There.

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 21:18:18

Phew! Feel like I can breathe again...and relax smile

Sparklingbrook Sun 09-Dec-12 21:18:50

Hello. Strictly Dancing. Got it. smile

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 21:19:47

As I was saying, Brendan seems to be the kiss of death. Nice to see Anton looking swell in the Buble dance instead of playing the clown as usual

OodKingWenceslas Sun 09-Dec-12 21:20:36

Ok I'm in.

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 21:21:21

Marking my spot.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 21:22:04

Agree that AdB could be the next presenter. Gets a bit over-excited but wit ha bit of restraining coaching he'll be fine.

Sparklingbrook Sun 09-Dec-12 21:22:13

I don't know who I want to win. sad I suppose Louis or Dani.

OodKingWenceslas Sun 09-Dec-12 21:22:36

Can't be anymore OTT than Bruce though

Yama Sun 09-Dec-12 21:24:17

Dani for me.

Minichristmas Sun 09-Dec-12 21:27:27

I would like Louis or Dani to win. Brucie to go. A d B would do a good job of presenting, but would he want it?

AnameIcouldnotthinkof Sun 09-Dec-12 21:27:54

I want Dani to win. Though I wouldn't mind if Louis got it.

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 21:29:19

I'm actually going to be ok with anyone winning at this stage, other than Lisa, unless she suddenly jumps up and gets to the same level of talent as the others currently have. I love her, but agree with everyone who says she's reaching her limits.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 21:29:43

my preference is for Louis, on the basis he is right out of his comfort zone on a few levels, and started from zero. Nimble as runner up.

ceebeegeebies Sun 09-Dec-12 21:31:59

Have put this on the other thread but will re-post it here smile

I have a theory about Emma Bunton grin She announced she was pregnant fairly soon after the show finished and I worked out she would have known she was pregnant by the time of the final therefore would not have wanted to do the showdance with all the big lifts. So, I think it was fixed so that she would be in the dance-off and the judges put her out so that it wasn't an issue and she didn't have to pull out and announce her pregnancy early.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 21:32:27

oh and Louis also because Flavia is due the Glitter Ball as well.

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 21:34:19

I'd be ok with Louis winning. What's interesting is that although Louis doesn't have the dance experience, his gymnastics has to be an advantage, more than other sports like cycling and cricket since he has to memorise routines and would be more familiar with paying attention to his posture and such.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 21:36:01

true.

Horsemad Sun 09-Dec-12 21:37:39

I'd like either Louis or Dani to win, but think it'll be Kimberley who does win smile

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Sun 09-Dec-12 21:38:03

Anton and Erin were lovely tonight, so elegant and poised.

I'm still backing Louis and Flavia, my DCs are desperate for Lisa to win (they're only little) but I really don't think she should go any further now.

Yama Sun 09-Dec-12 21:42:29

Yeah, I wouldn't mind Louis winning. Love Flavia.

Had no idea Erin was from New Zealand. She was on that CBBC show where they talk about what life was like when they were 12.

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 21:44:34

For me:
Semi final - Lisa v DVO in the dance off, Lisa to go. James will combust!
Final - DVO out first, Then Kimberley.
Vincent and Flavia to have an AT - off to the death, Louis to win.

OodKingWenceslas Sun 09-Dec-12 21:45:58

Like that red

MordionAgenos Sun 09-Dec-12 21:47:45

Vincent deserves to win. He should have won with Rachel - they were robbed. He's had a couple of years of comedy partners. He deserves to win this time.

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 21:48:23

I just want the best dancer to win, but as Louis is the underdog, and had no dance training or experience I want him to really wow me and then win. Most male celebs on SCD are out of their comfort zone, and also have to lead.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 21:48:34

There is the possibilities of injuries. Two dances, emotional strains, excess practice, tiredness, long hours Devo/James losing it with each other

Frankelstein Sun 09-Dec-12 21:48:52

Marking spot. Apologies for recent absence grin

WhatTheFookIsGangnamStyle Sun 09-Dec-12 21:53:13

I would love to see DVO leave the comp before Lisa. Great to DVO in the bottom two tonight! grin

Kimberley or Dani to win.

AnameIcouldnotthinkof Sun 09-Dec-12 21:54:40

I like REDs idea too.

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 22:00:09

Mordian - I want Flavia to win for the same reason. She had a near miss with Matt and a few duffers since. And she's lovely.
Although I don't mind if Dani or Kimberley win either.
Basically anyone except DVO and James.

Dotty342kids Sun 09-Dec-12 22:02:35

I can't help but wonder what impact being in the bottom two this week will have on DVO and James. I reckon he'll go all out for a crowd pleasing routine next week!
Is it me or have we had very few rumbas so far this series? Are they all being saved up for the semi / final?
Has anyone worked out who will be having to do which dances next week?

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 22:06:36

I think DVO and James know they've had it, they looked really shattered. When you're in the dance-off at this stage you know you haven't got the public support to go all the way and it doesn't matter how much you go on about how HARD you've worked if people just don't like you enough.

I want Louis and Flavia to win . I don't think Flavia has won before ? Or has she ? The fusion dance they did last night was so beautiful , I believe they were very under marked .
Kimberley ( just don't like her , think its her hair )
Pasha ( lovely )
DVO ... I have to say I quite like her and James (DH fancies Ola )
Dani and Vincent ... Hmmmm . He's a bit creepy
Robin and Lisa .. Very good fun to watch , but not winners sadly

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 22:10:35

None of the professionals in at this stage have ever won the glitter all.

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 22:11:02

Glitterball I mean of course!

Am I the only one who thinks that Lisa could actually win it, I think shes very popular. I would love Louis to win, but my little evil main wish is DVO out next (especially after James little outburst tonight) then Kimberley, I just cant take to her.

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 22:13:16

They haven't won the glitterball at all smile

Bakingnovice Sun 09-Dec-12 22:14:31

Oh please gOd no! No du berk to rePlace Bruce. Cannot stand du berk. His gurning. His face. His chin. Please don't even suggest it ladies. He is prize berk.

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 22:17:06

Actually Baking that is why he would make such a good replacement - the gurning, the face, the chin: all elements of Bruce present and correct, all he needs is the 'tache and the waistcoat.

shithappensx1000 Sun 09-Dec-12 22:19:01

Louis, Dani or Kimberley for me - all three seem to be really enjoying themselves.

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 22:19:52

He wasn't bad on the few Hole in the Wall episodes I caught. Not his usual Strictly attitude. I think he'd be alright. But anyone would be better than Bruce. I would be better! And would make Tess look fabulous, no matter what jazzed up rug they threw on her for an excuse for a dress.

threesocksfullofchocs Sun 09-Dec-12 22:21:21

what did James say? I missed that bit

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 22:25:32

He said that she doesnt serve to be on the DO because she's not professionally trained, they do more practice hours than anyone else, She's got a daughter who she never sees. Whine, whine whine.

Serafima Sun 09-Dec-12 22:32:18

Hi all, I'm a lurker who's spent most of today avidly reading these threads - would anyone please be able to pm me the gossip mentioned at the last of the last thread? Thanks

threesocksfullofchocs Sun 09-Dec-12 22:35:21

RedTinsel thanks

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 22:40:15

Serafima - we're trying to keep this thread separate from the other one.The other thread is the place for the recent gossip.

LetUsPrey Sun 09-Dec-12 22:55:24

Will the two dances in next week's show be:

1. A dance the couple hasn't done so far; and
2. The group dance where Len gets his shepherd's crook out to hoik couples off the dance floor.

If Dani and Vincent are dancing the AT, does that mean we get the AT-off between them and Louis and Flavia? Flavia will properly maim Louis if he messes up an AT.

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 22:59:20

If both Dani and Louis do an Argentina Tango, it will be interesting to watch the difference in them. Dani can probably do very precise steps and if she does it right, her acting will help set the mood of the dance. But if Louis is on good form and ready to show some emotion himself, I think he has a great presence that could really overshadow her. But that's more dependant on him putting on a show. I thought he did a bit of a smoulder with his rumba, so maybe he can do it for the AT even more.

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 23:09:31

He has got fantastic presence - some indefinable quality that makes me want to watch him. Darcy used the word 'tender' to describe him in the fusion dance and I thought that was an excellent description - he was sooo Swayze!

CocktailQueen Sun 09-Dec-12 23:11:21

I loved his Swayze dance- it was my fav so far. Go Louis!!!!

ceebeegeebies Mon 10-Dec-12 07:05:30

I totally agree about Flavia and Louis dirty dancing dance I am really hoping that they re-do it for the final, particularly with the improvements he has made since then.

MsInterpret Mon 10-Dec-12 07:37:46

Agree that Louis has presence, something undefinable that makes some of his performances spine-tingling (DDancing, Tango). While Dani is very good, precise and has progressed more I think, her dances don't wow me even with Vincent's great choreography.

I'm going to watch in iplayer after the school run. I can't wait.

I've read the threads (thanks Pan for this one) and it's really got my curiosity up about the fusion thing. smile

yesbutnobut Mon 10-Dec-12 08:56:30

Having been a bit sceptical about the 'fusion' show I thought it was one of the best ever.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Mon 10-Dec-12 09:16:00

Same here, I thought the fusion was going to be gimmicky and forced but it was really well done and some fabulous routines.

I also agree that Louis has a presence that Dani lacks. Kimberley varies a bit too, in the same way as Louis, some weeks she makes much more of an impression on me than others.

Same with Lisa and Nicky, he may be technically better but he just doesn't hold my attention as he dances, there's no wow. Whereas Lisa is full on and makes you sit up and watch.

HalleLouja Mon 10-Dec-12 09:31:14

Team Nimble Kimble here.

HalleLouja Mon 10-Dec-12 09:33:33

DuBerk would be worse than Bruce. I think Claudia should do it but I luffs her.

Would also get rid of Tess she is drippy and not all that. Sorry but its true.

MagicLlama Mon 10-Dec-12 09:38:12

I love Lisa, but i really do think that her dancing is below the standard of the other dancers. She really should (unless someone messes up hugely) go next week.

DvO looked gutted last night, and James' whine really annoyed me. Everyone else has managed to face the DOs without whining about it, and just say they will go out and try their best!

digerd Mon 10-Dec-12 09:52:05

We should learn on ITT this week who is dancing what on Saturday. I can't remember who has not done what yet. Next year I must remember to write it down. Just going to order my Ginko now !!

digerd Mon 10-Dec-12 11:53:38

Seem to have lost a page - been watching Scott Maslen - I do remember that dance and loved it. Then couldn't tear myself away from all the videos of Matt Baker - he was supreme in every dance, very talented and polished. The best imo. Thanks.

iseetinselandtantrums Mon 10-Dec-12 12:22:13

James was a fool to say DVO trained most hours etc. Michael Vaughan was way out in front for most hours put in but he went. Chicago, dance workout video, we're not so green. grin

AndiMac Mon 10-Dec-12 12:25:31

Digerd, I loved Matt Baker too. His backflip off the judges' desk for his Austin Powers based routine sealed my dance crush forever more.

OodKingWenceslas Mon 10-Dec-12 12:38:05

I liked the Austin Powers one too.

Tess is fine with an auto cue, she's not good in the balcony ad-libbing

digerd Mon 10-Dec-12 13:08:44

Andimac
I was wowed by every video I have seen this morning of Matt Bakers.
He had so much natural talent and appeared well trained too, but wasn't he the farmer??? Ginko ordered today for my memory

OodKingWenceslas Mon 10-Dec-12 13:11:39

He was gymnastics trained, presenter & farmer!

digerd Mon 10-Dec-12 13:23:57

Memory better today, must be the sunshine. Didn't know he was gymnastic trained, but knew him from a TV series about the coutryside/farming.

So multi talented and modest.

He was a Blue Peter presenter too. He's now on Country File.

digerd Mon 10-Dec-12 13:48:01

Thought it was Countryfile, but wasn't sure. Don't imagine it appealed to him to follow a showbizz career on the stage, or change to Ballet like Darcy did.
But the man's got oodles of dance talent.

AndiMac Mon 10-Dec-12 14:37:41

And he was so likeable and modest too. Always relieved and grateful every week he went through. <sigh>

Dd and I love him too which means we watch Country File, Strictly and Antiques Road Show one after the other. Bliss! smile

fiftyval Mon 10-Dec-12 15:36:21

I like Anton so would be happy to see him replace Bruce. DD and I decided that the other presenters need to be Claudia and Miranda Hart. Particularly want Claudia back on Takes 2. Get really irritated by Tess, particularly when she thinks she has been funny.

ppeatfruit Mon 10-Dec-12 15:55:55

Well what a palaver grin!! thanks Pan for this anti gossip thread and thanks for the OTHER one too Andi Everything's moving SOOO fast I can't keep up.

IMO Anton only needs the sexist, homophobic attitude to be Brucie's double!!

I LIKE Zoe on TT2 she's fun and has no 'side' to her IFYSWIM. Shame she'll be crippled by her shoes in a few years, but hey!

I still want Danni to win but wouldn't be upset if Louis won either.grin

frankinsensible Mon 10-Dec-12 15:59:16

I don't mind Tess, she seems a bland good sort and I think you need a bit of that to counteract all the drama. I like Anton as well, don't see why people are so against him - he's funny in a corny way which would suit the show and happy to send himself up. Also an excellent dancer of course. Has Bruce said he definitely retiring? If not they are going to have to tactfully but firmly retire him anyway - it's getting pretty embarassing now.

ppeatfruit Mon 10-Dec-12 16:41:35

Yes very true about B.F. frankinsensible

frankinsensible Mon 10-Dec-12 16:47:54

I have to mute him every time he goes to speak. He seems to be getting more bolshy as he gets less coherent - blethering on while people are trying to talk. Oh and that clanger re Nancy Dell'olio (made me laugh tho grin)

digerd Mon 10-Dec-12 17:02:41

Frankin
Incoherent, that's the word I was thinking of, or thought it might be his false teeth he couldn't get his tongue round <grin>

digerd Mon 10-Dec-12 17:14:06

I'd like to see Brucie dancing ballet with Janet Ball again, it was in black and white on BBC 1 yonks ago, but can't find a video of it. I thought he danced well, then. He was wearing black tights, I seem to remember and Janet was very tall

Horsemad Mon 10-Dec-12 18:44:46

Love Karen's dress on ITT tonight.

AndiMac Mon 10-Dec-12 20:44:15

I had to laugh at the pace she set for the Pro Challenge. So cute.

HalleLouja Mon 10-Dec-12 21:43:14

I never liked Zoe until she was on SCD. She went up in my estimations.

RedTinsel Mon 10-Dec-12 21:44:14

What's going on with the Threads I'm on tonight, I've been back on the gossipy thread again.

Karen and the pro challenge was funny, I'm imagining Erin sidling up to her beforehand 'dont go too fast or they wont count them. You've got two minutes you, pace yourself....<evil grin >'

extremelychocolateymilkroll Mon 10-Dec-12 22:56:48

Thanks AndiMac for the very prompt pm.

Did anyone else see Brendan hold up 5 fingers after Lisa's dance? I thought there was a feeling among the pros that her dance was way overmarked.

I'm finding it hard to know who to support this year. Dani is good but lacks the wow factor for me. DVO is great to watch but is very hard to warm to and has of course banged on too much about how hard it is for her. Lisa is fun to watch but the gap in the level of dancing between her and the others is getting too big now. Louis can be great to watch but is difficult to engage with. Kimberley seems like a genuinely sweet girl so I think she's my favourite. Even though she danced in her part in Shrek and in Girls Aloud she did at least say she thought this gave her an advantage. I would have thought that Lisa, Dani and maybe even Sid Owen have all had dance training as well. It would be interesting to see how much training each has had.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Mon 10-Dec-12 23:17:41

Hello, have been a bit busy the last couple of weeks (I think I might have missed the last thread completely) but I'm back now smile

I'll go off and catch up on one I've missed but first:

-I'd have preferred two separate dances to fusions
-glad Nicky's gone (but his fusion was the hardest I thought, and Dani's probably the easiest)
-Lisa should go next
-DvO looked really upset to be in the dance off, I felt very sorry for her (also, she looked a bit not so well I thought, a bit pale and kept touching her stomach. Cramps perhaps? There's been a sickness and diarrhoea bug going around here, so perhaps she's caught that.)
-The wardrobe department made a really good job of fixing her skirt before the results show.
-I liked Kimberley but don't know if it deserved a 40
-Louis has huge hands

Sorry if you've gone over that all already you probably have I'll go and catch up now grin

AndiMac Mon 10-Dec-12 23:28:02

Did anyone see that bit on Monday's ITT where they get the thrown-out celeb and dancer to talk straight to the camera after the Sunday show? Nicky said a few vague nice things that could have been said about his buddy Michael Vaughan. "We've had a few giggles. I think I've made a friend for life. Thanks" Didn't say her name at all. Brrr, he's cold.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Tue 11-Dec-12 00:52:25

Yes, usually they at least seem fond of each other by this point (well, unless they obviously hate each other, but couples like that don't usually get that far). It seemed like he could have met her for the first time this week!

Also, what James said about training, daughter etc. was perhaps not the best, but I honestly thought DVO was going to cry/be sick if she tried to speak, so he was frantically trying to fill time so she could collect herself. I don't think she spoke at all in that section.

AdesteFiderer Tue 11-Dec-12 08:51:19

I'd like Flavia to win. I remember the first time I saw her on SCD, she did an AT and it was, she was, breathtaking.

Googling to find out when that was I came across this. Talk about a spreadsheet grin

That's brilliant! grin

ppeatfruit Tue 11-Dec-12 12:44:26

But on the sofa on TT2 Nicky seemed almost human (I knew Karen was going to cry) She's very emotional, maybe it was hissing that put Nicky off!!

AndiMac Tue 11-Dec-12 12:51:20

Yes, he laughed at the right places during the VT, but still, very little recognition of Karen. She might be a harridan in the studio, but all of Artem's partners always thank him for being a taskmaster, so it can't just be her.

Certainly didn't make me like him much, despite how easy on the eyes and ears he might otherwise be.

ppeatfruit Tue 11-Dec-12 12:59:16

And she thanked HIM very sweetly I thought. He's obviously a bit of a clod.!

digerd Tue 11-Dec-12 19:04:01

DVO doing the Rumba and Tango on Saturday. I expect to be wowed at last by at least her Rumba.

chipstick10 Tue 11-Dec-12 19:09:49

Was standing next to Zoe ball waiting to pay in selfridges today. She's very tall.

Horsemad Tue 11-Dec-12 19:11:03

What was she buying Chip?!

chipstick10 Tue 11-Dec-12 19:36:33

I don't know, we were in the basement where the xmas shop is. I was too busy trying to listen to what she was saying to her mate. Whatever it was she found it or them annoying coz I heard her say "arrrrrhhhh I'm just so grrrrrr" confused

Horsemad Tue 11-Dec-12 19:40:06

grin

AndiMac Tue 11-Dec-12 20:02:17

Anyone watched ITT yet? I'm now definitely on Team Louis. Not so much for his body as his sense of humour. But the bod helps!

Horsemad Tue 11-Dec-12 20:04:07

Missed it - saw the butcher in his glittery shirt grin is it on iPlayer?

AndiMac Tue 11-Dec-12 20:09:36

Not yet. But worth it for the two minutes before the butcher. Who I though was great in his pink glitter shirt!

AndiMac Tue 11-Dec-12 20:10:04

Thought was great

digerd Tue 11-Dec-12 20:25:47

Yes, Andimac, I did. and reported earlier that DVO is dancing the Rumba and Tango on Saturday. Expect her Rumba will be really good. Karen said Lisa made lots of mistakes. She loved Louis, Dani and Kimberly and also that DVo's music for the quickstep was too fast, which is what I said. Karen demoed quite a few steps again, showing how they should be done, or how good they were.

Biscuitsandtinsel Tue 11-Dec-12 20:51:12

Just coming in to mark my place on this thread too smile

TheOriginalPan Tue 11-Dec-12 21:42:53

I think Nick's "friend for life" was a ref. to Michael, I think. He'd also made a nasty ref. to Natalie's hair colour which was so off. Karen really wouldn't need a 'friend' like Nick? And her pro- challenge was great wasn't it? And someone's note that in those circs there is no need to do a slow-mo to analyse her count.grin
Dying to see the butcher in the glittery shirt on i-player.

Horsemad Tue 11-Dec-12 21:48:25

The butcher was hilarious grin

ppeatfruit Wed 12-Dec-12 08:49:15

The pro challenges are a bit hmm IMO The only interesting element is to see what type of shoes the pros choose to do it in. Did anyone see Robin (I think) in huge trainers! how daft was that! I don't think anyone has worn the proper tap type shoes (I may be wrong i haven't seen them all)

Qh also how kind or otherwise CRH is (he seems much nicer to the girls!)

I liked the butcher too Horsemad

digerd Wed 12-Dec-12 17:09:03

Aliona's kick ball changes looked odd to me, and Karen's too precise and dainty - and slow. I liked Natalie's. But love everything Nat does. Looking forward to Flavia's and Vincent's

digerd Wed 12-Dec-12 19:06:51

ITT Wednesday.
Louis doing the Foxtrot and Jive on Saturday
Saw part of DVOs training and her Rumba as expected looks good - Ian said this will be her best dance.

RedTinsel Wed 12-Dec-12 20:37:57

Aliona hasn't done the Pro challenge yet has she? Reckon Flavia will Win.

ppeatfruit Thu 13-Dec-12 08:24:25

Thinking about Louis, who's coming over much more of a human now, I reckon him and Flavia will win the whole show!! His dancing is now so good. Of course the gym training has helped his suppleness! grin

digerd Thu 13-Dec-12 09:49:44

Red
I got the name wrong < not surprised > it was Erin.
Last night, Vincent didn't do as well as expected, and slowed down towards the end and looked as if he got cramp He went down on the floor and went off on his hands and knees.

digerd Thu 13-Dec-12 10:00:26

ppeat
Ian said Louis should point his toes in the Jive flicks, and needs more bounce. Haven't seen much if any of his Foxtrot in training yet. I love a man to have big hands, hope Louis holds them more gracefully in the foxtrot though, especially for Craig.

AndiMac Thu 13-Dec-12 10:52:08

Thumb tucked in! For Louis dahling.

digerd Thu 13-Dec-12 13:24:21

More worried for Louis in his Jive, as his gymnastics can't help there with the fast bouncy footwork. And the expression of the Jive in the shoulders and arms must reflect the vivacious style , in other words he must let himself go and throw himself into it, more than in the Charleston. Perhaps the ingenious Flavia will have something choreographed to show off his strengths - more like rocknroll perhaps, but Craig and Len may not be happy? Fingers crossed for Louis.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Thu 13-Dec-12 15:45:04

I thought his jive would look better than it was doing actually. I suppose that might have only been Tuesday though, so I'm sure it'll be fine by Saturday. I don't really like the rock'n'roll style jives (was it Nicky who did one?) I think since ballroom jive is actually 'defined' iyswim they should stick to doing it properly.

I sometimes wonder if it might be better if they could only use syllabus/restricted steps...more focus on the technique than all the tricks.

frankinsensible Thu 13-Dec-12 16:37:05

I think his jive will have shaped up through the week but probably not his strongest dance. I hope Flavia won't rely on him throwing in gymnastic tricks - makes me cringe a bit and seems to get up the judges noses too.

Nice to hear Ian make a special mention about Vincent's choreography for the fusion - absolutely brilliant and should have got 40.

digerd Thu 13-Dec-12 17:44:18

Can't remember and neither could ZOE always, who shall we see doing the kick ball change tonight? Flavia or one other .

digerd Thu 13-Dec-12 18:46:35

It was Pasha and Flavia and FLAVIA WON, yeahhh

awaynboilyurheid Thu 13-Dec-12 19:15:44

so want Flavia and louis to win SCD why is it craig always scores them so low last sat their dance every bit as good as kimberly's it can't just be his thumbs!

frankinsensible Thu 13-Dec-12 19:27:13

Craig is very often unpleasant towards the handsome male celeb dancers - he was nasty to Scott Maslen, Matt di Angelo and Tom Chambers as I recall. His remark to Nicky last week about having to do his dance again was really bitchy.

MsInterpret Thu 13-Dec-12 19:45:26

Anyone else really enjoying the Karen/Ian segments on ITT where they explain the history of the dances? I guess lots of you already know tons but I knew nothing about the origins of the Argentine Tango for example.

Wish I'd watched Strictly when those two were regular pros.

digerd Thu 13-Dec-12 20:18:34

That was so funny about the Argentine Tango, wasn't it. <grin>

digerd Thu 13-Dec-12 20:30:31

MsInterpret
look up on Google -Karen Hardy and Mark Ramprakash on Strictly 2006.
A feast for your eyes!

Frankelstein Thu 13-Dec-12 20:46:59

Karen & Mark's AT is tied with Darren & Jill's Jive as the best ever dance on SCD grin

Frankelstein Thu 13-Dec-12 20:48:05

BTW, Len is doing a TV programme on the history of Ballroom dance over Christmas. It's on BBC4 on 27th December.

MsInterpret Thu 13-Dec-12 21:17:09

Ooh thanks everyone!

I've watched the Karen/Ramps clip before. I like it but I think a big part of loving the dances (for me, probably because I'm not a dancer) is knowing the couple and their story/history/journey.

I kind of can't imagine karen or Ian just being 'ordinary' pros because they're so authoritative and knowledgeable on ITT. Not that other pros wouldn't be I suppose, just that their egos seem more removed' and I enjoy hearing proper critique of the dances and discussion of technique which you don't get much of from the other pros (because they're too busy training/trying to make sure the public will vote for them) or, for that matter, the judges, sadly.

Biscuitsandtinsel Thu 13-Dec-12 21:20:27

So how many kick ball changes did flavia and pasha do? I saw that f won but didn't see the final leaderboard confused?

digerd Thu 13-Dec-12 21:23:08

Frankin
Did you ever see that australian Ballroom/Latin film - so funny and moving?

TheOriginalPan Thu 13-Dec-12 21:25:58

Flavia, the dahlink, did 76. The others did less. smile. She is the World Record Holder!

Frankelstein Thu 13-Dec-12 21:39:45

Strictly Ballroom is farking hilarious! Botopogo anyone? wink

I think Pasha did 73, Zoe said they both beat Erin's 71.

Biscuitsandtinsel Fri 14-Dec-12 05:43:57

Ah thank you both - that will teach me for trying to listen to DH at the same time grin

I love strictly ballroom - I'd love to watch it again now as I don't think I'd ever watched SCD the last time I would have watched it 100 years ago

ppeatfruit Fri 14-Dec-12 07:05:50

Well done on guessing Flav would win the challenge redtinsel She LOOKED the best doing it too!

Blimey that Artem is fantastic looking isn't he? I don't think I've seen him close up before grin

Biscuitsandtinsel Fri 14-Dec-12 07:10:13

I thought artem looked pretty good yesterday too but he also seemed a lot more relaxed (maybe because he's not competing?) which maybe helped?

Also agree that flavia's KBCs looked fab - lots of the pros thought she'd win too didn't they

ppeatfruit Fri 14-Dec-12 07:21:50

yeah she's incredibly talented and NICE too!

AndIfATenTonTruck Fri 14-Dec-12 14:51:00

hi all, don't usually watch ITT but have seen a couple of this week's, and I think I caught James indicating their tango routine was going to be a bit 'different'... wonder if that is really wise? If the judges don't like it, either they will have to ace the rumba or they risk being in the dance off again.

Also, we have five couples left but only two weekends. Has it been confirmed that the final will be between four, or could it be a surprise double exit tomorrow??

ppeatfruit Fri 14-Dec-12 15:07:05

Andif they have already said that there'll be 4 couples in the final (I THINK!).

What I thought was really ironic is that Danni and Vincent are dancing to a song from CHICAGO!! I wonder why DVO ain't gonna dance to that one?? grin

frankinsensible Fri 14-Dec-12 16:14:37

Naughty ppeat...grin

This semi is going to be so nerve-wracking. Presumably it's top secret what share of the public vote each couple have been getting so far. I assume that Louis is safe, he is so popular (and gorgeous...sigh), I also have a hunch that Lisa still has a lot of fans out there but I could be wrong.

Assuming I'm right then either Dani or Kimberley will have to go in the dance-off with DVO and the judges are going to be torn apart deciding who to go with. If they sacrifice either of those two for DVO there's gonna be a riot! (in my living room anyway!)

digerd Fri 14-Dec-12 16:31:18

I shall "pickle my walnuts", if DVO does not produce a wow rumba and get 10s all round. Haven't seen her Tango, but will create spectacular lines with her legs.
Maybe true that the majority of viewers prefer Lisa to DVO, but there's no comparison in their dancing skills. I want Lisa to go this week.
And hope Louis lets himself go in the Jive.

Pan Fri 14-Dec-12 16:35:50

I suspect Devo and James' rhumba might be very convincing..

yes time for Lisa to go.

There's no justice. I started a work sweepstake, after Mr Ball was eliminated. £3 a go. I drew Fern. The people who drew Louis and Kimberley are two blokes who have nooooo interest whatsoever and have to ask me on Monday mornings what happened. £39 will go to the entirely undeserving.

Pan Fri 14-Dec-12 16:42:11

I think I am going to lie one Monday. They won't know.grin

digerd Fri 14-Dec-12 17:04:22

Pan
I don't think DVO even likes James particularly, but perhaps that's because I don't think he's attractive at all. Now PASHA yummy.
I think DVO, Kimberley, Danni and Louis are all on a par in their own way. I don't mind which of them wins.
How annoying about your sweepstake. <angry face>

Pan Fri 14-Dec-12 17:27:15

No, maybe she doesn't, digerd.

oh it was worse when I did a footie Euro 2012 sweep in summer. Bloke pulls out Germany (or whoever was hot favourite and eventual winner), look sat me and innocently asks. "Are Germany any good?"angry

AndiMac Fri 14-Dec-12 17:38:09

I hope it wasn't the same fellow Pan. I could see not knowing anything about Strictly or nothing about about football, but both is stretching the point perhaps. Then again, I'm a Strictly addict and love the Europa and World Cup, so I suppose it takes all sorts! (Spain won this summer).

Pan Fri 14-Dec-12 17:54:21

Ah Spain, yes thanks. Who could forget?blush. No not the same chap.

Just hope James keeps schtum IF they are in any dance-off again. Devo would have reason to be miffed about that interjection from last week.

digerd Fri 14-Dec-12 18:36:32

What is this "bloke" interested in then I wonder?

Ooh Pasha and Kimberley on ITT, plus Dani and Vincent. They have a passionate AT piece of music - gets me in the tango mood.

Frankelstein Fri 14-Dec-12 18:38:01

So glad that Vincent is using proper Tango music for his AT routine with Dani. The same piece they used for this beautiful routine.

Sparklingbrook Fri 14-Dec-12 18:40:20

That french judge looks like an extra from Grease. grin

digerd Fri 14-Dec-12 18:47:44

A sexy American Smooth for Kim and Pasha to FEVER - might not be Fred and Ginge enough for Len?

Frankelstein Fri 14-Dec-12 18:48:34

Chris Marques is based in the UK. He was British Salsa Champion with Jackie Spencer.

They've performed on SCD in the past.

Sparklingbrook Fri 14-Dec-12 18:50:28

Oooh I didn't know that Frankel, I don't remember seeing him.

JLS? Why are we being treated to them on ITT? confused

Pan Fri 14-Dec-12 18:51:51

Never seen them before but they do seem up to speed with the vibe. <hip>

digerd Fri 14-Dec-12 18:55:43

Oh no, Dvo's rumba music is my fave romantic song - First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - eyes filling up with tears already.

Pan Fri 14-Dec-12 18:57:21

oh I have First Time, Roberta Flack video on my Bookmarks!

digerd Fri 14-Dec-12 19:09:25

I must put earplugs in if I want to be able to see DVO's rumba clearly and not with eyes full of tears and everything bleary !!

Pan Fri 14-Dec-12 19:16:05

digerd we may have to turn the sound down, so we don't hear the song yelping as it is being slaughtered.grin

digerd Fri 14-Dec-12 19:27:23

Oh yes, it probably won't sound the same, but it is the words that affect me, and if the dance is soooo romantic too, I'll be off. Must immerse myself in the beauty of the dance, and James face will bring me down to earth, I hope.

Biscuitsandtinsel Fri 14-Dec-12 19:30:10

Just watched ITT, well, fast forwarded through half of it, especially the bit with jls on - bring back the old panels of people who watched the show not just people performing on the 'Sunday' show don't get me started on the fake Sunday thing

Anyway, I wanted to know WHY Robin wears such ridiculous shoes. He had massive 1980s teenager trainers on again. Sir Ian of Waite always tells us the importance of dancing in proper shoes - wouldn't that apply to the pros too? I actually thought their dance (whatever it was - missed the intro) looked a bit 'meh' and out of time. I think Lisa should go this week - she's well off the pace of the others unless she pulls something AMAZING out of the bag this week?

I always loved robin in previous years but he seems odd this year and not always quite on the ball. Don't know what it is but he doesn't seem himself sad

Pan Fri 14-Dec-12 19:30:35

"And the moon and the stars,
Were the gifts you gave,
To the dark,
and the endless sky
my love"

not much better is there?

Horsemad Fri 14-Dec-12 19:30:40

Ha ha at 'are Germany good'

digerd Fri 14-Dec-12 19:37:25

Oh Pan you've started me off again. The most beautiful love song, isn't it Hope it's not slaughtered though.

Pan Fri 14-Dec-12 19:42:13

<cruel>

I'd think it's the most beautiful, moving song ever written.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Fri 14-Dec-12 22:52:53

I missed that, I'll be another one off I think! Especially if their rumba is as good as I think it could be.

I don't always like James's style, but sometimes he picks absolutely gorgeous music.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 08:19:52

Just hearing that Brucie went home from rehearsals early yesterday, and is a doubt for this evening. Sounds possibly like the time for decisions to be made.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 08:22:06

Horsemad - it would have worked much better if I could have remembered the question as it was actually asked. "Spain. Are they any good?" grin

Horsemad Sat 15-Dec-12 08:33:35

Lol, even beter Pan! I always go for Spain in the footy smile

Horsemad Sat 15-Dec-12 08:34:08

better even. Grrrr.

ppeatfruit Sat 15-Dec-12 08:45:45

Of course I meant Lisa and Robin are dancing to a song from Chicago frankin blush grin I wonder if they chose it deliberately? grin

Oh yes I LOVE the Ian and Karen history bits too (sorry I can't remember who mentioned them) they obviously enjoy them mightily themselves!!

Sparklingbrook Sat 15-Dec-12 08:56:18
ppeatfruit Sat 15-Dec-12 09:09:14

Oh dear sparkling grin!!

Sparklingbrook Sat 15-Dec-12 09:39:11

I do hope he's okay, kust not okay enought to do the show. Is that bad ppeat?

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 11:22:24

I don't think so sparkling grin

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 11:25:56

Watching ITT from last night. V interested in the other variations.

AndiMac Sat 15-Dec-12 12:48:36

For those who skipped JLS, you missed out. They sounded like they actually watch the show, rather than guessing something to say from a 3-second video clip. And Aston Merrygold is both Louis Smith's mate and a dancing judge himself on Got to Dance, so had relevant things to say. I had to look up his name because I know nothing about JLS, but I did really enjoy their comments. Far more than what-his-face Mr Shuster from Glee the week before (and I love Glee).

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 13:02:19

Just checked the time of SCD tonight, and is from 6.30-8.15. Hope I don't get any visitors or phone calls, and dinner will have to wait !!

ppeatfruit Sat 15-Dec-12 14:54:27

well Sparkling I'd wish him unwell enough just not to do any more of SCD!!!!grin He effs it up too much and I get the impression the producers are too scared and or too young to say anything IYKWIM grin

Agree about JLS Andimac it just shows how easy it is to be prejudiced grin.

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 16:53:50

Don't want brucie dead or ought like that, but kinda glad he's too ill to do the show tonight!

Did anyone read DVO interview in the daily fail?? All woe is me, and 'I'm not a dancer', ' I've been hard done by' etc etc. she's not helping herself in the popularity stakes is she??

My prediction for tonight is that judges will over mark DVO to ensure she's not in bottom again. I think if she's anywhere but top two she will be in the dance off again.

AndiMac Sat 15-Dec-12 17:02:56

That article didn't do her any favours, did it? What's ironic, if I just think about the facts of the whole thing, I'm actually quite sympathetic towards to her, just not the way she comes across in that article.

ppeatfruit Sat 15-Dec-12 17:27:36

I'm not technically able to link to the article grin could anyone VERY kindly do the honours i'd like to read that!

AndiMac Sat 15-Dec-12 18:04:02

Denise blasts back. You can tell from the Mail's title they aren't exactly going to show her sympathetically.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 18:16:40

That article is one of those 'poor me' ones which is how she keeps coming across.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 18:20:12

To me, it comes across as evermore whinney. It read like she thinks she is/was entitled to more than she got, and looked to blame anyone else around for her not getting what she thought she was entitled to. But that's 'the biz'. smile

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 18:20:29

thanks Andi for the link.

AndiMac Sat 15-Dec-12 18:33:38

Pan, I know, it does come across whingey. But if I think about it as happening to someone else, it's really a bit harsh few years she's had.

Checking in for half an hour or so, then kids to bed and a Christmas party. I'll have to catch up later.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 18:34:53

All ready?

AndiMac Sat 15-Dec-12 18:35:32

Oh god, Bruce is here.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 18:35:52

Nooooooo sad

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 18:37:48

Wtf!! Brucie made a miraculous recovery.

Sheet.

ifancyashandy Sat 15-Dec-12 18:38:07

Tests looks lovely.

Minichristmas Sat 15-Dec-12 18:39:10

Poor Tess she is leaning away more than usual.

ifancyashandy Sat 15-Dec-12 18:40:06

Tests?! hmm. That'll be Tess.... (And, I know for a fact she adores Bruce)

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 18:41:35

Doesn't want to catch anything I expect.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 18:44:43

Nice smile

Lovely music and Vincent in a proper tailsuit smile

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 18:45:21

Ifancy - do spill what you know re tess!

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 18:45:24

I liked it. Fluffy and smooth at the same time.

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 18:47:33

Dani looks good.

ifancyashandy Sat 15-Dec-12 18:49:50

baking, can't! Would out myself. But she genuinely cares about him and respects his career. Whatever you think of him, it's bloody amazing that he's maintained a high profile on the telly for so long.

MsInterpret Sat 15-Dec-12 18:51:17

Just tuned in as having a BFing break from big family meal. Hehe...step-mum v jealous!

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 18:51:22

He'll be tripping over his trousers if he's not careful...

<old gimmer>

ifancyashandy Sat 15-Dec-12 18:51:39

Flavia looks AMAZING!

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 18:51:53

But if he was femal he wouldn't have angry

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 18:52:01

God flavia is gorgeous.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 18:52:24

This looks clumsy ?

AndiMac Sat 15-Dec-12 18:52:54

Yes, not Louis's best sadly.

Louis just seemed lack sparkle in it

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 18:53:16

Think the jacket affected his arms?

sassytheFIRST Sat 15-Dec-12 18:53:42

Hard to watch Louis as Flavia so stunning and dancing so brilliantly.

ifancyashandy Sat 15-Dec-12 18:54:08

That whole routine was on her toes! Ouch! Calves of steel!! But we shouldn't be looking at the Pro....

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 18:54:17

IMO his steps were far too big. It was quite an easy routine I thought (well, I could do all the steps grin .

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 18:54:25

no no no...really a bit dull! His jump and splits was fab.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 18:54:39

I can't wait to see Vincent tango

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 18:58:14

Louis was a bit flat in the Jive, <sad face>

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 15-Dec-12 19:01:04

Quick maths update here. If we assume that Louis is getting the most votes, Lisa the second, and Denise bottom then the way to put Lisa in the dance-off and kick her out is to put her bottom of the leader board, Denise top, and Louis second from bottom.

Just saying.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:01:06

Aww, what a sweetie smile

ifancyashandy Sat 15-Dec-12 19:02:25

Dens dress is beautiful. And that's a bloody fast tango.

chocolatespiders Sat 15-Dec-12 19:02:41

Is it worth voting Louis tonight... or do I save my votes for the final???

ifancyashandy Sat 15-Dec-12 19:03:10

She danced her arse off!

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:03:13

Not feeling this for some reason. It's terribly good but not enjoyable.

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:04:08

Her daughter, hmm am I being cynical?

ifancyashandy Sat 15-Dec-12 19:04:28

But the tango's not supposed to be 'enjoyable'. It's an arrogant, angry dance.

SuffolkNWhat Sat 15-Dec-12 19:05:07

DVO is going to get high marks for this dance

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:05:24

The judges can praise her all they like, the public are not warming to her.

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 15-Dec-12 19:05:44

Depends where he sits on the leader-board spiders. I reckon he's shipping votes by the tonne though, so will be fine without your 15p's worth.

CuthbertDibble Sat 15-Dec-12 19:06:07

Looks like it could be four tens for DVO.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:06:15

Yes but you can enjoy watching that. I didn't feel any emotion in it. That was what was wrong with it - really clinical.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:06:42

Ridiculously good. Unfortunately.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:07:03

The audience don't have phone James. Sorry.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:07:05

Anyone else want to slap whoever was shouting 'rubbish' ?

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:07:06

I know people don't like her, but she definitely deserves to be in the final dancing like that.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:07:37

I do t know why everyone boos Craig. I think he's spot on.

PuffPants Sat 15-Dec-12 19:07:38

They're determined to shoe her into the final so she was always going to score high this week, no matter what.

Cringy vt with her daughter - what a lovely surprise! As if!

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:07:55

Vinegar Tits prison warder feel about it.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:08:54

Ooh good. Go girl

Unfortunately la cole is in the audience - kiss of death

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:10:13

They always do that with the children though. I remember Robbie last year, Austin was awful for it too (very sweet children though). It doesn't bother me. And that's before they bring in random ballet classes or go to schools.

See, Kimberley's at it too grin

PuffPants Sat 15-Dec-12 19:10:19

Would it constitute gossip for me to ask where DVO's husband is? How come he can't make it even one Sat night?

ifancyashandy Sat 15-Dec-12 19:10:38

No more cynical than getting Dani or Kimberley's families in... Don't get me wrong, I don't warm to DVO's desperation

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:12:32

odd. No fever really?

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:13:21

That never had 40% in hold...

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:13:40

Ha, Len agrees grin

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:13:51

Lee mead is probably in something

AmIthatTinselly Sat 15-Dec-12 19:14:01

I cannot believe that DVO didn't do the phone thing tonight. Am almost disappointed.

And doesn't Pash look gorgeous grin

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 15-Dec-12 19:14:06

That was fantastic choreography from Pasha - and he's so much more watchable than James, which gives Kimberley the edge over Denise for me, even though she's just as much of a Ringahhh.

Did you see Dani's excellent bitch-face as she applauded with gritted teeth on the balcony.

AndiMac Sat 15-Dec-12 19:14:11

PuffPants, he has been there earlier in the series.

Really enjoyed Kimberly's Fever Smooth. Love the song and thought it was both danced and performed well.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:14:58

She does have rhythm

And a cracking bod which helps

MordionAgenos Sat 15-Dec-12 19:15:00

lea Mead has been in the audience several times. But right now he's appearing in Panto in Southampton with my mate. So he's a bit busy.

MordionAgenos Sat 15-Dec-12 19:15:25

Sorry, don't know how the auto correct did that. LEE Mead.

FamiliesShareGerms Sat 15-Dec-12 19:16:35

Is it me or is Dave Arch and his orchestra a bit off tonight? Couple of ropey vocals in the first two numbers, bass player got a bit lost in "Fever"

MordionAgenos Sat 15-Dec-12 19:16:54

I really don't like Pasha. I'm not wild about Kimberley either but I don't dislike her. I do dislike Pasha.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:17:48

Pasha's hair looks awful. Sorry Pasha, but seriously, just grow it out!

StickyProblem Sat 15-Dec-12 19:18:28

LOL Pan at "Vinegar tits prison warder"!

DVO always has that hair and with the dark lipstick looks very hard. They seem to have standardised the hairstyles, perhaps to help people not get confused and vote for the wrong person, and Kimberly gets the flowing locks while Denise gets the Prison Officer's Quiff.

Gigondas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:19:30

They are desperately playing up dvo and Kimberley.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:19:41

Baby wars has broken out in earnest...

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:20:30

I am so over Lisa. Time to go home love.

WinklyVersusTheZombies Sat 15-Dec-12 19:21:10

Joining this fred to see what people thing of Lisa's orange fringed dress

StickyProblem Sat 15-Dec-12 19:21:20

She looks tired.. it's a shame, I really liked her at first, but the rest of them are very very very good this year. I am a big Robin fan!

WinklyVersusTheZombies Sat 15-Dec-12 19:21:24

*think

The red wine is working

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 19:21:35

Kimberley enthralled me, more than Denise did except for the end bit, when DVO did impel me to watch her.
Ahh Pasha, I like the way he shows Kimberly off and not himself.

MerryChristMoose Sat 15-Dec-12 19:21:38

I agree chipstick

Ah I don't dislike pascha he comes across as a genuine nice guy but also lovel choreographer I enjoy watching his dances

Teahouse Sat 15-Dec-12 19:22:27

I like DVO. I don't why she is unpopular. It is a dance competition and she can certainly dance. It is unfair she gets the 'hard look' hair.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Sat 15-Dec-12 19:22:36

Fed up of Lis's grinning and pointing now. So clumsy.

FamiliesShareGerms Sat 15-Dec-12 19:22:39

I think this is the end of the road for Lisa

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:23:17

What else is she doing? Foxtrot-based smooth?

I think it's time for her to go.

Minichristmas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:23:33

My slightly grumpy DH is mumbling their all playing the rug-rats card.grin

Minichristmas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:24:11

They're that is

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:24:35

Kimberley has the edge overDVO as she admits she's done dancing stuff and it helping her adapt much easier. She also seems more down to earth.

Lisa has had some dodgy dresses!

AndiMac Sat 15-Dec-12 19:24:41

Yeah, they are all going for the sympathetic vote.

Never seen Craig lose it with laughter like that. I feel unnerved.

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:24:44

It's Dvo's desperation that puts my back up, it's awful.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:25:26

Taxi for Lisa

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:25:28

Mmmmm Louis in a suit ...

MrsTomHardy Sat 15-Dec-12 19:26:27

Robin is hot smile

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:26:37

Why are all of them being over marked? And IMHO dani is the only one week after week who is not over marked.

chocolatespiders Sat 15-Dec-12 19:26:41

Damm missed Louis in a suit... may have to open DD's Louis Smith Calendar for a quick peek!!

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:26:44

Lisa was as good as Louis? hmm

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 15-Dec-12 19:27:00

8 for that Darcy? hmm I hope the ghost of Anna Pavlova turns up and haunts you in your sleep tonight.

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 19:27:23

Ridiculous - Louis and Lisa given the same marks. Lisa way over-marked !

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:27:27

I was too busy staring at flavia to notice Louis

AndiMac Sat 15-Dec-12 19:27:28

I thought that as well Pan, but he was pretty sloppy in the jive.

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 19:28:16

Denise is starting to look like Shirley from eastenders. Hard as nails. Cheap cheap cheap bringing the baby out.

Lisa looks like an overripe satsuma.

Can't believe Flavia danced in flats! Wow.

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 19:28:19

What are the judges up to??

MerryChristMoose Sat 15-Dec-12 19:29:24

This Argentine Tango better be good!

Anyone else notice Artem in background looking rather ill or upsetsad

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:29:47

I don't know, at least it was her own baby, not just one belonging to a friend-or-relation.

This should be good.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:29:56

Louis wasn't gear but better than Lisa

MerryChristMoose Sat 15-Dec-12 19:30:46

Ooh! My favourite piece of music too!

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:30:52

I thought Artem looked pissed off earlier

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:32:06

I loved that. Really moody

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:32:15

yes, sloppy and a bit unconnected.

FamiliesShareGerms Sat 15-Dec-12 19:32:20

Tracey Beaker is all grown up.... That was a good tango, no?

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 19:32:28

That was a very moody tango.

Minichristmas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:33:33

I love her in that dress.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:33:42

The tango was sloppy pan? Really?

StickyProblem Sat 15-Dec-12 19:34:15

Don't all the people who are out of the competition but are contracted to hang round the landing part near Tess look really fed up? I don't know why they make them do it. I've no objection to looking at Artem in slashed-to-the-waist fuchsia but I feel sorry for them.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:34:47

no Chubs - Louis in jive.

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 19:35:30

I think one of the probs for DVO is that she is unlikeable and so is James. He is just vile!

I loved that and love seeing how her confidence and how she has matured in herself and lOoks more grown up

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:37:00

Ooh, Darcey's dress is nice in this bit.

Wonder if Artem knee is causing him pain ti know he had a op

Gigondas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:38:10

Think there is some truth in that baking- I am not sure i dislike dvo but she comes across as so desperate it is blardy off putting.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:38:11

Yes liked that .

AmIthatTinselly Sat 15-Dec-12 19:38:30

shock Someone dislikes Pasha?????

I can't believe it

StickyProblem Sat 15-Dec-12 19:39:39

Gotye!!!! Genius! (Dave Arch struggling a bit with the vocal though...)

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:39:47

I agree James is vile. Couldn't be a worse pairing for me.

MerryChristMoose Sat 15-Dec-12 19:39:49

God. The vocalist is murdering this.

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:41:32

Who will be going tomoz do we think?

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:41:45

Yes v bad singing on that one

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:42:07

I usually love foxtrot, but I didn't really enjoy that. Mind you, that might have been to do with the vocals hmm

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Sat 15-Dec-12 19:42:20

Love Pasha, hate James. Pasha dances beautifully, seems like a lovely, genuine, guy, good looking too. James - unattractive, arrogant, humourless.

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 19:42:52

James can't resist making a snarky comment if things aren't going his way, he's a lot less likeable than the other male dancers and frankly I think he's dragging DVO down the phone votes.

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 19:44:59

Artem looks really fit today. Laughing at pashas face at Kim's crotch for start Abd end of dance!! Why is it only me that notices things like this ???

Sorry for lowering the tone. Haha.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:45:04

Volume down digerd.smile

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 19:45:32

Chip on ability, Lisa.

It never helps Kimberley's chances when Beryl's in the house. I'd be worried if I were her.

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 19:46:00

Yes!!! James is not helping despo DVO.

Gigondas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:46:01

James worse than Brendan?

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 19:46:17

Get the tissues ready. "First Time" song coming up next. Wonder if Darcey will have a tear in her eyes ?

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:46:42

Denise is going through no problem. But god I hope she doesn't win.

Minichristmas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:47:05

DVO and James leave me cold, but their dance was good. Love Pasha and Vincent. Lisa must go.

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:47:35

Agree enjoy

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:47:58

Yes James is less likeable than Brendan.

Which is quite an achievement.

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 19:48:23

James doesn't have Brendon's wit. It's a close call between the two though.

I think they've gotten too big fr their boots, especially when compared to the likeability of Robin, Pascha and Artem. Plus Anton's funny.

I like Brendan think he changed yes there's still rebel there but he comes across as fun rather than arrgoant . As for James I think depends who with I thought Year with Pamela brought out a funnier more relaxed side

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:49:29

Why isn't Ian in this year? I love him

MerryChristMoose Sat 15-Dec-12 19:49:31

Dani pulling faces again!

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:49:34

Oh, I loved that.

Think I've got something in my eye...

PuffPants Sat 15-Dec-12 19:49:42

Nice arms but chicken legs.

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 19:50:04

Oh, nothing, and DVO didn't act at all. Very disappointing, dance and song.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:50:30

Dani dont like Denise. She's too young to have a poker face.

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:51:15

The final would be a great final without Dvo as far as I'm concerned.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:51:19

no digerd it was pretty poor.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:51:23

Didn't like that either. The dress was like a sack which didn't help

PuffPants Sat 15-Dec-12 19:51:27

I hate how she smiles condescendingly at the judges when they praise her, as if to say "yes, thank you for noticing my brilliance".

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 19:52:07

Lisa first dance totally terrible. Terrible outfit.

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:52:09

Are the judges up to something,? it all seems a bit...

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 19:52:49

Sorry peeps am at behind you lot!

Yes James much much worse than Brendan.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:53:03

She has some unfortunate facial expressions to be sure

No WAY would anyone else have gotten nines and tens for that

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:53:11

Why does James always have to make excuses for things constantly?

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:53:32

chipsticks know what you mean.

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 19:54:07

Oh holy hell - a plane? I hate jolly capers.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:54:18

the Devo luv-in is getting a bit annoying.

CuthbertDibble Sat 15-Dec-12 19:54:28

DVO deserves to be in the final and she's always top of the training hours, she's worked really hard throughout this series.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:54:57

I agree the dress wasn't good, but I really liked it. I thought it was very tender and she had beautiful arms and feet. I'm a sucker for a good rumba though.

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 19:55:32

Dvo might deserve to be in the final but it would be a great final without her, in my house.

Love this

JustCallMeDavesHorse Sat 15-Dec-12 19:57:52

Terrible shorts... Is that a hoof??!

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 19:58:26

Wow. That was ambitious! And she pulled it off, imho.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 19:58:48

Why do the judges want Denise to win? They didn't even clap Kimberley.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 19:59:07

She had shorts like that the other week toi

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 19:59:45

Kimberley and Pasha, loved it.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 19:59:50

For once I have really, really please please please don't let Robin muck this up enjoyed all the music choices (I'm not counting Louis's foxtrot, because it obviously wasn't supposed to sound like that grin).

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 20:00:11

10s again shorely?

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 20:00:21

I really liked that charleston.

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 20:01:30

See her natural, unmitigated joy? That there's why DVO won't win.

I like Kimberley she comes across as a nice genuine person and so excited when scored

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 20:02:20

yep Enjoy - that is the chasm between them, isn't it?

SuffolkNWhat Sat 15-Dec-12 20:02:47

Grr they butchered my darling Wally

40 again for Nimble

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 20:03:45

Feck off James. Always an excuse. Do

Clever move, there's a part in Chicago if she wants it after this I bet.

PuffPants Sat 15-Dec-12 20:06:01

Wow, Lisa has finally made friends with the wardrobe department!

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 20:06:19

Really well-sung as well!

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 20:06:22

Yes agree that dani and Vincent are touchy feely especially during that hug whilst with tess after the second dance

MerryChristMoose Sat 15-Dec-12 20:07:07

I could watch Robin dance like that all day!

snowwombat Sat 15-Dec-12 20:07:14

That was great but I think Lisa knows that she is likely to be out this weekend

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 20:07:19

Lovely dress smile

sassytheFIRST Sat 15-Dec-12 20:07:25

Ooh yes, the wardens role beckons for Lisa I reckon.

tootssweet Sat 15-Dec-12 20:09:11

This is the first we have watched strictly for a while & I am enjoying it because I do think it is quite open for once. I know we all have our favourite but I like that there isn't a clear front runner <or is that just my own deluded opinion?>
I have really enjoyed the charlestons this year all pretty fab!

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 20:09:14

Actually enjoyed Lisa tonight.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 20:09:27

I thought this was a gossip free thread....

If I was (how old is dani? 17? 18?) I'd be embarrassing in my Vincent crush. Except I would literally crush him.

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 20:09:49

ps. Her last dance.

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 20:11:01

chipstick10 Sat 15-Dec-12 20:11:31

Didn't Dvo fall out with Sam Janus (her co star)and johnny Vaughan (co star)?

CuthbertDibble Sat 15-Dec-12 20:11:37

Love Bruno grin

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 20:11:48

Have all the pro males been taking Brucie's meds?

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 20:12:29

Digerd I wouldn't talk too soon.

I'm reckoning DVO and Louis in the DO.

Not saying its right, but Lisa is very popular never to have been in the DO before.

MordionAgenos Sat 15-Dec-12 20:12:52

@chub There is almost exactly 10 years between them. She is 23 he is 33.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 20:13:25

She's 23/24 isn't she? She's definitely older than my DSis.

FamiliesShareGerms Sat 15-Dec-12 20:13:35

Dani is 23 (!!!)

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 20:14:15

Vincent is not crush material. Crushable, yes. But how can anyone fancy him?!!

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 20:14:51

Really? She looks about 12. He's older than 32. He's about 40 isn't he?

FamiliesShareGerms Sat 15-Dec-12 20:15:29

Am enjoying imagining DVO sat watching Lisa's Chicago routine having to be restrained to stop her bursting onto the stage to show her how it's done

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 20:15:53

You'd fancy him doing that Argentine tango. Anyone would.

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sat 15-Dec-12 20:16:46

So if in the dance off:

Kimberley: Charleston
Louis: Foxtrot
Denise: Tango
Lisa: Smooth
Dani: AT (?)

Is that right?

MordionAgenos Sat 15-Dec-12 20:16:55

No, he's 33. That is his age.

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 20:17:05

My ps meant I enjoyed her last dance ( not her first). I hope she will go this week, but not banking on it.

FamiliesShareGerms Sat 15-Dec-12 20:17:08

Vincent is 33

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 20:17:17

DVO second dance was not good. Too much facial expression but little expression in the actual dance.

frankinsensible Sat 15-Dec-12 20:18:06

Someone reckons Louis will be in the dance off??? Madness. Looks like it will finally be Lisa with DVO but I don't rule out a big upset with Kimberley in instead of Lisa.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 20:18:24

yes I think that's right, Scatter. <impressed at your ability to sum up!>

PuffPants Sat 15-Dec-12 20:20:04

I was going to vote for the first time ever but can't connect on the mobile short number hmm

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 20:20:40

Anton really getting on my wick today. Stfu. Stfu. Stfu.

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 20:20:59

Frank yes it was me. It's never all about ability, if it were obvs Lisa would be in and go.

Also as I've said, whenever Beryl's front row, Nimbles votes tank even if she's top of the board. Bad strategic decision.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 20:22:51

is Beryl thingy Cole?

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 20:24:33

Yes Pan whenever the nations sweetheart pitches up, Kimberley's in the DO.

Gilberte Sat 15-Dec-12 20:25:04

Just curious why judges say DVO is the one to beat when Kimberley has been awarded full marks two weeks in a row.

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 20:25:43

Nimbles shorts!! Make her legs look chunky. Loved the dance.

frankinsensible Sat 15-Dec-12 20:25:55

Sorry enjoy missed that bit - who's Beryl? No way will Louis be in any dance-off and in fact he would have to do something seriously evil not to completely walk the final. It's a lot to do with the Olympics but also because he's gorgeous and loveable. I don't mind all that because I think he has danced beautifully (apart from the jive) and has been undermarked and had a load of nonsense about performance talked at him. Would also be overjoyed if Dani came in runner-up - talk about shocking undermarking!

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 20:27:14

Expression in the rumba is created by the movements of the upper body, back, shoulders, neck and head, more than the face, and that was lacking with DVO, and the dress didn't do her any favours either. Shame, I was expecting much more from her.

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 20:27:23

that VT thing was probably filmed last week/week before. And it's also a bit more evidence of the luvies luv-in.<cynical>

frankinsensible Sat 15-Dec-12 20:27:37

That's because Kimberly's legs are chunky (evil grin)

Pan Sat 15-Dec-12 20:28:21

shock

Gilberte Sat 15-Dec-12 20:31:25

And as for Vincent- yes I would!

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 15-Dec-12 20:31:55

OK, I've done the maths again.

Assuming Louis top in the votes, Lisa second and Denise bottom then we have two possibilities. If Dani is third with the public and Kimberley fourth then Denise and Lisa are in the dance off with 5 points each, Lisa goes home. If Kimberley gets more votes than Dani (unlikely IMO, but you never know, because those were very crowd pleasing dances) then Denise and Dani would be in the dance off and Dani goes home.

If Lisa is getting more votes than Louis then Denise and Dani will be in the dance off, no matter which way the other votes go.

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 20:32:52

Gilberte I agree. Kim gets the points but obvs the judges want DVO there in the final.

What's with darcy's nose?? Has she had surgery?

Horsemad Sat 15-Dec-12 20:32:55

Enjoyed tonight's prog - good music choices but dodgy singing sadly grin

I was dancing round my kitchen so music MUST have been good!! grin

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 20:34:12

Horsemad - I agree. Really good songs. But terrible singing.

chocolatespiders Sat 15-Dec-12 20:34:56

DVO - desperate pleading all over Twitter for votes

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 15-Dec-12 20:35:03

Frank not saying its right just what I have a hunch on. Although Louis doesn't do it for me.

BTW I correctly predicted the Masterchef result this week so I'm on a roll wink

Bakingnovice Sat 15-Dec-12 20:36:06

Omg tess just pronounced raucous as rautious. Cringe.

SucksToBeMe Sat 15-Dec-12 20:36:38

Danni and Vincent to win, two wonderful people who take a lot of stick about their height and take it so well. DVO seems to have lost quite a bit of weight lately?
I saw Brucie in budgens thursday night. He is taller than I imagined.

AmIthatTinselly Sat 15-Dec-12 20:37:47

Am very nervous about the result tonight. Would hate Kimberley and more importantly Pasha to end up in the dance off with another better dancer, if Lisa gets the votes.

I even though DVO was good tonight, although I'm still not a fan of either her or twatty James, but I enjoyed it. And she did do the hand/phone thing after her second dance, so annoyed me on cue.

Will be very, very interesting result and I can't wait - will know in about 3 hours

TheDailyWail Sat 15-Dec-12 20:38:50

It is time for Lisa to leave now. Please don't let Dani be in the dance off. I love her!

frankinsensible Sat 15-Dec-12 20:38:52

'On a roll' - good pun enjoy!

frankinsensible Sat 15-Dec-12 20:39:56

AmIthatTinselly Sat 15-Dec-12 20:40:39

chocolatespiders Sat 15-Dec-12 20:41:51

spoiler thread??? really

frankinsensible Sat 15-Dec-12 20:43:14

Didn't someone say that last week and it turned out the thread was deleted?

TheSilverPussycat Sat 15-Dec-12 20:45:53

What did Bruno say exactly? (I may or may not have rewound on Sky to no avail blush )

I quite fancy Vincent, I must say. Am 27 years older than him, though sad

pinkteddy Sat 15-Dec-12 20:46:07

No spoiler thread is there every week. Who has everyone voted for tonight?

dd voted for Dani, I voted for Louis.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 20:46:44

I voted Kimberley

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 15-Dec-12 20:49:06

Spoiler thread is there every week except the final, result gets posted sometime between 10 and 11.

sassytheFIRST Sat 15-Dec-12 20:49:17

We voted for Louis - dds' choice.

I hope to see Lisa and anyone in dance off- surely the judges' scores will influence that placing. Then she can rightly go home.

Don't know who I want to win. Except DVO, obviously wink

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Sat 15-Dec-12 20:51:40

I voted Kimberley, DD voted Lisa (DD is 6 and loves Lisa)

CuthbertDibble Sat 15-Dec-12 20:58:09

Bruno said "fanny club".

Len had said to Lisa that when she kicked her leg high he had seen her 'razzle dazzle', audience laughed a lot, Bruce said 'that must be your fan club' (or something) and then Bruno said 'it's your fanny club'.

RedTinsel Sat 15-Dec-12 21:01:55

I'm too thick to work out the Maths on who'll b in the DO. Based on tonight it should be Lisa vs Louis. But it might be DVO again No way can Lisa out dance any of them do she's a goner

smile at everyone wheeling out the rugrats except for Louis and Aston! I think I can guess which demographic he's targeting.

yesbutnobut Sat 15-Dec-12 21:04:47

Ladyisabella I'm so impressed by your maths! But I really hope Lisa goes home - that must be the fairest result. I've even voted DVO tonight to try to stop Lisa staying in the competition! Dani, Louis or Kimberley to win - I don't mind which (as long as not Lisa) smile

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 21:05:38

What was the final order?

pinkteddy Sat 15-Dec-12 21:10:57

Leader Board:

Kimberley
Denise
Dani
Louis
Lisa

awaynboilyurheid Sat 15-Dec-12 21:14:13

Loved kimberly's charlston tonight but poor Louis the jive was not his dance feel sorry for flav but he hopefully pulled it back time for lisa to go she was good at the start but the rest are way ahead now

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 15-Dec-12 21:21:18

Dani or Louis are the way to vote if you want to see Lisa in the dance off - I think DVO is surely destined for the dance off with 4 + 1 points - it's just a question of who's there with her - Lisa smile or Dani sad

digerd Sat 15-Dec-12 21:37:38

Craig was crying with laughter over something in Lisa's first dance. Did I miss something ?

chocolatespiders Sat 15-Dec-12 21:43:24

I voted for Louis

PuffPants Sat 15-Dec-12 21:45:00

It was the way she landed on the floor and then either couldn't get up or was waiting for Robin to pick her up. Whether it was, it didn't look very elegant and was verging on pantomime.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 21:51:08

In some ways it would be worth having Kimberley and Denise in the dance off - the judges would have to pick Kimberley wouldn't they?

tazzle22 Sat 15-Dec-12 21:54:30

I know it should not influence the voting and once should go on the dnacing....... but touting for votes on twitter seems just soooo eermm "inelegant" hmm..... kinda puts me off the folk that do it.

Much as though Lisa embodies what I like to see in a dancer.... ie enjoying it ....... she is technically not as good as the others and made mistakes tonight.

I love though that she has shown that one does not need to be thin to be able to dance grin and it is a definately a great standard this series and a close call for the winner......... could all hinge on the show dance !

PuffPants Sat 15-Dec-12 21:57:48

I would love to see Kimberley and Denise in the dance-off. I like Kimberley but this is the only scenario in which DVO would leave.

Chubfuddler Sat 15-Dec-12 22:00:44

I've looked on digital spy but can't see anything. Does the spoiler appear on the forum section or on the main site?

chocolatespiders Sat 15-Dec-12 22:06:34

I looked to blush

There is SCD thread and todays date. Think it may be to early yet as they all seem to have placed bets at what time the spoiler comes in.

MagicLlama Sat 15-Dec-12 22:33:01

There has been some spoilers on the Digital Spy thread but there are conficting reports about who was in dance off and who is out shock

MagicLlama Sat 15-Dec-12 22:34:37

conficting! I mean conflicting too much wine

threesocksfullofchocs Sat 15-Dec-12 22:43:31

I would love Kimberly and DVO ot be in the dance off.
only cos I would like to see who the judges would save.

chocolatespiders Sat 15-Dec-12 23:13:30

Surely they would have to save Kimberley as she has had the highest scores.

TheSilverPussycat Sat 15-Dec-12 23:16:25

Thamks, Cuthbert Dibble grin

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 15-Dec-12 23:48:33

Hilarious carnage on Digital Spy (look for forums/TV/Strictly and then the thread marked "** official spoiler thread *") with fake spoilers and counter spoilers, but they seem to have settled on a definitive result now. Do not trust Twitter, which is all over the shop.

I don't think the judges are obliged to go for whoever got the highest mark the first time round in the DO. If the results were reasonably close the first time around then they could blather about "improved energy levels, and dancer X really stepped it up while dancer Y's nerves got to them". Obviously there are some cases where it's not plausible to do that, but if you're talking about a 2 point difference in score then sure, toss a coin.

poorbuthappy Sun 16-Dec-12 00:49:09

am watching now cos been in work.
Craig laughing at Lisa's floor spin is awful to watch.
She should go home because she is the worst dancer.
But Craig should watch himself back and be ashamed of himself. He looks like he is taking the piss out of her because she'shes overweight .

Chubfuddler Sun 16-Dec-12 03:12:31

Well I hope they are right on digital spy.

As an aside I cannot understand the massive Louis love, he's not very good, nowhere near as good as DVO or Kimberley. The male slebs have been pretty weak this year, I wonder if they wanted a female winner as its been a while.

digerd Sun 16-Dec-12 08:08:15

Lisa's pantomime stint and Craig's reaction could get her massive sympathy votes. Dani's costumes suited her much better last night imo. Louis did a lovely Foxtrot, but his facial expression was a bit peculiar, and he held his chin up too high - just being picky. I was impressed by Lisa's high kick, but thank goodness I didn't see her "razzle dazzle" !

MordionAgenos Sun 16-Dec-12 08:28:54

@chub it's only been one year! Kara won in 2010, that drummer won last year.

I think they may well have thought Vaughany would do well (and to be fair he didn't do badly).

The thing about Louis is - I agree with you, he isn't that good at dancing. All the remaining girls are better. But Flav is a great choreographer. And Louis really is a hero. WhAt he achieved in Beijing was amazing. Off the back of very very little funding. Way has has achieved in subsequent world and European champs has been amazing. Because of his performance in Beijing, gymnastics got more finding, more attention and look what happened - the won the European team champs, they got bronze in the lympics (And actually deserved and were robbed of silver). From nothing, practically. I have a friend (my age - mid 40s) who was a British gymnastics international until injury crocked him at age 19. After he was Ble to walk again, he was a coach for years. He cannot speak highly enough of Louis for what he has done for his sport. I think a lot of gymnastics fans, long term and casual, are voting for him because, you know, he really deserves recognition for what he has done for the whole sport.

But, he's not as good at dancing as the remaining women (if the spoiler is true). Ad it's also a bit spurious to say he doesn't have a performance background - while he doesn't have to emote, he is certainly used to stepping out in front of packed arenas and performing.

It won't kill me if he wins. I like Flav, she was robbed the year Alesha won. And I have so much respect for Louis. But he's the worst dancer left now. But him winning would be less of a travesty than Goughy, Chris Hollins, Alesha, or That drummer. Or Tom Chambers.

Pan Sun 16-Dec-12 08:43:15

Can we stop making 'spoiler refs.' please? The result isn't nailed on at all, but we can now make a pretty good guess from what has been said, which isn't what is wanted.

Pan Sun 16-Dec-12 08:44:43

yes digerd, it looked more like a tango neck and chin.

AndiMac Sun 16-Dec-12 08:59:34

Very cross with that obvious spoiler information Mordion! Some of us like the surprise on Sundays! angry

chocolatespiders Sun 16-Dec-12 09:04:34

I liked it when Tess said to Louis you are the only one with no stage performing back ground which really nails it for me.

The Olympic stuff is also a massive influence for me because he and the other gymnasts were amazing.

knottyhair Sun 16-Dec-12 09:10:10

Thanks for giving away the result Mordion angry.

OodKingWenceslas Sun 16-Dec-12 09:13:25

Thanks for the warning, just scanned v quickly past that post & didn't read it <phew>

Pan Sun 16-Dec-12 09:16:48

Well, Mordion's big clue conflicts I think with Chubfuddler's big clue. Unless I've read it all upside down. Lots of us don't want to be reading it all anyway.

Chubfuddler Sun 16-Dec-12 09:37:49

I wasn't giving any kind of spoiler clue.

digerd Sun 16-Dec-12 09:46:43

I read mordion's post, but couldn't come to any conclusion < dim?>. I was more indignant at the mention to "that drummer"last year - HARRY - I loved him. < killer look>

digerd Sun 16-Dec-12 09:47:40

I don't want to know, as love the suspense for tonight.

Pan Sun 16-Dec-12 09:49:54

Chub - you expressed an opinion as to who should go ( which lots of us do), but then later indicated you hoped the spy thingy was correct. Which shorely gives it away?

btw, would anyone know anything about the timing of the final? I have (very stupidly) organised a posse to see a friend of mine's band at a venue in town. I had hoped/assumed the final would be over...if it isn't...it could be a disaaaaster dahlinks!
anyone know about tv timings for next Sat at all??

knottyhair Sun 16-Dec-12 09:55:50

The final is 6.30-7.55, results show 8.50-10.05. I expect to be sofa bound with my 5 day old baby girl (having her tomorrow morning!). Hope you get to watch it Pan.

OodKingWenceslas Sun 16-Dec-12 09:57:01

Ooh good luck knotty smile

digerd Sun 16-Dec-12 10:04:15

Ooh, what a lovely diversion to something really beautiful - good luck, KNOTTY

Pan Sun 16-Dec-12 10:04:57

beat wishes knotty!

Bugger. Bugger. 10.05pm finish. Town is 10 mins away. She'll be busy blasting her saxophone. But to miss her first half would be wrong. Bugger.

Pan Sun 16-Dec-12 10:05:51

and best wishes as well.

I wonder how they will keep up the 'illusion' of the Sunday night show when they follow tonight's broadcast with SPOTY and I am assuming that Louis will be in the audience.
I am enjoying this series - and I really can't call the winner especially as it'll be down to the public and not the judges.

ppeatfruit Sun 16-Dec-12 10:10:43

andimac thanks for the article I'm a LITTLE bit less hmm about DVO now she's still not that likeable though.

OMG Bruce must've had shots to have recovered so quickly grin

familiesshare It's not just you about Dave Arch IMO the music is sometimes VERY iffy either it's the technical 'balancing' or it may be he can't sing very well! If it's him that tried and failed to DO a Michael Bubble song grin

Chubfuddler IMO Darcey does NOT want DVO to win!. BTW the judges looked awkward and cold (Darcey esp.) standing in front of that screen.

digerd Sun 16-Dec-12 10:11:24

Even more confused now.

Pan Sun 16-Dec-12 10:12:45

digerd - time for some of that ginko stuff?grin

digerd Sun 16-Dec-12 10:18:11

Yes., indeed Pan! Just taken my 1st of 3 daily doses. Don't know if I'm a lost cause, though < resigned face>

knottyhair Sun 16-Dec-12 10:19:18

Thanks everyone! Pan, sorry you'll miss some of the final - gutted!
I thought Dave Arch is the band leader/conductor, and there are about 3-4 vocalists? I agree though, some of the vocals have been dodgy this year, especially the Gotye song last night.

sassytheFIRST Sun 16-Dec-12 10:21:27

Lovely, knotty! Good luck.

Re Brucie, he may need pensioning off and be a general embarrassment but what a trooper to still turn out last night. They don't make em like that any more.

ppeatfruit Sun 16-Dec-12 10:28:35

Gingko DOES work Digerd It's best to take it 3 times a day (sorry to sound a bit bossy but I've studied my health for ages grin you need a good quality one (not packed out with fillers IYKWIM) . Maybe also take some omega 3 supplements that's good for brain power.

digerd Sun 16-Dec-12 10:30:53

Brucie may be a bit of a " has been "now, but reading about him reveals he is and was always an intrepid trooper from being a child. Even appeared at the Windmill Theatre.

ppeatfruit Sun 16-Dec-12 10:35:22

Oh yes I'll say this for Bruce Forsyth he's a real pro!! Shame he's now past his best and obviously doesn't want to admit it.

digerd Sun 16-Dec-12 10:36:18

PPeat, Thanks, I've been remiss with my Omega 3, must remember to take them daily too.

MsInterpret Sun 16-Dec-12 10:42:02

Pan you can watch online up to 2hrs after start time on live streaming on t'internet. Not sure if that helps.

I v often watch on iPlayer in middle of night when up BFing which is nice bc get to focus totally in it, without DCs/DH/other random family members giving their tuppence worth as I had to put up with last night (angry). You have that delight to come this week knotty. Congratulations by the way!

Morning all. I haven't caught up but please can someone pm me with the results because MIL will be all over me like a rash later to know. Thank you.

Horsemad Sun 16-Dec-12 10:48:18

Whilst Brucie has come in for a lot of stick this series, I think we HAVE to acknowledge his commitment to his job. Plenty of people I know would have gone sick at the slightest sniffle, so well done Sir Bruce for carrying on.

RedTinsel Sun 16-Dec-12 10:50:45

Thanks for the warning on the spoiler hints, was just about to catch up in all the comments from night. Really not fair to post comments about the spoiler.

Another presenting fail from Tess. Lisa is flailing around on the floor, robin hoiking her up like a sack of spuds, CRH is crying laughing and Tess doesn't even mention it.

PTA Sun 16-Dec-12 11:03:13

I really didn't like dvo's rumba. She and James are too old to do the "first love" thing with her in virginal white, it was too creepy. James did do a very nice rumba with Cherie Lunghi a few years back, she wore white too but tight with cut-outs and it looked great.

Could the wardrobe department not do something about Lisa's boobs? They bounced everywhere! Being very big boobed (and waist, hips, bum and thighs!!) Myself, I can appreciate the challenge but I don't think it did her any favours to see her heaving bosom bouncing about like that.

Yes, as a very large lady myself I do appreciate Lisa as a role model for all those who want to dance. However, I just feel that there is too much comedy in all the routines, playing to to stereotype that all fatties are funny. We're not! Sure, use the comedy in the Charelston, some of the Latin dances but the bits where she was lifiting Robin, not on! IMHO.

Ok, rant over!

digerd Sun 16-Dec-12 11:29:44

I remember Cherie Lunghi and she was brilliant. Obviously trained as a dancer, but she was older - 56?- Very good rumba, gorgeous legs and feet, good body and hip ( bum) movement and lovely arms and hands.
Just found it on Google from SCD 2008 -you tube

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney Sun 16-Dec-12 11:47:25

Have we had any of the traditionally shaped rumba dresses this year? I remember Cherie's, it was lovely.

Chubfuddler Sun 16-Dec-12 11:53:28

Pan do stop playing thread prefect.
