hand on her shoulder. Ajay would be under a tree further away, lips trembling, eyes a bit screwed up in an attempt to force some actory tears, hoping Callum can comfort his daughter where he can't.

Paul would, of course, be pictured at home, alone, red faced and angry. Sontag and toadie would break down separately, one to Carl and one to Susan, about how terribly guilty they feel. Especially sonya, as there was all that effort and all that death for an event that she can't remember.

<carried away... Reins it in>

TwllBach Tue 23-Apr-13 08:15:07

Kate's not upset. She's secretly planning Susan's demise, as she is now the only obstacle in Kate's quest to be head teacher before she's even qualified as a teacher.

Katz Tue 23-Apr-13 08:17:06

Got to love a soap death. I thought they got round the funeral bit ok. Sonya being in an coma for 5 days and missing them both. Meant no need to cast parents for Priya and AJ. But agree no one seems to be upset apart from their immediate family. Plus can't believe the school would apt a me head just like that. Most schools have more than 2 teachers so someone internal would 'act up' and then the job go to advert.

Hands up who things TwllBach should take over writing the Neighbours scripts!

<< puts hand up >>

montage Tue 23-Apr-13 13:54:28

"Kate's not upset. She's secretly planning Susan's demise, as she is now the only obstacle in Kate's quest to be head teacher before she's even qualified as a teacher."

So true. Either that or she can't act and it can't be that wink

SpanishFly Tue 23-Apr-13 14:10:34

Anyone watching today's? Paul has new teeth!

montage Tue 23-Apr-13 14:16:31

grin Some of them looking rather more tanned too.

The wedding was the end-of-year finale in Australia before they took their few weeks holiday for Christmas.

I reckon from the looks of them that they shot the aftermath scenes before they broke up and now we are post-break.

SpanishFly Tue 23-Apr-13 15:03:48

yeah, theyre all so upset about whats happened that they needed new teeth and tans. Aw, bless them.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 23-Apr-13 18:24:36

Kate's acting range is so limited, its quite hard to tell if she is 'doing' sad!

TwllBach Tue 23-Apr-13 18:55:27

Whhhhhhhhy is she hugging a pupil, aloooone with a pupil in their house?????

<shoots self>

montage Tue 23-Apr-13 19:40:30

See that's what I suspect now Shipwrecked - the script may well be saying ("Kate-looks devestated") but we would never know.

It's an improvement from when she snogged a pupil Twll, in Kate's terms this is actually progress.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 23-Apr-13 20:05:52

And it's sooo bloody predictable that the used pregnancy test will be found and alsorts of conclusions will be drawn! Yawn!

montage Wed 24-Apr-13 10:58:20

I really can't watch any scenes with Bailey anymore. They write incredibly badly for him. I know they are trying to go for "precocious, mature child" but it's so so dire.

Katz Wed 24-Apr-13 13:15:30

True about bailey they should be having him interact with Callum and rani more they're the same age. In fact I think they should do a shock teen storyline where Rani and Bailey get to together and Rani ends up pregnant. AJ would explode! I thought they might have gone there with Rani and Kyles very annoying cousin but they didn't. I like the idea if a smart kids pregnancy storyline.

ScienceRocks Wed 24-Apr-13 15:54:47

They had the "smart kids get pregnant" storyline quite recently with Bridget and Declan...

Katz Wed 24-Apr-13 16:31:04

Of course forgot about that and I guess going back further with Sky and even further with Phoebe.

qazxc Fri 26-Apr-13 10:47:15

please please please let us get rid of sophie, she does my nut. Is it to much to hope that kate go with her?

I don't think Kate will go - I think she's got more storylines coming up - unfortunately.

Oh - and would Paul, a very wily and savvy businessman, really sign a form without reading any of it at all? I don't think so.

alemci Fri 26-Apr-13 16:08:16

also I am sure Lauren is too young too have all those kids. She seemed to be a teen herself in the 90's and now she looks about 45. She was last seen riding on a horse.

SpanishFly Fri 26-Apr-13 17:14:30

alemci that's my feeling too. She was 18 at the most? when she left on the horse. That'd make her 37 now.
HANG ON if she was 18 when she left, she must have conceived IMMEDIATELY to have an 18yo son.

PS the actress is 39 in real life. She looks much older, thats what sun does to you

montage Fri 26-Apr-13 21:24:30

That was a horrid false dawn of hope when Kate said she supposed she could get a transfer to go with Sophie. I understand Sophie's reasons for refusing her but I feel she should have made the sacrifice for the common good.

There was room for one more in that cab.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 26-Apr-13 21:35:51

So true!... Why would she not join her brother and sister??

So unfair to leave her with us!

Mind you, if she did, teaching at the school would be left to Susan and Lucas as the only people on the planet, apparently, who can teach those kids.

Katz Fri 26-Apr-13 21:36:35

Lauren left in 1994 so 19 years ago, I think she'd have been about 22 ish given that the similarly aged characters were getting married and she hadn't just left school. Lauren the original had soe good storyline lines like joining a cult and having an affair and getting an STD which made her think she was pregnant. Then she left for Queensland.

montage Fri 26-Apr-13 21:54:28

Wiki calls it "retroactive continuity" when they do this. grin

Like Andrew coming back younger then he should have been and the triplets coming back older.

(and Karl sleeping with Sarah and Sonya being Callum's birth mother. I call it "plotholes" myself)

ShipwreckedAndComatose Fri 26-Apr-13 22:02:53

Like Andrew saying he had been doing what his dad wanted all his life on leaving today......when he had, in fact, been 'long lost' for a goodly while before joining the cast!

SpanishFly Fri 26-Apr-13 22:05:02

katz the point is the same - Lauren may be old enough to have an 18yo but if she left 19 yrs ago then she must have conceived immediately after leaving for an 18yr old child to be possible! grin

montage Fri 26-Apr-13 22:15:05

Since Brad Willis left just a bit before Lauren did, perhaps they'll do a paternity storyline for Mason when Brad comes back this year?

Paul doesn't have any more unaccounted for children who'll turn up next week does he?

montage Fri 26-Apr-13 22:17:16

Yes Paul tried an "all your life you've been arguing back to me" type line with Andrew recently, Shipwrecked, and I thought that was a bit much, Andrew was like a year old when he left!

alemci Sat 27-Apr-13 00:00:30

also wasn't he darked haired and Italian looking as a child. wasn't he Chrissie Alessi's child. definitely wasn't blonde and blue eyed with a Scottish/Aussie accent.

Katz Sat 27-Apr-13 07:37:37

Oo montage now that would be a good storyline!

Katz Sat 27-Apr-13 07:39:07

Montage - as Paul has an air steward for a while I'm sure you could 'create' several children! Although they would have to be 30ish now

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sat 27-Apr-13 07:52:59

Apparently they made up a storyline about her moving to Scotland for a while, to try to explain away the actors 'Scottish' accent!

Asheth Sat 27-Apr-13 08:42:01

Paul does have another daughter - Amy. Not sure how old she would be, but older than the triplets so maybe in her thirties. I think she was the result of a one night stand.

I didn't mind Andrew's looks, as he looks a bit like Scott (Paul's brother) so it's not out of the question that he would look like that.

qazxc Sun 28-Apr-13 09:34:01

why did all three of them pile in the back seat? instead of one sitting in the passenger seat and 2 in the back?

SpanishFly Sun 28-Apr-13 17:17:43

I've just watched it - sophie got in the front and the other two got in the back

SpanishFly Sun 28-Apr-13 18:58:22

Re Vanessa appearing in the lads mag - this storyline was done before, although I can't think who it was, atm

Katz Sun 28-Apr-13 19:44:25

It's was Lucas's last girlfriend the sister to michaels wife, Tasha's aunt. Can't remember her name,

SpanishFly Sun 28-Apr-13 20:36:31

Emilia! That was it. So lucas clearly has a type, then!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sun 28-Apr-13 21:04:44

Lucas's type seems to be every woman who walks into the square!

I was pleased he finally seems to have 'got the girl' cos he has had shocking bad luck..

Libby, Paul Robinson's spoilt brat daughter, Emilia...

montage Sun 28-Apr-13 21:23:49

And Steph...

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sun 28-Apr-13 21:25:14

Ooh! Forgot Steph!!

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sun 28-Apr-13 21:42:15

For square, I of course mean street!

not confusing my piss poor soaps on no

montage Mon 29-Apr-13 17:08:33

Soon you will have no chance of forgetting Steph.

It is obviously not going to be possible for Lucas and Vanessa to have a relationship without a love triangle. Rhys is gone so now we need an ex-lover of Lucas's to complete the drama.

And them with a now-invisible baby to look after too...

qazxc Tue 30-Apr-13 13:53:00

Eeeek spooky dead Priya, just silent and staring (but at least no blue eyeshadow)

SpanishFly Tue 30-Apr-13 14:17:47

i think the eyeshadow was there, but it was too dark to see it. I'm sure we'll see her again soon to double check. smile

qazxc Tue 30-Apr-13 15:49:59

I thought that dead/more stylish Priya had switched to brown eyeshadow in the afterlife but am willing to be proved wrong. at least she wasn't doing her wide eyed/ making her look like a frog "earnest" expression.

SpanishFly Tue 30-Apr-13 16:21:24

watched today's on my lunchbreak. Definitely blue today! grin

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 30-Apr-13 17:54:42

Do you think she will become more and more rotten zombie like as the episode goes by (I'm thinking like in American Werewolf in London style).
now that would be interesting!

<hopeful>

decaffwithcream Tue 30-Apr-13 18:07:28

I'm a couple of episodes ahead and she continues to appear in the same dress, the blue eyeshadow (lavishly available in the afterlife, who knew?) and the exact same facial expression every time.

I think qazxc is right, we can all be grateful that it's not the "earnest" expression though.

Personally I would have preferred Rhys as a ghost, sitting in Kyle's kitchen, tossing out sardonic remarks at all comers and refusing to leave.

ShipwreckedAndComatose Tue 30-Apr-13 18:14:04

Yes! He really would make an excellent grumpy, caustic comments about the stupid behaviour of the other characters. It's what the show needs!!

qazxc Tue 30-Apr-13 19:30:24

www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7Hi96DcTAU

I think somebody's had a word (or Priya has been catching up on her mumsnet).
Looks brown to me @ 1.12.

qazxc Tue 30-Apr-13 19:33:30

Rhys would have made a brilliant ghost. As well as hanging out in kyle's kitchen he could have wooed vanessa away from Lucas.

decaffwithcream Tue 30-Apr-13 20:56:17

It could have added a whole extra dimmension to neighbours (literally). Wasted opportunity...

qazxc Wed 01-May-13 16:53:14

He would have been like one of the old blokes from the muppets/ patrick swayze in ghost (although needing dough or something food related instead of pottery). Then she would have found out that he started and gave a load of money to Patrick's fund and realise she loves him not Lucas. not that i have to much time on my hands to ponder such things or anything

qazxc Wed 01-May-13 18:58:00

spooky priya is now entirely blue (kind of a smurf light effect going on).

alemci Wed 01-May-13 19:03:54

can't wait to watch it on catch up. Bailey looks like he should be an American 80's teenager in the Goonies. can't work out whose house is whose as all the sets seem to have changed.

decaffwithcream Thu 02-May-13 22:50:07

Bailey is the character who annoys me the most since Pepper left. His oh-so-profound-and=wise pronouncements are profoundly irritating.

alemci Fri 03-May-13 11:26:12

also does Maison own any other clothing apart from that brown vest.

decaffwithcream Fri 03-May-13 19:58:02

part of mason's contract is that he has to keep as much as possible of his upper torso exposed at all times.

They did it again today - baby Patrick came back from theatre, and you could hear the ECG monitor blipping along merrily in the background - but were there any wires attached to Patrick? Of course not!

qazxc Sat 04-May-13 10:06:39

Don't do it Mason! Don't sleep with Kate! All men that sleep with Kate die! (well that policeman bloke and now rhys, there are other reasons you shouldn't)

TwllBach Sat 04-May-13 12:56:27

WHY IS SHE SLEEPING WITH TEENAGERS??

AGAIN??

<head explodes>

Because she has the common sense of a goldfish?*

*^Disclaimer: There are many intelligent goldfish, and this is not intended as a slur on them.

Bah - italicisation fail.

qazxc Sat 04-May-13 16:14:27

Well at least i suppose that teenager is at least an adult (he is over 18 right?) and not her pupil and not her little sister's crush.

I thought that when Karl had to speak to Lucas it was going to turn up that he couldn't be Patrick's biological father. What's wrong with him?

Ajay, instead of concentrating on screwing Paul Robinson, concentrate on your child who is clearly going off the deep end!

SpanishFly Sat 04-May-13 16:38:04

re Kate/Mason, I can't remember if I saw yesterday's or not - are you referring to the teaser where Mason is lying in bed, and someone clambers in beside him? Aren't we meant to think/presume it is Kate, but it turns out to be someone else?

decaffwithcream Sat 04-May-13 21:44:57

If I was Rani, having Susan Kennedy constantly at me, at home, at school and wanting to bring me to school with her would send me over the edge. Eavesdropping on Rani and Callum seemed a bit much too.

alemci Sat 04-May-13 21:54:17

Susan is so annoying. Not long ago she was working on Paul's paper. They seem to walk in and out of jobs on Neighbours.

AlfieandAnnieRose Tue 07-May-13 09:41:22

Don't know if its been mentioned but has anyone seen the advert on channel 5 showing that Steph is coming back this week! She had been in prison.
It will be interesting to see how things pick up with Lucas and Toadie from when she left and now that Lucas is with someone else.

froginthepond Tue 07-May-13 16:41:22

I have not been watching much the last week, have just been deleting episodes without watching. I cant stand Lauren and her brood, i cant stand Susan and Karl being back together and the constant crap story lines and the acting is getting worse. I have lost count on the amount of job titles Karl and Georgia must have in that bloody 2 roomed hospital. hmm And while im at it ffs Susan back as head its like they are stuck in the 80's. Sarah being back looking exactly the same as she did years ago with the same hair and like she does not own any other clothes in her life was a struggle to watch too. Im looking forward to Steph reappearing no doubt with the same makeup, hair and clothes on as she had the last time we saw her. I loved Rhys and Tash gutted they are gone sad

scarlet5tyger Tue 07-May-13 20:56:33

I've seen Steph back in it. Never mind same make up, hair or clothes - she hasn't even got the same face!!

I've seen Steph in the trailers, and I am sure it is the same actress.

Katz Tue 07-May-13 21:32:55

its the same actress, she's just changed her hair colour. If you look on youtube there are videos of her conversations with her prison counsellor which are quiet good.

qazxc Tue 07-May-13 21:50:56

Trailers seem to suggest she is out for revenge. Revenge from what? Driving whilst pissed and killing someone and getting sent down for 3 years? Wasn't that a rather lenient sentence?

TwllBach Tue 07-May-13 21:53:51

I had forgotten aaaaall about steph. What did she even do to get sent down?

scarlet5tyger Tue 07-May-13 22:00:21

Yes it's the same actress but with more plastic in her face than a Tesco carrier bag.

Willabywallaby Tue 07-May-13 22:03:59

She ran a girl over, can't remember her name! Blonde airhead character that was into fashion. Happened in front of boyfriend. Stef was riding off after an argument with Libby over handing her baby over to it's father.

Trailers hyping it up! She looks like she's has facial work, looks puffy. Darker hair, sinister look, love it grin.

I too thought Lucas was going to be told he wasn't Patrick's father.

Willabywallaby Tue 07-May-13 22:04:32

X posted

SpanishFly Tue 07-May-13 22:27:21

Wasn't it Ringo she killed?

Katz Tue 07-May-13 22:38:25

She killed ringo who'd recently married Donna.

decaffwithcream Tue 07-May-13 22:46:32

And it was Kate she was about to hit, Kate having ambled straight out into the road, and Ringo jumped out and saved her, getting killed in the process. Lots of scenes of Kate "feeling guilty" and as if it was her fault. It bloody was!

Lauren's family must be causing ratings to drop, the acting is painful even by Neighbours standards (possibly apart from Mason) The husband is dire, he only has one tone of voice and facial expression.

AnneEyhtMeyer Tue 07-May-13 22:55:13

Lauren's family are all the "wrong" ages, it is bizarre. Lauren looks a decade older than she should be, as does her daughter. Her son looks about 5 years older than he should be, but is acting the part of someone the age he looks rather than the age he should be.

Clearly Australian prisons offer botox. Steph now looks even more expression-free than she did before.

Is Libby ever coming back? Surely without Libby there is no point in Steph? They just used to swap boyfriends.

TwllBach Tue 07-May-13 23:10:27

YY I don't get Mason and the older woman thing? Unless its an actual plot thing and at some point he will go to therapy to cure it?

Willabywallaby Wed 08-May-13 06:54:36

Thanks for clarifying motorbike crash, it's all coming back to me...

As far as i can remember Steph and Libby were in a hotel room arguing. Steph had had a couple of drinks and got on her bike. Libby tried to stop her but she sped off.
A group inc Kate and Ringo, where crossing road. Ringo saw, the motorbike was going to hit Kate and jumped to push her out of the way and got killed.
Kate was then a witness, and as i recall Toadie was applying quite a bit of pressure for her to alter her statement. I thought it a bit hmm at the time, a solicitor asking for a witness to commit perjury. But he was basically saying, she's messed up other the baby thing, if you don't lie she'll go to jail too poor Steph.
Eventually she got 3 years, got moved to a more open prison, so Lynn and Charlie moved to be nearer her. I also thought strange that considering his XP was getting sent down, Charlie's dad never showed up (or called). As far as i know he isn't dead, just travelling to find himself or something.

Katz Wed 08-May-13 11:45:28

If you watch the YouTube extras videos it tells you where Charlie now is and what steph feels about everything

Clawdy Wed 08-May-13 13:37:34

Will Charlie disappear just like Oscar did?? Remember Lynne coming back to the Street and starting a new life with barely a mention of her son? It got ridiculous.

AnneEyhtMeyer Wed 08-May-13 17:10:53

So will Lynn move back to Erinsborough to be near Steph again then? She still owns Harold's Shop after all.

Willabywallaby Wed 08-May-13 17:58:15

Love the predicting storylines!

decaffwithcream Wed 08-May-13 19:15:13

That was the insane court case where the ex-wife of Steph's baby's father popped over from New Zealand especially to prosecute the case? That was a fun one.

Steph is only back for two months so I doubt any family members will turn up - except her real life 21 year-old son who is joining the cast as Brad Willis's son. Unfortunately he will also be playing a teenager so that will be another overgrown teenager to keep Lou's family company.

Doubtlessly he will also have a thing for the irresistible Kate but I assume his function is to land up with Lauren.

AnneEyhtMeyer Wed 08-May-13 19:34:00

Brad Willis has a 21 year old son? shock Or will he be a 21 year old playing a 12 year old?

Seriously, surely he hasn't been gone long enough to have a 21 year old son? Or have I blanked out a childhood parenting story?

decaffwithcream Wed 08-May-13 19:56:51

The actor is 21, playing a teenager. In true neighbours current style.

I was surprised that the Steph actress had a 21 year old son tbh but turns out she is 39.

Katz Wed 08-May-13 21:17:31

I think brad left around the same time as Lauren, so 1993, he eloped to marry Beth and since his new wife isn't called Beth this one must be his second wife. Beth and brad had a baby, offscreen called Ted or Ned or something, say it was born a year after they left in 1994 meaning oldest son would be 18/19 but he would be Beth's not new wife's. I don't remember Pam and Doug mentioning brad and Beth spilting up whilst they were still around Nd they left late 1994. Possible I guess for him to have remarried but it would have been quick!

AnneEyhtMeyer Wed 08-May-13 21:33:13

Wow, I really can't believe he left so long ago! I would have guessed ten years ago, not 20!

I thought Steph was older than 39 to be fair. She definitely looks it in the trailers for her return.

Willabywallaby Wed 08-May-13 21:42:54

I'm amazed you remember all of this from 20 years ago.

Katz Wed 08-May-13 21:48:01

Brad, Beth et al were my teen years, I double checked the dates but knew approx as I thought it was around the time I was doing my gcses, which was 1994.

decaffwithcream Wed 08-May-13 22:12:46

He's bringing a new wife (Sophie from Home and Away) and I think the children are meant to be theirs. So they will probably be messing with the dates and ages of the children, like they did with Paul's returning children, to make it sort of work.

I don't know we are meant to be nostalgic for the reunion of Lauren and Brad but it's a bit hard when they are both completely different people!

alemci Wed 08-May-13 22:26:56

also I think Lauren is not old enough to have Mason as a son. Is he meant to be about 21. She was only a teenager in 1993.

Brad always looked like a male Barbie doll and seemed a bit dim. I remember Adam there older son in it briefly who was a bit brighter.

decaffwithcream Wed 08-May-13 22:29:50

Mason is supposed to be 18 (I don't believe it either).

ChangeNameToday Thu 09-May-13 01:26:30

Christ, that Rhiannon's rough! Needs a good bath if you ask me.

I'm loving Sheila, think she's a great addition to the cast.

ChangeNameToday Thu 09-May-13 02:22:36

You've got me remembering Ringo's death. It was so sad! Remember Donna opening all the presents he'd set out for her? Think it was for an anniversary, was it a month?

I hated Steph even more after that. Was there ever a more ridiculous story-line than the fake marriage to Toadie? Why, oh why, did they do that? Lied to everyone, their own families - for what? And everyone forgave them!

alemci Thu 09-May-13 08:41:58

No Mason looks alot older. Rhiannon looks like she has rolled up from a 1980's American movie - Trailer trash look.

also who lives in the house which was the Scullys/Robinsons - is it Ajay or Sheila/Kyle.

and who lives in Tash/Michael's house and where did Michael and Emilia go?

Asheth Thu 09-May-13 09:06:20

The Scullys/Robinsons house is Sheila, Kyle and Chris

Tash/Michael house was bought by Troy. Now I think it's the hosue Lucas owns, but is lived in by Lauren and family!

AnneEyhtMeyer Thu 09-May-13 09:12:40

Every time I see Kyle's house and that weird raised platform bit in the corner I remember Helen Daniels sitting at her desk, running her Home James chauffeur business.

alemci Thu 09-May-13 10:13:16

I thought Lauren's lot lived in the house that Madge and Harrold etc used to live in which was Lou's. Who lives there now?

I remember Jim falling down dead in Kyle's house.

I always remember Paul's house as it has an upstairs.

SpanishFly Thu 09-May-13 10:56:46

Madge and Harold s house is now ajay's

decaffwithcream Thu 09-May-13 11:11:37

Emilia decided to go back in her parents in Croatia I think, after all the trouble with tash finding out about her and Michael and her mother's death. Michael did a last-minute dash to go with her. Tash has now decided to drop in on them while in Paris.

I am confused about who Steph is coming to see - Lucas and Toadie I guess. And check her mother's business is still there.

I didn't realise Ajay and Rani were in Harold's old house. It's the shame the ghost of Madge can't see off the ghost of Priya.

alemci Thu 09-May-13 11:22:47

is Madge dead? I thought she had just been written out years' ago and gone to be in Emmerdale etc.

oh of course she died of cancer didn't she. its just come back.

SpanishFly Thu 09-May-13 14:57:30

That was one of the saddest storylines ever sad

KittyMcAllister Thu 09-May-13 17:21:43

This influx of new & fairly rubbish characters is making me miss Tash & Andrew, which I wouldn't have thought possible! Feels like the show is in flux a bit at the moment and has lost its rhythm. I had to laugh when Kate was saying to Georgia the other day how they were both gorgeous girls who could get any man they wanted...! On what planet?! (Disclaimer: Georgia is quite pretty but Kate must emit pheromones or have some other invisible power over men.)

decaffwithcream Thu 09-May-13 19:39:42

It is in flux - wait till next week, when the characters in the opening credits get rearranged, the theme tune gets an utter mauling and The Return Of Steph. Unfortunately it looks like we are getting "Amber and Bailey in school" etc storylines too

AnneEyhtMeyer Thu 09-May-13 21:36:04

Mason's hair seems to have flown in from the 80s.

decaffwithcream Thu 09-May-13 22:45:59

I thought he was aiming for the "Grease" look myself. Especially when he finally put a jacket on. Wouldn't it be great if Bailey did turn himself in and get sent to "juvey" - especially if the whole family felt the need to move back to be near him. Mason can stay, it's the rest of them...

alemci Fri 10-May-13 14:59:27

I hate the way they abbreviate everything to a shortened version. Talk properly can't you - juvey indeed smile

Mason's hair is pretty awful. Perhaps they will do a turn of Greased lighting and Kate could be Sandy (not).

decaffwithcream Fri 10-May-13 15:27:52

I thought it was a tv thing, growing up but then discovered real life aussies do it too (see what i did there wink).

It is quite good they seem to be planning to cover testicular cancer with Lucas, assuming that's where that is going. I'm sure Karl is the oncologist too....

Willabywallaby Fri 10-May-13 17:32:26

I blame neighbours for everyone calling it 'uni', it's university!

SpanishFly Fri 10-May-13 18:10:56

Another Neighbours rewrite... Remember when Susan lived in the flat, and someone (Vanessa?) moved in for a few days, but had to sleep on the settee because someone else was using the "spare room"? But now, suddenly, it's a one-bedroomed flat hmm

KittyMcAllister Fri 10-May-13 19:07:55

YY Susan's sister Carmel stayed there! Must've shrunk since then. Why don't they just live in their own house instead of rent it out to people they hardly know?! Who does that?

CecyHall Fri 10-May-13 19:14:59

Ghost Priya is really creeping me out.

GibberTheMonkey Fri 10-May-13 20:14:39

Think that's priyas contract up finally yay

GibberTheMonkey Fri 10-May-13 20:24:01

Is priya only the second ever neighbours ghost?

alemci Fri 10-May-13 20:51:53

who was the first?

Priya is really freaky.

Also that flat seems to be the only one in existence. so many have lived there and I thought it had more than one bedroom. wait til they've got all the baby stuff in there.

mind you in soaps most places are like a tardis and there is never ever any clutter or mess.

GibberTheMonkey Fri 10-May-13 21:04:01

Todd appeared to phoebe

AnneEyhtMeyer Fri 10-May-13 22:10:35

Didn't Drew appear as a ghost? Or was he just in a dream?

decaffwithcream Sat 11-May-13 12:47:14

Yes, Priya stayed with Susan when her affair was discovered and Carmel moved to Karl's as she had given up the spare room to Priya. We even saw the room. Have Lucas and Vanessa failed to open one of the doors. Will they continue to live there, failing to notice an extra door?

Ghost Todd was great, he appeared in a full -length mirror IIRC.

I am personally hoping that Ajay and Rani go off to start a new life when the Willis family come. There isn't a vacant house for the Willises to have otherwise is there?

GibberTheMonkey Sat 11-May-13 13:29:09

I have a scary feeling Kate's going to jump Ajay

AnneEyhtMeyer Sat 11-May-13 14:01:27

I did think that yesterday Gibber. She looked like she was going to pounce.

TwllBach Sat 11-May-13 15:05:06

I thought the same, about Kate. Good lord she is horrendous.

Can I just put forward that I think Bossy is a bloody great little actress? Maybe the best on the set. I really do think they should give her more screen time and less to Kate

I hate Kate

And are we really supposed to believe that Rhiannon loves Mason so much that she abandoned her child in Mount Isa for him, even though he clearly hadn't been in contact with her for months?

Asheth Sat 11-May-13 15:41:23

Kate likes widowers! She was with Declan after Bridget died. And yes I thought she was getting a bit close to Ajay as well!

TwllBach Sat 11-May-13 15:46:30

She is one of those that likes the drama of being the only person someone needs after a tragedy.

In fact, maybe she is just a drama lover. She is pretty much over Kyle now that Jade isn't in the picture anymore, isn't she?

Asheth Sat 11-May-13 15:48:58

I thought they were setting her up for Mason. Her other type is teenagers! I suppose Declan was her ideal man being both a widower and a teenager!

AnneEyhtMeyer Sat 11-May-13 17:20:37

Yes, and teenage widowers are few and far between, so Ajay's youthful looks are probably quite a draw.

decaffwithcream Sat 11-May-13 18:43:08

When is Mark Brennan returning to take up her attentions again?

SpanishFly Sat 11-May-13 19:00:41

Presumably as soon as she hooks up with someone else grin

dopeysheep Sat 11-May-13 19:35:41

I think Rhiannon needs to.maim Kate with her magnificent gnashers.

And Mason's hair needs a storyline of its own. Perhaps getting shaved off in support of Lucas's cancer fight and then heading out in search of love. And setting up home on Paul's false leg.

decaffwithcream Sat 11-May-13 20:36:08

This is true SpanishFly, she needs to get established with Mason and viola, Brennan will appear, wandering immediately past wherever she and Mason are openly snogging.

I think Lucas and Vanessa will be staying off-street, (in the flat with the mysteriously disappearing bedroom), as in the new arrangement of the opening titles, everyone else is clustered outside their houses, street party style except for them.

They appear walking up the middle of the road, Vanessa has the buggy handle in one hand and is balancing a plate of cupcakes in the other grin

SpanishFly Sat 11-May-13 22:42:06

Awww damnit, I forgot how bloody obsessed Vanessa is with cooking. Every. Single. Sentence. Includes a reference to cooking.

Asheth Sat 11-May-13 23:50:50

But will cupcakes cure testicular cancer? Probably not next week, but the week after, along with Karl's new oncology skills Lucas will be cured!

AnneEyhtMeyer Sun 12-May-13 06:38:55

Karl already has oncology skills - don't forget his treatment of Jim Dolan.

Although Jim was not saved by Dr Karl's healing hands, I don't think Lucas should be worried. Karl wanted Jim out of the way, so obviously didn't bother to make too much effort with him.

Katz Sun 12-May-13 08:31:27

And Steph sure he diagnosed her cancer twice. Although she was treated by someone else.

decaffwithcream Sun 12-May-13 18:46:21

I wonder if Steph's cancer has been forgotten or if she will be empathising with Lucas and getting closer to him that way?

decaffwithcream Sun 12-May-13 18:55:21

That sounds a little nasty but I am assuming we are meant to see her as "evil Steph" after Lucas now. I suppose I should watch the web episodes of her in therapy to check.

AnneEyhtMeyer Sun 12-May-13 20:37:34

Where are the web episodes? I haven't seen them.

She's always been "Evil Steph" to me, she was always happy to do anything she wanted, even if it hurt her best friends and family.

SpanishFly Sun 12-May-13 20:51:47

Theyre on the channel 5 website. I haven't watched them yet tho

AnneEyhtMeyer Sun 12-May-13 21:23:43

Oh thanks, I'll take a look.

BeanoNoir Mon 13-May-13 14:13:44

Anyone watching the daytime episode?

SpanishFly Mon 13-May-13 16:40:55

I'm watching now

Willabywallaby Mon 13-May-13 16:48:15

I watched it, she looks so puffyshock

BeanoNoir Mon 13-May-13 17:14:13

It's a bit of a shock

SpanishFly Mon 13-May-13 17:29:13

It shows the difference between UK and Australian prisons - you'd never get botox in the UK

decaffwithcream Tue 14-May-13 14:43:39

I reckon Steph's need to appropriate other womens' boyfriends all stems from her wedding day to Marc when she realised he was having an affair with her sister.

<ignores fact that Steph originally fell for Drew when he was with Libby before that>

SpanishFly Wed 15-May-13 17:29:15

I love how steph mentioned today that the renovations were going great. Then the next scene was in Harolds, with no evidence of any renovations being done at all.

And I did laugh when she called it "renos"

TwllBach Wed 15-May-13 17:41:05

Did sonya know steph before?

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 15-May-13 17:58:13

I think Sonya was around when Steph was there.

I seemed to remember Toadie pretending to date Steph (can't remember why) but secretly with Sonya and she had to keep it hush hush. Toadie and Steph were in a sham relationship and Sonya was in on it.

Katz Wed 15-May-13 19:00:26

Sonya def knows Steph, at the whole fake wedding thing toady said he vows to Sonya not Steph.

decaffwithcream Wed 15-May-13 19:03:10

It was when Toadie and Steph were pretending to be together and even have a wedding so they could say Dan's baby was Toadie's when he was born. All to spare Libby's feelings since she hadn't been able to have a baby with Dan and now they had split up (Steph and Dan had a one night stand after he left Libby and she saw Libby kissing Lucas, despite Libby knowing Steph was in love with Lucas).

Steph let Sonya in on it so Toadie wouldn't lose Sonya.

My God, that insane plotline dragged on for months. Then Paul found out and recorded Steph and Dan talking on the phone about the baby and played it on the loudspeakers in Charlies when everyone was there. Now that was good TV. grin Paul was getting revenge on Toadie I think?

Katz Wed 15-May-13 19:09:18

It was the worst storyline ever!

KittyMcAllister Wed 15-May-13 19:48:17

Never mind the Botox that Steph's obviously had - what about the chipmunk cheeks?!! And I had forgotten all about that storyline with her & Toadie & the baby and her just giving it to Dan..,bizarre! Did I detect a frisson between her & Paul (say it isn't so?)

ShipwreckedAndComatose Wed 15-May-13 19:50:28

Ah yes!! That was it!

To hide the baby from Libby!

What happened to the baby??

GibberTheMonkey Wed 15-May-13 19:50:30

It was weird

Surely you say we had a one night stand, we didn't mean to end up wih a baby.
And if Libby complains point out quite was she had been doing

All that convoluted cover up was so not worth it

SpanishFly Wed 15-May-13 19:52:59

I was really looking forward to her coming back but I'm hating it now. It's all false and awkward and weird. And I don't like her darker hair.

She's not going to steal Patrick, is she?

TwllBach Wed 15-May-13 20:03:27

There was a definite baby stealing glint in her eye!
