Thanks Andi

Marking my place

Horsemad Sat 08-Dec-12 11:39:59

Gah! I missed the end of Saturday Kitchen! Was it Food Heaven or Hell for Brendan, anyone know?

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 12:07:30

I missed if too!

ceebeegeebies Sat 08-Dec-12 12:36:59

marking my place smile although I am more of a lurker than a poster wink

Horsemad Sat 08-Dec-12 13:53:26

Aaarrghhh, it's a dis-aarst- arr!! DH has just informed me we are out this evening! I'll have to record it sad and watch it before bed.

AndiMac Sat 08-Dec-12 14:06:25

I'm out this evening too, so will catch up the thread at some point, hopefully before tomorrow's dance-off.

I just watched DVO fit herself into a suitcase from Thursday's It Takes Two. I have new found respect for her, that was hilarious!

Yama Sat 08-Dec-12 14:11:12

They (judges and professional dancers) were all on a CBBC programme the other day. The one where they say what life was like when they were 12.

Craig sang a whole verse of Dancing Queen and Bruno loved the Rolling Stones. Go figure.

Iain (of Iain and Hacker) narrates.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 08-Dec-12 14:21:07

Marking place and looking forward to tonight!

AmIthatTinselly Sat 08-Dec-12 15:40:23

Also marking my place for tonight. I do like to watch, MN and DS at the same time.

Think it might be Lisa's time to go tonight. As long as the lovely Pasha stays in for another week

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 16:59:09

No no Tinselly, it's already decided that Nicky is going tonight. 'Tis my belief that Lisa will stay in for the Final but not everyone agrees. It's also my belief that you only have two more weeks of Pasha-passion so make the most of it. grin

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 17:08:25

I too think Lisa's fan club will keep her in, but Nicky is doing some lovely lifts in his American Smooth - and Fred Astaire type moves.

AmIthatTinselly Sat 08-Dec-12 17:20:32

I wouldn't mind if Nicky went tonight, as I am not keen on Karen "fingers twinkling along the phone number while tilting her head" Hauer.

I am also getting ready to explode when DVO does the hand/phone thing

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 17:26:22

digerd, I think it's too late for Nicky to make up for the lack of public support really. The only way he could survive would be if Lisa did end up on the dance off in which case the judges would probably go with Nicky. It's going to be fascinating to see who else is in the dance-off with him - I'm expecting it to be Kimberley but I think everyone except Louis will be sick with nerves waiting for the results.

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 17:28:50

Karen is a bit odd isn't she? I think Nicky would be better off going really before she tries to stuff him into a suitcase!

Thanks AndiMac.

I don't know when I'll catch up. Tomorrow we are taking the dcs to see Father Christmas an hour and a half away. I think I know what I'll be doing while they're at school on Monday! grin

I think Lisa will go tonight or Kimberley but I hope it's Nicky.

MsInterpret Sat 08-Dec-12 17:53:31

I wish Lisa would go tonight - def seems the weakest dancer now to me. But I think it'll be Kimble & Nicky in the dance off so probably Nicky but it might be tight!

Would like it iif there was a real shocking turn-up for the books though!

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 18:04:23

Agree, and can't stop laughing at Karen and the suitcase remark ! Think you're right there too < grinning face>. Love it, still laughing

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 18:07:58

digerd grin Definitely got that vibe about her...expect a complete meltdown if they go out.

TheOriginalPan Sat 08-Dec-12 18:48:52

<Polishes cubans..>

AmIthatTinselly Sat 08-Dec-12 18:51:19

ooh, now I really hope Nicky goes, to see Karen's face

<yes I'm evil>

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 18:53:17

Less than 10 mins to go. Just eating my dinner before it starts. I also saw DVO folding herself into that suitcase and James dragging the case off with a bit of her hair sticking out. Could visualise Karen doing that with Nicky.
Don't know if it's an act, as seems a bit OTT to me.

TheOriginalPan Sat 08-Dec-12 18:55:14

Brucie's suit is

Evening. Here we are again-it comes around very quickly doesn't it?

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 18:56:13

Just put it on and it's already started, but Brucie and eating, doesn't mix

LineysChristmasNamey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:00:16

God. Brucie. Just ... cease to exist.

Ooh DVO on first. shock

AmIthatTinselly Sat 08-Dec-12 19:00:21

Brucie and anything doesn't mix grin

Oh good, it's DVO hmm

I wonder how many times she'll say how hard it is, or how nervous she is.

Ooh was that an error?

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 08-Dec-12 19:02:13

Bloody hell she's good isn't she?

TheOriginalPan Sat 08-Dec-12 19:02:40

The hairdo didn't survive. grin

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:02:49

Her jive part was very good, quickstep less so.

AmIthatTinselly Sat 08-Dec-12 19:03:32

I thought it was good, even though I'm not a fan

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 19:04:14

She's very good, like her big girl pants grin

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 08-Dec-12 19:11:43

Lisa looks very nervous I think.

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 08-Dec-12 19:11:59

Less so now [fgirn]

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 19:12:57

Lisas like a christmas tree on a spin cycle.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 19:13:26

Bruce is really pissing me off today [needs to retire emoticon]

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:14:40

I think the tango was good, but she messed up a bit in the cha cha didn't she, which was a shame.

But obviously, listening to the judges, what do I know?

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 08-Dec-12 19:15:36

Letsus you're channelling Len obviously

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:17:17

I have the Guardian SCD live blog open on another tab!

Hopefully Len will think what I'm thinking when it comes to Louis and Flavia's dance!

AmIthatTinselly Sat 08-Dec-12 19:17:25

Yes, think it is time up for Lisa.

And bloody DVO did her stupid phone/hand thing, which really pisses me off

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 19:18:49

Anyone know what Bruno gave Lisa? Dd2 is missing vital info from her strictly notebook and is in tears

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:19:23

Well, maybe not exactly what I'm thinking grin

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:19:49

She got an 8 off Bruno.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 19:21:47

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:22:19

TheOriginalPan Sat 08-Dec-12 19:23:13

yeah, we're not the X-Factor! Jeez.

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 19:23:38

That was cruel of Craig, uncalled for.

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:23:38

Hmmm, don't think I particularly liked Nicky's dance. It wasn't bad but it was a bit blah for me.

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 19:24:18

I wish Bruce would keep his opinions to himself when the judges comment.

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:24:20

Yy re Craig. What a way to get people to vote for him hmm

coffeeinbed Sat 08-Dec-12 19:25:04

His voice is annoying...

coffeeinbed Sat 08-Dec-12 19:25:24

Nicky's voice that is.

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:25:59

Did Nicky actually just acknowledge Karen? Must be nearly Christmas.

AmIthatTinselly Sat 08-Dec-12 19:27:01

I missed what Craig said - what was it

And Karen, again with the head tilt and the fucking fingers angry

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 19:29:26

Please someone stop Bruce talking, Tess ad libbing and the crowd booing

Doinmummy Sat 08-Dec-12 19:30:24

Danni's good tonight

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 19:31:01

I liked that grin

TheOriginalPan Sat 08-Dec-12 19:31:20

Very very cute!

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:31:22

Craig thought Nicky's dance wasn't terribly good and he said something along the lines that he'll be seeing it for a second time.

Dani and Vincent were very very good. I really enjoyed that.

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 19:31:45

Hmm - not good. She did make mistakes, and her cha cha looked messy
Nicky, disappointing dance, music, not what I saw during training with no music which was unsuitable for the american smooth. He did dance on bent knees. In the bottom 2 again
Dani good music for both dances, quickstep much better than DVO, and Charleston suits her too and excellently done - best dance so far.

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 19:31:46

Dani and Vincent, fantastic. I'd love them to win.

SuffolkNWhat Sat 08-Dec-12 19:31:55

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 19:32:05

vincent is a bloody little genius!

Doinmummy Sat 08-Dec-12 19:33:12

I wish Lisa would stop doing that awful thing with her tongue....I think she thinks it looks 'cute'

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:35:19

Louis now. Nervous. Me, not him.

forehead Sat 08-Dec-12 19:35:50

Loved Vincent and Dani.

Gigondas Sat 08-Dec-12 19:35:53

Me too letus- I want him to do well.

forehead Sat 08-Dec-12 19:36:45

Hope Nicky goes tonight.

Loved danni and vincent

lucjam Sat 08-Dec-12 19:38:34

Dani and Vincent were amazing! Best so far.

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:39:05

Well, I liked it. A lot.

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 19:39:28

Well done Louis, especially the rumba

lucjam Sat 08-Dec-12 19:39:32

Went to a Jacqueline Wilson exhibition today and saw pics of Dani when she was 12, so funny I forgot how she looked at the begining of TB.

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 19:39:36

I love Flavia but Louis leaves me cold.

chocolatespiders Sat 08-Dec-12 19:39:37

TheOriginalPan Sat 08-Dec-12 19:39:52

Loved loved the move from one to another.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 19:40:03

I liked that one too, complete opposite of Danis!

Jingleallthejay Sat 08-Dec-12 19:42:25

thanks andi wont be back till tomorrow dd has nabbed the telly for a Mcfly special she is swooning andgrinning like a loon

lucjam Sat 08-Dec-12 19:42:46

coco I know what you mean, I put it down to nerves, but he does seem a bit deviod of personality :-(

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:42:59

Hurrah for 9s and a 10!!! Very nice rumba arms grin

Chubfuddler Sat 08-Dec-12 19:43:22

I really liked nicky. Oops. But danni best so far.

Jingleallthejay Sat 08-Dec-12 19:44:07

oh i am mrs jay in a christmas name just incase anybody cared wanted to know grin

TheOriginalPan Sat 08-Dec-12 19:44:09

hoping for a good one from nimble.

Chubfuddler Sat 08-Dec-12 19:45:03

I don't want to like Kimberley but I do.

Bakingnovice Sat 08-Dec-12 19:45:20

Feck off brucie. He's just terrible this week.

Didn't like dvos winks and face pulling. Underwhelming dance. Always am excuse. Nice dress though.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 19:46:14

I like that she tries hard & has improved etc but she doesn't interest me. Think she deserves to stay more than DVO though

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:46:33

Am envy of Kimberley's back and legs.

Loved that dance.

TheOriginalPan Sat 08-Dec-12 19:46:38

wasn't that utterly fabulous? The dress, the spirit, the timing - everything.

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 19:47:12

Loved that too.

forehead Sat 08-Dec-12 19:47:13

Kimberley was great

TheOriginalPan Sat 08-Dec-12 19:47:17

snice Sat 08-Dec-12 19:47:25

she looked gorgeous

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 08-Dec-12 19:47:33

Kim's dress looks like a merkin.

Great dance though, I foresee 10's

Chubfuddler Sat 08-Dec-12 19:47:34

I want her or dani to win. Anyone but DVO.

Pascha has grown on me I think he is lovely

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 19:48:05

DVO in 4th then? She won't like that!

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 19:48:08

4 10's I think.

forehead Sat 08-Dec-12 19:48:11

She is gorgeous.

Chubfuddler Sat 08-Dec-12 19:48:44

She has a sense of humour about herself doesn't she? Quite winning.

MagicLlama Sat 08-Dec-12 19:48:45

That was brilliant. I loved every second of that grin

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 19:48:51

wow kimberly and pascha smashed it and I'm not usually a fan!

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 19:48:52

I love Pacha, he's so nice

Chubfuddler Sat 08-Dec-12 19:49:04

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 19:49:35

Very Showbizzy performance, and even Len has given 10 for Kimberly

thenightsky Sat 08-Dec-12 19:49:56

woooow... 4 x 10... DVO is gonna be annoyed.

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 19:50:44

DVO could be in trouble...

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 19:50:51

I can see DVO in the dance off shock

forehead Sat 08-Dec-12 19:51:29

I really hate to be nasty, but i am glad DVO is not on top.

forehead Sat 08-Dec-12 19:52:43

I reckon it will be Nicky and DVO in the dance off

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 19:54:21

Prime example of everything coming together - dancing, performance, music.

A well-deserved 4 10s!

Nicky needs to go. Not sure who'll be in bottom two with him. Don't think it'll be Lisa as apparently she does get a lot of votes. Perhaps it'll be DvO.

PuffPants Sat 08-Dec-12 19:54:31

DVO is the dance off, no doubt. Shell go through, of course, but still smile

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 19:54:49

It has to be Lisa and Nicky to go.
Love this song on TV now. First Time Ever I saw Your face < big sigh>

PuffPants Sat 08-Dec-12 19:56:59

Nicky's dance was weird. Fast footwork but utterly bizarre posture.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 20:00:53

Fingers crossed Nicky pulls some magic out then!

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 20:01:07

How can he have got to this stage and still have posture that bad? Crazy.

thenightsky Sat 08-Dec-12 20:03:40

Nicky suffers from being a charisma free zone. He will be in tthe dance off.

PuffPants Sat 08-Dec-12 20:04:41

That's what we were saying Frank. It's not like his shoulder was a bit droopy or his knees a bit bent, it was the entire thing. As if he usually walks with sticks but decided to dance without! How can she never have told him about it? He was doing it in the rehearsal too. I don't think well be seeing Karen next year - bad teaching.

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 20:07:03

DVO did not sparkle like Danni and Kimberley. There has always been something missing in her performance for me.

Bakingnovice Sat 08-Dec-12 20:07:38

Nickys posture!!! Oh dear. Thought dani looked half naked and the back was v v low. DVO will be panicking.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Sat 08-Dec-12 20:07:51

Nicky and Lisa for the dance off I think.

frankinsensible Sat 08-Dec-12 20:09:06

Perhaps because they don't talk to each other...theories have been raging about the odd atmosphere between them (well raging on MN anyway smile And yet he seems so committed and intense about it. Thought Craig was horrible tho' - no need to say that thing about seeing the dance again.

chicaguapa Sat 08-Dec-12 20:10:59

Anyone else see Louis & Flavia doing the Dirty Dancing routine again and completely smashing the final? With the progress he's made since then, they've got to be seriously considering doing it again!

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 20:15:11

I voted for the first time tonight , Dani and Kimberley, I couldn't decide who I liked best confused.

I have to apologise on behalf of DD, she voted for Nicky, "because he's Irish".

LetUsPrey Sat 08-Dec-12 20:16:09

Didn't Dani say on ITT that if they get to the semi-final, they're doing the Argentine Tango?

Was it said somewhere that Flavia was saving the AT for the semi-final/final if they got there?

Is there potential to see a Flavia/Vincent AT-off next week?

Can I possibly ask any more questions????

MrsJamin Sat 08-Dec-12 20:23:32

Loved how tonight's scores set the cat amongst the pigeons! I think DVO and nicky will be in dance off as Lisa has good public support IMHO. Would love to see Kimberley, Louis and Dani in the final, it would be anyone's to win! Already starting to feel sad that SCD is nearly coming to an end for the series.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 20:23:56

Flavia & Vincent said on R2 blush a couple of weeks ago they wanted a AT-off in the final.

FamiliesShareGerms Sat 08-Dec-12 20:24:01

Nicky was terrible tonight - surely him to go? Lisa is already booked for the tour, so if she is up against Nicky is the dance off, my money would still be on Lisa to go through

chicaguapa Sat 08-Dec-12 20:34:44

If it's true that DVO comes bottom in the viewers' vote every week, she'll only have 4 points (3+1). Lisa would have to come second bottom to be in the dance-off (2+2) and Nicky would have to come at least third to escape it. I think Lisa has more support than that so I see it being a DVO & Nicky dance-off.

digerd Sat 08-Dec-12 20:52:49

In the dance off last week Nicky improved so much, don't know what happened to his american smooth - unsuitable too fast music and apart from the lifts, hideous bent knees which ruined his posture and there was no gliding across the floor, or smoothness at all. Didn't recognise what the other dance was supposed to be.

pinkteddy Sat 08-Dec-12 22:04:04

Loved both Dani and Louis this week. I really like Lisa but her dance wasn't very good this week - couple of mistakes in the cha cha which ought to have been her best dance. I think she should be in the dance off but she may escape due to having a lot of public support. Nicky will definitely be in the dance off IMO and could well go tonight.

RedTinsel Sat 08-Dec-12 22:32:32

Here you all are. I was all confused because the other thread wasn't moving!
Dani was brilliant, Louis and Kimberley Slightly less brilliant, But still fab.
DVO, obviously good.
Nicky and Lisa have reached their peak. And <gasp> Nicky even had his arm round Karen in the Tess pit for a moment. < grin at Karen putting Nicky in the suitcase>
I think Nicky vs DVO in the dance off. DVO will obviously ace it and Nicky to go. I'd love a Vincent vs Flavia AT-off in the final.

awaynboilyurheid Sat 08-Dec-12 22:34:20

Lisa once again not good this week but judges like her, Nicky has improved but he will probs be in dance off and because of his attitude to karen I wont miss him, loved Loius and Flavia thought they deserved 4x10's what a lift! one of the best lifts on strictly but Craig doesnt fancy like him ,liked Kimberly's dance but didnt think it better than louis and Flavia and really enjoyed Vincent and Danni too was delighted for Vincent, hope they get through too, a great show

RedTinsel Sat 08-Dec-12 22:44:18

I want Flavia to win. If i have enough to drink next week, I might tweet Louis and tell him to buck his ideas up.

cocolepew Sat 08-Dec-12 22:55:14

The result is on Digital Spy now.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 08-Dec-12 23:20:57

Am sooo tempted every week but I like to find out visually. Wish they'd go back to the late Sat show instead of faking a Sunday one

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sat 08-Dec-12 23:48:49

Just watched Harry McFly's dance with Chelsee from the McFly show. I am officially Over Louis (and Dani, and the other ones). Cannot link right now, but will in a mo. dear heavens that boy could dance.

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 00:17:04

Flavia v Vincent would be a cool final and a just one - they are the best two pairs. Kimberley has massively upped the game tho' - if she and DVO end up before the judges next week they are going to be really torn over who to let go.

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sun 09-Dec-12 00:44:42

I can't find the result. Could I have a pm please Coco? I am out tonight.

I can't find the result either. Would love a PM if anyone did.

Thanks MagicLlama.

Sparkling I've sent it to you.

LetUsPrey Sun 09-Dec-12 08:50:17

I've PMed you both too! Took a while because I was double-checking I was PMing the spoiler to the right posterssmile

Thanks both x

Thanks LetUsPrey. smile

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 09:17:21

I forgot about Harry and Chelsee they were ace and that clip made me smile.

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 09:44:25

I enjoy the Heidi Stephens liveblog on the Guardian - she's very funny. I missed last night's so reading this thread and the blog are great for catching up.

Love her comment about Tess's dress:
"In honour of this week’s Fusion theme, Tess is wearing a dress that combines a horrible skin infection with a support bandage." grin

Tell me, did the camera catch DVO's face when Kimberley got 4 10s? wink

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 09:58:27

Hi Fids!

No I don't think the camera caught up with Devo - she was skulking bitterly somewhere at the back.

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 10:09:35

Wotcha Pan grin
Shame about DVO. Did she bang on about how Hard it was this week, and now Nervous she was?

digerd, I think, wrote about how she doesn't sparkle, that there's something missing. Agree, technically she is competent but it comes across as more clinical than wowser.

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 10:13:15

Not a big fan of DVO.

I heard some reliable gossip about who is shagging who and was a bit ewwww. Not sure if its been discussed here though.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 10:13:42

She was nervous about how hard and difficult it all

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 10:16:14

I think James might be shagging Ola. Just something I heard.

And Tess is definitely not shagging the costumer. Unless she's very bad at it.

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 10:17:00

Apparently she isn't the only one he is shagging.

Ooh PM please Halle. grin

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 10:22:17

HARRY - Gorgeous - loved his tango.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 10:23:21

HalleLouja - you're going to be busy PMing now! One for me please?

OodKingWenceslas Sun 09-Dec-12 10:23:58

Ooh Halle don't taunt us pm please

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 10:24:35

I am working so can't PM everyone but am happy to PM a volunteer who can take on the mantle. It comes from someone who has a friend who works on the show. So its close to the source.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 10:25:06

I'll be the hub.

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 10:25:26

Not sure if I did a covert clue if that would be ok. Like they do in sleb twaddle. Not that I love it over there.

It's a deal Halle

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 10:26:46

Have pm-ed original.

Oooh <awaits scandalous gossip>

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 10:29:56

<snort> at PanTheHub. All very Guys and Dolls grin

PM me please, whoever's The Hub.

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 10:30:43

Ooh gossip. Spill.
Never liked him much, I think I like DVO a lot more if she was with someone else like Ian

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 10:30:54

As I say its not been verified but makes sense when you think about it.

OodKingWenceslas Sun 09-Dec-12 10:31:11

panthehub pm please

PuffPants Sun 09-Dec-12 10:31:29

Ooh, Original, can I be in the know? grin

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 10:32:11

I have something first hand, from years ago, but I thought it was unfair and distateful to mention on thread. Anyone interested as we are now becoming salacious?

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 10:32:31

I'm waiting for that thrill of the anticipation, so I can explode with "Yeahhh", or "Ridiculous" or "Oh no, !!

OodKingWenceslas Sun 09-Dec-12 10:33:07

yes please pan

Yama Sun 09-Dec-12 10:33:47

Pm me please.

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 10:34:21

merlin Sun 09-Dec-12 10:35:27

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 10:35:39

it's a PM job in a mo.

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sun 09-Dec-12 10:36:33

Ooh Pan can you PM me too pls.
I never do these gossip PMs but since it's Strictly.

Are you tempted to tell everyone different things Pan? Imagine the hilarity as the thread continues with cryptic discussions between people who think Craig is having a torrid affair with Len and those who think Robin is shagging Lisa. Many confused faces.

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 10:38:07

Thanks Pan. Blimey, it's a hot bed of, er, hot beds.

OodKingWenceslas Sun 09-Dec-12 10:40:16

I'd quite like that ladyisabella

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 10:40:18

Must say I have noticed how much Craig is smiling this series, and must have something making him happy. But LEN - don't think so !!

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 10:40:25

Tx. Eww all round, although I did have a sneaking suspicion about the last one.

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 10:41:18

I always like a bit of gossip. Even though this made me a bit sick.

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 10:41:55

And did notice Lisa's smile was wider than usual last night?!

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 10:42:02

Is there more salacious gossip?

LetUsPrey Sun 09-Dec-12 10:45:03

PM with the gossip for me too please.

Prays the word Widdy is not mentioned

cocolepew Sun 09-Dec-12 10:46:01

Thanks Pan. So what was Halle's goss?

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 11:02:35

This hubbing malarky is really tiring!

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:04:49

Anyone else Pan hasn't hubbed? Happy to PM.

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sun 09-Dec-12 11:06:54

Thanks. Ewwwwww sad.

Oooh, please could someone pm me, I've just got to know!

Thank you very much!

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:16:31

Halle's is current gossip from this series. Pan's is first hand from a while ago - anyone interested, I have his OK to PM it onwards if anyone wants. His hubbing duties have tired him grin

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:21:39

Did we break MN wth our salaciousness?

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 11:23:46

I would like Pan's original gossip. I didn't get that!

MagicLlama Sun 09-Dec-12 11:24:29

Thanks Pan

Its just Ewwww, but I cant say im surprised! Gross gross gross though.

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:25:47

Hang on Halle.

SlideAway Sun 09-Dec-12 11:26:13

Another lurker, could someone please PM me the goss. Thanks

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:27:51

And Slide <takes up Hub duties>

oh and me, i need want gossip.

am i a cynic but what is it with James, DVO's partner. has someone decided that she just isnt popular and they have to go, he just seems pessimistic and like he wants them to fail,

part from that go lewis, and go dani, love dani's partner. lets not forget kimberley, who i dont think will win either on the popularity stakes.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 11:29:27

ta Fids! Have to be off. There's a small matter of the Utd v City derby to prepare for.

pm me btw grin

and i wasnt even concentrating on kimberley's dance, i was looking at her partner - seeing how professional male dances actually moves of course

ceebeegeebies Sun 09-Dec-12 11:32:42

ooh can someone PM Pans original gossip then? smile smile

thanks pan grin

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:33:53

done slarty - checked your name lots grin
hang on cee.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 11:34:09

Nimble's dress was really dramatic, wasn't it? She was like a flame, burning up the floor. Worthy of the 10s, def.

Yama Sun 09-Dec-12 11:35:18

I have the current series gossip. Could someone PM the older gossip please?

SlideAway Sun 09-Dec-12 11:35:45

Thanks AdesteFiderer. Can't say I'm surprised either sad

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:36:22

OK Yama, it's not from an SCD series, it's first hand from Pan.

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 11:36:38

Hang in am I missing some gossip? I've got salacious gods from the current series. Is there more? Pm please please

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 11:37:29

Gods? Wtf phone. Should say goss

Yama Sun 09-Dec-12 11:38:24

Thanks Pan and Fid. That does not surprise me.

OodKingWenceslas Sun 09-Dec-12 11:39:34

slarty dh & I said that about James, starting to be negative about their chances

is that what it's all about, no wonder they so desperately want to remain. tut tut

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:40:14

RedTinsel - stand by.
God it's like something out of Where Eagles Dare. "Stand by Danny Boy"
<shows age>

either he realises she is not a popular partner or he has been told to flunk it. all a bit strange attitude

HalleLouja Sun 09-Dec-12 11:42:17

Or they are just too preoccupied.

ceebeegeebies Sun 09-Dec-12 11:42:44

Thank you for both...have to say am not surprised by Pans Goss as I think that kind of behaviour was quite prevalent with the people involved in his biggest achievements wink wink

am surprised about the other gossip though. surely you cannot hide these things when your partner also works on the show??

Lizzylou Sun 09-Dec-12 11:44:43

Could anyone pm me with the gossip old and new please?? If its all about the shagging I wouldn't be surprised, all that close contact and writhing.

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:48:10

Gossip aside, there is an odd atmosphere between Nicky and Karen, and DVO and James.

I know it's TV and we can read into it any loopy thing we like based on a few minutes of TV. Love each other, hate each other, we don't/won't know. Which won't stop us speculating of course wink

RedTinsel Sun 09-Dec-12 11:48:43

Right, I'm up to date with the gossip now so thanks.

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 11:51:27

Lizzy, have done.

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 12:08:21

Apart from the usual disclaimer about gossip being just that, it's no wonder that rumours are wild and insistent. It's a show where by its very nature, the couples have to become close, it's intense and physical and emotional.

Horsemad Sun 09-Dec-12 12:14:27

Please, please PLEASE can someone PM me all the goss ??

Have got a hangover and need a distraction!

Pan, are you a red or blue fan?

cocolepew Sun 09-Dec-12 12:19:10

Pleaseeeeee someone Pm me

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 12:26:51

cocolepew Sun 09-Dec-12 12:31:03

OHHHHHH Thanks for that fid and pan shock

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 12:31:07

Have done, was distracted by Pan's video.

Horsemad Sun 09-Dec-12 12:34:36

Thanks for the PMs!!

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 12:34:54

Wow, she is good, Kimberley. She comes across as very natural and she seemed to really enjoy that.

Just caught up with last night's dances. I liked Dani best, but Louis and Kimberley were fab too. I loved Flavia in that hot pink.

Lizzylou Sun 09-Dec-12 12:36:55

Thanks adeste, was unable to reply to pm via phone. Bit shocked really!
Dirty buggers

Horsemad Sun 09-Dec-12 12:38:59

Got to take DS to footy, will be back to this thread ASAP!

sybilvimes Sun 09-Dec-12 12:39:48

Ok, I am going to have to de-lurk to plead for gossip. Please please pm me!

did you see pasha recoil from kimbelrey stroking his tummy shock what they call no chemistry

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 12:44:55

Hi Syb, no time no Hall grin

CitronVert Sun 09-Dec-12 12:49:09

Very shy lurker here but could I have a pm to with the goss? Thanks and loving the thread.

sybilvimes Sun 09-Dec-12 12:49:31

Thanks for that Fids, I know we need to make a concerted effort to resurrect the Hall, I do miss the Hugh photo!

Ew to the gossip, their poor partners.

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 12:54:18

I still think that there's such a level of intimacy that goes with a show like SCD, physical, emotional, that the couples do develop close bonds (and if they don't we slate them for it wink )

So where's the line between "They're close" and "They're really rhumba-ing" ?

CitronVert Sun 09-Dec-12 12:54:30

Thanks Adeste. Juicy! Must say I did have definite vibes from the third. Others not so much but still ... Wow.

Could someone please PM me the gossip .
I would love to know who's doing what to who .

LetUsPrey Sun 09-Dec-12 12:57:49

Thanks for the older gossip Pan.

Can someone PM me the current SCD gossip please?

oldfatandtired1 Sun 09-Dec-12 13:00:06

Can I have the old and new gossip please?

whathaveiforgottentoday Sun 09-Dec-12 13:02:52

Oo could I have the gossip too please. Atmosphere between the couples doesn't seem as friendly this year.

LetUsPrey Sun 09-Dec-12 13:14:52

Thanks Adeste.

oldfatandtired1 Sun 09-Dec-12 13:16:20

Thanks Adeste. Disappointed by number 3 but all a bit eugh . . .

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 13:22:35

I think a lot of us are, I'm not sure it's true (if any are). Yes to all a bit eugh.

Odd being called "Adeste" - it's my Christmas name. Makes me feel all Margaret Rutherford, I should have a mortar board and wave a Latin primer around grin

whathaveiforgottentoday Sun 09-Dec-12 13:23:07

Thanks from me too adeste. I. Agree no. 3 makes sense.

Eskarina Sun 09-Dec-12 13:27:41

I'd appreciate knowing the gossip and result please!

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 13:32:04

I'm off to have a long bath. Could someone take up Hub Duties and forward the gossip, please?

VillaEphrussi Sun 09-Dec-12 13:34:12

Please can someone PM me all the gossip, pleeease??!

I'm intrigued as I can't detect any chemistry between couples this year, which is usually part of the appeal of the whole series, so I'd love to see what's gone under the radar...

scaramanga Sun 09-Dec-12 13:35:19

Could I have the gossip - Old and NEw please smile

I have beeen lurking and have some theories of my own would be good to have them confirmed (allegedly or course - gossip is just gossipsmile

TIA - oh - I want Louis to win or Dani Harmer - even Kimble would be ok - but definitediitelytley not Denisel

scaramanga Sun 09-Dec-12 13:38:28

definitely grin - don't know what heppened there

met Denise VO many years ago and she had that fixed grin on her then - really don't warm to her. Think Nicky will go tonight (dont want to know about that - as like to watch results sunday night)

Agree Karen and Nicky don't seem a good pairing

Scaramanga sits and patiently waits for gossip to land in in in box smile

VillaEphrussi Sun 09-Dec-12 13:41:05

Agree with Scaramanga on favoured winners. Kimberley's grown on me but I can't understand why she isn't more swoony around Pasha confused. Maybe it's the haircut (which seems to have got harsher again sad )

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 13:44:22

Happy to help - but please, I'm usually Fiderer, or Fids grin

scaramanga Sun 09-Dec-12 13:45:34

thanks Yama and Adeste - lovely feeling to get PMs blush

I am not at all surprised at the first on the list - the second one makes me feel uncomfortable (please let it be a false rumour) - the third one doesnt surprise me much either.

The historical story hits the right note too - That sort of behaviour seems to go with the territory

Thanks again - I will be watching closely next week.

scaramanga Sun 09-Dec-12 13:46:27

Apologies - thank you Fids smile

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 13:49:41

AdesteFiderer is my Christmas NC from Debbie Fiderer in The West Wing and a bad play on the carol Adeste Fidelis.

<bath runneth over emoticon>

AdesteFiderer Sun 09-Dec-12 13:51:09

No apologies necessary, scaramanga grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 09-Dec-12 13:53:27

LOVED Louis and Flavia. He has found his mojo and he's thrilling to watch.

Loved Kimberley and Pasha.

Lisa and Robin likeable but she has reached her limit.

Nicky's shoulders/frame are terrible. Why have they not sorted them out by now? Craig's comment was unnecessarily cruel though; he should be ashamed. And I say that as a Craig fan.

DVO; not bad but I just don't like her. I think she and Nicky are in the dance-off and of course they'll save her.

Can someone PM me please? Ta!

Bloody hell! Six pages and all about gossip.

Can I have a pm of old and new too please Fiderer?

ElizaBecca Sun 09-Dec-12 14:06:30

Night shift lurker here who cannot sleep and not sure what day it is - can I have the gossip too, and result as know for certain wont see the show tonightsad

Thanks Fiderer. My MIL sends her thanks too. She loves Strictly and gossip so she is one very happy lady. smile

noddyholder Sun 09-Dec-12 14:11:15

ooh me too someone grin

snowwombat Sun 09-Dec-12 14:24:49

<Delurks> may I please have a PM with the gossip?Thank you thanks

I'm a little shock at the gossip .
I want Louis and Flavia to win , and think they should have had all tens .
Can't warm to Kimberley . Like DVO and Lisa , think Nicky will be going tonight . But don't tell me , I want to watch .

snowwombat Sun 09-Dec-12 14:37:17

Fiderer thank you. Bit shocked at all of them, but particularly Pan's story.

Clayhead Sun 09-Dec-12 14:44:27

Please could someone PM me? Thanks smile

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Sun 09-Dec-12 14:51:14

I usually stay away from this thread on a Sumday in case anyone lets slip the result (not that I think they ever have) because we like to wait for the results show, now I have give in and come back to ask if anyone would PM me please?

moodyblues Sun 09-Dec-12 14:55:24

Please, please, pleeeeeaaaaase could someone pm me the goss old and new. I know I'm just a stinky old lurker but I need to know!

I'll be forever in your debt.....

ppeatfruit Sun 09-Dec-12 14:55:44

Well thanks a lot for the p.m. pan I didn't actually ask for it!! very very interesting though I could almost have guessed grin.

Well to repeat goodking and thenightsky DVO will not be happy with the results AT ALL!!

Kimberley and Pasha were very good; LOL at her dress looking like a 'merkin' enjoyresponsibly I thought it looked a bit weird as well!

I loved Danni's dance too. She's a bit sweeter than Kim although there's nothing wrong with Kim.

planestrainsautomobiles Sun 09-Dec-12 14:56:29

Lurker here - would make my day to get a PM .... I'm sat here with 3 grumpy men / boys coughing in unison

Bakingnovice Sun 09-Dec-12 15:00:31

PM for me too pls pls plsssss.......

I had a friend who worked on Chicago with DVO and she said they literally spent hours and hours and hours going over the dances and general dance techniques so DVO has deffo had a head start. And when they check the stats for hours spent training DVO is way out in front. But the prob is that she started off so (professional) good that there's been no improvement. Whereas with kim dani and Louis you can see the graph of improvement. Kim was brilliant last night. Think Louis was underscored and dani slightly over scored.

Oh, and apparently DVO was a cow to work with. Never even spoke to the dancers. Just the main leads.

PennyForum Sun 09-Dec-12 15:01:41

Ok...i cant resist any longer. I'm delurking to plea for the gossip. Please, pretty please.

Could someone PM me the gossip please? I love SCD but only have time to lurk on this thread really... TIA smile

rotavirusrita Sun 09-Dec-12 15:08:23

<delurks> please can i have a pm with the gossip. I have a hunch what it might be and would like to see if im tight or not

rotavirusrita Sun 09-Dec-12 15:08:48

Right not tight!!!

AmIthatTinselly Sun 09-Dec-12 15:10:13

Pretty please can I have old and new stuff (fomo)
Thank you so much

Dotty342kids Sun 09-Dec-12 15:12:45

Ok, I too need to know the gossip! I normally lurk but all this implied news and gossip is driving me scatty. Pleeeeease can someone PM me? Thank you, thank you, thank you smile

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 15:26:13

I have finally seen yesterday's show, between tantrum bouts from the kids and two stops for Curious George.

First thing, did anyone notice Jonny Ball's vid clip at the start of the show is back showing Aliona dancing with him? I wonder if there was a big stink raised by her agent to get her highlighted again once she started dancing in the pro numbers again?

I thought DVO did really well considering the dress mishap. Core of steel indeed, to kick through that strong brocade fabric and get back in time!
Nicky - meh. Nice frozen smiles through the terrible criticism.
Lisa - meh. Looked very lost to me at points during their number. Either she was or they were just bad changes.
Dani really was built to do the Charleston, wasn't she? Great character during that.
Loved Louis showing a bit of expression through that rumba. Love his arms too.
I was a bit distracted by DS's tantrum during Kimberly's routine, so sort of missed the fantasticness of it. Will try and watch again to see what was so good.

I fast-forwarded most of Brucie, but he's unavoidable during the judges' comments. Was it me, or was he more mouthy tonight? Like he wanted to prove he still has it (hah!) and isn't ready to stop yet?

Plus, feel free to PM me any gossip, just not tonight's results please! grin

ppeatfruit Sun 09-Dec-12 15:45:53

Thanks bakingnovice for the vindication of our general meh hmm conclusions about DVO !!

Why is lovely Lee Mead with DVO? She sounds awful, but I can't believe he would be with someone horrible. Unless he is horrible too. sad

On DVO's Twitter she said something along the lines of 'come on all you Mums vote for the only Mum in the competition' confused

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 15:57:22

I never thought DVO was horrible or annoying, but lots do. Who is Lee Mead??

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 16:02:36

That hole in DVO's bottom of skirt was big, and it was a knee length skirt. Who said, " you must have cocked your leg up too high" Was it Craig, can't remember, but have a feeling the word "Darling" was at the end ??

ppeatfruit Sun 09-Dec-12 16:03:17

Her DH digerd he won the Joseph contest he LOOKs lovely grin

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 16:05:18

You mean the one with the curly hair - oh yes he's lovely to look at , and seemed nice too. That contest with the Lord ?

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 16:05:52

Yes, who is Lee Mead?
So it was 3-2 to Utd.
And I am finding my gossip mojo. Anyone missing the pathetic tittle-tattle?
Sorry ppeatfruit - you just got caught up in the maelstrom of PMs.

ppeatfruit Sun 09-Dec-12 16:06:11

DVO's a pro IMO digerd which seems more than a bit unfair on the others. I didn't see Jason Donovan when he was on it did he win?

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 16:08:08

no, he didn't win, but I'd noticed a few parallels between Devo and Jason - all nice and friendly on the surface but uber competitive when off camera focus.

MordionAgenos Sun 09-Dec-12 16:11:30

I know people who have worked with DVO and they say she is lovely. Really properly lovely.

OodKingWenceslas Sun 09-Dec-12 16:15:58

Len commented on her kicks being too high

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 16:16:03

Ageing is so annoying as I don't remember like I used to < grumpy face>, but don't think Jason did win.
Remember who won last year as was Harry mad, but don't remember who else was on it. Do remember Jason dancing, but not if it was last year, and he was good at the showmanship type dances.,but not what I call a talented dancer like HARRY - hmmmm

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 16:22:12

I am annoyed that I can't remember. Did Jason dance last year, if not who won, Aleisha?

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Sun 09-Dec-12 16:26:11

I'd still like a PM if someone wouldn't mind? Unless it gives away tonight's result.

Lee Mead is DVO's husband.

Jason was last year wasn't he?

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 16:26:43

Jason danced last year. He placed third behind Chelsee who was 2nd and Harry who won. Aleisha must have won a few years before that, because in 2010 it was Cara somebody (aka Artem's now girlfriend) who won, with Matt Baker 2nd and Pamela Stephenson (think that's her last name) 3rd.

MordionAgenos Sun 09-Dec-12 16:26:54

Jason danced lst year. He finished 3rd, after doing clearly the best show dance. By about a country mile. He was the best dancer on his day but inconsistent. her from Waterloo road was also better than Harry and much more consistent than Jason. Harry was not very good at all (Holly and her off the one show were both better than him too). He was average at best and danced completely without expression or passion (or indeed musicality which is a bit bonkers given that he is a musician but I guess percussionists are slightly different).

ppeatfruit Sun 09-Dec-12 16:28:12

Don't mind a bit pan was a surprise though an interesting one hmm!!At the naughty couples!!

BTW where did you get your info ?(if you're allowed to divulge!).

Digerd `I can recommend gingko supplements for short term memory probs if you're interested grin I fight my age with a special way of eating like Kim Cattrall and exercises BTW.

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 16:29:43

Harry won last year digerd.

Sorry to be a grump but getting a bit fed up of ploughing through all the requests for gossip - surely someone could have just posted it in a vaguely coded way so not libelous and fun to decipher?

Also think people are getting too bitchy about DVO - I'm not rooting for her but there's no reason to suppose she's a cow or any such description, just that she shouldn't have been shoe-horned into SCD.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 16:31:08

Sorry ppeatfruit - my fakt is mine, obv. - the current stuff comes from Hallelouja.

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 16:39:01

Gosh, worried now, but then my mind was full of Harry last year, and I have seen many years of SCD series.
Thanks ppeat, will order Ginko tomorrow, if not tonight!!

ppeatfruit Sun 09-Dec-12 16:43:35

Oh Mordion I LOVED Harry's dancing last year a deserving winner IMO esp. as he had never danced before AND he was the male which is harder in ballroom IMO again of course. (it was him that got me into SCD and try and ignore the audience grin this year)

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 16:47:50

Yes I remember Harry last year as I rooted for him as was so shy and serious, but I can recognise potential, and he did blossom. And I do like cute and hunky .
Did you see the link to his tango on You Tube, earlier in this thread? I loved it
Agree about the other stuff, but each to his own.

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 16:50:56

I missed last year digerd but I have been watching a bit of Harry to catch up. Seems a lovely dancer but it's funny how I can't get the same emotional connection when I haven't had the chance to get to know the characters.

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 16:55:10

And I remember Ramps, and Arlene's reaction to his hip movements. And the big sportsmen - names elude me- who gave their all, and one won with a brilliant performance in the final. And the rugby player with the massive "guns", . Those were the days of great excitement.

Bakingnovice Sun 09-Dec-12 16:57:38

Wish arlene was back. Didn't like her much when she was on but she always gave great comments and it's not the same without her

Horsemad Sun 09-Dec-12 16:59:26

Right, I'm back from footy - just thawing out!

Somebody didn't record last night's prog for me, so I need to watch iPlayer before tonight"s results show.

Horsemad Sun 09-Dec-12 17:00:22

Ps, good result for your lot Pan!

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 17:00:32

You have had to see his progress, and how intense he was at first. I loved Aleisha, but normally my hearts are with the men who have not had training and start off keen but not a natural dancer. And some suddenly come out one week transformed in the latin, which is usually the men's weekness.
This was while Arlene was on the panel

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 17:01:31

ps. " weakness" even - got all excited at the memories!!

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 17:05:48

I always agreed with Arlene about the performance aspect.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 17:10:27

I think the cricketer who won with Lilya Kopulova in 2005 (?) was fab. Apart from the constant self-ref. to "just being a big butch Yorkshire lad" which grated a bit after 10 weeks.

MordionAgenos Sun 09-Dec-12 17:13:20

Darren Gough. He was terrible! He got significantly lower marks than the other two from the judges in the final and that was a fair reflection of their respective abilities. Zoe (who got the top mark firm the judges) was robbed. sad

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 17:16:26

yes, fab only in terms of improvement, MA - agree, he shouldn't have won.

gettingeasier Sun 09-Dec-12 17:24:37

OK why cant you tell us the gossip with the words apparently or allegedly inserted ??? If not if anyone fancies PMing me to brighten my glum afternoon !

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sun 09-Dec-12 17:25:15

Darren was awful, and his "ooh I'm just a bloke" approach bordered on the homophobic. Austin is my idea of a manly dancer - I like a man who's confident enough to do the Cha Cha to It's Raining Men without having a OMG I might catch Teh Gays panic.

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 17:27:18

What a brilliant memory you have, just looked it up and it was 2005 when Darren Gough won. He was not a good dancer, but gave a magnificent electrifying performance which wowed the majority of viewers in the final.
I think Colin came 2nd and he was a good and talented dancer and won the later contest?

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 17:30:18

digerd - thanks but I couldn't remember his name.grin

was that when Erin had Colin dancing with a mannequin in the semi?

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 17:31:02

His name was on the end of my tongue - Austin Healey with the big guns. he worked so hard he lost a lot of weight and I was worried about his health. I admired him too.

MordionAgenos Sun 09-Dec-12 17:31:03

@digerd no that's not what happened. Colin did a show dance which while choreographically brave completely misfired on the night. So Darren won by default. At the 3rd place knock out Len and Lilia and Erin all did a big 'it's SO much harder for a man' thing and poor Zoe - who had got the highest marks - was kicked out in viewer vote. She then went on to do a show dance that was significantly better than either of the two dances that were actually in the competition.

MordionAgenos Sun 09-Dec-12 17:31:37

How can people not remember this stuff? grin

AvengingGerbil Sun 09-Dec-12 17:32:18

I don't need the gossip (insert pure and innocent emoticon) but from the chorus of eewwwwws and grosses I can only assume it involves a Knight of the Realm. No other combination could do more than raise an eyebrow, surely?

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 17:33:08

You are my memory jogger YES, it was and judges didn't like it, still can't remember his surname though, - was it Jackson??

Badvocsanta Sun 09-Dec-12 17:33:19

Still get over the shock of Austin Healy leaving sad
He was great.
Loved ramps.
Couldn't believe Darren gough won...
If nicky and Lisa are in the bottom 2 tonight then nicky will go (hurrah)
But if its anyone else and Lisa then she will go.
Probably her time to go tbh...she is being left behind by the others.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 17:36:24

yes Colin Jackson - we watched in with jaw-dropped WTF expressions. He should have won, but they managed to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 17:38:33

Austin Healy - I had him booked for something else, to do with my job, on the understanding he wouldn't get v far, and so be able to do our job. (sports related). The little tyke did better than expected and so we lost him. [grr]

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 17:41:54

Mind you can't remember if it was the semi, I thought it was the final, but was 7 years ago. He was really good wasn't he.
Wasn't he a sportman? here we go again!! Where's the Ginko?

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sun 09-Dec-12 17:47:25

Zoe, unfortunately, was Box Office Poison. She'd been in the dance-off twice despite high scores. I think there had been a story about her home life which had portrayed her in a bad light, and she was up against a couple of very popular men (James Martin and Darren Gough) and a really fabulous dancer in Colin, so the "purity of daaaaance" vote was split.

Rumour has it that Dummygate had no effect whatsoever on the result - Darren was streets ahead in the vote before the showdance, but it was a useful fig leaf to cover up the fact that the worst dancer won on the night (much like Tom Chambers' showdance).

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 17:49:05

Austen?- Rugby player - and I think 2007. Lots of sweaty phone calls between me, his agent and the tv production co every Monday morning, wanting him to be knocked out.grin - we had a deal for him encouraging 'under-privileged children' in playing sports.

Badvocsanta Sun 09-Dec-12 17:52:32

Hmmm...mot warming to Denise at all. Not that keen on James either.
Anyone else think dani and Vincent are being under marked?
Louis, Kimberly, denise and Lisa in the final....
Louis to win.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 17:54:33

Colin? 110meters hurdler. With a nice line in sweaters for the VTs.

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 17:57:57

How disappointing for you and the children< sad face>

knottyhair Sun 09-Dec-12 17:58:48

Really sorry to catch up so late, but could anyone PM me the gossip?? thanks

frankinsensible Sun 09-Dec-12 17:59:27

Agree Badvocsanta, Dani and Vincent are consistently undermarked. Kimberley is consistently overmarked.

AmIthatTinselly Sun 09-Dec-12 18:00:45

As I recall, Colin and Erin did the most beautiful American Smooth. Really lovely.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 18:00:51

Well, we wise enough to not say anything until it was going to happen. The real time demand was with the tv producers - he did do something the following year but not with us in particular.

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 18:01:14

And, I had a feeling it was hurdling but not sure.

Horsemad Sun 09-Dec-12 18:01:31

Have now watched last night's prog - I liked Lisa's dance least. Blimey, there wasn't much of Kim's dress, was there?!

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 18:02:34

IAm - yes they did, didn't they? One of the stand-out performances, like Jill's jive, and now Nimble's fusion.

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 18:04:00

AmI - sorry.

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 18:04:56

Now - Tom Chambers won in 2008 ( according to web site info), who should have won? Was it the other young man who really did find his latin mojo one week, and brought the house down? I thought he should have won.

Badvocsanta Sun 09-Dec-12 18:05:22

Karen and ramps argentine tango was swoon tastic!
Vincent and Louisa's jive was the best I have seen in strictly and hugely undermarked.
I can only think its because the judges have their favourites and vice versa.
Len loathes aliona and he doesn't seem to like Karen hauer.
I have gone right off robin for some reason...
Loving Louis and dani and Kimberly.

Badvocsanta Sun 09-Dec-12 18:05:42

....although most improved dancer has to be Michael Vaughan...

Clayhead Sun 09-Dec-12 18:05:58

I have still not got over Colin not winning sad. He was a BRILLIANT dancer.

Badvocsanta Sun 09-Dec-12 18:08:45

Sad to say the best dancer doesn't always win sad

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 18:16:52

Hope there is another brilliant profi dance, and looking forward to seeing the gorgeous Natalie dance again

LadyIsabellasHollyWreath Sun 09-Dec-12 18:18:04

Rachel Stevens was the best dancer in Tom Chambers' year; she was a fabulous mover, but a total ringer who'd been dancing for a living since infancy, and had very little visible personality (she was Monkseal's original dancebot).

The other finalist was Lisa Snowdon, Box Office Poison extraordinare, who was put into the final at Austin (wozrobbed!) Healey's expense, and gave us the immortal Bacofoil showdance.

Badvocsanta Sun 09-Dec-12 18:18:12

Michael buble on tonight (I love a bit of buble!!)

AmIthatTinselly Sun 09-Dec-12 18:20:29

Digerd I think the feeling was the Rachel Stevens and Lisa Snowdon were better.

I loved Tom's showdance though, it was very memorable.

AmIthatTinselly Sun 09-Dec-12 18:21:09

oops. took so long xposted with Lady blush

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 18:21:14

Or was it on last night and I missed it?

SassySpice Sun 09-Dec-12 18:21:44

Pretty please, may I have a PM with the gossip?
Thank you thanks

SassySpice, have you got the gossip? Can you pass it on to me?

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 18:37:02

feeling a bit scuzzy now. But in a good

knottyhair Sun 09-Dec-12 18:37:22

And me please!!!

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 18:40:22

If someone sends me the gossip, I will then be happy to pass it onto anyone who sends me a PM asking for it. That might then stop all the cries for a gossy PM and keep us on the dancing track for here.

<adjusts thread-starter badge with far too much seriousness> wink

doglover Sun 09-Dec-12 18:40:23

Only just discovered this thread! PPLLEEAASSEE could someone PM me the gossip? Many, many thanks

digerd Sun 09-Dec-12 18:44:07

Just looked up Rachel Stevens in 2008 SCD, and she is quite obviously a well trained and talented dancer .

TheOriginalPan Sun 09-Dec-12 18:45:38

Andi - done - you are now sleaze central. Good luck.grin

doglover Sun 09-Dec-12 18:54:01

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 18:55:47

forehead Sun 09-Dec-12 18:58:41

I think that Ramps was the best winner.

forehead Sun 09-Dec-12 18:59:47

Can i have the gossip please?

doglover Sun 09-Dec-12 19:00:25

All done (I hope!) AndiMac!

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 19:02:18

Vulgar Sun 09-Dec-12 19:03:16

BlingBubbles Sun 09-Dec-12 19:12:07

Ooh here we go...

MordionAgenos Sun 09-Dec-12 19:12:18

@ladyisabella Rachel Stevens was no more trained than Tom Chambers. Both were stage school trained. Lisa Snowden didn't get into the final at Austin AHeaky's expense, she got into the semi at his expense. Nobody was eliminated from the semi because there was a draw between two of them (think Lisa and Rachel) which meant that Tom could not be saved from the dance off. This was in the year that all the phone in scandas were happening, and the BBC were particularly sensitive at people phoning in to try and prevent something which could not be prevented. So they put them all through.

AndiMac Sun 09-Dec-12 19:12:40

DVO looks like she's about to puke waiting for the results for the dance off.

Horsemad Sun 09-Dec-12 19:14:13

And still Nicky doesn't look at Karen.

BlingBubbles Sun 09-Dec-12 19:14:43

DVO and James look so scared! If they dance against nicky they should stay... But lets see who the second couple are
